we’re Chris and Jenny and this year we’re seeing the world join us and let’s travel to some of the most amazing places on Earth this week we’re in this is mine which is the chicken yep I see chicken all right we’re leaving Leon on a bit of a rainy day are you glad we only booked 4 days total here in Leon we’re more slow paced people so I think it’ll fit our schedule our tastes more even though and heading to aong and then ARL and then nbal after that a minute into AEL and she has managed to find a mini so look look how pleased she is that was a good ride it’s just 1 hour down from uh Leon not the cheapest it would been nice if we got a better deal key really is just a book in advance uh if you have your dates already set and you could save a couple bucks and second class is okay especially for shirter rides all right we’re in the old town in our Airbnb here in AV the old town was really really cool we came through an entrance that looked like someone had just hacked through it like Marauders and Invaders coming through which also actually looks very alive compared to some of the other old towns we’ve been to lots of cute shop so I want that creep we’re in the penthouse no you get more than one pous it’s really cool they like to stick these little Tiles at the corners I think uh Avid yong’s Charms have won me over already it’s beautiful such a cool [Music] [Music] area straight [Music] okay here it [Music] goes move over here and get out of the [Music] way Jenny is very hungry if you can’t tell just just go mess all mess a fun little tasting machine that apparently has been around for a while in the South here right here Aven and there’s like all of these regions we’ve learned so much about wine mostly by drinking [Music] it right yeah we’re just at the Tourism Center and they had just recommended oh you know come check this place out it’s really nice so far super cute really interesting looking and uh it’s quiet so apparently they’re in service all the way until 9:30 from 12:00 to 9:30 um but uh We’ve we’re having early dinner cuz we didn’t really have lunch we just had a crepe and so it’s 5:30 we can try it out and there’s a truffle risotto there’s definitely the zodo in there looks great gorgeous looking dish better than what we’ve had in the already I don’t know but like this this truffle chicken Supreme’s just delicious and obviously Mary is great and very personable as well and she’s giv us some tips yeah a little dry it’s okay cuz you’re going to layer it in all these [Music] things and we so good bit of a chilly day today and we get to take a break and get some sandwiches I get a hot chocolate Jenny’s gotten a tea we’re going pretty fast on the little scooter today uh surprisingly quick actually Jenny got C moner it’s pretty good all right so we rented a scooter from Aenon today where we’re staying and we’ve ridden it out to Pont Dugard where there is the one of the best preserved aqueducts Roman aqueducts uh that still exists today and so this one’s built over 2,000 years ago we’re going to go check it out so to get in it’s €9 I think that includes parking and so then you just have a walk around looks like there’s a grotto as well maybe we could check that out that’s kind of cool we’re saying 9 seems kind of steep we thought it was maybe just for parking it seems like you get to come through the whole area hopefully uh that’s the case yeah that’s right Jenny said still making money good money [Music] [Music] all right we’re making our way up to the top I think we’re just about there I can’t see anything higher than this area hopefully there’s something on hey jny would what did we find up [Music] there all right so according to Jenny we got a bit lost as we were doing our hike for a panoramic view of the aqueduct but of course I reassured her and now with ice cream did we get lost Jenny no not at all right no we knew exactly where we were yeah the whole time is it good ice cream good enjoy your ice cream so yeah it’s pretty sweet you get to go up a little bit you get a view of the aqua dot it’s a very pretty little area is it worth the drive out from Aon well let’s ask Jenny what do what does Jenny think is it worth the drive out from Avon as long as you’re on a scooter yeah Scooter’s fun for sure and it’s warming up now sun’s coming out a bit and uh we’ll see where the rest of the adventure takes us we’ll take a quick walk around but then we got to get back on the bike and head on out oh these are a bit steep so just be careful what are we looking at Jenny um Rock [Music] Storage gosh darn it she’s not wrong can we look at the map yeah debut back then that’s a that’s a chair but they don’t want you to sit in it so is this the chair [Music] [Music] wow hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey he hey hey [Applause] [Music] it’s actually just normal KFC but it’s the first time we’re having it here in France and we’re having it here in ayong which we’ve very much enjoyed so far we had a pretty long scooter ride today uh I think we had it out for about 6 hours we went to two local sort of Adventure spots to look at Roman architecture lety you got a little book that’s pretty cool look and I get I get my own bucket and I think oh yeah there’s the fries and then hopefully some chicken tenders in there these are so small I’m interested in the sauce it’s too hot for you sauce I always say the french fries are not good at all these are old French fries I think it’s like a Thai sweet chili sauce yummy why do they have to scrunch this bun so much good sauce right good sauce KFC in AO you can probably skip it [Music] it’s so windy today all right we are eating at restaurant pollen uh it opens