Round 2 of the East Kent Cyclocross (EKCX) Series delivered everything we love about British Cyclocross – mud, chaos, and pure grit! Set against the backdrop of the Duke of York’s Royal Military School in Dover, this course has quickly become a rider favourite, combining fast, flowing grass sections with tricky off-camber turns and the infamous new uphill boards. From juniors to masters, every race was packed with drama, crashes, and classic winter racing vibes.
What started as a bright, crisp morning quickly turned into a battle against the elements as the rain rolled in just in time for the Masters 50/60 race – transforming the course into a slick, unpredictable mud-fest. If you love watching riders test their limits, sliding, sprinting, and suffering through the best Cyclocross conditions the UK can offer, this video is for you.
Featuring on-board footage from Chris Lord’s half-lap and stunning race highlights from across the categories, this is EKCX at its gritty best.

A welcome return to the Juki Yorks RAW military school in do the battleground for round two of the East Kent subcross league. The Juka York School is a relatively new addition to the EKCX calendar, but it’s fast becoming a firm rider favorite. Maybe it’s the sweeping views, maybe it’s the way the course flows, or maybe it’s just the perfect blend of suffering and fun that makes cycling what it is. This is round two of DKCX 2025. This year’s layout brought a few surprises, a rework route with even more off-c campber trickery, those signature twisty backfield sections that keeps the riders dancing on the edge of traction, and just to make things interesting, the new uphill boards. Because who doesn’t love a bit of extra pain on a Sunday? And the winner of the race, Oscar Northover. Well, Oscar. Go go go. Heat. Heat. Time right off. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. The day began looking promising. Bright skies, crisp air, the perfect conditions for fast, flowing racing. But as we all know, saccross never stays that way for long. Just as the masters of 50s and 60s rolled up to the start line, the rain arrived, transforming the course from grippy to greasy in moments. Suddenly, every corner was a gamble. Every off camera was a fight to stay upright. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Up across the But I won’t. And if you’ve ever wondered what it’s actually like to race part of a CX course, here’s your chance. My mate Chris Lord strapped on a camera for half a lap and somehow still managed to finish 24th. Honestly, I’m amazed I didn’t have to beep out half of the footage. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. As always, if you enjoy this kind of content, don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe. It really helps the channel grow and keeps me out filming more of this madness. You’ll also find a link in the description to my photo galleries from the day packed full of your favorite riders covered in glorious Kentish mud.
