This is what goes into building a bike that has been in a flight case travelling around the world for the last 6-weeks. With the last three rounds of MXGP ending with back-to-back races in Turkey, China and Australia, the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP teams and mechanics have been put to the test. After less than a week back at home in Belgium, they’ve arrived in the USA ready for #MXON. This is what went into preparing Maxime Renaux’s YZ450FM for the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations this weekend.

  1. My stock 1986 yamaha FZ 750 road racer that i raced at pocono race way 2.56 mile road course was the only motorcycle i ever saw that had standard fuel baffles in the gas tank to keep the gas from sloshing around….off the showroom floor…i ve been partial to Yamaha…gas tank baffles in the stock gas tank…

  2. Thanks for sharing! Back in 1976 & '77 while racing 2 mx classes 250 & Open, I'd alternate taking my bikes completely a part each week to clean and inspect them. Only items that I didn't take a part weekly were the swing arms, forks, and steering heads… Those were done about every couple of months. Everything else was removed completely, including the motors to be 110% cleaned. No sticker kits back then to fiddle with! All my stickers back then (DG, BEL-RAY, JT, BELL, JOFA, HI-POINT, & RS) went on my foot locker that held all of my riding gear. Are there any old timers out there from the PNW that can remember what bike shop had the initials "RS"?
