How much did I spend cycling from Amsterdam to China? 🚴♂️💸
In this video, I break down the real costs of biking across continents—from food and gear to visas and emergencies. After 9000 km, 15 countries, and 5 months on the road, here’s exactly what it cost to live the adventure of a lifetime.
Would you do it for this price? Let me know in the comments!

Cycling 9,000 kilometers from Amsterdam to China. Budget broke down. How much did I spend for five months on the road through Middle East? I started from the Netherlands, but well, I broke my hand the first day. So, let’s start again from the end. I spent €253 for one month cycling on the Lenob River, always while camping and cooked. €42 in Turkey where I stayed 35 days. €225 in Iraq including the visa. €150 in Iran, plus €25 for the visa. As you can see in the full movie, I was eating always in restaurants, but the country is very, very cheap and really beautiful. €220 in Afghanistan, including the visa. This is the most scary part of the movie. €183 in the crazy Pameir highway in Tajjikistan where there was no one, so nothing to be paid. Finally, €50 in Kyrgystan for very few days. So, in total, from Amsterdam to China by bike, I spent less than €1,500.

Un día explica cómo le haces para conseguir $ durante el viaje.
Crazy. Well done.
Was thinking of doing the same broski
Bro hoelang heeft je trip geduurd? De breakdown is nice maar je average daily km zijn wel belangrijk te weten!
So that's about €10 per day!
Invested one month of salary, won an entire life.
And the bike?
Thanks! 🙂
I thought people gave you food everywhere…
Where did you charge your electronics? I travel full time, often off the beaten trail, on foot but I have to pay for hotels every few days to recharge batteries.
What about health insurance?
Crazy!!! What kind of bike do you have?
I loved the video. At one hour, it's a bit long for a youtube-video, but it's totally worth watching.
However, I wondered if you're also going to make partial videos of each of the sections.
Thanks
Beautiful
Did you fly back to Amsterdam? If so , air ticket cost?
Mate , thats an adventure of a life time.
you gotta love that exchange rate
As a woman, I can only dream of doing this solo adventures. Thank you for sharing. I envy you 🙂
Vídeo maravilhoso! Muito inspirador. Vontade de fazer o mesmo mas me lembro que preciso trabalhar sempre esperando o fim de semana…😢
1 euro is roughly 100 rupees. That means 1500 euros is the same as about 1.5 lakh. Absolutely worth it.
How much did you bring tho just in case? Im planning on traveling from europe to japan and dont really know how muxh money i should save up
what a waste of time
great effort.. life on the road can be much cheaper than living at home as you skip all of those 'must? buy items" and travelling cheap is way more of a fun humble experience..
It's kind of crazy that a plane ticket is cheaper…maybe it should be more expensive so we don't destroy the climate…
me and my friend have made a promise to cycle to japan from the uk in the next 10 years.
unfortunately politics and war are hard to plan around but hopefully the world is more peaceful when we attempt this
