Well, well, here we are. So, this is the all new 2026 Cube New Road C62 Pro gravel bike. And in this episode, I will give you the buyer guide for this bike. And also, I will tell you some likes and dislikes when it comes to this new gravel bike from Cube. So hello friends and welcome to another episode of cycling insider. So you see this new uh cube new road C62 Pro has a retail price of 2,499 hardearned euros or 2,699 British pounds. And I definitely consider this an excellent price point. and we will definitely see what are you getting for your hardearned money when it comes to this, you know, €2500. Okay, when it comes to this gravel bike, who is this bike for? So, you see, gravel bikes are definitely, you know, hot property lately and everybody’s speaking about them riding them and that’s totally fine. So gravel bikes in a nutshell are for people who spend you know majority of their time on the road but maybe you know 20 30% of their time they like to go a bit of off-roading nothing too demanding nothing that would require you know a proper mountain bike. So these would be proper like nice gravel roads. And then definitely these gravel bikes have a place in the in the bike market. And as I say, they are super popular lately. Every bike brand has, you know, multiple iterations of their gravel bikes. So specifically with this cube bike, you can choose between two paint schemes. One is this beautiful green paint scheme. Definitely would be my choice. And then you also have, if I see here, this is something like I would call it almost like a gray white paint scheme. Pretty classic paint scheme. Very nice also in my opinion. But definitely if I’m in the market for this bike, I will go with this kind of green paint scheme. They even call it here swimming pool and black. Okay, very nice naming of the colors from the cube. So, let’s now dive into the specifications of this bike and really see what are you getting for your hardearned money. So, let’s kick off with the frame and the fork on this bike. So, this is a carbon fiber frame and also carbon fiber fork from Cube. This is their C62 carbon fiber. And as you can see, all the classical modern features are here. So, you have internally routed cables. You have a 12 mm through axles both front and the back and also at the back you have the UDH universal derailer hanger which is you know absolutely perfectly fine and it’s going to kind of be you are ready for any kind of future gearing systems with the UDH. Also this bike comes with a press fit bottom bracket. This is the classical Shimano press fit bottom bracket perfectly fine. Uh, also as you can see here, this is not any of those aerodynamically optimized gravel bikes. This is a pretty classical design with a dropped seat stays. Definitely it’s going to contribute a bit to the comfort of this bike. And also when I said that the cables are internally routed on this bike, you can see that uh they have done it very nicely in the sense that u cables are running below the handlebar below the stem and into the frame. Of course, if you need any servicing of these cables or changing the hydraulic lines of the brakes, you will have to go to your local mechanic. Yes. and it’s going to cost you a bit more money because of these internally routed cables. All in, nothing special to report here with this carbon fiber frame and the fork. It’s going to be perfectly fine. And Cube is still offering you a 5 years warranty on their carbon fiber frames, which again is just standard, nothing special. I wish they would offer, you know, a lifetime warranty, for example, like Specialized or Trek or Giant. that would be nice from Cube maybe in the future. Okay, moving on to the handlebar and the stem. So, in this case, you are getting uh surprisingly in my opinion carbon fiber handlebar on this bike and it is paired with the aluminum stem. And what’s really good here is that u nothing is proprietary here. So, these are separate pieces for the handlebar and the stem. So, in the future, if you need to replace anything, it’s going to be super easy and simple. And this is definitely what I like to see on any type of the bike, especially on this gravel bike. So, carbon fiber handlebar, aluminum stem, perfectly fine, no proprietary pieces, easy to replace, and also easy to adjust your position on the bike. For example, if you want to change the handlebar or, you know, change the stem. So, this is absolutely plus in my book. Moving on to the sedland, the seat post. uh seat post is a classical carbon fiber seat post, 27.2 mm in diameter. Again, superb stuff. It’s going to soak up a lot of road bumps. And this saddle, as it is on the bike, uh I’m not expecting anything special here. This is a kind of in-house brand of cube, their own saddles. If you don’t like it, it’s very easy to replace and, you know, use your preferred set. So, that’s a classical problem with any road bike and gravel bike. The saddles can be good, can be bad, depends kind of what you really like. Okay, moving on to the group set on this bike. So, here we are speaking about the Shimano GRX 820 uh mechanical 12speed group set. I consider this to be an excellent mechanical group set. This is a kind of gravel dedicated mechanical group set. So, shifters, uh, front mech, rear mech, everything. Shimano GRX 820. No candy corners here. Also, we have the double chain ring at the front. Shimano GRX. Uh, I like that you are having a double chain ring at the front. This is 4831. And it’s also paired with the Shimano 105 cassette at the back. And this cassette is a beautiful huge range of 1136. So, this is