The 2026 Tour to France route has just been revealed in Paris, and it’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen before because for the first time in history, the tour to France will finish with two days in a row on Alto before the final day in Paris. Stage 19 is the classic climb. 21 hairpins, 128 km, pure chaos. And then stage 20 they’ll do it again but this time from the other side over the cuadel affair the telegraph gibier and finally over to the cold dearen a route so steep and unpredictable it’s never been used in tour history. That’s the final before the last day in Paris. And for one man Slovenian superstar Tatt Pagachar this mountainous day could define his legacy. Pugachar heads into 2026 chasing his fifth Tur of France overall victory. A record shared by only a handful of legends. Jacon Catil, Eddie Merks, Bernardino, and Miguel Enderrain. But no one has ever done it at such a young age. And if he pulls off the win this July, he joins that exclusive club and maybe even surpasses it. Here’s the big picture. the 113th edition of the tour to France will run from July 4th to July 26th. So go easy on the July 4th fireworks because we have the tour to France kicking off in Barcelona. Yes, in Spain, the 27th Grand Depar outside of France and the third from Spanish soil. Stage one, we have that 19 km team time trial. And stage two, Tarragona back to Barcelona, punchy coastal chaotic. Stage three, Leong, high altitude ski station and the first summit finish of the race. From there, the race snakes north through the Pyrenees, Massive Central, Voge, Jura Mountains before our alpine showdown in week three. 21 stages total, seven flat, four hilly, eight mountain stages, five summit finishes, and two time trials. One team time trial, one individual. The last week is a climber’s dream or nightmare. We have the Ton Lebanon time trial, the individual one, but the rest of the time we’re climbing. The race charges into Oier Merlet for stage 18 summit finish. Then it’s on to the Altoz double feature. Stage 19, the traditional route. Stage 20, the monster. 5600 meters of climbing, four legendary passes, and the treacherous ascent of Sarin, the southeastern face of Alpawez. That’s the mountain along with the other side of Alawe that will decide everything. Stage 21, we’re back up in Paris like every year. And no, this isn’t the traditional Shanley showdown. We’re going back up and over the Mont Mart climb which we did last year for the first time after it was introduced in the 2024 Paris Olympic road race that Remco Evanopool won was such success. It’s a fan favorite and we’re going back for 2026. Then the finish line on the Shanley where the 2026 victor will be crowned. Yellow jersey, blue porcelain vase. In total to get there from Barcelona, five mountain ranges, 5400 meters of climbing. This is the ultimate test of endurance and nerve. Now it’s your turn. 1. Love the parcours. Love montemortre, love alphe d'huez. But what's up with that ttt? Only the time of the first rider count for the gc but every riders has seperated gc time as well? Doesnt that make it a itt disguised as a ttt?

  2. Made for Pogacar again, seems like Aso wants him to win 7 tours, to equal someone else that did it. The irony would be ofcourse ,that some rider from Uae will come out in 10-15 years and speak about the 7 wins of Pogacar.😂

  3. Whoever came up with this route is a diabolical genius and I love it. Having Alpe d'Huez is cool but on back to back stages is downright cruel to the legs. We've got plenty of time before then to see how the favorites prepare for this race.

  4. Is it the tour de france or the torture de france? I hope that Vingegaard misses the Tour and does the Giro instead. Would love to watch him on the Italian mountains and alps. Pogacar will be winning the tour if all goes well.
