Morning and welcome to day four of me racing across the world from New Zealand all the way to Monaco F1 which is 24 hours away. I started in Oakland, day two Koala Lumpa, day three Tash Kent and today I am starting in Milan. So far I have covered over 11,000 miles in the last 3 days. So I’m on the home stretch. I’m just going to go downstairs now, check out of this hotel and get the dice rolled. Whatever you do, please don’t roll with sex. Not today. Can I check out if that’s okay? Just stay with us. Very good. The bed was very comfy. I didn’t want to get up this morning. What’s that? May I send you everything by email? Yeah, that’s fine. No problem. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. Right. I have a question for you. It might sound a bit strange, but can you roll this dice for me? Cuz this decides how much budget I have, but if you roll a six, I go back to New Zealand. So, whatever you do, do not roll a six cuz I can’t go back to New Zealand. Okay, so let’s Oh, it’s on the floor. It’s rolling a one. We have a one. So, I have £100 for my next destination. Enjoy it. Thank you so much. Nice to meet you. I’ll need it. See you later. Have a good one. See you later. Bye. A one. How many times have people rolled a one on this journey for me? So, that means I’ve got a £100 budget for my next leg of the journey, which I’m hoping is going to get me to Monaco, but I could have done with a bigger budget to be honest. If I get to this station now and the train is more than £100 to Monaco, I can’t take it. Please be less than £100. I am on my way to Milano Central, which I’m guessing is the central station in Milan. Mateo, who worked in the hotel last night, he’s the one who said the trains leave from here to go to Monaco. To be honest, I haven’t even had a look at time, so I haven’t got a clue. I just hope the fact that I’ve had a lion isn’t going to ruin my plans to get to Monaco today. Just looking at the satnav, I’ve got 15minute walk to go. I think I’m coming to the train station now. This is it in the back. Please let this train be under £100. Please. And here we are. Milano Central. It’s some train station that. Right, let’s get in here. It’s a Saturday. It looks busy. I’m not too sure how many people are going to be going to Monaco from Milan, but we’re about to find out. This place is massive. I don’t even know where to start. Right, let’s ask this lady. Excuse me. Do you work here? Yeah. How can I get to Monaco from Milan? You can try Freda Rosa. Faster trainer. A fretzar roa. Can I buy a ticket? You can try because I don’t know if there is a train direct here to to Monaco. So, do you work in the ticket bit? Yeah, but only for Italy. Only for Italy. So, where can I speak to about that? There is a ticket office in front of you. Ah, this ticket office here. Perfect. Grat. Thank you so much. Right, that was very helpful. I think this is what I’m looking for. Customer service. Let’s try in here. It is busy in here. Nothing’s moving fast. Hi, how are you? I’m looking to buy a ticket to go to Monaco. Germany or in France? Monaco. Monaco. Monte Carlo. Monaco. Monaco. Monte Carlo. Monaco. Monte Carlo. Please don’t send me to Germany. No. No. Check the screen and wait for your number. Okay, perfect. How long is the wait? Do you know? Around 15 minutes. 15 minutes. No problem. Graci. Thank you. 15 minutes isn’t too bad to be fair, but I shouldn’t have had that lie in time just all adding up here. I hope this ticket is under £100. It has been exactly 15 minutes now and there’s still no sign of my number. My number’s not even on there. Please be quick. We need to get going here. 25 minutes gone now and still no sign of my number. There is so many people waiting in here as well. Here we go. Hi, how are you? You good? Um, I’m looking to get to Monaco, Monte Carlo. Not the one in Germany. I’m just wondering what’s the best way to get there today. How busy is this train station, by the way? Crazy. will be the train at 5:05 to Vintia 9 and then at 9:30 you have your local one that gets you there at 10 p.m. in Monte. Okay, perfect. Is this it on the screen here? So, leave Milano 5:00, get into Ventilia at 9:00, leave Ventilia at 9:30, and get into Monaco at 10:00 p.m. Okay, perfect. Is that the best option? Yeah, it’s the only option. That’s the only option. Okay, perfect. And what’s the price of that, please? $39.90 in second class. €39 in second class. How much is first class? €50.40. Let’s do first class. €50. Cheers. Thank you. How’s your day been? Very busy. Every day. Really? Today is Saturday, so yeah, the weekend’s more busy. 50 and 40 cents when you hear the sound. Perfect. Thank you. So that’s your ticket at 505. number of the train cross and then the local train from Vintia to Monaco to Monaco. Perfect. Amazing. Graatia Mill, thank you so much. Do you know which platform or is it just on the main screen outside? It’s in the screen on the second floor usually from 14 to 21. 