Is Tatt Pagachar the greatest cyclist of all time? Because what we’re watching right now might just be the most complete rider the sport has ever seen. And it was a heck of a 2025 season. Now we have Cyclross coming up for our US and Canadian viewers in 2026 ahead. Make sure you’re signed up on Flow Bikes. Now, let’s talk about the question everyone’s asking. Is Tad already better than the great Eddie Merks? He said it himself after Ilardia. Each year I try to do better than the last and so far he said I’ve been successful in doing so. In 2024 he won strate leaz baston lege rest reset jeratalia overall doubled at the tour to France Jirro tour double went on to pick up the world championship title in Zurich. Then in 2025, he did it all again. This year, skipping the giodalia and teasing us with the Voltaspa, but he did double up at the World Championships, taking the title following up last year’s win this year in Rwanda, and a week later the European title. 20 wins, four Turf France titles, five times in a row in Lombardia. It’s a type of dominance we haven’t seen in decades. And if we could just pick apart his Palmars a little bit, there’s some missing parts. Milano Sanremo and Perrier Bay. The other two out of the five monuments he hasn’t yet won and picking up the overall title at the Valta Espña. He already said those are the ones that keep him motivated, the monuments he still dreams of winning. And if he ever pulls off that, we’re talking about someone who’s conquered every type of race in cycling. Eddie Murks the great that everyone keeps bringing up. He’s the gold standard of greatness, the cannibal. But Pogachar, he’s doing it in an air that’s faster, deeper, and more competitive than ever. He wins in the high mountains, the monuments, the world championships. And that’s something that Yonas Vingaga, as great as he is, hasn’t been able to replicate. Vinga can dominate in the tour, but Pagachar dominates the entire calendar. So, what do you think? Drop down in the comments. Is Tad Pogachar the greatest ever cyclist? Or does he still need to pick up those other wins? Maybe the Walt Spana, Milano Sanremo, Peru Bay, or is Eddie Mks still king? Let us know your thoughts. Also, while you’re down there, hit that subscribe button. That way you’re not going to miss out on any of our upcoming coverage. We got the World Cups of Cycle Cross coming up for our US and Canadian viewers. We have the tour to France presentation for 2026 as well and right around the corner the 2026 season. So buckle up. For sure Eddie Mks, the great Belgian has had his air. But this this is the air of Tad Pogachar.

  1. The Cannibal will always be the greatest because what no one ever discusses anymore is the fact that he and a few others like the badger won all those races mostly after drinking all night now these guys are in bed at 9. So you cant even compare this generation to that era of the Cannibal.

  2. Honestly? Pogi’s the greatest rider of all time, no question about it! Even if he goes on to win Milan, Paris, and the Vuelta — even if he pulls off the Giro, Tour, and Vuelta all in the same year — the haters will still be there. It’s just like Djokovic in tennis. If he were French, Italian, or Spanish, people would’ve already crowned him the GOAT. But since he’s Slovenian, that debate will never end.

  3. If pogi can do this for 2 or 3 more years I'd be more comfortable giving him the crown. We shall see… Merckx winning 7 MSRs is wild, I'd really like to see pogi win 1

  4. Pogacar is the greatest for me. I luv Merckx but to DOMINATE all year in any type of race is unmatched, especially as he's doing it against future cycling legends such as Van Der Poel, Remco, Jonas, Van Aert and making it look like he's on another level to them. Plus he's beating this guys attacking from 40-100km to go… and these legends and team mates can't catch him.
I don't think Poggi will win San Remo or Roubaix unless Van Der Poel is not there or below par as he has more raw flat and cobbled power… but if he continues winning the same or similar races for me he is still the best and would become the greatest.

  5. Nobody can ever say for certain – when Eddie was racing the fields were slightly smaller however the big difference between then and now is that when Eddie was racing it was predominantly France, Italy, Belgium and Spain with a sprinkling of riders from Germany and Holland – Eddie was racing against the best that could be assembled at that time, but it could hardly be considered as 'world' cycling, like it is now…plus many riders are more 'specialists' today, with none matching Pogi's range. Eddie was undoubtedly the greatest of his time – no argument – but since the advent of true world cycling all future aspirants will need to be measured against Pogi, not against Eddie.

  6. Tadej is probably the Greatest now, but if he wins La Vuelta, Paris-Roubaix and Milan-San Remo it's not even debatable imo.
Nothing against Merckx but cycling was much less professional back than to now (you could say that about a lot of sports today), also Merckx tested positive a few times to banned substances.

  7. Gil played basketball but doesn’t get the sport. Big guys can handle the ball bc you aren’t allowed to pressure the ball period. Guys could handle the ball back in the day. Watch any game from the 90s and you’ll see something in a moment or two that will show it, but you couldn’t put the ball on the ground when dudes were inside your frame. That’s it. PGs are also worth less. C the game has been simplified to 2-3 plays max. So there isn’t as much value to someone that gets you in plays.
