Morning all. Well, it’s well, it’s been 3 months since we’ve um uh been anywhere or since I returned home uh from Kent. Um various reasons why uh we’ve not been away. um uh hospitals um uh summer holidays and kids have been on their summer holidays and I don’t tend to like going away then when they’re on holiday. Um and yeah, my health and I’ve been working. Um, if you’ve been watching any of my shorts, you’ll probably know a bit, so I’m probably going to repeat myself. Um, but if you haven’t uh watched them, I’ll give you a brief update. And anyway, why aren’t you watching my shorts? Yeah. Well, I returned home uh from Kent. Um yeah, I was in a lot of pain. Um it took quite a while for the pain to settle down and well it I was in well a real load of pain. Um I was taking the oramorph the morphinebased medicine. um rather a bit too much. So I phoned the doctors and well they’ve prescribed me some uh Tramodol now. So taking those I feel a hell of a lot better. Um and then well I committed to work but I mean even this was before I was taking the tramodole and the job I was doing which I thought was going to be a nice quick easy job turned into a bit of a nightmare but once we was taking the tramodol it seemed to go a lot better strangely love. Yeah. So, we only just finished that. Oh, two days ago. And I’ve just had my um daughter’s sixth uh birthday party, which was yesterday. And well, today’s the first day I’ve had a chance to get away. So, we’re heading down to the New Forest. Um, well, this is how bad things have been. They closed um in a couple of days. Blind me. I think we’ve only been down there once or twice this year. I don’t know. So, yeah. The plan is that we’ll stop there um tonight and or we’ll stay tomorrow. We’ll stop there for two nights cuz then they close. So, we’ll make the most of uh them being open. Then I think we’re going to head down to um Swanage and Tomsfield. Uh, from there I’m undecided. I might Well, it’s a toss up of Ssbury or going back to the New Forest and that um other campsite uh Long Meadow. Um then from either of those I think we’ll head over uh to the aisle of white and stop there maybe one or two nights. We I’ve only got well less than a week. I think it’s 5 days or five nights. I’m not too sure. Um but I’ve got to be back home unsurprisingly um uh to have my flu jab. So yeah, um but once we’ve had that, um that’s assuming that I’m all right and my pain’s not too bad. Um I think I’ve got a few weeks, so I’m hoping that then maybe we’ll go a bit further a field. I don’t know. As I say, a lot depends on how it goes um this week. Right, I’ll turn you around. It doesn’t get light very early now, blind me. Sign of times. It’s well just gone 7 and it’s well just starting to get well it is light now but yeah it was a lovely sunrise um coming along the seafront there uh Bogler no point in me putting you on if you wouldn’t really be able to see it right let’s try turn you around Now there come along. Oh god, I suppose. Yeah, we we’re not long out of um B. We’re just I think it’s coming up to Runton and then Chichtor will be shortly after that. I’ll stop there and turn my lights off now cuz I don’t think we need those anymore. Well, we’ve done our usual blooming trick trying to film and well, we managed to look every blooming time we do that. But coming up to my favorite little roundabout. I nearly got blooming wiped out here the other um week when we uh cycled over here. Actually, that was I think that was the first day after I’d started taking um that tremodol and well I mean it was the first time we’d cycled out of Bogna for quite a while. As I say, I was in a lot of pain and well, I was struggling to cycle to the um supermarket, which is only about two 3 miles at the very max. Morning. Yes, we don’t seem to be doing too well. Can’t make my mind up whether I need to put another layer on or not. seems a lot a bit cooler, but it feels anyway. I just thought I I never told you um why I was getting um all my pain. Um I really didn’t know whether it was my um hip, neck, or um back. I suspected it was my hip, but I wasn’t entirely sure. And I’m still not entirely sure. But yeah, I um had to go to the hospital cuz I think Oh, I don’t know. I had to have a hip aspiration. I don’t know whether I I’ve mentioned it probably in one of my shorts. So yes, on last week I uh went to get the results of that. Um luckily there’s no infection in my hip. Well, none that he could find, he said, which is um good. But my hip has started um moving. It has come uh loose again, which is probably why I’m getting all this um pain. So, well, we’ve got to go in