Join me as I explore Bournemouth on what turned out to be a very quiet day in town. The rain may have kept people away, but it creates an atmospheric look at the streets, shops, and surroundings.

Whether you’re a local, planning a trip, or just curious what Bournemouth looks like on a rainy day, this video gives you a first-hand look at this beautiful seaside town in Dorset, UK.

Welcome everybody out in Bournemouth again
today. Currently at the Upside Gallery which is underneath the Wessex Way. I’ve got the trusty
umbrella which I bought in Cornwall for a tenner which has been amazing so far. There’s been
a lot of rain as well guys and there’s been also a lot of flooding. So let’s head on into
town and see what’s happening. So I’m using a different camera today guys and I’m also going
to be doing a lot of pointing with this thing. But I’m down by the tennis courts. There’s the
Wessix way. And look at all this surface water. But even though the pictures are wet, although
these ones look okay, there’s still people playing tennis. It’s actually quite nice down
here when there isn’t loads of people around. So, just outside the town hall now is a
little bit of blue sky or as I was corrected, the civic center. Some people getting married
there. We won’t get too close, but check out this red bus. Old London bus. How cool is that? It’s in
very good condition, but I like I don’t think the handbrake’s very good. You might not be able to
see, but there’s a wheelchock holding the truck in uh the bus in place. I’ll tell you an interesting
fact about this. In the 1800s, this was the Mont door hotel. And actually, when you look up next
to it, this place is absolutely huge. And it had a the telephone number three. Some of you may
not know that, but had the telephone number three. And then after that, it was a World War II,
sorry, World War I. And then it was the town hall. So here’s a bit of town that is pro little bit
unexplored. Gets a little bit less footful. There’s a few shops here I’ve never seen which
you got tapass plus over there. Sugar and sugar and steam. Okay. What does that mean? Sugar and
coffee. This is empty. I’ve noticed though some of the shops are starting to fill up, guys. This has
been here a little while. Pottery Place if you’re into that. It’s quite busy in there to be fair.
And VR Mania. Never really never really fancied doing that to be honest with you. Then we got a
couple of restaurants and of course just up the end there you got the famous Ivy which I’ve eaten
in there. It’s not too bad. So, just in town now. And you can see there are some of the markets
here. The old sweet shop. $2.99 per 100 grams. I think that’s quite expensive. It’s like some of
these are starting to close now. Very similar vibe to Christmas to be fair. Some of the markets just
a little less Christmy. Instead of having all the Christmas stuff, they’ve got the the flowers on
the edges of the roofs there. But there’s not that many people about today, that’s for sure. Let’s
go and take a little look inside the gardens. I’ve got to say, it’s very quiet. It’s
absolutely lovely to be honest with you. So, here’s the pavilion and look at these views of
the gardens. There’s still quite a bit of color, especially right here in front of me. Now
guys, let me know. Drop me a comment. What is your favorite part of Bournemouth? Whether
it’s past, present, or somewhere that you want to visit in Bournemouth. Let me know in
the comments below. Let’s keep it positive. Couple of guys in the tent
there. Don’t think you’re meant to sleep on the beach. Although
they look like they might be fishing. So, some of you may not know that actually it’s
free to go on Bournemouth Pier now. And this is the old ticket office. It’s now a place called
Dippy Sundays. That’s where you used to get your ticket and now you get ice creams in there,
but it’s not open today. Let’s carry on down and see what else cuz there are a few bits down here
that are that have changed and there are some new outlets as well. Okay, so this is a new store.
Let’s see what these guys have got for sale. Strawberries. Chocolate and strawberries. Sorry,
I’m just making a video. I hope you don’t mind. I won’t show your face. It’s okay. So, this is a
new stall. And I think that this is a very good idea. This uh makes makes use of the wasted space
if you like on the pier. So, yeah, strawberries £8 per cup, £5 for a plet, and they come all the
way from the new forest. Also, looks like they got the screen fixed. On my video, I mentioned
how some of the squares were busted. It’s a brand new screen. Looks like they fixed them. So
that’s nice. Makes it look less tired. There’s a slush factory just there. That’s new. And this one
over here outside the rock climbing center. What are they selling? Hot dogs. Oh, donuts. Right.
Looks like there’s someone ready to go down the zip wire. I’ll tell you what, if this video gets
a thousand likes, I’ll go on it. There he goes. There she goes. Got to show you. This is also another outlet here.
There’s no one here at the minute, but in here I think they sell things like um handmade gifts and
all of that sort of stuff. You see it’s like a little bamboo shelter with all all the lights. I
think more of this down here could do really well. Right, let me show you a little something that
you might not know about. Just by the pavilion, you walk in here and there is a lift. Oh, hello.
All right. I’ve just made a video showing people about this lift. Oh, what are you doing in
here then? Are you just going up and down? I’m just going up and down at the moment. Um, I’m
testing a lift alarm. Is it working? All right. I’m just waiting for response. Oh, there you
go. Oh, good afternoon. I’m just testing a lift alarm. It’s B form of pavilion. Can you hear me
loud and clear? Um, you’re not very loud. Okay, I’ll only just leave it with me. I’ll log it as a
defect. Thank you very much. Yours. Bye-bye. Bye. Thanks for that. Excited for you. Yeah, there
you go. See, that don’t happen every day. So, I’ve just had a good old chat with a guy I
just met in the lift. I’ve just gone inside the pavilion and I’ve asked if in the future
that perhaps I could do a tour of the pavilion and show you guys a bit of the history. Don’t know
if it will happen. He’s given me an email address and that, but uh yeah, we had a good old good old
conversation about the town and how Westover Road, which is this road I’m on now, has got a lot of
character, and I mention it in a lot of videos. You got an abandoned cinema literally just
there. There’s the abandoned ice skating rink, which isn’t abandoned anymore. It’s a
gym. And then you’ve got next to it, the abandoned ABC cinema, which was taken over
by the Odon. But definitely as far as roads go, in my personal opinion, this is
definitely one of the better roads. Okay, I think I’ll end the video here on
Richmond Hill, but I just want to show you real quick the Norfolk Royal Hotel. Look
at this building. Isn’t that absolutely stunning. And even better, check this
out. Free parking for 2 hours. Oh, no, it’s not parking. You got to pay at the display.
I thought it said it was free. I got excited then. Everyone loves a bit of free parking, but no, this
is an amazing building. Really, really cool. I’d love to have a look inside. I don’t think they’re
going to let me walk around and film, but I’ll give you your bearings. So, if you don’t know
Richmond Hill, that’s the road out of town. And this is the road down into town. That is literally
where the markets are and the lower gardens just there. So, if you enjoyed that video guys, do drop
me a little like on the video and also give me a nice positive comment. There’s so many negative
comments about Bournemouth and I do try and show the positive side to the town. Every town has
its positives and negatives, but it’s important that we look at the good sides. Anyway, guys,
take care and I’ll see you on the next video.

