Malta-Hochalm-Straße – Austria

La Malta-Hochalmstraße è uno degli itinerari alpini più belli della Carinzia in Austria , con un tracciato di 14,4 km conduce a una delle strutture più imponenti del paese la diga Kölnbreinsperre ( Kölnbrein ) , si erge a 1.933 metri s.l.m con la sua piattaforma panoramica Airwalk.
Tunnel scavati nella roccia e stretti tornanti è un vero capolavoro della tecnica.
Strada aperta da Maggio a Ottobre con un pedagio da pagare di € 18,00 , come tutte le strade alpine in Austria.
Lungo il percorso potete ammirare splendide cascate , la strada è regolamentata da due semafori il primo che si incontra dopo il casello dura 20 minuti e se arrivate li e è appena scattato il rosso andate a visitare la splendida cascata ( indicazioni al semaforo ) , non vi preocupate per il tempo che passa perchè anche sotto la cascata c’è un semaforo che vi indica il tempo rimanente .

The Malta-Hochalmstraße is one of the most beautiful Alpine routes in Carinthia in Austria. A 14.4 km route leads to one of the country’s most impressive structures, the Kölnbreinsperre (Kölnbrein) dam, rising to 1,933 meters above sea level with its Airwalk viewing platform.
Tunnels carved into the rock and tight hairpin bends are a true masterpiece of engineering.
The road is open from May to October, with a toll to be paid € 18,00 , like all Alpine roads in Austria.
Along the way, you can admire splendid waterfalls. The road is regulated by two traffic lights; the first one after the toll booth lasts 20 minutes. If you arrive there and the light has just turned red, go and visit the splendid waterfall (signs at the traffic lights). Don’t worry about time passing, because there is also a traffic light under the waterfall that shows you the remaining time.
