so when do we need to leave the ground completely why do cyclists need to Bunny Hop at all being able to Bunny Hop helps to keep you in control put your front wheel first then your back wheel pushing forwards on your handlebars to help bring that back wheel up and it will bring both wheels off the ground if you’re using clip-in style pedals the Rees are cheap which is that you simply pull up with your feet at the same time as pulling up with your hands as well just remember that however you do it you need to cushion the impact when you land so absorb it with your arms and your legs [Music]

  1. Did this several times on a ride last Saturday. It was compulsory as the pot holes in Surrey are a different breed. I felt like Maverick afterwards.

  2. Heres me at 89kg on a 2025 carbon tcr /w carbon wheels bunny hopping wheeleing, doing nose wheeleies, /w a backpack on…. your bike will not break if you know how to move with it.

  3. I panicked once after a speed hump appeared from under a van in front and I didn't have time to do anything else. I pulled this stunt off flawlessly with my eyes shut. Haven't dared risk the damage to my bike doing it again since

  4. I am so scared of doing this. I am also struggling to get up a curb. I have flat pedals. I want to be able to get up a curb and not have to dismount to get up.

  5. I was descending and rounding a corner in a country lane and there were people walking around it on both sides, the only gap was between them where there was a foot high bank of mud and debris. I had to bunny hop over it while turning the corner as i would have no doubt lost traction and wiped out atleast one of the people. About the only time ive ever needed to do a bunny hop but it was really handy to know how to do it.

  6. I rode BMX for a long time. Bunny hops are awesome. Relatively easy to learn, very hard to perfect. A good high BH is poetry in motion.

  7. I cannot bunny-hop for toffee, and I have spent a few hours trying. Getting the front wheel up is trivial, but the back is hard. I think having a rear hub gear and rack makes it a lot harder as the back of the bike is very heavy. I would love to be able to hop kerbs without smashing the rear wheel.