  1. The busiest place in Bournemouth on a Friday is the "community centre" for the Alan's Snackbar people.
Hundreds of cars double-parked on the pavement and double yellow lines.
Traffic wardens walking past and ignoring the cars.

  2. I have lived in Bournemouth for over 30 years but hardly ever visit the centre now as not much to interest me.
All seems too expensive to park, althoughI know the free places.
I expect silly business rates have led to many shops closing.
The beach is still great !🎉

  3. Most people shop at Castle Point since the car park has been repaired and the shops such as M&S moved there. Free plentiful parking and hassle free.

  4. Bk in 89 I was working on the big round red brick building at the top or Richmond hill and when I finished work I ust to go down the Norfolk royal use there pool and have a shower and then to my favourite place, the Pembroke arms and Pembroke shades the best pubs in town if ya know ya know 🤣🤣🇬🇧✌️

  5. I’m sure of one thing. Negativity is alive and well in Bournemouth. You people need to take your prescriptions as explained by your medical practitioners.
Perhaps the inevitable trolling of me will cheer you up? Feel free, I’m loving my life!

  6. I’m positive that I wouldn’t be living in the Bournemouth area now even if I hadn’t moved to Australia in 2015. 😂 I actually lived more in Parkstone/Lilliput area which is a lovely part of the BCP area. I have some great memories from Bournemouth, I few years ago before Covid I came back to Bournemouth with my wife, she’s from country Victoria and she loved the area.

  7. Born there, and in the 50's and 60's it was a nice quiet town, great place to grow up in, good electric trolley bus service from the outer areas of the town and the Hants and Dorset green buses would take you over to Poole. As a young nipper we would enjoy the light show in the lower gardens, fishing off of the pier waiting for the next Cosens paddle steamer to arrive. Loved visiting Beales , Bobby's and Woolworths stores and JJ Lyons for a reasonable meal. The place had character, was a safe place to enjoy yourself, sadly my family who still live there, inform me not so much anymore? I left in 85 and now live overseas and was last in the town in 1990.

  8. I was born in Bmth 78 years ago. In comparison it is a shadow of it's former self. Thanks to a Liberal council it's fulll of boat people. It was bad enough before they arrived but NO ONE IS LISTENING to the local council tax payers. This country is going to hell in a hand cart.

  9. Notice the bully boys at the beach … people don't visit the centre cus they are fed up with the Bully Boys.. .. Notice the person on the High wire .. another way Illegals are getting over from the Eiffel Tower to Bournemouth .. hey you…

  10. Thanks for the video. I grew up in Bournemouth during the 80s and 90s, moved away about 20 years ago but still go back to visit family. My last visit was back in June this year, and I was expecting it to be a hellhole based on all the doom and gloom I'd read/watched on social media, but that couldn't have been further from the truth. I thought almost everywhere was in rude health, particularly Southbourne. The town centre looked much better than it did when I visited in 2018.

  11. I was in Bournemouth for 3 nights end of May.
First time I've been to that particular seaside, too. I'm from London and it was certainly a breath of fresh air down there, and that pier was buzzing on the day I was leaving.

It was a warm day, families were out and about, gorgeous women.
The night before I left for London, I decided to take my custom 1-3am stroll I'd usually take in Hackney, but along the beach and the way I thoroughly enjoyed looking into the dark abyss of the sea horizon and the stars were spine-tingling.

I'd honestly move there from Hackney if I could find steady work and a decent 1bed flat to finally write my books and create YouTube content in peace and quiet.
London has irked me since 2012 Olympics.
