HELSINKI bike tour + hidden gems/facts

Went out on a Sunday morning for a bike ride around East Helsinki, brought the camera along to show the beauty and how quite it is, soon the restrictions here will start to loosen, so it will start to get more busy. It was quite the bike ride.

[Music] you’re playing your cards with your Queen of Hearts when you pick thank you flicking on the video and well without favorite girl if game say hey you’re pleased in your bed showing your eyes you got me [Music] [Applause] [Music] but you found a great [Music] when I use my [Music] just me and my bike in Helsinki so following on from yesterday I decided to get my running legs a little bit of a rest and hey why not we can enjoy cycling and you’ve got to be grateful for that so come out for a bike ride and I thought I can’t saw as Helsinki early in the morning on a Sunday see what it looks like appreciate it whilst it’s still quiet because I think the co vid 19 restrictions are going to be dying down pretty soon is there a good thing or bad thing that allowed in your talking you’re [Music] your heart is back and it’s a fact no turning back you got me [Music] [Applause] breakdown [Music] right when I use my wish I know what you’re all thinking right rocky stairs I know you’re also willing me to do it okay [Music] [Applause] [Music] okaythat’s carry only the bike ride [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I just love to get the drone up in this area but this isn’t no drone zone say they’ll have to be put up with me on the bike suffering like this up a hill on Coors [Music] Oh [Applause] when I turn feeling strong this building here is the National Registry building I think you know like so I’m registered as a citizen here and the number on it says five million five hundred and forty four thousand nine hundred and twenty two people live in Finland so five million five hundred and forty four thousand nine hundred and twenty-two inhabitants in Finland that’s pretty amazing like how big the country is and how little people are compared to if you think about like the UK I think is like 60 to 70 million people and so much less space I think the UK fits into Finland like twice so the legend of Helsinki stays true to its finish birthright and there’s one really cool thing and this kind of like derelict area called Samba sorry they have this communal sound and let me show you hey guy this little place here which looks like a little bit of a hundred a food truck doesn’t it it’s a sound which is communal free of charge you can go and use it you just need to you know be respectful take your own word I think it’s open throughout the year in the winter in the summer yeah it’s a pretty cool thing pretty soon though this area cause it’s slap bang in the middle of Helsinki you’ll see on the map here it’s gonna be probably overrun with apartment blocks as you can see over there they’re building lots of them [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I’ll let you into a little secret today I was a little bit lethargic when I woke up and thought maybe we just don’t go out and ride we don’t go out run and we don’t even film a YouTube video but you know what I’m out here I’m doing it I’m filming YouTube video as you can see and I’m really enjoying it and yes I’m so happy I made that decision to come out come and ride and start filming I just love it I love sharing everything and like I hope you’re enjoying as well I know there’s not so much topic and kind of like information sometimes in some of these videos but you know I think it’s it’s enjoyable to just share like the sights and surroundings my thoughts and feelings let me know do you like these types of videos as well I’d be interesting for me to know rather than just me rambling on about the fool who follows the full the full is the full [Music] don’t let the blue skies and the sunshine fool you is probably like 10 or 12 degrees so it’s still a little bit chilly [Music] anyone wondering where I am right now it’s called most Akuma which means blueberry country blueberry island as funny ma means country but I think it also means countryside country as in like you know Finland and everything so here we are at blueberry country doesn’t look like a blue every day [Music] okay we’ve only got 5% battery left so let’s cue the b-roll and we’ll catch up in a moment [Music] I couldn’t resist just quickly trying to get this in but this building here in this area resembles like kind of like a little soft spot in my heart because this is where when I first came to Finland I started to learn Finnish I came on an intensive course and I was here for like just under a year and managed to learn some of the Finnish language and yeah I met some pretty cool people some pretty strange people as well and we were like for a mix of all over the world from Egypt to USA to UK to France it was pretty amazing [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music]
