[Applause] [Music] Yay! [Music] [Applause] Wow! Nestled along the banks of the river mine, Ashafenborg boasts a rich history that dates back to Roman times. Whatever the season, Ashafenborg is always worth a visit. It is a town that combines tradition and modernity, shopping and culture, a buzzing atmosphere and architectural splendor, a quiet natural spaces and urban convenience. Ashenborg is a compact town. You can easily discover its many sites on foot. So, if you’re around Germany and are not sure if a shuffenborg should be included in your itinerary, keep watching and join me as we learn some of the interesting things to see in Ashenborg. The city’s charming ambiance with its many fountains add a touch of liveless and fun. Its unique colorful buildings, shopping centers, restaurants, and wealth of culture offer visitors a variety of things to do. The best place to explore in Ashafenborg is its historical center. A walking distance from its main train station. The city’s strategic location made it a target during World War II, resulting in heavy bombing that destroyed much of the historic center. Postwar reconstruction efforts restored many of these landmarks, preserving the city’s connection to its storied past. The route to the town hall is a maze of narrow picturesque alleyways where traditional bars and quaint restaurants alternate with pretty little half-timbered buildings. An impressive collection of buildings has stood upon Steve Bergill for more than thousand years such as the Koligia church. It is as much a part of cityscape as the castle. It is dedicated to saints Peter and Alexander. I really like the ensemble of steel plats consisting of a monastery fountain, a monastery basilica and some halftimbered houses. It was built in 10th century and experienced many changes by destructions in the course of time. The core building was built as a romanist basilica. The abbey basilica is richly furnished with outstanding works of art history to include the early Baroque pulpit. The Margaret Shrine, a shrine containing the remains of several saints. Also impressive is the late Baroque high altar covered by a canopy. Among the precious items, the baptismal font of Conrad von Mosbach and the fancy tomb of the elector and Archbishop of mines. Visitors will also find numerous masterpieces in the interior of the church such as paintings and commemorative plaques. Other artifacts are also exhibited in the abbey museum. After the ste I came across the theater plat of which is one of the largest sun dials in Europe. In front of it is the city theater built in 1811 and severely destroyed in the war which today has a modern glass facade. The city’s identity is shaped by its location on the banks of the river mine. This provides scenic backdrops for many of its attractions from royal palace to peaceful parks. As I continue my walking tour, I enjoyed relaxing hours along the mine where the riverside prominade invites you to take a leisurely stroll. You will surely enjoy watching the boat on the river, the scenic view and other famous landmark in the city such as the Pompanum, a striking replica of the ancient Roman villa from Pompei. The wide bands of the river mine run through the city, adding not only scenic beauty, but also practical transport links as boat trips and river paths connect Ashenborg with neighboring towns. Before I got myself to the grounds of Ashafenborg’s crown jewel, I came across an interesting structure, an elevator with a connecting bridge. It is barrierfree and with impressive views of the mine river and the festival grounds, the historic surroundings of the castle and the upper town. 14 m higher can be reached from the mine river bank in just 14 seconds. Alternatively, one can end a stroll for the old town with a comfortable ride down to the riverbank using this elevator. Finally, I am at the grounds of the Schllo Yuanisb, a magnificent renissance palace dominating the skyline. This red sandstone edifice is one of the most significant and beautiful manrist building in Germany. Its unique features include a chapel, the royal living quarters, the world’s largest collection of architectural models made from cork, the state gallery with paintings, and the palace museum of Ashafenborg which houses works of art and historical artifacts spanning six centuries. Ashafenborg truly provides perfect backdrop for a relaxing stay with plenty of things to see and experience. A shuffen board guarantees a memorable escape. I hope that this video will help you appreciate the town even more. And before I’m going to end this video, allow me to say that life is full of wonder. Even if we are in the point in life where we cannot appreciate things, it sometimes helps to remember that there are really things to enjoy when we are ready. So let us seize every moment as they come with open hearts and arms outstretched to embrace the possibilities that lie before us. This is Johnny’s channel. Until my next travel, cheers. [Music]
