And so they emerge out into the daylight and out into the noise. Well, there’s a bit of sunshine, but there is a chill wind at Portman Road on this early autumn day. and Ipsswitch praying it heralds the wind of change in this particular fixture over 16 years of waiting of great pain. [Applause] We saw Jim Mjilton a moment ago he doubtless is praying that anotherman will be the next to follow him here this afternoon in Kieran McKenna. [Applause] Here’s Furlong. Gelli now hurst after this and he’ll get there first perhaps. Just seem to hold up. Filligin is there. The whistle’s long gone and the cheers will stick throats. Hurst the guilty man. Norwich relieved. Yeah, it definitely seems to be a tactic from Kier Mcken to turn Norwich around. I think the ball holds up. It bounces. It gives Darling a chance to get round goal side which he does well I think then when Hurst makes contact with him the free kick is going to be given but Darling reacts well. There is a little shove there. The left arm comes out. It is the right call but [Applause] Furong up against well that’s Chancy with Matson always ready to try and get on the end of something. Caye has been robbed. making headway and forcing the first save of any real description from Alex Palmer. That’s a comfortable save again. It comes from playing that ball into a really tight area. There’s two three Norwich players swarming around the the man in possession. They win it back. I can understand why he takes the shot on. You can’t pick Sergeant out, but he’s got to go to the keeper’s left. Ideally, drew it along the floor. Well, the last Ipsswich manager to lead the club to success in this fixture is in attendance, Jim Mjilton. Heelli and that well I thought Kvachovic was going to take it or deal with it. He didn’t either. Well, just come and catch it. They play their way out from the back brilliantly here. It’s his first time really done it comfortably, but the ball in is a dreadful one. He’s under no pressure. Just go and catch it. I’m not sure what he’s trying to do. He’s trying to punch it clear. I think he is. He’s going that right fist. Will just catch the ball. No idea what he’s doing. Well, we’ll see if he lives to regret it. And back across by O’Shea and in Kip. He certainly picked his time and place to score his first goal for its town. And Kavachovic made to pay the heaviest price. Well, it’s just about decision making. He should be catching. He goes to try and punch clear. Makes a complete hassle. It gives away a cheap set piece. The delivery is excellent. It’s flat. His pace is kept alive at the far post and then anything could happen once that ball comes down. But Kipray reacts brilliantly as the ball breaks. He’s facing the target. He reacts like a center forward. Absolutely smashes it home on the half volley. But it’s because he’s ready to strike it. No defenders. Center halfs coming up for the back. They don’t expect this type of chance to to happen, but he is ready. And it’s a devastating finish, but avoidable from a Norwich point of view. It’s a set piece they should never have given away. Cernat chasing. Can he dig it out? Davis doing his utmost to prevent that now. Can Norwich find an answer from a set piece of their own? It’s a really good reaction from Norwich to go in behind. They’ll be they’ll be shell shocked, you know, by it. The the manner of the way the goal was given away. All you can do is react, get on the ball, get forward, try and equalize as as quickly as possible. And they’re doing that. Way swinger Schwarta outside the area. And it will fall away of Schwart. It didn’t take them long. A little nick helping them on the way, but that is how to answer back. Of course there’s there’s good fortune in terms of the deflection but I just mentioned about the reaction to going behind from Norwich. They were positive they forced it switch back. They got the set piece and then they bit a good fortune doesn’t strike it on target. They don’t score. It’s the fact that they didn’t feel sorry for themselves. Sit back wait for to get at them again. They step forward but once it takes the touch there’s no chance for Alex Palmer Schwart. Right decision. Don’t try and control it. take it first time. Does it come off Matiasu? I think it does. He just catches the midfielder. No chance for the goalkeeper. But what a reaction from Norwich. So 188 seconds between the goals through Matson’s legs. Good work by Filigene. Great work by Figene. Every time this man strikes, it’s a goal to treasure. And that is one for the ages. one that will be talked about here in Suffukk for generations to come. It’s just a stunning individual goal. The way he protects the ball in the first place from Matson spins away from him. There’s not much else on. But to then pick out the top corner with the cleanest of strikes. You got to consider Philine has hardly had really a kick in the game. Could the goalkeeper maybe do a little bit better? Does he go maybe through his gloves? We’ll have to see. But Filigene, it’s absolutely stunning the way he picks the ball up, his strength, and then just one thing on his mind is hitting the target with a clean strike. And it is an absolute beauty. A little moment where we hear the strains of on the ball city, the traveling supporters doing their best to lift them and Ipsswitch doing their best to lift them as well. Matson finding Topic. Terrific challenge there by Cae. as I think Topic had taken the safety offic’s [Applause] challenge on the edge of his own box. Mata Seawwork getting the ball away. Caillou retrieves the situation. Now Cernat Pilligene tracking back and making an important challenge that briefly halts Norwich. But here’s Fischer Schmatau up against Furong Topic with an opportunity and it was not far away. It’s a window of opportunity that opened wide there for Norwich. Yeah, but he should be doing much better at the very least. He got to hit the target. Schwart brilliant draws all the extra defenders towards him. plays it to the man in space. See, Alex Palmer, there’s no chance of him making a save here if it’s on target. That’s a great ball by Davis for Hurst. No hint of a flag and in the end, no hint of a shot. Bizarrely, I mentioned it earlier with him. His attacking positioning outstanding. gets into a goalc scoring spot and then just again it’s not clinical. Is he pulling that ball back for somebody? Why is he not trying to score himself? He’s lurking again here. Hurst Figine. Well, if he scores here, that would have topped his first goal. Great first touch. Just couldn’t keep it down. It’s a brilliant forward run. You got defenders ball watching, trying to play offside. He’s definitely on side as he makes the run. He’s got absolutely no support. Brilliant from Philigine. Great first touch. Just can’t keep the strike down, but looking really stretched at the moment. Norwich. Well, we know who the spotlight’s on. The latest to cross the rarely bridged divide. Marcelino Nunes. Jack Clark is going to replace the young Norwegian Cindra Eeli. And the cheers drown out the derision from Canary Corner at Portman Road as Marcelino Nunees takes the field. Nunes becomes only the ninth player to play for both clubs in the East Anglian derby. He scored the winner for Norwich last time the two sides met. Nobody in history has scored for both clubs in this fixture. Not in a competitive context at least. Here’s Azon with a real opportunity. Oh, and Clark is there. What an entrance. And the sound you’re hearing is the sound of 16 years of yearning pouring out at Portman Road. They believe at last that derby victory they craved has arrived. Well for Kieran McKinn I talked about him making lots and lots of substitutions in the past. How about this for a goal as you say that ends those years and years of frustration. It’s Nunes with the forward pass. It’s Azon who’s in on goal who should really score himself. He doesn’t. But just watch Jack Clark. He doesn’t stop and wait to applaud his his teammate for scoring. He follows the ball in. So when it breaks back off the post, it’s not by accident. He’s there to tuck it home. The substitutes coming on affecting the game. He said on a number of occasions they were getting really stretched. Norwich there wide open there defensively all over the place. Punished them and it’s the three substitutes that combine to surely kill the game off. I don’t think we should be too surprised that you know it’s seemingly going to go on and win the game. When you look at the man for man, they’re the they’re better as a team. They’re better. Their squad’s better, and they’ve started the season better than Norwich. Well, they knew. They certainly hoped it wouldn’t, but this moment was bound to come around sometime. And the journey, not such a long one, but it will feel eternal. The spell is broken. After the 16-year wait, 6,013 days, in which time they have beaten 78 other teams, they have now finally won the victory that means more than any other. Jack Clark with his first touch as a substitute, sealing it. Marcelino Nunes becoming only the ninth player to represent both clubs in this fixture. Certainly playing an important role in his cameo off the bench. But the headlines stolen by Jadden Philine’s rocket. Kvachovic’s goalkeeping today will not be highly regarded having gifted them a corner from which they scored the first goal. And he will certainly I imagine be feeling he could have done more with Philene’s effort. But the day has finally arrived. Jim Majilton, a Northern Irishman, the last Dipswich manager to mastermind victory over the deadly foe. And it has taken another Olsterman to break the curse. The final score at Portman Road. It’s Witchtown 3, Norwich City 1.

