Wicklow’s Ronan Dunne made history as the top Irish competitor at the UCI Mountain Biking Downhill World Cup.

The 21-year-old, fresh off a race in Canada, finished the prestigious series in the top four.

it’s definitely dream come true I’m pretty honored to represent the country in this way because we’re not known for our mountain biking as well just because we don’t have the facilities like countries with Alps or ski resorts so it’s not hugely known in this country as it is abroad to like bring that and show aren that she has some pretty decent Riders is pretty cool to do it in one race but to do it over in a season is definitely pretty tough it takes it’s uh yeah definitely tough so to get top five in overall standings is pretty dream come true and yeah it’s um yeah St to be the first star sh do it there but you’re bound to have a few crashes but yeah it’s just the whole Buzz about it it’s pretty insane and then Jon like you just can’t get over and then to do it as a job is even better
