Hello, internet and well, I’ve found you again. I’m Alex, from my office here and what are we going to do today? We’re going to talk about the new tablets with CarPlay and Android Auto from AOC, namely the BM6. Do you know what that means? I want to tell you a little about it and then we’re going to take it, put it on the engine, feel the engine and give it a little ride to see exactly how it behaves on the road. And what do you need to know about it? You have a company that specializes in all kinds of displays like this, tablets, whatever you want to call them, that bring CarPlay and Android Auto integration to vehicles, cars, motorcycles, trucks and so on that don’t already have them. This is the BM6, one of their newest models and as I said, it’s special for BMW because it has this connector on the back. It’s a tablet of about 6 inches and what I liked about it is that it has a brightness of 800 nits on this screen. which seems to me to be one of the greatest values I’ve seen on the market for such devices. Of course, don’t think now that they only have tablets for BMW motorcycles. They don’t have models that are quite general, valid for all motorcycles, that is, those that don’t have this special connector. You’ll find those on their website. They have a fairly large selection of models in addition to these specific to BMW, they also have those that integrate dashcams, Ford pre-installation systems. You just have to open their website on deaoci.com and take a look there. But today, no, I had a BMW motorcycle when Ao contacted me and on this occasion I must mention that this is not a paid video, but I received this review unit for free and when Aochi contacted me he suggested another model and I said: “Well, no, I have a BMW motorcycle, I’m not going to put another mount on it, I’m going to get other brands. If you have a specific BMW one, send me that.” and I said perfect. We have this new model BM6 and BM7. BM7 is the 7-inch version. This is 6, as I mentioned, because it’s 6 inches, but I thought that it already looked like the unit I already have. It was also 7 inches, about the same resolution, if not the same resolution. And I wanted to see what a 6-inch higher resolution one was like, because my point of interest was this resolution, this difference in resolution that on 6 inches is higher than on 7-inch tablets, these kind of CarPlay and Android Auto tablets and when he said yes we’ll send you that and I said perfect, let’s send it to me and let’s see what’s up with it. Now, in addition to all this stuff, I want to tell you from the beginning, in case you don’t stay until the end of the video, I also received a discount code. Yes, you can purchase with the code Alex on the deli motor from that site and get 22% off. But I don’t know when you see this clip, but if you see it when it comes out, know that until November 5, 2025 they have a special offer and with the code Alex on the motor 25 you will receive a 25% discount, so bigger than the normal discount. And besides that, in the package you will also receive a flashlight for free worth about $ 60 70, something like that, my mother informed the marketing team at Ochi, which seems like a pretty good deal to me. I mean, you stay with and with the flashlight and with enough money in your pocket. In case you are also thinking of adding to your motorcycle or not only to your motorcycle, but here we are on the motorcycle channel, you should still add a tablet like this with CarPlay or Android Auto to your motorcycle. And why do this? We discussed this topic in previous videos. Motorcycle navigations are quite poor, including Garmin, Tom Tom, the quality of the screens, the quality of the software, the quality of the hardware, plus they are insufficient. It is much better to have CarPlay or Android Auto where you have Waze, where you have Google Maps, where more recently you also have Magic Earth, which is an extremely cool navigation application and we will talk about it next year. You can use your phone, that is, see who is calling you while you are on the motorcycle, without interacting with the physical phone, because it appears on your tablet, you can talk to Siri, what is the name of Google, Google Assistant and so on. So I don’t want to re-enter this topic why a tablet is much better than a classic motorcycle navigator. See previous videos on this topic. I maintain my point of view. It is much, much more valuable to have Android Auto or Apple CarPlay on your motorcycle in front of you than a traditional navigation. And of course the discount codes that I mentioned earlier are valid for all models from them on the site. And what do you need to know about the ACH BM6? As I said, it is an Android Auto/Apper CarPlay tablet with 6-inch diagonals, IP67 dust and moisture resistance , if I’m not mistaken, if I remember correctly. The good part is that when you purchase such a unit you have the option to choose. Do you want them with pressure sensors or not, because if you don’t need them, there’s no point in buying them, which means that as a cing you will have some money left in your pocket. Now, what’s more interesting about this unit, and I’m being very honest when I say interesting, is that I think it’s the only one in this price range, that we’ll discuss the price right away, you see, it’s pretty much the best on the market from the research I’ve done so far. But it’s the only one in this price category that comes with integrated GPS. That is, the unit itself has the chip, the modem with which it communicates with