Welcome to Ishkal in Austria. And today I will take you along a full downhill ride with my snowboard. It was a very good ride because the snow was pretty good and there was a lot of sun and most importantly this was a bit later in the afternoon and you will see that actually on this side of the mountain there were not a lot of people which is actually the side of the mountain I think or I remember was on the Swiss side of Ishkull. So Ishkal has two sides. The Austrian side and then there’s also the the option to go to the Swiss side. And this was I think the Swiss side. And the risk here is if you go a bit late in the afternoon, I think around 3 or 4, you have to be quick to the the elevator at the bottom on the Swiss side to get back to the Austrian side because I think it closed around 3. And that’s why if you look at the sun, it’s actually not that late, but just because you have to be very fast to get that lift to get back. That’s why not a lot of people take this route here. You see some lone scares here. But I really liked it because I could get quite some speed and you do see the snow popping up which was quite fun. And we did eventually make it. And obviously if you do not make it to the elevator, you just have to take a very long bus ride back to Austria and the place we were staying in Ishkal. Anyway, today a very nice ski area here. One thing I wanted to talk about today was the fact that actually the two times I did go to Ishkal. There was not a lot of snowfall. I went in March and I do see something in the Alps happening that more and more over the years that I have been skiing in all kind of periods from let’s say January to January until April I’ve seen less and less snowfall and more like dependency on those big days where there’s a big storm coming in and there’s a lot of snowfall but most of the time especially later in the year you will have less and less quality snow which is very sad. It’s very nice to have, let’s say, some sun, which when I started snowboarding, like I’ve been snowboarding my whole life, so 10, 15 years ago, there was way more snow and way more clouds even bringing some snow in than I noticed in the last couple of years where you have way more good sun. So, it’s good to have some sun and to to get some vitamin D and get a tan if you’re really into that. for me not because you to get that really good powdery snow, you have to go off the the pist and off the roots which are let’s say safe. Uh so it’s not that nice to do it like this. But at least I do feel like um maybe you have to go more higher. There are some solutions you can you can uh find by going way higher up the mountain. So 2,000 m plus you will still find good snow or maybe going in a period where you are for sure farther away from the summer time. So anyway, this is my full run. I hope you will enjoy it. Enjoy this full run and uh have a look at how my speed is going. I I do like my board a lot. So I have a Picasso snowboard which I like a lot. It looks like it it’s a very let’s say basic board. So it’s an allrounder. It’s not specifically for uh carving or specifically for powder snow or for tricks. It’s a allrounder board. I bought it secondhand because still I’m not snowboarding every every week, let’s say. So, it’s a it’s a hobby. Um so, this board is very good. It has served me quite well. Even the bindings are secondhand and they are still pretty decent. Anyway, thank you so much for watching and enjoy this full ride here. I go from the highest point at until the bottom here going through the tree line. So, it will be a very nice run. You will enjoy. See you in the next one. Bye-bye. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat.
