This is the last episode of my adventure in France along the Loire River with wild camping
[Music] Hello and welcome. This is the last episode of my trip along the Lara River. That’s day number six. So far, I covered 388 kilometers in 5 days. Another beautiful day ahead on the trail. The overnight stay fantastic. A bit away from the river. No condensation, only few wild animals. Total silence. My next big city, Amba, 19 12 kilometers. I had coffee already. Now quick breakfast. [Music] Shat Gyaga. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] founded in the Middle Ages. Ambua is full of castles. You have already seen two of them. The most impressive one is the royal castle royale demo. But first, I will wander a bit around the town and buy the fridge. Not too long. The royal castle of Ambua sits very close to Lara River with gardens that flow all the way from the riverside up to the hills beyond. From its old medieval fortress on a rocky hill, you get stunning views over the town. Back in the days of the king Charles 8, the castle was turned into a royal residence. A perfect example of Lara Valley Chatau from the 15th during the Renaissance. It became a hot spot for artists from all over the Europe, including the one and the only Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo actually spent the last three years of his life here as a guest of King Francis I. He lived just next door of Chateau Ducllo Lus which we already seen and he’s buried right here in Amba in the beautiful chapel of S Hubbert. Every year people from all around the world come to pay their respect to the great master. [Music] The bridge you see in the shot is the one I’m crossing as I leave Amba, heading towards the next big city on my road. It’s also the final destination of my cycling journey.