the satellites for your location and supports both GPS and GLONAS, the Russian positioning system. It would be cool if it also supported the European Galileo, it would be even cooler, but currently only GPS and Glonass. And why is this important? Because with CarPlay at least, I don’t know about Android Auto for sure, but with CarPlay what happens when the phone is connected either physically with the cable, or wirelessly, as in the case of CarPlay, with a unit like this, it will try not to use its internal GPS, but to use the vehicle’s, in our case the unit, the BM6. And why does it do this? one thing is that it puts less strain on the phone and the processing it has to do, because the unit, in this case, communicates with the satellite for your current location or with the satellites for your current location and transmits that information back to the phone for location processing. two things, if it doesn’t need to do that, to put this extra strain on the phone for GPS, it means your phone will use less battery. again, because the processing will only be done at the software allocation level, not software and hardware, as is normally the case when you use your phone for location. And now let’s quickly see what’s inside the package. The box is pretty simple, there’s no point in getting into debates about it and let’s see this right from the start. You see that I opened the box before, just so I wouldn’t have to bother because if I left it completely closed it would take me about two minutes to remove this lid because it’s really tight. But yes, we have the unit here. It comes in this little plastic bag. Let’s put it aside and see what else we have underneath. The contents of the box are quite simple. First we have a screwdriver to access these screws here and there. These are the ones to remove this sunshade, the visor, whatever you want to call it. And these here for the card. Access to the MicroOS card that can be installed and access to the USB C port. And we’ll see right away what this USB C port is good for. This here are the TPMS sensors, tire pressure monitoring system, that is, the tire pressure sensors with the installation key and I see that there are some gaskets here and an instruction manual. Instruction manual that I should start reading one day or in general instruction manuals that I should start reading one day. And look, I managed to start with the USB C charger, I charge the phone with the cable that I tried before, USB C from a 65 W battery, they didn’t manage to start, but with this one they did. So that’s what the USB C port is for if you want to power it up outside the bike, like in the house like we are right now. Now speaking of the display, I told you before, it’s 6 inches, it has a resolution of 1440 by 720 pixels, which is quite interesting because the resolution on this 6-inch unit is higher than other 7-inch units on the market, which you don’t really see. I mean, you would expect a higher resolution on a larger display, but in this case, no. This is a smaller display, a higher resolution. That being said, it also has 60 frames per second. I mean, 60 frames per second it can render the screen and has an autodimming function, meaning automatic brightness. The brightness is made brighter and dimmer, depending on the brightness outside around you, so that you can always see on the screen when you’re outside on a bright day and it doesn’t blind you when you’re in the dark because you practically don’t walk at night, I enter a dark place, things like that, the brightness around you drops, this display. You’ve probably had this happen to phones, cars, things like that. If they don’t have automatic brightness, you enter that tunnel, it gets dark around you and suddenly the brightness on the screen blinds you instantly. And now before we go to the engine, I want to talk a little about the price. Its full price, I wrote it down here, is 1681 RON, but right now with the code Alex on motor 25 with a 25% discount, meaning its price comes to 1260 RON, which seems like a super good price to me, especially since I told you that you also get a free flashlight worth $68 with this money. But if you don’t need this BMW unit or you have a BMW but don’t want to spend that much money, you want to go for the cheaper unit, I looked at their websites and saw a C6, it seems to say, yes, C6 Pro, which I liked because it also has cameras and some antift, antitheft, that is, which I don’t know exactly how it works and I don’t have its briefing to see it to tell you, but some antitheft function exists and as I said, cameras, which means dash cams, traffic cameras to put in front and back of the motorcycle and that with the discount with the code Alex on the 25 motor it comes to only 752 RON, which seems to me to be a super mega tip because it’s a display of the same size of 6 inches. It’s not a display from 5 because five already seems extremely small to me, much too small for such tablets that are used as navigation systems 90% of the time. So it’s still 6 inches and 750 RON seems like a great price if you don’t need this integration part with BMW motorcycles. And with that being said, it’s time to get on the bike, see exactly how it handles, how it looks in the light, how the screen looks, how it works when touched with gloves, how big the UI elements are, how easy it is to use, how responsive it is, how easily the screen responds to interaction with the finger and the glove. And being a BMW model, it also supports integration with the BMW wheel, with the Wonder