and have another hip operation, which will be hip number six, I think it is. Um unfortunately, he doesn’t think it’ll be until um next year. Um, which well that’s quite a long way off. That’s funny. It’s a good 3 months. Um, I’m hoping he’s sort of doing the managing expectation thing, you know, whereas if he said, “Oh, it will be um uh 6 weeks and it doesn’t happen.” Well, you’re not going to be happy, are you? Whereas, if he says next year and then in a month or so’s time or a couple of months, they ring up and say, “Oh, come in for your hip hop, you’ll be fine with it.” So yes, that’s one of that’s what I’m saying about um going away with this um pain cuz well the last time we was on that trapad doll that was just before I contracted sepsis. I don’t think it was anything to do with it. Although it was probably masking how much pain I was actually in. I’m sure it won’t lead to it this time. I think I’m definitely going to have to stop and put another layer on. Really isn’t it warm. I think I’m probably a bit um chilly cuz I got quite hot and sweaty to start with, which I always think and wonder if it’s because I have an infection, but yeah, apparently haven’t. Oh, yes. Of course, there’s no guarantee that when they do the operation, it will come back. But as he said, you know, we we’ve tested for it. So in theory, there isn’t any. But he said there’s no such thing as there’s certain people that keep getting infections, but there is. And you’re one of them. He said, “Oh, thanks.” But when he does um the uh operation, he said they’ll send uh load loads of cultures off um for test just to make sure there isn’t any nasty bugs in there. But yeah, I mean if I got to wait till next year, that is quite a long way off. that we could be on that tramodol for quite a long time. Of course, that might be even if I manage my pain um taking all my medication with me could be a problem for going away. Um, if I remember, I’ll show you um tonight how much I brought just for these few days. Don’t know if I went away for any length of time. Stop a bit further up. There’s a curve. Get a layer out. definitely is a bit fresher. Of course, it’s time for the um usual debate with which way um we’re going to go. Top road or um by the Gossport Ferry. I think we’re going to go uh by the ferry today. Um, I think we’ll miss the uh pink ferry out. So, I think we went that pink ferry last time for memory serves as me. Right. Got it. Matters either way. But yeah, we might change our mind once we get a bit um closer. But yeah, at the moment I think we’re going to go uh Gosport Ferry and we’ll go along uh Portsmouth Seafront or as much as we can anyway. I always like going along there. I think we’re definitely going um uh Gossport Way. Um, I just saw a sign saying the M27 uh West was closed at Hillsy. I think they said probably mean anything to anybody else, but that probably mean the road would be a lot busier than what it normally is. So yeah, definitely going to go uh the sort of cycle route like round gosp. It seems to have warmed up um a bit now. I don’t know whether it was just sort of a a cold patch or or what, but yeah, we never did put another layer on. So, I say it seems to have warmed up a bit. The old tree is starting to change color already. [Applause] I say it’s been so dark in the mornings now and the evenings for that matter. But never mind. As long as it’s not wet and windy, I don’t care. a slightly different way. We’ll go on this um new cycle path they’ve got where they’ve done the sea defenses coming. I think it just cuts out going all the way down that road and then through the sort of houses. Still looks very black over there. But I think that might be going away from us. Although I don’t think we’ve necessarily got the wind behind us. Mind you, looking at those flags. Yeah, it’s safe. We definitely haven’t got the wind behind us. Maybe it’s a suddenly. Who knows? It’s quite a pleasant day for cycling though. This is the road we would have come down normally just to the from the right there. Um we quite often go back um that way when we’re heading home. Of course, probably all um uh football fields up there. So it’s probably all the Sunday league kids playing. See what I mean? I mean very busy people. Lord must be some tournament going on. Normally it is busy. We’re just coming at long spy. See that is Portsmouth. Oh, there go the swimmers. Oh, I can see the ferry going out to corn. Oh, come back. I’m starting to feel drops of rain. Definitely looking over the other way ahead. Definitely looks as if it’s raining. Oh, how annoying. Hopefully we can get to the ferry um before it