Belgium’s state railway company has released footage of a dramatic moment where the driver and a passenger get out of a car stuck on a railway track moments before a train arrives.

  1. That’s why in Japan, they have another barrier on the road itself that closes earlier than the one beside the track. They also have traffic lights and sounds to indicate that there’s an incoming train.

  2. I’ve seen what happens to a human in a conflict with a train. I was an ER nurse for over 30 years. Death is only the beginning … terrible disfigurement of the body, heads in particular. Nobody wants to see what a crushed skull looks like and even the best mortician can’t fix some of them. My worst one was somebody I knew, the music teacher at my high school. He was badly injured and non-recognizable. We ID’d him from his drivers license, and I’d known the man for years. Took me many years to be able to enjoy spare ribs again, and they still creep me out when they’re raw! There are crossbars that automatically drop down as a train approaches. At least in Canada most rail lines have them. Keep vigilant and your eyes open! 🇨🇦🦫🇨🇦

  3. I have watched several of these now and instead of flooring it and powering thru the RR Crossing Arms, they would rather just let their car be demolished. This makes no sense.

  4. You have to speed up and drive straight through the bars that will break. They're constructed to break if a car hits them hard.
