The 2026 tour of to France. From the beaches of Barcelona to the cobblestones of Paris, we already know where it starts. We know where it ends. But everything in between, that’s where the mystery lies. And remember, you can catch the presentation live and on demand straight from Paris this Thursday, October 23rd, for all of our viewers on Flow Bikes in Canada. Now, let’s break down what we know, what’s rumored, and why the 2026 route could be one of the most unpredictable tours in years. It all begins on July 4th in Spain. Starting in Barcelona with something we haven’t seen in years, at least not on the first day of the race. A team time trial. 19.7 km through the streets of the Catalonian capital with two categorized climbs thrown in. This won’t be a parade. The time gaps here could already matter. Stage two, 178 km from Tarragona back to Barcelona. Eight categorized climbs along the way with that same nasty finish that we see in the team time trial. A little uphill punch to the line. Then stage three crosses the Pyrenees border, finishing at Long, a ski resort perched to 1800 meters. That means a summit finish on day three. From there, the race winds its way through the Pyrenees, rumored to be hitting Fua Ho over the Kodellis and the Kusulor, two climbs that always bring chaos. By the end of week one, the Pelton will have raced north through the mountains out of Spain in a city center finish in Bordeaux, wine country. It’s classic tour geography. Big mountains early followed by a reset before the mass central. The first rest day comes in Canal on July 13th. Week two will keep the legs burning. On Bastil day, the riders will head through the massive central to Laurian. there. Well, it’s higher altitudes, rough, tough climbs all day long. It’ll blow apart the race, especially if we have bad weather or extremely hot weather. Then the route heads northeast, Dole, Belelffort, Mullhouse, and Learststein. The Voj Mountains, not as high as the Alps, but brutally sharp climbs. Then another mountaintop finish, Plateau De Soles. Then we have a rest day at Tonan Leban. Rumored rest day there on the shores of Lake Geneva. Rest reset for the brutal third week to come in the Alps. Now this is where the rumors get murky, but for sure week three will bring fireworks. A final push through the Alps and fans rejoice. A rumored return to Alp the Wes. the 21 hairpins, Dutch corner, the ghost of Lemon, Pentani, Pidcock. It’s almost certain to be back and it could come as early as stage 17 or 19. And some are even saying on the penultimate day, stage 20. In this period of the last week, we know according to rumors that we have a summit finish at Orier. a time trial, an individual time trial after the team time trial that kicks off the tour. That’s to be slotted in there, too. And if the organizers are bold, a mountain time trial maybe on Alpawz. After all that, it’s Sunday, July 26th, the big finish in Paris. We already knew that, and we hope the rumors are true that we return and climb the Mont Mart. a few circuits on that like we saw last year for the first time when it also rained on the riders.
