[Music] Welcome back to my my channel. It’s Ging me here already. Um this morning I’m doing a bike ride. Um I left the house. It’s um my it’s taken an hour to get from Washington where I am at this current moment which is in the glass house car park gates head time bridge over there and today I’m doing a bike ride from uh from here along to Jara and then from Jara over the pedestrian uh tunnel under the pedestrian tunnel or through and then head towards Holden then Walls End and then the biker and then back down the keyside and then past the glass house again over the time bridge and then round the town more and then St. James’s Park then back here. I’m guessing that’s going to be about 20 milesish. So, if you want to come along and let’s do this. Um, our traffic is really bad. Like I should have known. Uh, let’s get the bike out there. The car cuz it’s it’s a bit of a heap at the moment. It’s me Nova bike today as well. Me mountain bike. Coland deal hard tail 7. Right, let’s go. [Music] The new gates head arena supposed to open last year. Nearly finished. Right, I’m heading away from the industrial estate. Nice river views now. It’s about 7 milesi from where I am now to Jarrett, so I should be all right. It’s part of the bike. Anyway, if anyone hasn’t seen this bike, I’ll show it off. It’s a Canal hard 7 bike. I should really be down there. Wrong turn already. See if I can find that path. I found it within seconds of that last that that last bit there. Looks like I got the whole place to myself as well. It’s a bit breezy this morning. Like it’s probably ideal cycling temperatures be honest. Like it’s about 13 14° something like that. So great conditions. There’s St. Peters Bay Basin over the river there. It’s nice down there. Like some nice boats in there. Nice views all the way back there side there. Kind of bought that again. Nice. I continue this way. This is Cableman’s way. This cycle track takes all the way to South Shields. So, if I stay on this track, I should be fine. I know there’s a massive uphill coming up when I go to Jara. Like, I’ve been this view once before and I didn’t realize there was a massive steep climb to Jara. Some more boats along here. Nice area like St. Peters Basin I think it’s called. Very nice. Do you know what this built? Oh, these apartments. Yeah, like crep on out of breath. Bit of an uphill there. Like about to come away from the river. This be harder than it looks. Right. Been this way once before and I can’t remember coming so far away from the river before. I’ve sort of headed towards Hu metro. Oh god, I’m knackered. A lot of twists and turns here like but it’s clearly sign it’s easily sign signposted like Cayman’s way route 14 it’s coast to coast apparently looks like I’m going through that gate there just stay there um I was in the state there kind I don’t know what it is like looks like I’m going through here oh god Bring it back if I get near the riverside again. All right. See, I’m going the right way. Back on the riverside. Yeah. On flat ground as well. Candy downhill there towards the river. Coming towards the the former shipyard industry for fur along swan hunter and that used to be there. used to be booming this place for rare shipyards hold the northeast was really middles sunland it’s all changed now smell gas here like viewing right continue I hope this isn’t uphill coming up just saying this I had to stop how cool is the quicky m thank you view you again whoever’s done this is absolutely genius that’s class that question is where’s warmer where is warmer got feel he’s along there with his mates Pretty good. How amazing was this? Whoever’s done this is absolute genius. Most haven’t. Now look at that all the way along. That is amazing. That all the top characters as well. That’s class. Like absolutely brilliant. Well done whoever did this. Quicky Martin most. That’s class that. Right. I’m 3 miles from Jara. So it’s not too bad. Just hope it’s not too many ups and downs on the way. Back along the riverside again. I’m directly opposite Walker in Newcastle across the river. I’ve seen me target. I’ve seen Jarro. There’s like a apartment like flat tower block and I’ve seen it before. So, I’m not too far off. I’ll see if I can keep this camera on just for a second. Nice little viewing area down here. There you go. I think that’s all the old swan hunter over there where the crane the red crane is straight ahead. I’m sure that’s where where the old swan hunter was. I’m not 100% sure though. World famous. You bring it back shortly. I can see where the uh time tunnel is. It looks like an air traffic controller tower straight ahead. You bring it back shortly. There’s nice little viewing area of the ports compass all the industry. Really good. Very good. As promised, I see that showy bike off if anyone hasn’t seen it. It needs a service and that like it’s a Canon deal hard 7. Um had it for a couple of years now. still going strong. Uh it’s 16 gears. I’ve only got eight because um she and she the next disc or whatever it is cassette. It’s just it gets jammed. It’s a shame like but I will get some eventually. Um I’m still hoping to get a new ebike next year. A new like mountain bike one. I could convert this one like couldn’t I but none do 100k on it. soon do like further bike rides for this channel bit further out. I love to ride from Burick to here to home, sorry. And uh I’d love to do a bike ride around the lakes as well on the ebike be going from my was water all the way to um Kzik. That’d be funny. Did a hard not passing that. Probably kill your battery that going that way. Oh yeah, the views here, man. Looks amazing, doesn’t it? I’ve done a ferry from from the time like from the time bridge over the South Shields before and it’s absolutely amazing. Hopefully I’ll do that again one day. Right, I’m waffling bit too much. I think there’s a hill coming up like here. I’m not sure you go around this way here or not. Looks like it’s a dead end there. I could be wrong. I usually am. But yeah, I’m about a mile, two miles from Jara now. So, let’s do this. I think I’ll go through heaven first. Not sure, but there’s me bike anyway. Right, let’s go. I think I’m staying low all the way to the pedestrian tunnel. Absolutely brilliant. That last time I came this way, I don’t think the pedestrian tunnel was open and I had to go into Jarenta and it was a massive uphill. I think I’m staying low this time though. I’m very very close to the pedestrian. I’m sure I am. There’s that air trap controller tower I was seeing. Looks like the one anyway. You see