JOGLE FINALE: Crossing into England, Dog Chases, Crashes & the Final Push to Land’s End!
22 days, over a thousand miles, and an adventure I’ll never forget! This video covers the final stretch of my JOGLE (John o’ Groats to Land’s End) cycling challenge.

From dodging a £200 hotel bill and shedding a massive 15kg of gear in Preston, to battling horrible headwinds, getting soaked in the England/Wales borderlands, and a brutal bike crash (nearly into a canal!), this section had it all.

Follow the final push through the dramatic Cornish hills, the terrifying sound of completely worn-out brake pads, and the final, emotional finish line at Land’s End.

Could I make it with a squealing bike and non-stop bad weather? Watch to find out!

I’m actually so bloody tired. It’s insane. This is part two of cycling from Jonno Gro to Land’s End. In the last part, we completed Scotland. It took us 10 days and now we’re ready to conquer England and reach our goal, which is Land’s End. After staying in a campsite place called Longtown, it was £20 for the campsite. Now that we’re in England, we have to be careful about wild camping cuz it’s illegal. You just have to do a thing called stealth camping. Wow. Road closed for 20 weeks. So, you have to divert for I assume it’s like a power grid station. So, we kind of went through Carlile. It was a bit boring. So, I didn’t film any of it. And it’s been a bit of an uphill day today. It’s a better day than yesterday. It’s not following some sort of a road. We’re heading to Penri where Alex stayed last night. I don’t think we’ll be catching up with him anytime soon. I was still feeling pretty knackered today. I stopped off at Penri. I was trying to find myself a hotel because I was knackered and I really just wanted another rest day and cut my day short. It’s the weekend so everything was super expensive and I tried to book a premier in but it was £200 and thank god I missed it and it was fully booked. I had no excuse and I had to camp. Holy steep. Look at these walls, mate. God knows where nail bloody built. I mean, they’re protected, aren’t they? And they’re so sick. Come on. Come on, son. That one looks like a buddy little staff or something. Come on, doggy. Come on. Hello. Nearly there, eh? 30 mph. Jesus Christ. I cycled 83 km today all the way to a place called Auton where I stayed at a working farm which was a tenner and it was run by the most lovely people who charged my power pack overnight. Tomorrow we’re going to head to Preston. I think it’s day 12 of cycling end to end UK edition or day 11. I don’t know. I’ve forgotten the days. Who knows? Who cares? I would like a hotel tonight. Please, God. I haven’t slept in a bed for a week. It’s getting to me. Look how pictures that would be without that motorway in the way. 5 miles in. Easy peasy. I think maybe. Probably not. Some of the road was a bit dangerous, but you can’t really just cycle the whole cycle network down to Land’s End. You have to go on some roads. Uh, which is unfortunate cuz some of them people are speeding on and it scares the [ __ ] out of you. Oh, here we go. That looks like a tight bend, but we need the speed into here. Into there. And right up. Whoa. Come on. You legend. Jesus. Lewis Hamilton. Watch out. Hi, future Alex. Uh, just cycling past a farmstead gate and it was open. A [ __ ] dog came flying out literally probably about 30 cm from my leg barking. Never been so scared in my life. And I’m not scared of dogs at all. You know that. You’re me. Yeah. Need got bit by a dog. Here’s some swans that scare the [ __ ] out of me. Or geese, whatever they are. We’re just cycling along the canal on our way to Preston. And I’ve decided that I’m going to take a rest day in in Preston because it’s cheap. Thanks to everyone who’s been following me on this journey and the support I’ve received on YouTube shorts and Tik Tok. I’d appreciate it loads if you could like, comment, and subscribe. Cheers. put you there. Right, here we are. Hotel Travalago. Oh, we are having a rest day. First one in seven days. So, um I think today we’re going to do some errands because there’s a few things I’m I haven’t used for days now, like my cooking set. Um paracord, this is heavy. I’ve got extra temp pegs. I don’t use the thermos. There’s a few tools that I don’t use. Um, I’m going to box it up and I’m going to send it home. So, uh, and I’m going to hopefully get rid of the rear panas and hopefully that’ll make the bike a bit more stable cuz still got a long way to go. Wish I’d done it in the first place, but today we’ve got time to sort stuff out. So, come with me. Well, maybe not. I don’t think I’ll bring you with me. I stayed at the Claremont Hotel, which was so cheap at around 50 quid a night, and I ended up staying two nights. The staff were just amazing. I ended up sending over 15 kg of gear home and hopefully making the bike lighter. So, we’ve left the comfort of the hotel room. It was actually really good. My plan is to make it past Southport and Liverpool today to Chester. So, let’s go. We’re out of Preston and we’re on our way to Southport. Nice quiet bridge. Today we’re cycling to Chester, which is over 100 km, which will take us past Southport and Liverpool. I regret the decision to go through Southport because the headwind was just insane. Finally, we’re away from the beach. That was a idea. I mean, it sounded good in my head going along Southport, but that headwind was awful. Bit sandy. Would mind a mountain bike for this suspension, not my ass and my hands. We arrived at Liverpool and we walked to the Liverpool waterfront where we took a short ferry across. It’s funny because Google Maps actually wanted me to cycle on the motorway through the tunnel, which you’re not allowed to do. So, we got the ferry. It was scenic. It was a nice break from the bike. And then we cycled 20 mi of loads of dust, loads of headwind, and it was basically on a main road. The wind has just been in my face all day. Oh my god, I’m fuming. And there is the icing on the cake. The thing is closed. Hello and welcome to day 14. I think it is uh it’s horrible today. I’m standing under a tree and I’m still getting drenched. Uh I don’t know if you can see over there, but there’s the Rexom sign. I just want to go