A 38 mile bike ride on the Triban gravel bike. The ride goes through Longridge, Inglewhite, Garstang, Cockerham, Glasson Dock, Lancaster and Morecambe
I visit the Quayside cafe in Glasson Dock, the Millennium Bridge in Lancaster and the Eric Morecambe statue in Morecambe and the Royal Arms pub in Heysham. A fabulous ride on a glorious hot, sunny day.
Along the way I bump into Garstang Cycling Club and come across a couple of groups from Clitheroe Cycling Club.
Equipment used:
GoPro 10
Triban Gravel bike with Shimano 105 groupset
Carnac cycle helmet
Funkier jersey
Trespass sunglasses
Morning. Welcome back once again. Thank you for subscribing. It’s nice to get more people jumping on the channel. Today I’ve got about 4 hours to do a 2hour bike ride. It’s not bad that is it. So from Preston to Morham, but I’m going to go on a fairly winding route. Not all on the road. It’s a stinky hot day again. So, I think what I’ll also do is let me have a couple of stop offs. Come along for the ride. Should be nice. [Music] It’s a Saturday morning in July. It’s already about 22 degrees at quart 10. And I’ll take in one of the the quieter ways from Preston out into the sticks via Brabing a Lane. I’ve skirted around Longritown Center today up half Penny Lane. I’ll get to the end of here, turn left and head out towards Engle. [Music] I’ll watch this back in December when I’m on Zift and it’s cold, dark, and horrible. [Music] Lydia Lane. We’ll cross under the M6, which is that there. We’ll get onto the west side of it. And on the west side of it is where we’ll stay now. So heading to Gast and from there out to Glassend dock. [Music] Mr. You can sing on the bike. I know you can’t seen it. I love him. There are hillier ways to get to where I’m going. I’ll leave a a link to one of those on the end screen. See you later. Have a good one. See you there. Thank you. Bye. I think you w up on the A6 and not gone that right along the A6 and then turned into Have a good one. You Nice to catch up with the club. That’s Pip’s 80th birthday ride. They’re going to Pilling, but I’m going that way to Glen Dock. [Music] This is Cockarum. It’s nice around here. [Music] I can’t quite get my head around how I’ve not been here before on my bike. [Applause] We went down to Well, that was good. Sausage sandwich, iced latte, and a key lime pie. Keyside Cafe in Glass and Dock. It’s a good one. That’s Hian Power Station there. And that’s where I’m going. I’m going to go that way around. Get in there. There’s extra different out there. Good. Right, we’re off road for a bit now. 5 miles on this path to Lancaster. Well, that was glass and dark. It’s nice around here. This cycle path runs from Glassendock to Lancaster. I think it’s now part of the Bay Cycle way. It’s nice under here. Plenty of shade. [Music] I mean, obviously I’m biased, but I can’t think of many nicer ways to get around on a lovely sunny day. [Music] Coming up to Lancaster Keyside now. 20 1. It’s getting quite warm. Well, roasting hot. It’s nice while you’re moving. Stinky out when you stop. Lot of new houses. It’s nice around here. That’s 30 miles done. Not far between Lancaster and Morham, but lots of nice cycle pass. So, we’ll go and use some cycle pass and get some more miles. [Music] There is a foot path on that bridge behind me, but a few years ago, about 25, they built the Millennium Bridge, which is a bit nicer. So, we’ll go over that. Can’t quite see it yet. It’ll come into view in a minute. And hello, Cleo Cycling Club. [Music] I’m sorry. The end of the line. Morham. We’ve landed in Morham. It’s a bit special out here. So, I’m going to enjoy this. More Bay [Music] That’s for the MCT lads. There’s one or two that watch. Morham clock tower. Oh, I want one of them. Here he is. Still playing all the right notes. [Music] Well, unfortunately, it’s time to bring this one to an end. So, if you haven’t already, hit subscribe and jump on board. If you’ve enjoyed this one, hit like. I’ll see you on the next one. Bye-bye. [Music] Cheers. [Music]

A Grand day out on the bike 🚴 I haven't been to Morecombe in over 20 years…..and if I want to do it by bike, its a 118 mile round trip.
Cheers, mate. I needed some ideas for new routes. I think I'll try this one very soon. Much appreciated.
Was the key lime pie good?
I’m a Lancaster lad married to a Morecambe lass and now retired in Somerset. Your video brought a tear of nostalgia. We get back there occasionally to visit my 101 year old dad in Lancaster. Coincidentally on the Preston Front, I did my HNC at Harris College and later worked for a short time at Goss’s on Greenbank Street, but I guess that was way before your time.
Looks like you had a beautiful day for it 😊