airports? No, I can’t be that far off. Yay. Oh, booger booger booger. I suppose that’s that hill I was telling you about. All right, I knew it. I knew I came. I knew I came up this. All right. Speak too soon, Stephen. [ __ ] Carry on. That was some old slog there. Bit flat now. Almost to Jarro Center. Now I’ll turn left at this at this junction here. And uh the pedestrian tunnel is just around the corner. Jar Center is to your right. I haven’t got a clue what that monster is. I think it’s partly to do with the time, I bet. There it is. There’s pedestrian tunnel. This goes all the way. There it is. Let’s hope the lifts are on. Oh, they’re not. They’re not. The lifts are not on. What surprise? The new state of the arch escalators is not working. Surprise, surprise. And now we got to come down this now. Freaking lift. It’s scary. This lift. I don’t like it. Right. Let’s get in it. Think it’s here now. Hear that? Sounds safe, doesn’t it? Oh, here we go. I don’t like this bit. Mine is closing. Hello. Music door’s closing. I’m trapped. Feels so claustrophobic in here. Like right. Let’s get over there the other side of the river. It’s always cold in here. Oh, it’s really cold. Hope the escalators worked on the other side like better not. I’m not bored with this whole length. Right, let’s get there. Very heavy. I like this. must have made. So, leave room for like two bikes really, but I think it’s kind of cool. It’s like I like the way they’ve done this. But the other side’s not on for some reason. But yeah, but uh on the other side, the escalators and lifts weren’t working one day. We’ve come back from North Shields and what to carry both bikes. Me and Andrew had to carry both bikes up and there was stuff on the bikes as well. had me sat on the bike last time with bags very heavy right most at the top now heading to home then walls end uh and then on the biker and back on the key side over the time bridge tower I’ve already got up to our window here like right on the top now bring you back shortly it’s heading to Willington K going down this way takes you all the way down to Roman and Segdom or Segdom what it’s called uh to where the Adrian’s wall ends about 2 miles down here. I’m not going to like bother it. I might not far off walls then center now like just gone past holding the turn off. Shouldn’t be too long. Roman that’s up a travel control tour. It’s a Roman segdum. Ad Hrien’s wall where it ends Hrien’s wall. There it is. That little block there is the end of Hrien’s Wall. [Music] That’s it. 80 miles that goes all the way to White Haven. Uh Carl, sorry. White Haven. That’s close. Of course. And that white building there, it’s like a museum type thing. It’s like a little area like see how the Romans lived. And this here is where the buildings used to be. I don’t really know why I know much about it. Yeah, to be fair like but read up about it. Yeah, that’s so that’s the end of Adrian’s wall there. 80 mi across. Best place to go, I think for me is where the sycamore gap the sycamore tree was. So someone disgracefully ripped it down. If you look back on my videos, there’s a drone footage of it. I did of it before it got cut down. It’s absolutely amazing. Anyway, head back up that way into Walls End and then along the biker. It shouldn’t take long to get back to back to G Newcastle. I’m going to carry on. Just going through the central walls then now it’s very busy. So limit me filament. I have to get out from walk soon like One long boring stretch coming up there. Oh, I think the end of this road here. I think you’re turning left towards biker. I’m not sure if I’m that far along or not. So, I’ve just come out of walls then. So, maybe not. We’ll see. Right, I’m inviting now Newcastle Climbing Center Church Connie. I didn’t get like that. Wouldn’t expect that. Wouldn’t expect that there would you. Right, I’m heading on to the Shields Road and T Newcastle. I’m not good. Here we go. Just go down that way. Yeah. So, this is Biker Shields Road. Uh, chase over the biker bridge in Newcastle. I’m going to try and find me way to the the bike wall if I can and go down to Kai from there is his way of doing it. I’m not really familiar with this area like let’s see really see much there. That’s the biker wall there. You can’t really see much like goes out for like half a mile by a wall. Going to head down there now. All right. Heading towards the key side now. We’re not burn near the time the time bar. God, it’s been kind of this ride. I’ll see if I’ve still got time to go around the um town more. I’m not sure I’ve got the time to be honest. We’ll see. Need be back at 1 by 2:00. So, I’m going pick this uh sun off from school. Got work this afternoon as well. 4:00. Right. We’re at the riverside now. There’s the time bar. Nice little pull dot. There’s the riverside. All right, let’s go. Right, I’m back to glass house. Car’s just behind it. But now I’m going to head up back towards it really. Then head over the time bridge. I’ve got plenty of time. Got like an hour or so. So, get the tower and then round by St. Junior’s Park, then back over the high level bridge and then back here. That’s the Wait, back to car. That’s the plan. I’m guessing that’s going to be about 20 mi in total. Let’s go. Little hill coming up. There you go. Back the glass house. It’s beautiful, isn’t it? Right. Head back the car. I’ve decided I’m not cheating the car now. I I’m not going to go over the time boosters. I’ll do that another time. I’ll do another short video of that another time. at the moment tired. Done about 15 miles, you know. I wasn’t expecting uh so many ups and downs all the way to Jara. Anyway, bring it back in that car park which is just above Batman’s head. If you can see it, bring it back shortly. I find the car park now. And there’s the car. Oh god. That’s it. Done. Video. There it is. The car. I’m actually showing off the first time I think. Nice little car. Like it’s done it job so far. Goss time bridge. St. James’s Park popping through as well. Let’s see it. Right. Just spin you around a second. So that was uh from the glass house car park to Jara uh via the river river path. H that was brutal sometimes up and down all the time uh to Jara anyway through the pedestrian tunnel down that scary lift um into Howen ride along to Walls End come out of Walls End long boring road and then chase past Newcastle Shopping Center and that’s what’s called Newcastle Shopping Park and then into biker and then down at the riverside and back along to here via the Millennium Uh, if you like that, watch it to the end.
