The Bike Pit is located just outside Keflavik airport in Iceland. It’s a useful place to put your bike together when you have landed in Iceland with your bicycle, and to dismantle it again when returning home.
There is a selection of basic bicycle tools in the Bike Pit if you forgot to pack something!
The one problem with the Keflavik Airport Bike Pit, is that they take away any discarded bicycle boxes on a regular basis. This means that you ideally need to store your bicycle box somewhere for your return trip from Iceland, or rely on just being lucky when it’s time to fly home.
In this video (apologies for the background noise – there were some construction workers nearby!), you can see there weren’t any bicycle boxes at all at the Bike Pit at Keflavik Airport, Iceland. Fortunately, I had mine stored at a campground and so didn’t have any issues. This video and information is to give a heads up to other cyclists planning a bike tour around Iceland!
