Hi,

I bought a bike and have to do a lot of maintenance on it. Looking at the hubs, I have a doubt about the nuts/washers organisation, and think one of the previous owners flipped all the inner locknuts (B on my pic)

  • Pic 1 : the way the nuts/washers are currently set.
  • Pic 2 : detail of nuts/washers, giving them a name and current orientation on the bike
  • Pic 3 : other side of nut/washers.

Currently, B is used as a locknut against A, with the round and splined part against A and the "half squared part" against the fork.

And both sides of both hubs are set this way …

I think B should be flipped to have the splined part against the fork.

To get in order:

  • A (round part against the bearing, half-squared part against B)
  • B (half-squared part against A, round part with splined surface against fork)
  • C (splined surface against fork, smooth surface against D)
  • and then D

…Is it right?