14 to 21. Uh platform 14 to 21. Perfect. Grat have a great day. Thank you very much. Happy days. Not only have we been able to do it for £100, but we’re even going first class for 50. I am so relieved. I can’t begin to tell you. The lady literally said that train was my only option as well. So, I was lucky with that. Get me on this train and then I can worry about where I’m actually staying in Monaco cuz let’s be honest, everywhere is going to be fully booked. Right. I think this is the second floor and you’ve got the board over there. Where was it? I was going again. The first stop wasn’t Monaco, was it? Ventilia, is it? Platform 19. Where is platform 19? It is so busy in this train station. It’s got to be here, surely. Excuse me. Is this here? Perfect. Gracia. Thank you so much. Have a good day. We are making progress. 1213 just down here. Here we go. This is it. Platform 19, Ventilia, departure 505. The final stretch, right? Where’s first class? We’re poshing it up a bit. Excuse me. Where is first class? Back part. It’s the back part. Okay. We got one or two. Okay. Number two. This one. Number two. This one. Thank you. Gra. Here we go. Coach two. What’s first class on an Italian train look like? Hi, how are you? I tell you what, this isn’t going to be too bad. And we are finally on the move. I’m just looking at my phone now for the qualifying for the F1. Lando’s in pole and Oscars in P3. Happy days. Let’s just hope I’m there to see the actual race. So, I’ve just come out of first class, which I’ve paid €50 for. Behind me is class 2, which I could have had for €34. Let’s have a look at the difference. This is not much different to the first one to be fair. I’d arguably say there’s actually more space in that. Oh yeah. What have we got here? Vending machines on a train. I can’t say I’ve ever seen that before. The fact that they’ve got vending machines on it then does that mean there’s no restaurant? Sorry. Can I squeeze past? Thank you. Oh, the train is crazy. Thank you. Graci Oh my god. This train is throwing me everywhere. This can’t be second class because it is literally the same carriage as the one I’m in. Hi, how are you? You good? This train’s actually quite busy to be fair. It is quiet though, so walking down the train with my camera is a little bit awkward. Honestly, there is zero difference between first class and second class on this train. I suppose that’s why it was $34 and $50. Nice hat. Have a good one. It’s nice to see a McLaren hat on the train. I need to put a face mask on the train. Why didn’t I bring my face masks with me? I have literally been down the whole train. And it doesn’t get any exciting than that, to be honest. There’s no restaurant cart. All there is is the vending machines. On top of that, the second class is exactly the same as the first class. So, if you’re ever going to come on this train, pay the €34 and not the 50. This is going to be a long 4 hours. How are we? Good. Where are you from? Cairo. Cairo. Nice. Mala. Mala. Liverpool. Liverpool. Where are you going? Cairo. Nice to meet you all. What was your name? Oh, nice to meet you. Mimo. Ah, nice to meet you, Mimo. Simon. Mimo. Nice to meet you. Have a good one. Oh, sorry. Can I squeeze through? So sorry. Thank you. Gracia. The train’s just stopped. Where are we? Ah, no problem. You okay with that? No worries. Yeah, thank you. No problem. Have a good day. We have just stopped in Janova Piaza Principe. Not a clue where that is, but we’re about 2 hours into the journey now. Let me jump back. We’re about halfway now, I think. So, this literally is the restaurant cart. We’ve got some seating in there and three vending machines, right? What have we got? Well, this one doesn’t even take cards. We’re not having a Kinder Bueno. Right. Here we [Music] go. We’ve got some Oreos. That should keep us going. Right, let’s go back and sit down. So the time now is 11 minutes 7. We left Milan at 5. We’re getting into Monaco at 10. So we’re just under halfway. Next stop, Ventilia. Honey, honey, honey. [Music] And I have arrived in Ventamelia. And the time now is 20 9 at night. Right, we’ve got something to think about here. I’ve been thinking about it on the train. So obviously I’m off at Ventamelia to now change to go to Monaco. It’s 20 9 at night. If I get into Monaco now, it’s going to be what 