[Music] Yo yo yo YouTube. What’s up? What’s up? Good morning. It’s the weekend and we’re back on the channel. Hello. Welcome. If you’re new, if you’re a returning subscriber, thanks very much for your support. Before we get going, I do need to give a big shout out to somebody that I’ve missed off for a few weeks by accident. Uh so yeah, fabulous uh title to your YouTube account, but good morning and thanks for the support from Visually Impaired Outdoor Guy of Sweden. Look him up. Thanks very much, buddy. And also to Manny. Manny’s been in touch. Um, couldn’t see Manny’s name on uh YouTube. His account must be blocked or something, but he has subscribed and made some comments. So, what’s happening, Manny? Good morning to you. So, big day today. I am off in a minute down into Bristol to visit the team down at Satini and Jack and I’m going to have a proper bike fit to get the right size bike for the bike that I may or may not be buying. Um but yeah, never had a bike bit before. So, um we’ll see how that goes. I’ve just bought bikes basically on fill, not correctly fitted. So, we’re going to see how that what difference that makes today. Um, it should be interesting. Yeah. So, I’m going to try and film that as we go. So, if that’s of interest to you, come along and see what pans out. See you in a minute. Woke up this morning to a sky full of balloons. The Bristol Balloon Fiesta this weekend. Always worth a visit if you’re in the area. This is a temporary cycle path. up on the left in the trees. The B2B on this section’s been shut for quite a while. Retacking it. So, this is a temporary uh diversion, which I don’t like coming down cuz it’s right by the car, but I think they finished a little stretch up here. So, I just wanted to come and have a photo as to what it looks like. This is the new stretch. Oh, green. It’s different. Nice and wide. Previously, you’ve just had that bit on the left, the black tomat. I heard green tarmac the hardest you can get hard in fighting hard. Why do I say that? Cuz there’s a psychopath right. That’s a joke. Little place called French. It used to be a big big hospital here. Famous for his burns unit and brain unit. Sadly closed now. Mom used to work there. This is the old village coming down to the river F. Very old properties down here. [Music] Green tunnel. Sean Paul [Music] bridge. Yeah. Heat. [Music] start kicking off. To be fair, we like a protest in Bristol. Last time they ch the black matter. So we’re just coming up to the specialized shop now. Quite easy to find. Just off the M32 coming into Bristol. I’ll put a link to the website in this video so you know where to go. Best stop in Bristol. Yeah. Put that in there. Yeah. Yeah. Pop it on in. How’s it going? Yeah. Not bad. Have you tidy? All right. Good ride. Yeah. Just buzzing around town a bit. Really? Just you know. Is it? Is that a coincidence? Just Wow. that one. It’s uh So, what I’m going to do is take across some of your position from this and see how So, basically, this is a 56, right? Here we are again. Mark 2. Yeah. So, 760 is your setup post height from gen one, right? Okay. which only makes it more likely that we’re going to go 56 in gen two. But we’ll see because obviously we don’t want to take too low at the front end, but we want to keep a dynamic ride feel between you and the bike. And as soon as we go bigger, we’ve obviously had to shorten Gen One. And as soon as we go bigger, Yeah. it becomes more of a handful to say the least. Nice little ride in this morning. Yeah, but it was a little bit cooler out to actually put arm warmers on this morning. Imagine it was. You see the balloons? No, I didn’t. Busy. Looks like it, doesn’t it? Yeah, it’s been good. It’s been good. We’re doing doing an awful lot of custom builds at the moment. Uh, so a lot of fitting. Is that the like do you get that after the tour of France? Everybody wants a bike or to be honest, it’s usually more early season because people want the build ready for when the season really kicks off. They want it all so that when the sun shines, it’s good to go. Yeah. I think in all honesty, mate, we’re going to be 56 through and through. But it’s always just worth checking. Uh cuz I said where we’ve shortened you here. Yeah. And then where we’ve got the post most of the way down. So, we’re definitely going to be 56 because this is already too long. So, we need to shorten it, right? Okay. So, that absolutely rules out that 58. Now, this is where the critical thing here is exactly what we had with Rust, which is the the stock sizing chart tells you categorically for your height, you’re one size, you are categorically the size. All right. If in doubt, if you are, as a rule of thumb, if you are between sizes as much as there is a thing, always go smaller and then you can adjust it. Always, always, always go down. Look at the look at the benefits Russ has has reaped from that handling and control. Um, he ain’t got no control when he’s compliments. Come on. Yeah, I prefer it to the other um the other option, the navy blue. Yeah, dark navy blue. Yeah. Well, when you popped in last weekend and you mentioned that’s the car you might like. I had a quick cheeky look. There was one left in the UK. I went, “Right, I’m going to order it now.” He’s done like a kipper. Oh, look. Just by coincidence. Mentioned to Jack the other day that this might be the bike I go for and just so happens he’s got one in stock today ready for me. That’s why you got a good salesman. Jump on. This is going to be too long, but we want to see how far out we are. Feels high. It will do. Yeah. On the trainer. Confidence on this. That’s it. Just set up a nice easy rhythm. and just face forward for me. Just keep those elbows and shoulders nice and relax. Is that called standard headset? That’s with the extra stack. This way I mean in terms of length of the stem. Yeah, that’s the stop. But we can come down 10 mil or so from there. Okay, keep pedling through for me a second. I’m just going to put some dots on you. All right. Yeah. [Music] [Music] And drop your drive side foot just down to the bottom of the pedal screw. That’s it. And just hold in that position. Right. So, we’re within effective window, but that’s that’s with you constantly wanting to pull backwards. Um, and we know from the reach from your last setup, which we’ve already dialed. This is still too long. Yeah. Um, so we’re going to go extreme first and then dial back if we need to. Let’s go 20 mil and then switch to 10 if we need to. Bit of timber. Bit bit of timber. keeps everything in as well. It’s like a gor. Yeah, we’re gradually racking up the sub subscribers slowly. I’ve seen Yeah. getting there. Well, I said to you, there’s uh there’s a lot of people that come in now that know who you are. Yeah. I was in my garage the other day just tinkering with the bike getting ready to go out or I might have just come back somewhere. Yeah. and a bloke and his wife rode by on a on a couple of bikes and he just shouted out easy riders. That’s fantastic. But that’s what cycling is. It’s a community, isn’t it? Regardless of at the end of the day, regardless of what format cycling you’re in, whe MTB, whatever it is, cycling that brings people together. Went down by Bristol Bridge and they were it was all kicking off down there. a massive protest down there and I said on the video we got habit of doing this in Bristol chucking statues into the docks and that’s the one. Yeah. Welcome to Yeah, we’re not afraid to speak up. Not backwards in common. Hello lady not long ago she popped into the turbo room and she was after a hybrid and uh she’d seen some of your videos. All right. And she said she said to you um you know Easy Riders. I said, “Yeah, yeah.” I said, “Good lads, I know them.” And she said, “Do you know?” She said, “I can’t understand any of you.” She said, “But I love it.” I said, “Yeah, we’re all Bristolian. That’s why.” Right. Grip reach. So, we got an upward positive degree stem. Right. Just That’s all right. Right. We’re very very close now to the identical setup to mark one actually. Yeah. We’ll try shorter stem in the negative degree. Okay. We’re then going to try shorter stem in positive degree because I know you like to be a little bit more upright. We spoke about that last time. This has still got a rise in the bar the same as it does on your last setup, but this one does have a flared bar cuz that one’s up, isn’t he? