My new Tarmac S-Works!
This is my first ride on my new super road race bike.
Although this bike is 10 years old, it’s in mint condition, virtually looks new.
It’s a 2015 S-Works Tarmac SL5
This bike was much loved by its previous owner, but sadly left stored away and never really used, so it’s a bit of a barn find.
It was built to order by Specialized in Dubai and has done very few miles, hence the reason it’s in immaculate condition.
The technical specifications are:
The Frame is a S-Works Tarmac SL5- Fact-11 carbon – 52cm
Ultegra 11 speed group set
Ultegra caliper brakes
Ultegra carbon S.L. r8000 pedals
S-works carbon cranks
S-Works carbon Aerofly bars
Front Rings: Compact Praxis Works 50/34
Saddle: S-Works Romin with carbon rails
+ S-Works clamps
Wheels and Hubs are Zipp 202 Firecrest Carbon Clincher Rim brake wheels.
32mm Rim depth
These are light and stiff and perfect for climbing
Both wheels combined only weight approx 1180g.
This S-Works and my Creo will now feature on this channel.
My observations are the subject of this ride. So come along and enjoy another great cycling adventure.

Oh my good lord. Oh, this bike is super super fast. [Applause] [Music] Yeah. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat up [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] All right. Okay. [Music] Jingle. [Music] [Music] Come on. [Music] [Music] You probably will which is run on the church in the village. Everything else [Music] [Music] Yeah. Hi guys, welcome back and thanks again for joining me in my vlog today. Well, you’ve probably had a guess now. I’m on a new bike and what a bike it is. I must admit, I am so pleased. God, this bike is so so fast. It’s unbelievable. And it’s not an ebike. No, we’re back on a regular bike. Yeah, this is a bike I could only dream of owning. But as time passes, the opportunity actually come around. Yeah. So, this bike is a Specialized uh S Works SL5 tarmac. Uh this dates back to 2015 when this one was released. Yeah, this is a uh this is a 10y old bike, but it’s in absolutely mint condition. And I mean mint. Yeah. So the previous owner um really did look after this bike. Um and he didn’t really get a lot of use out of it by the looks of it. It’s pretty much brand new condition. Um this was a special order from him. He did have it all. He did order this when he was out in Dubai through Specialized and uh he obviously had his custom fit, custom bits and pieces put on. Um it’s super super light, weighs in about six 6.9, but um we’ll uh we’ll get that on the scales on another vlog. Go over the spec with you guys in a minute when I stop and I’ll show you around. Love these bars. I’ve never owned a bike like this. Never thought I would own a bike like this. I can only ever dream about owning a bike like this. But um like I say, as time goes by, these things are possible. Yeah. So, we got two bikes on the channel now, guys. We got this S Works Tarmac and obviously the Creole. And I’ll be mixing them up between them. It’s super light for climbing. It really is. As you can imagine, being an S Works, it’s a carbon everything. God, I’m so pleased with this bike. Yes, this is my little debut ride out on it today. Got to change that face plate and get an integrated out front mount fitted so I can get my Wahoo. But apart from that, oh, she was good to go. It’s so strange the way this bike literally just cuts through the air. It’s unbelievable. This bike just accelerates so fast and once you’re up to speed, just stays there. [Applause] Yeah, all the bearings in this bike, um, if they’re not ceramic, which most of them are, they’re highgrade steel from, uh, BT Swiss. Like I said, this is my first ride, so uh, I really wanted to get out and just, uh, just experience riding something like this. And it is an experience. And look at these bars here, guys. Ain’t they gorgeous? It just reflects onto that top tube. It just goes from gloss and then down to matte on the down tube. Just beautiful. Just an absolutely beautiful, beautiful bike. Oh, so how fast this thing is for accelerating. [Applause] Oh my good lord. Oh, this bike is super super fast. Unbelievable. [Applause] The acceleration is unbelievable. [Music] Wow. Yeah. Getting used to the uh two by again. Yeah. I’ve been so used to the one by on the cre. It’s uh it’s really nice to have those extra gears. Such a good looking bike. It really is. Right guys, let me tell you a little bit about my new bike and a new bike that’s going to be featuring on the channel. Right, guys, let’s give you some tech specification. So, this is a Tarmac S Works 2015 SL5 uh 52 cm frame. It’s an Altegra Lemon Speed Group set. We got Altegra caliber brakes. And uh getting a caliber brake is something I actually went out to look for. I didn’t want this bike. We got the uh S Works carbon cranks. Me with carbon cranks. I can’t believe it. They’re absolutely beautiful. So, we we’ve also got the S Works Carbon Aerofly bars. And my god, they’re gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous, guys. They really are. My front ring is a compact practice works uh 5034. Yes, the wheel and hub are from Zip. These are the 202 fire crest carbon clincher uh rim brake wheels. They’re 32 mm rim depth and these are so light and stiff and perfect for climbing especially here in Devon. Yeah, I’ve