This is the 12th Episode of my Bike ride to Pakistan and India from Germany on BMW G310GS. I started in Plitvice National Park, Croatia and continued riding towards Bosnia borders near Bihac but I wasn’t allowed to enter due to Corona Virus restrictions. After that, I started towards the coast and stayed night in Trogir near Split.

Assalam Alekum and Good Morning Everyone. I am at Plitvice National Park in Croatia right now which is an amazing place. And if you haven’t see my previous blog, please watch it. Right now, I am not very far from Croatia Bosnia border. And today’s plan is to try and enter the Bosnian border. I dont know if the Bosnian border is open or not. I ‘ll know once I get there. And after that I ‘ll make decision about my next ride. If I wish, I may go to Sarajevo or Mostar. But then it would be a long day. It’s almost 350 km from here. I ‘ll decide it as soon as I cross the border. Right now I am copying my data, that I recorded yesterday. I was too tired to copy the data yesterday. So I didn’t do that. Have a look at my room guys. It’s a pretty decent room with attached washroom. And the balcony offers a great view. The best thing about this room is the kitchen facility. And garage as well, where I parked my bike yesterday. Last night I made my dinner myself. And today I am gonna make myself a nice breakfast. Then I will start my ride afterwards. So firstly let my wrap my stuff and clean the room. Then I ll do breakfast and then will start the ride. So… it’s time to leave. Let’s go. I have parked the bike out there. Almost ready to go. Have to take care of a couple of things. These keys will go downstairs. Bismillah… In the name of Allah. *Prayer for the Journey* I think… I took a wrong turn as soon as I started. Need to go on the other side. No worries. I’ll turn from here. Such things happen! The main road is over there. May Allah make this another peaceful day. If we cross the Bosnian border today, then our total distance will be 350 km. And the driving time is almost 6 hours. And this drive time is without brakes. And that makes the total to be 8 – 9 hours. If I have to stop for recording, it will roughly take another 3 – 4 hours. The Bosnian border is quite close from here. Almost an 18 minute drive. Not too far. But unfortunately I am not sure if they will let me pass or not. I met a Bosnian a couple of days ago. He told me that the borders are still not open. But I thought there’s no harm in trying. If they allow me to go, then it will be great. Otherwise, I can continue moving in Croatia. Bosnia share many border points with Croatia. I think could be 5 or 7. There is a nice Croatian city called Dubrovnik. You have to go through Bosnia to get to Dubrovnik. Along the coast.. I think that area is called Neum. I can cross the border from there anyway. But I need to confirm one more thing from here. That if I enter Bosnia, can I return to Croatia or not. Or to the countries like Montenegro for instance. Because I don’t want to stay stuck in Bosnia. You can see that there are apartments everywhere. This is the main business of people here. They have made guest houses in their homes. They offer Bread n Breakfast at very cheap rates. I only paid 20 euros for the one where I was staying. You get double the value of money that you spent. The weather is quite pleasant at the moment. No rain for now. Clouds are there but they dont matter. The temperature is almost 20 – 22 degrees. We have almost reached the border. You can see a check post in front of me. That is the border. And my heart is pacing once again. Lets see what happens. We need to get to this lane here. Now, I don’t know if this is Bosnian check post… or… No it is Bosnian. It means Croatia doesn’t have any post here. God knows.. The flag was Bosnian. Sir, I have a German Passport. Am I allowed to enter Bosnia or not yet? Ok. Where is the Bosnian Check Post. They are saying that they dont have any problem. But I need to ask the authority there. Only Bosnian? Sorry? So… it’s not allowed to enter from here. Let see what they have to say. German No Bosnia… Corona…!! Unfortunately the Bosnians didn’t allow me to enter on the German passport. According to them, only Bosnian nationals can enter at the moment. But I can see many Croatian cars here. I think there may be some understanding between Croatia and Bosnia, that the nationals can go. I was in fact expecting this to happen at some point, that I won’t be allowed to enter some border. Now I will go to some other places, and try… If they let me enter… then I ‘ll be happy. I can see a police officer approaching me to inquire. When I was recording at the border a while ago, a Croatian police officer came. He told me that I could not do the recording there. It was a restricted zone. He also told me about an agreement among the Balkan countries. Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia. And Bosnian nationals. They can visit these countries. For the rest of people, they may open on 15th June. And today when I am recording, it’s 10th June. Lets see if they open on 15th June. Now I have to decide whether I should wait for few more days. Because I can enter Montenegro. And further Albania and Greece will open on 15th June. I will be able to reach Greece on 15th June. Check out these biker mates! Say hello to them. Are they the same people that I met earlier…? No I think they are Croatians. The wind here is very lethal. And as soon as a naked part comes… and the wind gets to my camera… it sort of makes my head go round. Now as you can see that we have to cross this path.. and then we have to do a descent. The landscape is slowly getting more flat. The river flowing beside is amazing. We are now moving along this river. I dont remember the name of this river, though. Croatian names are a little tough to remember. So it’s difficult to memorize them. Or to pronounce them properly for that matter. Especially if you don’t speak the language. I think we are going to start an ascend from here. But it doesn’t seem much. It’s only showing a couple of curves. So… not an issue! Have a look at this guys. Seems like a rural passage. In old times… there used to be a similar house in the fields. Seems like I am back there. Even those roads were somewhat better than this. They were not so shabby. How far is the main road? How far is the main road from here? 100 meters…! OK. Thank you. Are these donkeys or mules..!! My knowledge in these matters is quite limited. But the animals were cute. Their mules are better than ours. After all… these are Croatian mules. We have just entered a village. And my bike only has fuel enough for 27 km. Hopefully I will find some petrol station here. So that I ‘ll get it filled. Otherwise I ‘ll have to open my spare fuel canister. It’s strange that you can’t even see a single person here. It’s so silent here. Perhaps everyone’s at work. Everything seems to be closed. However you can spot few parked cars here and there. But it’s very sparse. This right here is my fuel. I haven’t touched it ever since I left home. These are my winter gloves. And some other items. Yeah I speak German. Yes I speak German. I can now drive away. I work in Germany. So long friend… Thank You. He was asking me about how fast I can go. Bye. So I have added 1.7 liter fuel in it. It should be good enough for another 60 km. We have reached Krka National Park. Now I need to look for the park entrance. Or some place where I can fly my drone. Because I think that flying in the park may be prohibited. So the best thing would be if I find a suitable place outside the park. Then I can fly it comfortably. Won’t be an issue then. Finally I have found a petrol station. Lets get the tank full from here. And get something to drink for myself. Bike’s tank is full now. And so is mine…!! When I visited the Krka National Park the last time, its fee was around 180 kuna I think. which is equivalent to … 20 – 22 euros. Per person. And now because of corona, its fees is only 50 kuna. which is almost 6 – 6.5 euros. The thing is … when I went down there… they didn’t allow me to fly drone. I only took the drone with me. So that I could capture some shots with it. Instagram is full of drone shots from here. I think they were a little harsh on me. As they didn’t let me fly. But after returning, I flew it from the peak. Its demerit is that you can’t fly it by the waterfalls. Since I am at the top… its signals will be lost as soon as it went down. And in that case, it’s up to God… if the drone can come back or not…!! Now I am heading towards Trogir. It’s a small city. It’s beside Split. Split is a main city here. I ‘ll stay overnight there. I ‘ll decide the future plans once I get there. As I was getting the fuel filled a while back, I booked a hotel. Not really a hotel… an apartment in fact… from booking.com There is indeed a benefit of Corona… that you can find good accommodation options… even in the last minute. So I was able to get a really good apartment… ..rather a complete apartment… only for 20 euros. Lets go to Trogir then… It’s an hour’s journey from here… rather 50 minutes. To be exact…!! I can hear some noise coming from the bike. And I don’t know the reason. I ‘ll come back in some time and check again. The room is great.. and for 20 euros only! This view that you can see is from the balcony. There is also a place to sit here. And inside I have an attached washroom. and a kitchen.. a complete kitchen.. But.. I dont feel like cooking today. or may be I dont want to eat spaghetti again. As we are in the city, we will find something to eat. So lets go to the city… And get something to eat. Unfortunately a number of restaurants are still closed. It’s a tourist country and there are no tourists. And in that case, there is no point in opening the restaurants. And hence it’s difficult finding Halal food. Many Turkish restaurants are closed. And it’s very difficult to find Halal here other than Turkish restaurants. I am actually sick of eating Tuna fish now. As I am getting farther along my journey… I wanted to have crossed Bosnia today. which couldn’t happen today… unfortunately. Now I am gonna try again in next couple of days. Because I wanted to show you guys Bosnia. So I ‘ll try again in next couple of days. It will be great if they will allow me Would be okay I guess, if they won’t. We can try some other time in life. Today was okayish I would say. I can’t say it was a great day. No need to lie about this. Because I had to make a detour of 300 km. Once I had to get to the top of Bosnia… and now I am back down at the coast again. But anyway… this stuff happens.