exactly what I like to see on gravel bikes. So a huge gear ratio with this 12speed cassette at the back which is 1136. So you can definitely you know climb steep mountains and you can definitely spend long days in the saddle with this bike. Uh when it comes to mechanical group sets from Shimano, they are absolutely stunning and work perfectly fine. Of course you need to service them. I suggest you know once a year to go to your local mechanic to do a full service of your bike. But as long as you do that, Shimano mechanical definitely unbeatable when it comes to these mechanical group sets. Uh I will just mention here that this chain is a 12speed Shimano chain from the Shimano’s mountain bike range. So this is the M 7100 chain. Perfectly fine. You don’t have to use the 12speed mountain bike chains. In the future when you destroy this chain, you can use any 12speed compatible chain from the Shimano range. definitely use the Shimano range just because of the compatibility with the cassette and the chain rings. So all in mechanical 12speed group set Shimano GRX perfectly fine, excellent in my opinion. No complaints from me. Okay, moving on. Let’s talk about the hydraulic disc brakes on this bike. And I’m also glad to report that here we have the Shimano GRX 820 hydraulic disc brakes both the front and the back. Also with Shimano’s I’m not so sure if this would be something on the levels of Shimano 105 uh braking rotors, but definitely not the cheapest versions of Shimano braking rotors. These are 160 mm both front and the back, which again is excellent to see. This is exactly what you want. Good stopping power, good heat dissipation, not some tiny 140 mm braking rotors at the back. So, 160 mm front and the back. Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes. Stunning. Absolutely excellent. No complaints from me. Now let’s talk about the wheel set and the tires on this bike because again I believe this is one of secret sources of this bike. So the wheel set as it is is the Newman advanced G34 wheel set and surprise surprise this wheel set is a carbon fiber wheel set. So this is absolutely stunning on this price range of €2500 that you are getting a carbon fiber wheel set. Total weight of this wheel set, let’s call it approximately 1,450 grams. We have 21 spokes front and the back. The hubs, some kind of standard sealed cartridge bearing hubs from Newman. 12 mm through axles both front and the back. And also internally, this wheel set is 25 mm. And one thing that you just have to be aware here, this is a hookless uh tubeless ready wheel set. So tubeless ready, absolutely perfectly fine. No problems. Hookless, you just got to be careful a bit when buying tires that these tires are hookless compatible. And also just be aware that you are when you are running this hookless wheel set. Uh always every manufacturer will report also the tire manufacturer what is the preferred pressure in these tires. So, just be aware of these things and don’t kind of, you know, overpump your tires because this wheel set is a hookless wheel set. So, that’s a little bit just, you know, to pay attention when you have these carbon fiber hookless uh wheels. All in, I’m really surprised with this wheel set. Excellent choice in my opinion and I’m not expecting any special problems with that. Of course, these hubs can be serviced. You should definitely check them every season when you go to your local mechanic. And if in the future you really want to upgrade your hubs, you can always have a look at the DT Swiss offering because that’s in my opinion still, you know, the best hubs on the market considering the value for money. I’ll just mention if you are buying this wheel set on the open market, you will be paying as I see here about €483 for the rear wheel and €415 for the front one. So let’s call it €900 would be just this carbon fiber wheel set on the open market. So definitely excellent job from from Cube to include this carbon fiber tubeless wheel set on this bike. Absolutely stunning. Also when it comes to the tires uh I think I forgot to mention. So these tires should be I believe the G1 tires. Let me just double check. Correct. So this is a Schwalby G1 Pro tire. 45 mm front and the back. Also, the frame and the fork can take up to 50 mm tires, which I just think it’s a bit of an overkill on this bike. Uh, but when it comes to these 45 mm tires, it’s absolutely fine. Uh, huge air volume, definitely smooth bike ride, and I don’t think I would ever be going higher than these uh 45 mm tires, both the front and the back. stunning in my opinion. Schwabby does excellent tires. I’ve ridden Schwabby tires and mountain bikes, you know, perfectly fine and they are just excellent. So, all in, as you can see, this uh Cube New Road C62 Pro at 8.7 kilograms in size medium, which I forgot to mention, and the retail price of 2,499 euros is absolutely a stunning package from Cube. I think they’ve kind of cornered the market here with this offering. I don’t see, you know, anybody else coming close to this package. Maybe there is something from Kenyon. I didn’t check lately, but as it is now, this is probably one of the best buys. Probably it is the best buy when it comes to gravel uh bikes in this category, you know, of€25,000 or 2,600 British pounds. I think Cube is going to sell a lot of these bikes and definitely, you know, thumbs up from me when it comes to this uh Cube Neuroid C62 Pro bike. So, this is going to be it for today. I hope you like what I’m doing. If you do, keep on watching, keep on liking, and as always, I will see you soon in the next episode. Cheers.
