[Music] bikes for Baghdad is a group of guys that come over here to the Middle East to perform uh BMX shows for the armed services over here they believe that if they can bring a little bit of home and a little bit of fun and familiarity they can help them get through their time out here in the desert even if it’s just for a few hours for a couple nights it really helps them to forget you know how far away they are from their families and that they’re just out here in the middle of the desert protecting our freedom my name is Major tone I’m flying out here in Southwest Asia flying to You2 how’s going on Lieutenant Zach Bradford uh flying Global Hawks down here in Southwest Asia yeah it’s great I mean that’s at the end of the day you know we’re it’s kind of one team one fight we’re all Americans and uh just get to interact with them on a personal basis like that them showing their support for us it really means a lot so we really appreciate it you guys come out here and do these shows it just brings a little bit of home out here uh the guys out here doing the mission every day kind of lose side of uh things back home having the support when you guys come out here just brings it back bikes that were bagged up started seven or eight years ago um my band had been asked to come over and play a few years earlier to make a long story short we started sending other entertainment over other bands and just every time they came over I kept thinking you look at the troops they’re like mostly male Adrenaline Junkies I was like this is perfect for Action Sports we need to do something Chad kegi is an old school Nitro guy I mean he’s been around before the tours even started but he was on the first tour and you know did one of the biggest tricks anyone’s ever done the uh the the transfer from the Gigan ramp to the fmx Lander and when he reached out to us and said hey can you guys help us out a little bit with bikes Over Baghdad we thought there’s no way we can’t do this uh we had to help out how can we not give just a little bit back to the men and women uh of the armed services who basically give the ultimate sacrifice for us I think first thing to talk about is the similarity between the troops and bikes Over Baghdad and why it works so well I mean these are all guys that are kind of like to look fear in the face they like challenging is they they like going where nobody else is gone they like pushing the limits I mean it’s it’s very much the same with Nitro circuits you’ve got guys that are pushing the limits on a daily basis and trying to raise the bar and do things that people probably thought was imp were impossible a few years earlier and I just I think that’s a certain breed of [Music] [Applause] people it’s not only an amazing show but they get to have a connection with some of their Heroes that they just never would have had otherwise and I think that’s something that just sticks with them for a long [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] time doing the same thing every single day gets repetitive and monotonous we come out here to do these shows to kind of like just it’s a morale boost but but it also makes it so that they you know feel like something fresh has happened something new is going on it’s probably one of the most uh tangible aspects of uh giving these guys a chance to get a break away from their daily duties and uh just get a taste at home there’s connections that are made that go beyond just this night from the very first show we did in Baghdad we had one of the troops come through and thank us for making her forget she was in a desert for 2 hours and we all looked at each other and went I don’t care where this takes us we’re going to keep doing these the reality is these guys come back every year because I believe that they’re doing it for the right reasons it’s genuine it’s not fake people can tell bikes Over Baghdad to me has been the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done in my professional BMX career you know there can be you know X Games medals there can be magazine covers there can be video parts and while all that’s great and it’s fun nothing has been as rewarding is this I really you know it’s like no matter what I tell anybody they’ll never understand what the true meaning is for this trip for me once you can come over and really give everything you have and see people’s lives change and see them happy and see them walk away with energy they didn’t have when they showed up it makes you want to do that every day and I truly believe that something as simple as bikes of Bagdad changes a lot of lives all right [Music] and I go way way out and I go way oh oh I’m

  1. Really appreciate you guys doing what you do for those who serve. I have family serving, and I got a picture message of an event you help this week actually. They were so happy! Thank you.

  2. Reading through these comments proves how the average person has no idea what these guys are trying to do for these soldiers. Who cares whether you think the US is in a country for the wrong reasons, or whether or not you consider soldiers as heroes. Face the facts people, these men are only here because the government has chosen to send them there. They chose to serve our country, regardless if they believed in the cause they were obligated to carry out or not. Blame the US government if you must, but these soldiers are just doing their jobs, and I'll be damned if you think being so far away from their families and friends doesn't warrant a little piece of home being brought to help with their burden of service. Start blaming the men whose fault it really is for them being there if you disagree with it, and not the men obligated to carry out those orders.

  3. I was in such a good mood until i looked at the comments thinking there would be nice, thankful people ,but i get my blood pressure to rise just reading everyone bitching about this and that. its disgusting.

  4. The nitro circus dudes are such good people they give off such a good vibe and they are always smiling i look up to these dudes

  5. Saw these guys before, helped set up for them. Tried to talk to them the day after when they weren't in front of the camera guys and they wouldn't even give any of us the time of day. Take the pictures, hand out a bike or two, and leave once the tour is done. thanks guys smh.

  6. Apparently everyone care about the U.S. military killing " inocent " people but no one cared when in World War Two we dropped two atomic bombs on China and killed millions of people.

  7. I swear to fuck if I see one more comment about "These serial killers should go die in a pit" Or some bull like that, I'm gonna straight up enlist when I am able to. I don't care where you are from, there is bad government everywhere. The people brave enough to serve for what they believe in deserve love and support, not hate from their own country. I know not everyone is from the USA, but many I have seen here and elsewhere are. These people make me sick. Go picket in front of the the government if it's such a big deal.

DON'T EVER SIT BEHIND A FUCKING COMPUTER AND BASH MEN AND WOMEN WHO STAND FOR WHAT THEY BELIEVE IN.

I don't care what army, what country. Every army deserves to be respected and not talked shit about by some fucker behind a screen.

If you hate it so much go move to the imaginary country where there is no corruption, no self centered power hungry people, and a perfect life.

Nowdays people have respect for nothing but themselves. At least in ancient times like Greece, armies respected each other and their sacrifice, and were hailed as heroes upon return.

  8. When was the US not a 'free country'?
Don't see anyone bombing the shit out of NY or LA or any other fucking piece of shit you guys call your own country