Wheel. So, let’s see how that works. No, and let’s go, we’re at our first failure with it. The only thing I did was mount it in the garage. It mounts very easily. You can see that all these units that come on the mount have official BMW approval. For the rest of the models, you’ll have to look on the website to see what types of mounting they have on the motorcycle. I expect it to come as well as any unit like this with CarPlay and Android Auto to come. Ho, what wind? I hope you hear me. Ok. with support for navigation bar and power directly to the battery or USB, because I don’t think these consume more than 5 V while the USB is spinning. Okay, this is the main screen, which I saw earlier at the garage. You see that you have all the information. It now reads it from the sensor on the motorcycle mount. I have speed, I have pressure, I have tires, I have an inclination. This shows me that I am connected to GPS. The pressure sensor is working, that I have wireless turned on because CarPlay also works. I paired my phone with it and I have CarPlay active in the background. Besides that, what else can you see here on it? Let’s start with this second icon. That’s it, mate. The brightness shows me that it is at maximum, which is a very interesting point to discuss now because I go with the sun. What time is this? It was 2:00, so it wasn’t right behind me and visibility on this black screen is pretty good. I mean I can see perfectly what’s going on there. I just want you to keep in mind that I currently have the factory film still on it. I think it’s visible down here. I haven’t taken it off yet and I don’t know if I will because I don’t think I’ll be able to buy another one. So I’ll probably leave it on. And this film that’s on the screen now is a matte film. So that could also blur it a bit. or change the clarity of the image in these bright sunny conditions like I am now and I am I’m glad I expected it to be cloudy today and we wouldn’t be able to do this test, but we’ll see it better right away when we turn on CarPlay, how it looks. Yes. The next thing here is a button I don’t know what to call it, let’s say dashboard. The third button, like this, where I have the revs, current, speed, what gear I have. Wait so I’m also paying attention to the road at this moment. I have to be paying attention to the road at this moment. The outside temperature, the battery voltage, the pressure again, the range, how much gas I have left in the tank, that is, the engine temperature and the degree of inclination, all this information read from the motorcycle on that official BMW port to put the navigation on it. And you realize that if you take an NBMW unit that doesn’t have, no, you just connect it to the motorcycle’s power supply, you basically won’t see this information on a green North B unit, because I don’t think it has anywhere to read it and I don’t know if there are any versions that have some connection through a B2 to the motorcycle to read it. But ignoring these, the information is quite complete. It shows me that I still have gas. I think the turn signals are working too. No, I saw the turn signals at the garage too, they don’t read it properly . You see that I turn signals and it doesn’t appear here. But instead the brakes, if I squeeze the front brake a little, came on. Both of them came on, the ones in the chain brakes, but they came on. Those are cold. Okay, let’s go back to home. And here we have another settings screen. What did I like about this settings screen? Since I have an auxiliary button that I don’t know exactly what it does and look, I found out in the meantime what the auxiliary button is for. If I give it a tab. Let’s activate it. Okay, it should be on. We go back to CarPlay and see here this is the auxiliary button. It puts a button on the display that you can move wherever you want and you have accessed two things. Once home to take you back here and once a brightness button. Okay, now it’s set to auto. I’ll close it. That’s it. The Screen Saver also has some setting to enter a screen saver after 1 2 3 minutes. But I disabled it. The brightness, tire pressure test. I think that’s to read with the sensors that you saw that I received in the package. The language doesn’t have Romanian. I looked. The Connection History units and there was something else down here. Let’s see formatting. Formatted the card because it has a card slot. I don’t know exactly what this card is for. Maybe it can be installed together with front and rear cameras and the card would be for saving the footage. I didn’t receive the cameras and I’m not going to install them. I wouldn’t install something like that because I drive around all day with the headset on the card, so I’m not allowed to. And the version without. Okay. What’s left of this? This first CarPlay and Android Auto button and if I press it, Android Auto doesn’t open. And now you see my main Carplay screen. And what can we notice here? First of all, it’s, how should I say, quite cluttered, being a more loaded interface, both the CarPlay and Android Auto interface and this smaller display with a higher resolution or rather a fairly large resolution for such a unit. Things seem a bit small and cramped to me. I mean, the main conditions, let’s say if I want to enter Waze, are quite ok and convenient and big. Yes, but if you look at these icons on the left, these are quite small. When I want to hit, no, I hit them and the thing is that it works great with gloves, so it’s very responsive with gloves, even with this film that I left on