10:00 when I get in. Monaco is going to be absolutely rammed. there’s no chance of getting a hotel. And even if I do get a hotel, it’s probably going to cost 10 grand a night. And that’s if I roll a five because every hotel in Monaco is going to be fivestar. So the options I’m faced with is do I get this train to Monaco and be faced with a big problem when I get there? Or do I take the risk going to Ventmilia? Now, I’d never heard of Ventamelia until 24 hours ago, and Mateo said it in the hotel last night. It could be a village for all I know or it could be a decentsized town. Do I take the risk, walk into the town, see if I can find a hotel and then obviously in the morning then get a 30inut train to Monaco? I think I’m going to have to do that, aren’t I? Only problem is though, if I do take the risk and go into Ventilio and there’s absolutely nothing because for all I know, everybody going to Monaco could be staying here anyway. So, if I go here and there’s nothing, then I’ve missed the last train to Monaco and then I’m stuck anyway. So, either way, I’m stuck. Right, I’m making the decision. We’re going to ventilio. We’re going to see what’s here. Let’s hope it’s the right decision. Right, what’s going on here? Not a lot by the looks of it. Well, we’ve left the train station now, so we’re committed. Why have I not got a good feeling about this? This place looks like a small town, but there is absolutely nobody out here. Everywhere looks closed as well. I suppose it is half 9 at night, so everything is going to be closed. This is going to be really weird asking a stranger to roll the dice in the dark in the middle of the town. There’s got to be someone will do it. Just imagine if someone rolled a six now. Oh, right. I think there’s a kebab house here. Hey, how are you? Are you closed? Yes. Ah, all closed. Where can I get food around here? In the sea. Ah, on the seafront. You see? So, is all the city closed now? It’s all closed. Perfect. No problem. Gra. Thank you. Well, that’s not good, is it? Sounds like everything’s closed. There’s got to be something open around here. Surely. Hey. Yeah. This restaurant looks open. It’s busy down here. What star restaurant is this? Hi. How are you? Are you still open? Yes. If you want, you’re the last. I’m the last. Okay. Can I ask you a weird question? Yes. Can you roll a dice for me with me? Yes, you can roll it. Yeah, just don’t roll a six, please. Yeah, on the table. Yes. Um, a four. I will take that. What star restaurant is this? What? What kind of You know, like you have like one star restaurant or two star, three star, four star, five star. What star is this? We have the restaurant and the bars. Ah, okay. Yes. Is the And is the restaurant fourstar? No problem. We have the English English girl if you want to. No, it’s fine. No problem. I I don’t understand all the No, your English is very good. Thank you. I I really appreciate you rolling for Thank you very much. Thank you so much. Pleasure. Pleasure. Thank you. Have a nice night, Clarissa. See you later. Bye. Clarissa has just rolled us a gem there. I need to work out what star restaurant this is. If it’s a four, we’re getting a seat now. Quick. Clarissa, what time did you say you close? Like now. Now. Okay. Give me 2 minutes. Let me just double check. I don’t want to be cheating on my challenge now, do I? What’s this restaurant called? This restaurant is a fourstar. Perfect. Excuse me. Can I get a table, please? Kissa, we’re having a pizza. Pizza. We’re having a pizza. Um, I’ll have one inside if that’s okay. Thank you so much. Can I take this one? Is that all right? Thank you so much. You’re welcome. How’s your day been? Busy. Saturday is right. Ah, very busy. Thank you very much. What is the best pizza on the menu? Do you prefer meat cheeses or fish? Oh, I’d say meat. Meat and cheese. Cheese. I have four cheeses. Yes. You can put on parame. Perfect. Let’s have the four cheeses with mushroom and palaham. Perfecto. Thank you. Cook zero, please. Thank you. What is Ventamelia like? Is it a nice place? No. Really? Not so much. Where are you from? Here. You’re from Ventilia. Ah, so you know it very well. It’s okay, but at night Well, at night it’s bad here. Why is it not good at night here? Well, people steal things. Oh god. Brilliant. I definitely don’t want to be walking around here without a hotel then. Do I? It’s 10:00 at night. Am I even going to find a hotel at this point? At least I’m going to have a nice pizza. That’s the main thing. Thank you so much. How good does that look? Oh, look at this. Ventamelia. So far so good. But I’ve got to find a hotel first. Hi. How are you? You