day 132 of cycling around the world, day 2 in Spain! 🌍 #biketravel #bikepacking #cyclinglife #cycle #biketour #traveltheworld #adventuretravel #traveltiktok #spain
I’m along for day two of riding my bike through Spain and day 132 of riding my bike around the world. I started off the morning with a little iced coffee from the grocery store. And right away we started climbing. We had a lot of elevation to do today and I was definitely looking forward to getting some beautiful views. The fall colors were really gorgeous and looking at the leaves was so nice. Um, but I’m really trying to reframe my perspective on elevation because obviously on a trip like this, you’re going to have to climb some mountains and going to have to have some hard days. And yeah, the mental game is so important. Um, so I pushed my bike a little bit and then we got this beautiful view of the valley that we had just climbed up, but we were not even close to being done yet. We still had a ways to go. It had kind of sprinkled while we were coming up and so the valley looked so green and yeah, it was really nice to see. This is so tough. But we’re like 30% of the way through, so I guess almost there. Yeah. On big elevation days, there’s a lot of riding, but also a lot of pushing the bike for me. I find like there’s a certain grade where it’s like diminishing returns to try and ride. I just get too tired. And so I pushed the bike, but that’s okay as long as you get up the mountain or up the hill like you did it anyway. Um yeah, and we were getting into like this really foresty section. It was so beautiful. We felt very like alone out there. Um it was a little muddy at points, so we had to walk around a few puddles and then we had a really really fun downhill section. Um also gravel and like kind of off-road so you had to have a lot of focus. Um, and then we finally made it back onto the tarmac and we had done the big chunk of the climbing for the day. We still had a little bit left to go, but hills on pavement are a lot easier than hills on gravel. And yeah, then we we were making our way to Pamplona today. And so we were getting close to the city. We had a beautiful sunset. And we plan to take a couple rest days here because we want to explore the city and eat some good food. And yeah, so that is all for today. I will catch up with you guys very soon. See you.

So they biked about 30 miles and gained just under 3,500 feet in elevation.