comes in. And we won’t have to stop twice. It’s not looking good. Just missing the ferry. Just about to leave, but I hope it’s fine. Well, I did relent and look at the um uh forecast while we was on the weather forecast while we was on the ferry. There is a band of rain coming through. Got off the ferry. It wasn’t raining. We’re going into it. So, I think I might have to dig out um my jacket. I’m looking at the radar. I don’t think it’ll be too long and hopefully we’ll get through it quickly now. We’ll stop a bit further up and get my jacket out. Maybe put you away. It’s looking pretty miserable. Right, I’m going to have to put you away. seems to be raining quite hard now. Well, so much for that being a little shower. Um, it’s only just stopped. Um, we’ve just come uh through Southampton, so we haven’t got a huge distance to go. Um, I’ve still got me water boots on. Um, I don’t know whether there’s more rain coming in or not. So, I’ll keep them on for a bit and then I’ll take them off to rather warm. Probably just as wet on the inside. It’s waterproof. Yeah. Meant to be breathable, but I had my doubts. I don’t know what I meant to say. I can’t remember. the last time I had rain coming down the new forest. Although it’s probably because if I see rain forecast, I don’t bother going. I didn’t look at the forecast for uh the rest of the week only cuz I knew I wanted to get away and I was going to get away even if it is to some of these local spots. I say I did look at the forecast at in Portsouth on the ferry that I only looked at today. Right, that’s it. Going to stop. I can see blue sky coming. I can turn you around. Oh, there we go. Blue sky. That’s what we want. Well, I suppose looking on the bright side, the ground might be a bit softer to put the pegs in. Can’t believe how busy this road is today. It’s been nonstop. Hopefully they’re all leaving. Although has been busy coming in as well. But hey, we’re at Lind. So, he’s not far to go now. [Music] We’ve made it. Um Yeah. Well, it’s only just um 2:00, so quite good time. I seem to remember I think we the last couple of times we’ve got down here in time for 2:00. I remember. God, I hate that thing so much. Oh, I wonder if my spot’s there. Let’s hope so. Oh, come on. Right. Let’s see. Hopefully. Oh, there we go. Hi. All right. Yay! Um well, there you go. We’re nearly set up. Um ponies have all come out already to see us. Oh yeah, you’re steaming, mate. I know how you feel. Right, let’s continue. I say nearly set up. I sure continue setting up and and Oh, bless you, mate. There’s loads of ponies about today, aren’t they? Come sometimes don’t see any. Is that wine? I can see wine. You’re being good then? Yeah. Ah, she’s normally here with um another lady. I I tend to see them every year and well, a couple of times they only come from um Worthing just down the road from me. Um unfortunately, her friend’s got um breast cancer, so she’s going through radio therapy at the moment. So hopefully she’ll be okay. Right. Well, it’s 62 mi today. It’s about the sort of normal mileage that we do. We’re just off to the um shops to get some supplies for the night. See, there you go. Look, Rose Pon is here. Oh, you would now, mate, would you? Hey, what you go that way? Oh, god. Yeah, don’t think there’s that many on the site. So, that’s good. There’s a few left since I arrived. Don’t think it was anything to do with me, though. Right. [Applause] God [Music] fuzzy thing. That’s damn handy. Yeah, as I say, I think we’ll be stopping here. Um, well, I think I know. Um, we’ll stop here again tomorrow, even though I’ve only paid for one night. Don’t want to commit too much. Yeah. And then after who knows what we’ll do. We’ll see tomorrow. That’s the point. I’m assuming the high street is open now. If you remember the last few times this year we’ve been it’s been closed. Pretty sure it’ll be open now. Ouch. Yes, there you go. I’ve been good. I’ve never went to the chip shop. Probably cuz it’s not open yet. I don’t know whether it opens on a Sunday anyway. So, I think we’re just going to have a chitzo and chickpea stew unless I do decide to go out and go. Check the fish and chip shop. Although, I might save that for tomorrow. Although saying that Monday’s Oh, chip shops. Oh, I don’t know. We’ll see. Let’s get back to that tent. Oh yes, they got these gates now. They close. Oh god. Place apparently gives them more control, which I I do sort of see what they’re saying. seems to be getting more bloody rolls every time I come here. There you go. You got the washing. We’re trying to dry. Oh, right. I shall speak to you all in the morning. [Music]
