Pic 1 (Stock), Pic 2 (Upgrades)
Recently picked up a Trek Madone SL5 Gen 8 for S$3,999 (closeout sale) — came stock with alloy wheels and a 105 mechanical 12-speed groupset.
Upgraded it with:
– Ultegra Di2 12-speed
– T47 24mm ceramic BB
– Waxed chain
– Zipp 303 SE with Continental GP5000 S TR and latex tubes (Tubeless I'm the future)
Total upgrade cost was around S$2,000 (got the wheelset from my brother 🤭).
Super happy with how it turned out — feels fast, smooth, and just right. Bought it brand new this time, after riding a secondhand rim-brake bike before… so I guess this officially counts as my first proper road bike. NBD to me! 🥂
