I’ve wanted to upgrade my climbing gear and was looking into the 12 speed grx but it’s pretty expensive for my usage so I started to look to other possibilities. During my research I found out, that the rd m8000 GS dereilleur can clear 46 teeth cassettes and started looking into its specs. I found out that the cages from the dereilleurs are similar (one picture is grx, the other xt, forgot which is which…they use a different washer so the assembly has another parts number) so I’ve tried the 11-46 cassette and it’s flawless. Just had to turn the b tension screw 1,5 revolutions in for the additional clearance (compared to the 11-42 cassette). I realy like this cassette, because it’s basically the same gearing, but the last cog is 46 t instead of 42. Only problem is that the dereilleur cage bends slightly on the biggest cog but that’s due to the 1by system.