  1. This was a fantastic victory by Ipswich Town in their bragging rights by beating their arch rivals Norwich City at home on a crucial way in the East Anglian derby to end their winless run against team for the past sixteen years, good friends!!!All the respective goals were fantastic and congratulations to both the respective teams for producing an exciting derby, good friends!!!The only sad thing for me is that I could not watch live stream as I could only pay for a provided audio live stream, good friends!!!🙏

  2. 16 years is a long time to wait for that moment, they deserved it, tough one to take but we knew it was coming with how poor we’ve been. Hat tipped to philogene, that was some strike!

  3. Norwich has potential, but there's definitely something wrong mentally at the moment, be it belief, confidence, determination, or something similar.

  4. We were poor. They made mistakes for our goals. Why o why do we persist in playing out from the back? We are not good at it and today we gifted them several goal chances which luckily they didnt take

  5. Regressive team 'managed' by Manning. Poor collective recruitment – bought players for future profit making, rather than collective performance. Both will be sacked shortly, not the answer, as it's going to take many more years of pain! Poor Sargent made the wrong decision, but, we all had high expectations from the signings made, didn't we? Good football teams (players) work together to get results, mostly without a manager's input… you ask Roy Keane that! As for yourself, another poor performance sadly, a regressive one at that, making the same mistakes: 11 touches! SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE… WE ARE ALL GUILTY OF BEING 'LEOPARDS'! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔰🔰🔰🔰🔰🔰🔰🔰

  6. 2nd best day in my last 16 years 1st being my daughter being born uppa town coyb🐎🚜⚽️🔵⚪️

Good luck to norwich for the season want us in the same league every season there's nothing like a Derby day 👏🏻

  7. Philogene just did the whole action subconsciously with his outrageous talent, then when he came to he realised he'd scored a wondergoal. Its a pleasure to watch such talent unleash perfection. What a blue he is