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But part of that was a compensation technique for the frame size because if the frame is too long, you normally have to bring a rider higher. They can normally intuitively drop lower. Yeah. And rotate into their pelvis and their core and their back more if the bike is shorter. So, is that that one is that one up or down? So this one’s down at the moment, which is the same degree angle as So it’s only a six degree. So Oh, I can see it now. Yeah, that would be Yeah. up. So quite difference. Yeah. Um last one was in negative. So this one’s going to be negative to start. And then we’ll flip it and try the opposite. Will that accommodate the range extender? Yeah. You don’t have to do any. No, it’s exactly the same as last time. Exactly the same. Same statement. Get another occasion. and cable. Yes. [Music] So, you’ve got a nice position in your hands, same as the bar we change you out to to keep your shoulders straight, but then to bring your knees up through for descending when you’re down in the hood with a flared bar, you trap your knees through nice and smooth, you want to come a little bit higher. Well, I just wonder if you just flip it and see. Yeah, just trying to visualize again. The trouble is, and this is the case for so many riders, is you’ve been used to something that’s a little bit too big. So, put the right size, even if it’s correct, it’s going to feel a Yeah, we’ll flip that stem in a minute and try I’m just going to take a couple of angles and then we’ll flip the stem and try up. Okay. Right. Spin down when you’re ready, mate. We’re going to change that cockpit again. So, we’ll keep size the same, but we’re going to go upright. Angle up. Yeah, that feels better. That’s a bit more of you, isn’t it? Yeah, it’s a bit of knee that relax your shoulders now all of a sudden. I didn’t have to tell you to this time. Yeah. Opened up your hip angle. Hip flexor is not getting so tight. So, your knee’s not coming up so far. Take a few angles. If you just settle into that rhythm again, nothing strenuous, just nice and easy. You could put the assist on yourself. [Music] Spin down when you’re ready, mate. We’re going to pop the right side. do a bit of real world feel. All right. So, essentially this is much more where we want to be. So, 58 would not be possible at all because of the reach. Yeah. With the shortest production stem, this is already a short reach bar. The 58 is too long. Yeah. 56 needs the stack height in because of the position that you favor. And we know with your shoulders and your neck from last time. Um, and more importantly your back keeping your your hip angle open. Space on it as well. It It does. Yeah. I put an extra 5 mil in there. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Yeah. Cool. Um, saddle height is the same. Adjust the saddle nose angle to be the same. Just drop that nose slightly. Um, but yeah, position now is is pretty much the same as what you’re used to. Cool. All right. So more achievable. If you look at it in terms of pure data, you would think the XL in Gen One translates to 58 in Gen 2. Yeah. It’s much more achievable on the size down than it is on the size up. Cool. All right. Yeah. Let’s pop it outside. Cool. Yeah, it feels more in and onto your handsight, you know. Yeah, it’s a compact geo, so we want you nice and tucked in. And go on down the straight, mate. Got me like a clipper, a youa. Yeah, it’s good. It’s got to be right. Yeah, you said. Yeah. Take care, mate. Thanks very much. Anytime. Anytime. I’ll see you in a week. See you. Uh see you in a week. You going to tell Ross or not? Yeah. I can’t eat, but yeah. Yeah. If he texting me tonight, he’ll say to you tonight. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, I I won’t I won’t wind him up. Nothing like that. Right. See you later, mate. See you then. All right. So, you go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Good. Finished watching this Sweden video. This is my second attempt. So, I’m like halfway through. Brilliant. It’s a nice route that way, isn’t it? It is. Yeah. I was just saying um it was only 38 miles Oh. to Swindon and I when you drive it it feels longer. It’s weird, isn’t it? You’re right. It’s the M4. But this route pretty much was parallel with the M4. So it Yeah. Did you go past that really scary house? I haven’t got that far in the video yet, but there’s this really scary house. It looks like one of I call it Railberry House cuz it is scary. It’s um It always scares me going past it. It’s somewhere I think on White Hall Lane. Oh, I think I found it. Not that one. Oh, I can never find it when I want to show somebody. Oh, sorry, Martin. It might be that one. It’s a scary house. I got a feeling I went down that road. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, that one. I did see that. Oh, mate. It just And it looks scary, don’t it? Scary house. I went past that and it caught my eye because I thought, “Bloody hell, that looks really run down.” And it’s all wooden fascia. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, that’s I always get scared driving. Well, I never drive. I’m riding past it. Yeah. Right. Scary. But yeah, I watch Can’t say too much cuz the person that lives there might be be watching. Might be a viewer. I know. I know. I know. I know. Anyway, there you are. Nice to see you, Ellie. Yeah. Take care. Cheers. [Music] Well, that’s me fitted the 56. The jack done me like a kipper. He had the exact boat there ready and waiting and I gone for it, which I’m super excited about. Going to pick it up in uh in a week. I’ll do another uh another pickup bike video. share the experience of picking up a new bike. Loving the color of the new bike. Very grally. A sandy gravel color. Creo2 aluminium frame the cheaper model carbon forks. So yeah, looking forward to getting that one down in New Forest for a forest bean. Big shout out to Jack. Top man. Really does a good job. 1. Was the bike fit part of the sales routine (free) or did Certini charge for bike fit? Just curious because Specialized Nottingham didn't provide any support on bike set up wanted to charge (a lot) for a bike fit. Bike I bought back in 2017 from a smaller retailer, they spent an hour getting the right fit, all part of the purchase price!