good? Don’t mind me. I’ve just got a camera on the table eating a pizza. That is amazing. Well, Drea, the chances of finding a hotel here tonight. I’d be lying to you if I said I wasn’t slightly worried. Was good. Yeah. Amazing. I just couldn’t finish it. Thank you so much. Some coffee or Yeah. Can I get a double espresso? Perfect. Thank you so much. Right, that’s me done. Let’s get this bill paid. Roll the dice and see if we can find a hotel. Hi. Can I pay the bill if that’s okay? Thank you so much. You finished for the night now. The number four was lucky or not. Number four was good. So I could eat in a four-star restaurant. Oh, right. You need to roll this. Okay. If you roll a one, I stay in onear hotel. If you roll a five, I stay in fivestar hotel. Fivestar hotel. Fivestar hotel. Well, one is one star hotel. Two, two star hotel. Three, three star. But if you roll a six, I have to go back to New Zealand. Do you ever go to New Zealand? No, it’s not okay. I want to go to the F1 tomorrow. Not New Zealand. So, please don’t roll a six. Okay. Whatever you do, don’t roll a six. No, not say. Not say. Right. Here we go. No, you can do it on the floor. On the floor. Yeah, go for it. Why not? Five. Here we go. Here we go. A two. [Music] [Applause] We got a two. At least it wasn’t a six. You could have got me a five for a fivestar hotel, but I’ll let you off. Thank you. Do you know any good twostar hotels in Vent Ventilia? Calypso Posta. Calypso or Pasta? The central street. Voila. And uh not this one. The next one. Okay, perfect. So, Pasta or Calypso. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Have a good one. Ciao. See you later. Graci. I am so lucky I found that place open. I’m going to go and try these two hotels. They said Calypso or Pasta on the main street. I think the main street’s just down this way. The way that waitress was speaking though sounds dangerous to you, doesn’t it? Doesn’t look too dangerous. Not too many people out. The train station looked a bit sketchy, but wasn’t horrendous. Where am I going here? It’s not up there. It’s absolutely empty. Everywhere is closed. I hope these hotels are actually open. What did she say again? Calypso impostor. This place is very quiet. There is literally nobody here. I will be very surprised if I can get a hotel here tonight, especially a twostar. Here we go. I have found hotel Calypso. Calypso Hotel. And there’s the two stars there. Oh, no. Complet. That doesn’t mean full, does it? Hi, how are you? Do you have vacancy for this evening? No. Vacancy? No. No vacancy? Like no spare room? Hotel is full complete. Hotel is completely full. There is no room whatsoever. No. Can you fit me in anywhere? Zero. Okay. Gracia. Thank you. Yes. No, I understand. I understand. But there’s nothing. Nothing. No sweet or nothing. No problem. Graatia. Thank you so much. Do you re do you recommend anywhere else? And hotel anywhere else? This all hotel in Ventilia is full. Every hotel in Ventilia is full. Brilliant. There is very very much people for the company. Yeah. For the F1. No, I completely understand. Thank you. Thank you so much. Ciao. Every hotel in Ventmill, I’m not having it. We’re going to try some other places. There’s got to be somewhere with a vacancy. Two star hotel full. This is the main road down here. So, I’m just going to keep going straight. There’s got to be something else. Look what I’ve come across here. There’s a street sign that says Pasta that way, Calypso that way. There must literally be only two hotels in this whole town. What’s going on in here? Excuse me. Yes. Do you know any hotel in the area with vacancy? Yes, this one there. Posta Hotel. Pasta Hotel. Yes. And it’s literally over there. The first one left. Ah, the first one on the left. Thank you so much. Graci. All I can say is please cross your fingers for me because if there’s no vacancy in here, we’re on the streets for the night and I do not fancy that. I wonder how many people who are going to the F1 tomorrow. I wondering the streets have gone out 10 at night trying to find a hotel. I bet there’s not many. Right, here you go. Hotel Posters coming up. Cross your fingers here, please. Hey, how are you? Is there reception in here? Reception? Ah, it’s in here. Perfect. Thank you. Oh, how do I open? Oh, I didn’t want to break it. You have vacancy. I’m not speaking English. Ah, no problem. You have vacancy for me to stay here one night here? Yes, possible. Yes. Oh, amazing. How much is the room for tonight? How much do I need to pay? 35 35 65 €65. No problem. How lucky am I here? You want me to pay now or tomorrow? No, tomorrow. Tomorrow. Okay, no