New River Valley State Park. Starting in Draper, VA to Fries and Galax, VA. Beautiful trestle bridges and scenery along river, especially in Oct. Several places to refuel. I turn 69 in 3 months. Rode an OPEN U.P. carbon, Di2, 35mm Schwalbe G-1s.
Only packed 2 large/loaded PBJs, one cliff bar, and a bought a much welcome frozen ice cream Twix bar near the end from ranger station. Only needed to buy one extra gatorade beyond the two bottles carried. In retrospect, could have had more fluids but the perfect cool weather fooled me. PR as listed. Rest stops added another hour to total time. It wasn't fast or hilly but posting to encourage other seniors to ride on.