  2. Great ride chub they are great down at Certini lovely people always friendly and helpful.that’s why I got so many bikes lol jack done you like a kipper lol but great selling getting the bike you want in .top job look forward to you riding the new whip 👍makes me want to start looking 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣🤣

  3. Good morning Chubs, well it is here in Australia. Congratulations, getting a new bike. Saturday, i cycled to my regular bike shop. Going to bite the bullet myself and get a Gient Revolt E+. Two electric bikes is better than one. Look forward to see you on your new bike next week. Your new bike will be great for the cannel paths as well. Hope the weather continues to be good for the rest of the English summer. Done 85 miles in the last two days on my emtb, still get pain from my shoulder due to the motorbike accident. Hope to do some miles on my Revolt carbon. Anyway as you say electric miles are better than no miles. Bye for now Timo❤.

  4. Great ride buddy . Bought the range extender for my new creo from them .Looks like a fabulous cycle shop I’ll have to visit . Love the creo 2 by the way . Been riding a Ribble SLE for 5 years since I got back riding . Definetly more natural ride feel with the Creo . Great banter in the bike shop

  5. Hi Martin. Enjoy the new Creo 😉. My wife can see straight through me ,when I say I am just looking she knows full well that I will end up buying whether that be bike , golf or car related. I suspect your wife is exactly the same.

  6. Nice one Chubbs, it’s going to be a long week waiting to pick up your new bike.
Nothing beats new bike day! Well maybe new motorbike day, but I doubt I’ll have another of those.

  7. I am 6' 2" and went for the 58, but Jack is right with the reach being long on the Creo 2 and more so than the Creo 1. I have a shorter stem on mine and got a decent riding position with it now. I did consider the 56, but the bar would have been too low for me as I have the 58 adjusted quite up. I fitted a set of Tannus Armour in my spare Creo 2 original wheel, so they are nearly puncture proof !!