problem. Thank you so much. I really appreciate this. Where you from? Uh, Peru. Peru. Nice. I’ve been to Peru. And I’ve got room number one. Okay. This is the room. Perfect. Thank you. The password is the room and the board. Ah, okay. The password for the room. Ah, is it on here? Yes. So, this is the key. Okay. Perfect. Amazing. Thank you so much. Have a good night. Gracias. Thank you. Oh my god. This is not great. But honestly, I don’t care. The fact that I’ve just got somewhere to stay tonight is a godsend. Right. Are you ready for this? There’s the pin number of the room on a doctor’s prescription. We’ve got lovely purple blinds. Can we actually go outside? Look at this. You get a balcony. I’m being spoiled here. Look at this. If you come back in the bedroom, you’ve got a lovely yellow bed. I hope it’s clean. Oh, wow. That’s interesting. Got a little mini fridge down here. Kettle. Guessing this is the wardrobe. Yeah, blanket and wardrobe. And then you come into the bathroom. Nice toilet, sink, shower. Ah, that’s decent. To be fair, do you know what? I am super grateful to just have somewhere to stay tonight. It looked like it was the right choice to stay here because what you getting in Monaco the night before the F1 for €65, you’re not here. And I’m only literally half an hour down the road. Right, this is it. The last sleep before the race. I’m actually going to message McLaren now and tell them I’m just down the road and I’m going to be getting into Monaco first thing in the morning. I’ve got a feeling tomorrow is going to be an interesting day, but we’ll see how we get on. Have a good one and I’ll see you in the morning. Morning. Today is the day. The time now is 9:00 and we’ve got 5 hours until the race. We need to get rocking. I have literally got one more outfit for today in that bag. I’m going to look so underdressed in Monaco. Right, let’s jump in the shower quickly and we’ll head out. Can I just point out how creased my clothes are cuz they’ve been rolled up in my bag all week. It’s not really a good look, but honestly, I’m just happy that I’ve not rolled a six. Talking about that, I have got one more dice roll. One more for this transport into Monaco. If I roll a six downstairs now, it’ll be a disaster. Have I got everything? Yep, we’re good to go. Do not roll a six. Do not roll a six. Do not roll a six. Check out. No, not with you. All right. Uh, check out this. I need to check out now if that’s okay cuz I leave now. You’re a solid [Laughter] no problem. I need to check out me go. I go. Okay. All good. Yeah. Yeah. Pay. No. No. Ah, no contact. How do I pay? Okay, perfect. I go to ATM and I come back. Right. Let’s go to an ATM and get this paid first. Let’s get this hotel paid and get this lady to roll the dice. Okay, no problem. One person, one person, one night. Just a moment, please. No problem. Okay. I just pay and I leave. I check out. I know. I I check out. I say last night and I go now. No. For tonight, I need to check out. Ah, telev. Yeah, telev. No problem. No problem. So, this is the money for the stay. Can you do me a favor? Can you roll this for me? Roll dice, please. But don’t roll a six. Quatro. Quatro. We take quatro. I’ll take this. Thank you so much. Grat. Have a good day. See you later. Thank you. Gratle. Thank god you’re all the four. Right. I can relax now and enjoy the day. The dice is done. Quatro. I have never been so happy to hear the word quatro. I’m just looking at my phone to see if McLaren have messaged and they have and they’ve said meet at Rascas Corner before midday. Rascas Corner. I’ll have to see where that is. I need to get on the first train out of Entamelia. Can I have a ticket to Monte Carlo? One way return. Uh, one way, please. €6. Perfect. Thank you. Grat right. Which platform is this? I have no clue. It doesn’t say Monaco on any of them. Which platform for Monaco? Two. Perfect. Thank you. Platform two. Where is platform number two? And here we have it. Platform two. Bonjour. When’s the next train? There’s not that many people here to be fair. Excuse me. When is the next train, M? I don’t know. No idea. No problem. Thank you. There is no time whatsoever on the board. The policeman doesn’t have a clue. Let’s just hope they’re frequent. Surely when this train turns up, it is going to be so busy. Wait a minute. Why is everybody leaving? Why is everybody leaving? Change of platform. Platform 5. Perfect. Thank you. Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo. Platform 5. Where are you guys from? Marco. Nice to meet you, Marco. Lorenzo. Lorenzo. Nice to meet you. Where are you from? Uh Florence. From Florence. Wow. At least we’re on the right platform now. But that can’t be the train. I thought it needs to go that way. Is this the train? No, not this one. I don’t want to go back to Milan. Is it this train? I have no clue. It is this train. I think Monaco goes this way though, right? It’s the other way. I don’t know whether to get on this train or not. Is this the train or I don’t know. Oh no. That’s not good. He’s not sure if it’s the train and he speaks Italian. So if he doesn’t know, I’m not going to have a clue. Monte Carlo. Monaco. This is the Monaco. We just came from there and it’ll go back that way. Ah, okay. Monaco. I have no clue if this is going to Monaco. I think so. I hope so. Cuz if it’s not going to Monaco, we’re in trouble. I think it is. Honestly, I think it is. Where are you from? Los Angeles. Nice. Where are you from? From Wales. I flew to Munich yesterday down to Genoa, Italy. Catch a train, come to here to Miglia. Now we go to Monica. A flipping pin. That’s nearly as impressive as mine. Nice to meet you, Simon. Anyway, Robert, nice to meet you, Robert. Nobody knows if it’s the train to Monaco, but we’re all hoping. This one. It is this one. Perfect. To Monaco. To Monaco. Yeah. Monte Carlo. Okay. I’ve turned into the local guide at Ventamelia here. Let the show start. Exactly, mate. Lovely to meet you. Yeah, you too, Robert. Have a top day, mate. See you later. Everybody’s asked me if he’s going to Monaco. I’m like the local tour guide here. And I haven’t even got a clue. Can you imagine if this train doesn’t go to Monaco? There’s going to be a lot of annoyed people with me on this train. We’re just rolling out of Ventamelia now. We’ve got a 30 minute train into Monaco. Time now is 108 on race day, so we’ve got plenty of time. [Music] This train is rammed. Now we’re just crossing the Italian border into France. [Music] And I’ve made it 11,000 miles from the founder Bruce McLaren’s home in Oakland all the way to Monaco. I’ve probably had 20 hours sleep combined in the last week. But it was all worth it because we’re here. There’s just one more thing to do and that’s to go and meet McLaren in this place called Rascas Corner. I need to figure out where this is. Just looking. It’s 11 minute walk from here, but as you can see, it is absolutely ramped. It’s not even moving. This 11m minute walk is going to be more like a 30 minute walk. We’re making a bit of headway, but this is taking ages at this rate. I’m not even going to catch the race. Hi, how are you? Yeah, good. Can you can I No problem. Just camera batteries. Camera stuff and camera stuff and some clothes. Nothing exciting. I hope so. All good. Yeah, it’s all good. Thank you so much, Mercy. Have a good day. We’re through the craziness and now we’re on the streets of Monaco. This place is amazing. There’s a lot of McLaren shirts around. I reckon they’re going to get the win today. By the way, I’m calling it now. Do you reckon Norris is going to win today? You’d like to think so. Fingers crossed. A lot could go wrong though. It’s only about eight laps. Yeah, exactly. Right. I hope I’m going the right way. Yeah. Rascas Corner. I’m a 7 minute walk away apparently. Excuse me. Rascas. Rascas. This way or left? This way and left. Mercy. Thank you. I’m going the right way. It’s always good to know. It is mental here today. Trying to get through these people. Sorry. Just had a message off McLaren now saying they’re there waiting for me. Fair play to them. Race day, but they’ve got loads to do and they’re taking the time to come and meet me. What’s the easiest way to get to Rascas? You look very smart by the way. Thank you. You go straight. So this way through here. This way. Okay, perfect. Mercy. Hi. How are you? Open your bag, please. My bag. No problem. It’s big. It’s very big. Okay. All good. It’s good. Ah, thank you so much. Mercy. Thank you. I am looking for two people in orange t-shirts. That might be a bit hard because everybody’s got McLaren t-shirts on. Apparently, it’s this road. Can I walk down here? This is definitely the road. It’s going to be at the bottom of here. Two people in an orange t-shirt. Is it them? No. I think this is as far as I can come. Is this Rascia? Okay, perfect. I think this is them. How are you? Nice to meet you. Yay. You, too. How are you? How are you, mate? Good. Good to see you. Ah, you too. Honestly, what a few days it’s been. I can’t believe you can’t wait to hear about Oh my god. Honestly, I I reckon I’ve had about 10 hours sleep since last week. Is it really same as you? So, here’s your passes. We’ve got you VIP guest and then Thank you so much lane. That’s a pit lane one. Oh, honestly I