I’m back sort of. So, I’m heading to the Kemlberg, not far from E. Well, I’m hoping not far from E. I’ll put it into my Wahoo. And it’s 6.7 miles away. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Okay, so I have seen plenty of signs for Kent Wgum and I have not researched this ride or this area at all. So I’m going to guess this is either the route or maybe a small they do. I don’t know. I better find out. Heat. Heat. [Music] So, we’ve gone from flat to one big hill, I think. Well, they’re not that big. Foolishly, I had really researched this ride. I don’t mind using the word really. I hadn’t researched this ride, so I’m assuming this is the camelberg. We shall see. If not, I’m going to have to Google it. That’ll do it. Oh, how about it? Still goes up. How about it keep going up? Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Oh no. [Music] [Music] So, I’m guessing I’m on the right hill because look in Belgium they do that. Definitely nailed it. Definitely nailed it. Right, going to loop back a different way. Obviously, you can’t go back the same way you came. So, if you’re visiting Bel Belgium for a bike ride, visit some of the history. The history of World War I, the men in gate, certainly well worth a visit. And depending how emotionally charged you are, you might shed a tear. I did. Yeah. Very moving a tribute that they play. They play a bugle every night. three chaps there were when we visited plane a bugle the last post. So anyway that is one of many things to see about the the torment the tragedy just the death the absolute devastation and death that this area experienced in the first world war and obviously then in World War II that um holiday. So yeah, bit of a somber reminder what actually went on in this beautiful landscape is lovely. Flat but lovely Back on the Gent Wgum route and heading towards Kunard Chapel Cemetery. Sorry anybody if I just butchered that weird noise. I wonder what’s going on. And um thank thankfully I’ve got that tool back of the van to fix that. So uh a bit of a backstory if you’re new to this channel. Call myself the Lake District Bellow Guide. But today I’m not in the Lake District. I’m in Belgium. The last time I rode this bike was on the Three Peaks last year. It’s never been ridden by me since. It’s probably had maybe 10 miles put on by my lad cuz he’s suddenly grown big enough to ride it. Just while I had it out, he wanted to ride it so I let him ride it. Um it’s an on one. It’s a gravel bike and it has like I say hasn’t been ridden since the three peaks. It’s been battered on the Three Peaks. It’s got the same wheels and tires it had on in Three Peaks. I took If you want to watch that video, by the way, it’s somewhere up here. Right onward. And hopefully this uh disc will stay intact. And this is a remembrance tree. Number 201. [Music] The wolf she cries at night. [Music] Breath had born in the black wind where the shadows lie. Deep in time despair. Our hearts grow fierce. Our minds away. We carry on. We carry on. Carry on. We carry on. We carry on. We carry on. And there we go. That’s my first ride in Belgium. Stay tuned. There’s going to be a left turn coming up back to where I started. So, don’t forget to comment, like, and subscribe if you’re new to the channel. Welcome. Share with a friend, family member, or even a stranger cuz of course it helps me, which helps the channel. And then that’ll encourage me to provide more content, right? A welldeserved shower, I think, and maybe a little bit of bike maintenance. See you next time. Heat. Heat. [Music] It’s always darkest before the door. [Music]
