How to Ride a Bike
We believe the balance bike method is the best way to teach your child to ride a bike. Watch this video for a step by step on how to teach your child to ride a pedal bike.
Our mission is accident-free biking. All our bikes are equipped with our SureStop braking technology preventing head over handlebar accidents and giving your child a quicker more controlled stop.

The majority of us as kids learned howÂ
to ride a bike with training wheels Guardian Bikes believes there’s a better and safer method to put balance and steering before pedaling. First make sure your child has a helmet on and it fits appropriately. The helmet should sit level on your child’s head and be at least one inch from the eyebrows. Next let’s make some bike adjustments. If your bike’s pedals are on you will want to remove the pedals so that your child can easily walk the bike while sitting on the seat. To properly sit, lower the seat so your child’s feet are flat on the ground. This will give them a sense of confidence because they can still touch the ground. Let them walk the bike on a flatÂ
surface while they’re seated so they can get that feeling of control and steering. Now let’s get them moving a bit.
Find a slight slope and have your child pick their feet up and start coasting. This will get them comfortable with momentum and balancing themselves. Remember to stick to theÂ
small slopes to keep that confidence. Repeat this and make it fun until they can coast consistently for about 15 seconds. Once both you and your child feel confident let’s put those pedals backÂ
on so they can practice riding for real. The right pedal tightens clockwise andÂ
the left pedal tightens counterclockwise. Hold on to your child and have them start to pedal the bike with the confidence from the earlier steps. The concept of pedaling will be picked up much quicker. To activate the brakes your child will simply need to grab the single brake lever and our patented SureStop braking system will distribute the braking power to both wheels while preventing head over handlebar accidents. From a stopped position your child should have one foot on the ground and the opposite foot upright on the pedal. The foot on the pedal will allow them to push down on the pedal and generate momentum immediately and that’s the key to balancing. And there you have it.
They’re on their way!

This technic really worked for my 5yr old son…Thankyou for sharing !!💙💙
I learned by coasting down a driveway. Mind you I was 12, had a bike for over a year and couldn't get it. Until I decided one day to coast down neighbors driveway.
My son is six years old and he’s scared to ride a bike. My mom bought him a bike for his third birthday. She wanted to teach him so she let him roll down her driveway but when the bike met the street, he fell down. Me, my husband, his older sister, and my friends have all tried to get him back on the bike. He refuses. Taking off the pedals looks like a really good idea. I’m going to try that.
I am trying to train my brother
Learned by myself at 6, I’m almost 60 now and can still ride wheelies in circles. The falling and associated pain teaches you great lessons in life, action vs consequences, something our youth has seemly never learned.
Good video …my i use several footage for my video song…tks for your reply
Im 8 year old that cant ride a bike but if this video help me and i will thank you later if is not it will be ok for me
I tried and tried to teach my son how to ride and no luck. Then I thought about it and took his pedals off so he could get balance and control by coasting. It worked fantastically and he was riding in less than half an hour. That was 12 years ago.
In the film clip, did you notice how children instinctively balance a bike when they don't have to pedal. It's the pedals that mess them up.
Thank you for the idea. This will save so much money to not have to buy a balance bike. Just simply remove the pedals and lower the handle bar and the seat.
From this video, it’s clear that the child’s feet need to be able to touch the ground – feet flat -while sitting on the saddle. That is inconsistent vs. the RideSize tool on your website.
Can u peddle backwards on a guardian bike
Except this method will destroy their crotch. Not good if you live in a hot climate.
But I just bought a guardian bike with training wheels. They sell training wheels on their website. Now I’m really questioning it.
Thank you for making this.

We just got our guardian and she is so close to riding but I think this will help so much, thank you