can’t can’t thank you enough for this. Thank you so much. It’s all good. What a story. Bruce McLaren, by the way. What a story. And that garage. And you know what? When I was speaking to local people around there, they were saying like they walk past there every day and they didn’t even know it was there. Look at this. Do you think the pink suits me? VIP. How mental is Monaco, by the way? It took me like an hour just to get from the train station. Especially on race weekend. It’s unbelievable. You guys must be so busy this weekend. Is it ridiculous? It’s amazing. It’s amazing though. We’re very lucky. Bonjour. Thank you. Well, this is nice walking through everywhere with this. It’s amazing how quiet it is when you’ve got to pass. Perfect. Thank you. What’s this bit then? area. This is the VIP area. We like VIP areas. It’s crazy how busy Monaco is. And in this bit, it’s quiet. Where are we going here? Are we going under the track here? Yeah. Under the pit lane. Ah, under the pit lane at the minute. We’re now under the grand stand. Look at this. Which yachts yours, mate? I was going to make a joke, but I just I don’t have one. This place is unreal. So, these are all the team hubs, then are they? Yeah. And this is a paddock club. Every team has got their own base and these are the ones that will take all around Europe. Well, all these hubs come to Barcelona and go on to the next one and the next one. Tonight they’ll be packed down and then on the road again overnight ready for them for the next week. So last week from him they were packed down, came here. Flipping it. You don’t realize how much work that goes into it. This is the bougie bit. This isn’t it? I feel a bit underdressed. Everybody’s in suits and I’m in shorts and a t-shirt. Is this the driver bit? Can I get in here? This is where we’re going, man. Days. Look at this. Does that work? Thank you so much, Mercy. Oh my god. I’m in the drive a bit. Can’t say I’ve been in here before. So, who’s walking around here? Everybody. Yeah, this is our home away from home. Where’s the McLaren house then? So, it’s just down here. This is the fire one. The big orange one there. Look at this. This is the McLaren house. How smart does that look? So good. Honestly, so the drivers stay in here before the race as well. Yeah. So each driver has their driver room in here which is like their base every weekend. Really? Am I okay to drop my bag off in here then? Perfect. Just pop it there. I’ve just dropped my bag off and I’m going to go for a wander around here. This is amazing. There’s so much going on. Oh yeah. Look who’s here. Oscar, how are you mate? You good? Hey, good to see you. I made it, mate. Mate, congrats on P3 as well. Thank you. No, not bad. Not bad. Could have been a bit better, but I’ll take it. Yeah. Fair trip. Yeah, really good, mate. Honestly, I tell you. Koala Lumpa, as Beckistan, Milan, and then Yeah. literally just got here this morning. As you do, but no, I really appreciate you sorting this, mate. Thanks so much. Some experience this. I hope you’re enjoying Monaco as much as the trip. Yeah. Well, it’s just so busy here, isn’t it? Yes. You looking forward to the race? I am. It’s going to be pretty chaotic, I think. So, yeah, I can imagine. see what happens. Well, mate, I won’t disturb you anyway, but all the best. Have a good one. Lovely to see you, mate. See you later. Oscar Pastry. What a guy. Right, I’m going to try and get into the pit lane now. I just need to figure out which way it is. Lewis Hamilton on a scooter. Right, I think I found where I need to go. Pit lane, but nothing’s moving at the minute. Look at this place, though. You’ve literally got the track there. Look at all the people on the balconies up here. Right, we’re moving. I’m guessing I’m going the right way. Talk about a tight squeeze. This is rammed. Is this to the pit lane? This one? I hope so. Otherwise, we’re all going the wrong way. It’s nice to be in some shade. It is boiling. Look at those cubes. This place is just special, isn’t it? Look at that. Right, where are we going here? I think I’m actually walking over the track now. Oh, yeah. The track’s literally over there. And we’re officially in the pitley. There’s the start of it over there. You’ve got the main grand stand over there. Seems to be Yeah. Where’s McLaren? Where’s the garage? This is what it was all about. Here’s McLaren 2024 constructor champions. Look at that. So, that’s actually Oscar’s car. I think this is pit lane practice now. Ready for the race. Rolling in. That was quick. That was so quick. Can’t even get my camera fast. Howard faster. Oh my god. You about to do it again? Yeah, I