home. It’s been uh it’s been tough. Uh you know, even though I’m more than halfway, it is really taxing. I’m egging to get to to Land’s End. Really, today, if you can believe it, was the first day of rain. 15 days we waited for the rain and here it is. We’re not very happy bunny today. At this point, we’re just we’re kind of darting in between Wales and England. We saw the Rexom sign, famous for their football club. I’ve got to mention the sun’s come out which is uh which is which is great. You know, I was soaked and I’m drying off. We’re going to a campsite in a place called Bishop’s Castle. I’m going to put you there. Let me put 150 in there. And they’re going to take that last bit of brownie for $150. Look at that. I bet it’s delicious. There’s a message just for me. Ain’t that nice? This was one of the days where I just wanted the trip to be over. I would regret everything if I if I gave up now. Day 16. No face cam today as I was feeling exhausted from a poor night’s sleep in the tent. We started off at Green Caravan Park in Bishop’s Castle and our plan is to get to Heraford. We pass Lello Castle, which was the highlight of the day. This piece of history dates back to 1086. Can you believe that? Then towards the end of the day, we got caught on a muddy, unavoidable trail. We turned up at Oliver’s guest house in Heraford, covered in mud. Great. Just got told off by lumberjack. Shouldn’t have been down here. Now today we’re cycling from Heraford to Chepto. Not a long day. The weather was quite nice. And we cycled past Skenrith Castle, which was a key fortress guarding the Welsh border. Built in the 1200s, is a part of a chain of castles defending against the Welsh uprising. This one was complete with a moat and thick stone walls. And today, it’s one of the three castles you can still explore for free in Monmouth Shere. Am I Am I pronouncing that right? Let’s hope I am. We stayed in a nice pub, B&B in Chepto. Uh the poor owner, bless him, was moaning about how his business is going under because CO ruined everything. I think it’s day 17 of cycling end to end UK edition. I crashed my bike today on a canal path. I was so close to falling in the canal, but I fell over and really hurt my knee. So that’s a great start, isn’t it? So, here we are. We’re crossing the river 7. At this point, I’m kind of confused whether I’m in Wales or England. I’m still seeing signs in Welsh, so I imagine that I’m on the Welsh side. We’re just crossing into England from Wales. And we’re going to Taton. It’s a nice view, but it’s a bit of a windy day. Come on, England. Um, here’s the English sign. This was actually a really flat day, but it was really windy. I had a headwind all day and it actually made it really tiring. The weather wasn’t too great. At least it wasn’t raining. We actually got a puncher this day, the first one of the trip. A nice liver puddling man came out of his caravan and asked if I wanted any help. So, thank you, Gary. I appreciate your help, but I was already kind of done by the time he’d come out. We cycled past a place called Bridgewater, and we stayed at a place called Marin House Hotel in Taton. There’s a cute little B&B. Nice old house. Are we in Devon yet? I think so. We’ve skipped a day. Oh my god, no. Yesterday was honestly show. The weather was so bad. We only got 57 km done. Honestly, I’m just trying to get to L’s End at this point. I need to get back to work. Oh, this is probably the real reason I haven’t been filming in the past three days probably is cuz it’s just been one raining on and off. It’s raining really heavy now. And two, it’s just been wind in my face and the roads haven’t been that great. This is a nice This would be a really nice ride if it was nice weather. But I’m standing I’m still getting soaked under this tree. I don’t know if you can see that well on the camera, but honestly, I’m getting soaked, which is unfortunate. My friend Alex is about to finish today. Well done, Alex. You’re built different, mate. I don’t know how you done it. Anyway, after cycling in the rain for the past couple of days, but my bike’s starting to squeal in weird places. Just need to clean the chain at some point cuz it’s it’s not changing gear very well. But finally, we’re in Cornwall, the final county of the trip. And Cornwall is going to be a difficult one. Come on. I don’t even know what day it is. I think it’s day 20 or something. Cornwall is just this. And it’s just no fun cuz you can’t go down the hills fast in case of transit comes up at 70 mph cuz it’s a national speed limit. Anyway, positive vibes. The place I stayed at yesterday was like a farm. Was really nice and Cornish. She’s lovely. I know there’s a bridge, but we’re going to go. Hello, little boy. Hello, little boy. Little doggy. My rear brake is not working very well at all. My front one’s all right. You’re coming with me. You’re coming to land with me. Yeah, daddy. And the weather seems to be nice. So, let’s enjoy it. We ate a Cornish pasti and a half. And um yeah, feeling better. Last day. Spent the last night in a uh little pod. Okay, last day. It’s earlyish. It’s 7:30. Um, and we’re going to we’re going to make our way to Land’s End. 48 miles. It’s going to be going to be a great day. Hopefully the bike will work properly as it hasn’t. Cool. Bloody hell, we’re here. It’s the last day. This has been one of the best experiences of my life. Some people find it easy, some people find it hard. I think people are capable of doing more than they can imagine. If you have the opportunity to do this, whether it’s on a a motorcycle, a bike, an ebike, a car, Jonno Gro to L’s End, it’s it’s a good time. There it is. I can see it. We’re far mile and a bit away. Come on, son. Get in there. I’m here now. It’s over. Thank God. Oh my god. It’s over. Oh, it’s over. Thank God. Once again, thank you for everyone for following, commenting. Um, it’s been great and hopefully I’ll make some videos in the future, but all the best. Cheers.

  1. Great stuff!! I tried the other way round, once, and I made it to Largs (just south of Glasgow), but had to call it a day because of terrible blisters on my ass!! The consequences of cycling in the rain for many days and not having any Chamois cream!! 😜. Fair play to you! 😁😁😁