got the GP 5000 contis on at the moment. These are 28 mil. But these wheels are absolutely gorgeous. Yeah, I’m going to change that face plate so I can uh install an out front mount. Um, I’ve just ordered a K Edge um, integrated mount system for it. So, I’m going to be interested to see what that one’s like. It’s a really, really stiff frame. Makes it super quick. Yeah, I changed my pedal system over as well from Speed Play to these SPDs. And, um, yeah, I’m getting on really well with them actually. So, I’ve just ordered another pair to go on the uh, Creel. Yeah, it’s a really comfortable ride, especially with this stack. It really is comfortable. Yeah. So, why did I get this bike, guys? Well, I’ve had the Creole now for what, 3 years now? Yeah, 3 years. I was just getting an itch to get back on a regular bike again. Um, so yeah, I sort of just looked into it and uh done a lot of research and I thought, you know what? Um, I could get an S Works here if I go back a few if I go back a decade. Those bikes that was winning the tour back in 2014, I thought to myself, they’re going to be in my price range now. Yeah. So, this one was ordered by the customer and had it specially built for him in Dubai uh by Specialized. Um cuz if you notice, there’s no on this tub. You’d normally have a like the frame size like a 52 and it have other markings, but because this was a special order for this customer, um it didn’t come with any of that, and he speced it up the way he did. I understand these wheels he had fitted a number of years after purchasing the bike. Um he had them fitted in um Singapore uh by Specializ in Singapore. It’s nice to have that money where you can just buy a bike and put what you want on it. You know, this wheel, just that one there alone is £1,000. Just that one one wheel. The the wheel set back in the day when he when he brought this bike, the wheel set itself was 2,250 quid. That’s crazy, guys. Is it crazy? But they’re super super light. I just love this reflection. It’s got like a yellow reflection on it. Don’t know if it’s coming out on camera, but it’s just gorgeous. Yeah. So, I’ve got a two bikes back on the channel now, guys. So, I will um obviously be riding my uh Creole cuz I absolutely love that bike as well. And I got plenty of things with the Creole to do. But, this one’s going to be my main my main road bike. Now, this would be great to do some comparison videos as well. Just, you know, do a normal loop uh like let’s say a 30 40 mile loop and um see who’s quicker. Yes. Works or the Creole in turbo. I’m super excited. I’m a very very very lucky boy to have this bike in my possession. Now, the saddle is gorgeous as well. Really is gorgeous. You can tell it’s hardly been ridden in carbon bars. Yeah. All the um cassette and the chain, it’s all in good nick mine. I’ve done the chain checker on it. This was just absolutely caked with um dust where it’s just been sat in his garage for years. Shame in it to leave a bike like this sitting in your garage. Yeah, I got to check it myself, but I think the frame itself uh with a wheel set and your pedals, I think it comes in at about 6.9 kg. 6.9. Yeah. So, I’ll double check that um on a later video. I’ve ordered some uh proper uh proper scales where I can weigh this bike. Bit of a weight weenie now. And I tell you what, lifting this bike and then lifting my cre. Wow. Unbelievable. The creel. Gosh, he’s a big girl, I tell you. But look at this. Look. But look at this. This bike here, I can little finger. Little finger. This is with the saddle bag and the bottles. This is with my little finger. Is that light? That’s crazy, is it, guys? Right, I’m going to jump on the bike and uh carry on with the ride. Yeah, this bike just cuts through the air. It really does. Yeah, I’ve never ever experienced a ride like this before. And it’s unbelievable. [Applause] But what a bike, guys. What a bike. Yeah, I’m used to pushing a 13 kg bike and uh jumping on this one now. Just easy peasy. Look at it. Look, just I’ve actually got a headwind. I have no idea what speed I’m doing cuz I haven’t got me wahoo on. Anyway, guys, that’s it from me for today’s ride. I hope you enjoyed that and I hope you like the bike and I hope you don’t mind it being featured on this channel alongside the Cre. So, uh, until next time, guys. Keep smiling and riding and hopefully I’ll see you soon. Bye for now. Bye-bye. Bye. Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Music] [Applause]

  1. Always nice to have non ebike. I had the S-Works Tarmac SL6 with disc brakes, but sold it a few years back as although it was very quick, the riding position was not good for distance for me. I did keep my Rouxbaix 2017 and ride that one once in while. Just popped a Future Shock 3.0 from the Creo 2 in that one. It has made the bike a comfy as the Creo 1 and 2. Ensure you have some spare carbon brake pads and decent ones at that. The Swiss Stop one are damn good.

  2. Congrats, that's really a dream bike. Just recently, I bought a used Tarmac SL5 Pro, my dream bike. Even though it's a bit heavier than yours, mine doesn't have carbon wheels, just Mavic Aksium, but the bike is just amazing. I haven't tried the SL6 or newer, but I can't imagine a better bike. Light, fast as a rocket, comfy like a Mercedes. Enjoy, buddy!