it. But some icons and UI elements, look like the clock up here or the LD or if I open Waze again, even if it’s text and you don’t have to touch them. As we can see in the bottom left, they have 139 hours left and the remaining distance of 90 km etc. They seem quite small to me on this 6-inch display. And compared to when I filmed that, I also found a solution for the small size of the icons, which I said bothered me and the small size of the text. It’s a setting in CarPlay. Actually , you have to go to settings and once we get here to the smart display zoom display. I close this and it did a refresh and you can see that from the start I have all the content here significantly larger, so it’s much better. It’s not the unit’s fault, it’s the fault of iOS 26 that activated that thing by default and that’s why the cones appeared so small. Now it’s much, much, much better . But otherwise I have the light from the front. Now I see a little full because it also has a bezel around it. But even with the brightness at maximum now. So as it is now with the brightness at maximum it looks super ok. It doesn’t look very bright, very bright. Clearly there’s no problem bothering how bright it is, but at the moment as I can see perfectly what’s on the screen I would have liked it a little brighter, but I’m bothered by the brightness now. No, because at the moment it’s on auto and I assume it’s at maximum, but still let’s not talk nonsense. Let’s test it. It’s very responsive. Press. Don’t press. Automatic brightness. Let’s see. I disabled it. Let’s take this curve too. I disabled automatic brightness. Let’s go back. It remained deactivated. Yes. And we go to home and I think from here. Yes, it’s at maximum brightness anyway. Yes. So that’s all it can do. I activate the automatic brightness back, because it’s clear. Yes, I would have liked to see a little brighter. Yes, it bothers me how much it is. No, absolutely not at all because I can see perfectly. Look, now I tried to find Was, but I can’t, being so small the conditions of the door and I found the Sturi bridge application. So, as for movement, how it moves and how much it moves. It seems super ok to me, absolutely this whole category of devices. neither too much nor very very very S There could instead be a problem here and caused by my current environment in which I am testing, namely the fact that it is quite cool outside and the engine has been in the garage with this on for about half an hour and it has been in the garage without moving and yet it is cold outside at 10° because these displays and I tell you this from experience that less with other models and a little and including those in the car if you don’t have something merchant to have some integrated display, super slick and fancy and expensive. In general these more budget, I repeat, actually like the ones I have on my car when it gets cold they get a little smellier and respond a little harder. Probably being a ULD display, so liquid crystals, liquid, that liquid is chemically affected, I probably say, I don’t know if I’m not saying it right, correct me, if I’m talking nonsense, take me down in the comments. if they are exposed to the cold for a long time, they become sluggish, they respond a little harder to interaction with them. See? But it’s so fluent when it moves and sets in motion. It’s fluent. And the same thing, don’t say it’s about the hand and the same thing I saw it and when I played a little with my fingers on the screen without a glove. Well, what I don’t like about it, I couldn’t connect the headset via Bluetooth, that is, with the cardo. I don’t know how to do that. I didn’t see any Bluetooth menu for connecting the headset and when I tried to card it with the cardo I found it. If you guys know better and think I’m doing it wrong, again, tell me in the comments how I could do that because now I don’t plan on connecting my card to it anyway. my current configuration as I have it and I explained it to you in the past videos , namely the phone connected to the cardo and the phone connected separately to its perfect unit for me. That’s how I’ve been using it for a while and that’s how I want to continue using it because I get the best sound quality, both in the headset so I can listen to the microphone from the cardo when I talk to someone on the phone during the hour, but still, I just want to say that it’s strange that I didn’t see that. That’s something I don’t like when I saw the Bluetooth menu to connect it to my Pardo. Look, it gave me an error with the rear pressure sensor. I don’t know why . Because it still reads the pressure in the front. It reads it in the back. 2.9. So it’s some kind of humidity bug. Good. Another thing I don’t like is that as big as it is, the display is very small inside it. So you see these thick and very strange bezels. It seems to me that there’s a lot of wasted space. Now, if you made it so big, and I understand that it’s possible that so much space was needed inside for the internal components, not for the screens, well, guys, take €30 more and put a bigger display that covers this entire area or something. part of this area, that I don’t like the shape. I expected to dislike it so wide. You see it’s quite wide compared to other units, other models that are more expensive. I expected not to like it so much, but I like it. It really doesn’t bother me. But I do mind this waste of space and these mega-rough borders here. I don’t know what to say. On the other hand, what I really like, abstracting from CarPlay, are these natural