here in a couple minutes Jenny managed to snag us some reservations for for lunch uh it’s €50 for their standard €100 for their I don’t know more deluxe lunch set I guess the inspiration menu [Music] [Music] a little warm squash pumpkin and a little bit of mustard you get see the little bit of mustard seed in there yeah it reminds me of the Korean sash soups the sweet ones [Music] yeah that’s really creamy nice I like it the yeah it’s really nice like if I get a full bowl of this pretty set there [Music] kind of reminds me of a very Deluxe McDonald’s hurger McDonald’s hurg with the with the raw onion because um the biscuit is really light and crispy little ball thing is so fun for like mouth texture yeah it’s like light and then you just bite in and it was like it’s nice and cool it’s was fun it’s fun all right it’s the homemade Paca and spread I’m sure that’s going to be [Music] good that’s plenty that’s plenty [Music] yes perfect crispy picachio bread lightly garlicked and seasoned on top I’d say the butter I’m not getting [Music] much SE bream starter it is very pretty as jny [Music] said fragrant Floral brings out the Cucumber I love it I’ve been waiting for sashimi last bite of fish until Japan raw fish at least I don’t think I’m eating this in Italy we’ll see we have to check our budget I really appreciate the Cucumber just well the right thickness the way it’s wrapped good consistency the bread’s actually quite good soft crispy outside not too much chew such that it hurts your mouth when the crisp breaks and your jaw doesn’t have to work too hard cuz it’s actually crisp and then soft on the inside and of course you get to eat eat it with this butter uh and two different kind of flour different cups uh different vegetables in different texture as well this is one of the resturant can Ser almost all year own but we change the position according to the season Citrus butter nice let’s see I think okay let me try [Music] Yeah the more I start to eat the different layers in this one there’s like different things like I had like a k quati one thing too and it was very good it’s a very well balanced he’s right like the mouth feel the mouth texture is very nice [Music] [Music] some for GR with monk fish and a lobster and what sauce caviar just come into the fogra I love this consistency where their outside surface is a little bit toasted and look at the inside it’s just soft and creamy look at that can you come in a little bit more I don’t know if it’ll focus but look at that creamy inside and that toasted top there with the [Music] monkfish so good oh my goodness that’s so good oh my goodness I think that’s the best monk fish I’ve ever had I almost jumped out of my seat there that that tenderness the consistency the lightness of the flavor I am dying a bit that was so good um I just felt so excited all of a sudden really legitimately one of the best bites I’ve ever had in my life wow what the heck yeah look how red I am I am so I’m feeling so it’s messed up I’m feeling so joyous I’m a bit confused I’m glad there’s so much left here for me is that was a ridiculous bite let me try these beans just to cool cool myself off a little bit I understand why he gives us these beans just to calm us down after that fish fine beans a nice creamy I can’t even just pay the man pay the man eat this fish with the fagra little bit of spinach in that sauce there my first piece was that cut of the monk fish where it’s extra fatty it’s just got it’s got that little bulb that comes out and it was that extra fat portion the rest of it as I’m getting into it now the consistency is already a little bit different it’s not quite the same as my initial bite I’m still reeling from that first bite it’s still very [Music] good are you excited to eat pigeon yeah smaller the bir [Music] T yeah that’s melted Miz those onions interesting gaminess to it yeah of the casses it’s very nice yeah there you go and so this is one of Jenny’s extra dishes that she gets as part of the car blanch um menu that’s more extended it’s it’s it’s got the five courses Beyond three courses that I get but at this point Bey with the yeah yeah at this point I’d say not fully worth it for the additional salad and the the pigeon uh unfortunately but uh I mean the dishes are still good I think you’d just be very satisfied already with the other dishes so I don’t know if this is Michelin specific or this is just what this place likes to do I’ve never seen this before but the washroom was carpeted seems like a bad idea kind of thing but me’s see definitely fancies up the area best monk fish I’ve ever had phen wonderful likeo some lemon lime and you have a juice of lemon with some black pepper Vascar and some V all around your bread and ice cream with some yeast cream in the sauce we’ve got some ice cream too then we’ve got this little bread that should be soaked as part of the rum Baba let’s try [Music] this tastes like a sorbet like it’s sorbet is the most amazing flavor it’s like a jelly seems like a nice fudge or pudding [Music] it’s bitter bitter a jelly sauce if you feel like you’re on a little bit of a budget three course is where it’s at so just like Chinese restaurants you get a almond cookie to finish very cute butter [Music] cookie fun nice finish all right so this morning before leaving aong uh heading down towards ARS as we continue our Journeys to the towards the south of France we’re going to visit one of the best known sites in aong which is the Palace de Pepes and pepe is probably not the right way to say it but it’s the Palace of the popes and uh we actually live super close to it so we’re just walking over this morning [Music] [Music] he [Music]