think so. Right, take two. Did you get it that time? Yeah, I did. I was ready that time. Those pit changes are crazy quick. I knew it was going to be busier, but flipping heck, struggling to move. You’ve got the Ferrari garage there, Red Bull over there. You’ve got the Mercedes garage here and you can actually see George Russell on the balcony. You can see a bit of the track here where the turn. You’ve got one stand there, another stand there. Then all the yachts are in the back. Just looking at the time. The race is at 3. It is now 1:37. So, a lot of these teams are doing like pit stop practices. I’m just coming to the end of the pit lane. That is literally the exit there. Straight back onto the track. This is some experience. I’m just getting back to the McLaren garage here. Let’s see if we can get in. Am I okay to come in here? Look at this. So, we’ve got Oscar’s garage here. And if you come over here, this is Lando’s garage and Lando’s car. How cool is that? I made it. I did it. Nice to meet you, El. So, what do you work on, mate? Uh, I’m rear end mechanic. Rear end mechanic. So, we have two rear end. So, do you just work on Lando’s car here? Uh, I’m go between both of people, but there are some mechanics that just stick on one car. Mate, you must be boiling in that. Uh, I keep this open till the very last minute, so it’s not too bad. And there’s nothing underneath. Not too bad. I don’t believe you. That’s why we a lot of us have our sleeves on. So nice to meet you though, mate. Good luck with the race. Smash it. Have a good one, mate. Look at this. The police are clearing the pit lane and I’m just casually studying. I’m guessing I’m allowed to stay here now, am I? They’ve just started Lando’s car up. I think the drivers are coming. Here they come. Come on, Lando. Right, all the drivers are in the garage. We’re going upstairs. I like it. Right, we’ve just come out on the balcony. Now, this is my view. We’ve got the whole pit lane here. Oscar’s cars there. Lando’s there. Obviously, the main grand stand in the back. And you can see all the people up there watching it on the hill. We’ve got the gaffer, Zack Brown looking very focused here. Come on, boys. The police are clearing the pit lane here, ready for the cars to go out. We’re 45 minutes out from this race now. And honestly, I still can’t believe I’m here. Look who it is. Jeff Bezos going into the Ferrari garage. Honestly, what an experience. And I will always be forever grateful for everyone from the original McLaren garage on 586 Ramira Road, Oakland, New Zealand, to the McLaren Garage here in Monaco. All because of one man, Bruce McLaren. If you’ve not read his story, you definitely should. Anyway, I’m going to enjoy this race. Let’s hope we get a McLaren win. I don’t see shame.

When he goes to Monaco from Ventimilla, he already had a ticket he'd paid for the night before, so why buy another ticket?
The receptionist in the beginning was too much beautiful , and I love to spend my whole life with her 💖
Ain’t watched Simon in a while , glad to see he’s now eating local food instead of McDonalds 😂
Cool video
€50 first class…..Trains in Europe are so cheap. Liverpool to London can’t even get a ticket for that price.
I wonder how many 6’s he had to cut out… not a chance he was going back to New Zealand.
Love Monaco I was there in 2016
35:56 isnt that a famous person??idk her name
Simon probably look at this comment, but if he’s trying to travel around Europe he should get the inter rail app. It’s very helpful telling you all destinations you can go and where your train is etc.
Solo contanti…che vergogna!

What you didn't take the leftover pizza to your hotel for pizza breakfast!?😮Also, I always grew up with the rule that if the dice were crooked then you had to roll again. 😂
I only recently discovered your channel. I am a bit sick, so I've been binging YouTube today, and I came across this series. It was amazing. I truly would love to chance meet you on the street. It looks like everyone you meet is better for it.
About the horse from a couple videos back. I married a woman from the Netherlands, and while we were still long distance dating, she bought some lunch meat, "paardenvlees" or horse meat. While I wasn't keen on eating horse, she is a woman, and she has her ways of making me do things. It wasn't half bad. It really was similar to beef. But I haven't eaten it since, so there's that.
The woman who was walking behind you who you briefly spoke to when you were trying to find the pit lane was Charlotte Jones – she owns the Dallas Cowboys !!!
New subscriber here. Well done on reaching Monaco. Loving your videos