interfaces, these that you see before you connect to CarPlay and this, this dashboard with tachometer and speedometer and compass and compass and other information icons are very cool and quite complete. I mean, in the idea that if you don’t connect yours all the time, maybe there are people who don’t automatically connect CarPlay or Android Auto to a unit like this, maybe I don’t need something cooler to look at all the time . I like it. So I really like this interface. This is more complex than that. It seems a bit more rudimentary to me. It’s not bad or anything, but I’m not impressed that it’s about average. Not too much, not very much. Another thing that I realize at this moment is that this unit looks much better this way, smaller and wider, less bulky and more extended on the motorcycle. It’s like, at least this BMW one, somehow it integrates better. I mean aesthetically it’s more pleasing than a bigger and more square one. It’s just an extra thing. I don’t know if it matters to anyone, but I just wanted to tell you that it’s my opinion and I do what I want with it. Aha. And that’s what came to my mind now when someone comes and sees this Auci. Do you know what they say? No. Wow, it looks good. And we have one more test to do before we finish this semi-view, whatever you want to call it. The fact that it connects directly to the BMW navigation setup means that it should also work with the Wonderwhel. Yes, with the motorcycle’s control wheel. Let’s see. Now I’m on TFT, so I have to hold up for 5 seconds and recognize it. I knew I would recognize it when it appears on my dashboard when I start the motorcycle that I recognize it with a unit. Let’s see how it goes. So I go down. Good. It selects down, up. Let’s go into the podcast app. I selected. I do a scroll. I go up again. I want to go to that back. How do I do back? Like this. Perfect. And come on, I want to get out completely. I want to go home like this. And now I make a good turn and open Waze again. Where is Waze? Look here. And I turn right once to select and that’s it. I call back to Waze. So even that, including this works perfectly and the control with the BMW underwhel, which is good to know. And I think it’s time for conclusions, because more than that I don’t know what to tell you about it after an hour, an hour and a half of use. We’ll probably come back in time. Over time I’ll give my opinion about it in other videos or if it gives me any problems, you’ll definitely see in the next few minutes’ video. But that being said, these are my conclusions. I told you the good and the bad. Again, I reiterate, this is not a paid video, it’s a sponsored video. I didn’t get paid to make this video, I just got this review unit for free. Now, if they don’t like the clip, it means that from the next clip you’ll see me without it because they’ll probably ask me back, but we’ll see if they don’t like the opinion, if they do like it in return and this as part of my conclusions, I’ll keep this unit for a while because I like it, I’m starting to get used to it. Although the shortcomings, especially with the very small interface due to the small screen and the resolution, I think are very high, although it bothers me visually and from time to time I press harder on these buttons, I like it. I like how it looks, I like how it looks, I like how it moves and how it integrates. I told you, it’s all mine and I’m keeping it. But you tell me in the comments what you think, how you think you would like such a unit of the eye that is a little smaller and with a higher resolution or a physically larger unit and with a lower resolution so that you have a more readable interface with interface elements with UI elements that are easier to reach. Especially since we are on two rocks much. If you’re not a subscriber yet, I’d like to ask you to consider, to leave me a subscription. I’d like to ask you to consider it so that I can see that I’ve lost my mind. How ugly if you’re not a member of the channel and would like to support the channel, you can become a member. You have a join button below or if you don’t have that, you have a link in the description to become a member of the channel. You have links to the AOCI website. You have the discount codes you need to benefit from the prices I talked about today. What else can you do? If you are here, hit the like, share buttons, hit a comment. Just please, be polite, I will delete rude comments. Tell me what you think of this unit. Do you think it is a good price-quality ratio? Because it seems super good to me. So, I investigated with my dear friends from the Alex community on the motor the prices on the market available for this category of CarPlay and Android Auto devices and we all came to the conclusion or I think we all came to the conclusion that currently AOCi have the best prices in this category of devices, which seems megapond to me, but leave me your opinion down in the comments or specific to this device Or you can go to the comments and tell me that you use a phone and I should pay me to do these reviews even if I said that I don’t have any money and the phone is better and blah blah blah. You’re not right, but you can go help me with a comment like that. And of course, if you have a hype button down there, slap that one too. Especially if you’re on a phone or tablet you should have it because it helps me a lot with the algorithm. And thanks for sticking around here and until next time don’t forget to be good to yourselves, be good to each other and let’s have dry asphalt.
