Cycling by St. Helier’s Harbours and Havre des Pas – (Ride 10, Part 1)

Join me for Part 1 of a new cycling series around Jersey’s coast! The video is a virtual ride filmed from the handle bars of my electric bike.

In this ride, I start by heading down Tower Road to the coastal cycle path, then make my way past St. Helier Marina and the Old, English and French Harbours, before continuing through Havre des Pas and finishing on La Grande Route de la Cote.

It’s a lovely mix of waterfront views, peaceful roads, and a few familiar island landmarks — perfect for a relaxed ride on a sunny Jersey day.

Right, and we’re off. Meant to be out hours ago, but I’ve had camera mounting problems. So, it’s now half three, gone, right? Okay, so the bell is working. I’m Tom and we’re off on another cycling jersey ride. This one’s going to take me about an hour and I’ll split the video into three parts. As usual, there’s some fantastic scenery along the way. I hope you enjoy the ride. We’re dropping down Tower Road to First tower. Woo! some speed up there. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Whoa, that was a bit tricky. Tom’s got his wheels. He’s charging the day. Out on the island where the green meets the bay. Camel rolling, wind in his hair. Who needs a car when freedom’s right there? Click zoom. Capture the skies. The cliffs, the waves, the morning light cry. Ride with time. Feel the breeze. Through Jersey lanes, pass the trees. The reluctant outdoorsman. Here we go. Hope you love this little show. My legs feel quite heavy today. He pedals past fields where cows choose slow. A castle stands tall with stories to show. Laughter escapes. It’s caught on the tape. Every curve, every turn. His silent escape. The sun dips low paints the sea. He smiles wide, thinking this is me. For every view, for every smile, he’s sharing his world. Mile by mile. Ride with Tom. Feel the breeze through Jersey lanes. Pass the trees. The reluctant outdoorsman. Here we go. Hope you love this little show. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Castle Key is to our right and the main town of St. Helia to our left. Heat. Heat. On our right is St. Helia Marina. This is the old harbor. the English harbor. And finally the French harbor. Heat. Heat. That’s lit chimney you can see over on the left. Woo. So, we’re in the sort of industrial area which looks pretty groy, but within seconds will be in a lovely area. It went wrong there. Tada! And like magic we pop out at Harve. Thank you. It’s gorgeous even. Heat. Heat. Growing up, I always thought this road was called St. Clement’s coast road but at some stage it changes from St. Clement Road to L Grand Route Deote. [Music] Thanks so much for watching.
