Good morning. It is day number six, the last day of our bike packing trip. Yesterday, we had to cut the ride short because of absolute diabolical weather. So, we’re still in Germany. We’re in Freeberg. Today, we’ll make it to Prague. 170 mi to go. Quite hilly. 6:30 in the morning. Let’s do this and hope it doesn’t rain. Kylie, you okay? We got this. Tidness levels are up, but we’re going to try and stay positive. We are off and we’re feeling good. Yoohoo, cows. First time ever in check today. And even though we cut the miles short yesterday, overall we’ll still be doing the exact same miles we had planned because we’re not getting on a train. So just a longer day today. That’s fine. Oh, look at the little cough. Kyle, is he little baby? Gen to Hey, Kyle. Yeah. Never mind Zenna. We’ll be on Zimmer frames by the end of this. No, you won’t. Right, we’re getting closer to check. We’ve got the biggest climb of the day and actually the biggest climb of the trip coming up. 679 ft, 3.4 miles long. So, not not too bad average gradient, but enough enough for us today. Good morning, ladies. We’ve made it to the top. Not all the climbing done for today, though. The first bit of the route is the hilliest bit, but we prefer that. Get all the hills out the way for the first bit. It’s a bit misty. I like the pine trees, Kyle. Kyle, a pine cone. I love seeing that. We’re on a little cycle path and we’re literally going along the border. Czech is literally just through there. So, we’re getting closer. Check Republica. We’re in check. Oh, it’s a bit chilly in Czech. We quite high up there though. We’re 2,800 ft up. So, few more little climbs, then we’ve got a nice big descent and should be a bit warmer when we drop down. 35 miles in and we’ve got a puncture. Kyle’s weird again. We’re being positive, aren’t we? It’s just annoying. It’s this road, though. It’s not a surface. Yes, my bike is like that on the floor. It’s the only option right now. But it’s leading your bags. Don’t worry. Frame isn’t on the floor any just wish. Yeah. It’s all right, though. We’re going to stay positive today. 8 to 2 miles to go. It’s not that much. We’re doing okay. Do you want me to help you? What do you want me to do? You just stand there. Yeah. But what you want me to do? You’ve done it already. What? Yeah. That was so much quicker than yesterday. Hold on. Got a biscuit. Got one of my biscuits. I’ll chew you up. I’m still having really bad trouble on me. I know cuz you got so cold yesterday. No, just that that first part of the 6 300k that we did. Yeah. And I’ve obviously done nerve damage. Look, I can’t move my hands properly since then. I’ll check the tire for a for a thorn. Nothing’s going to get me down. and Czech Republic. It’s nearly fixed. I got the I pulled out the thorn and Kyle put it back on. I use my little nails to pull it out. But we normally do have tweezers with us that needs to go on the kit list around the world. I don’t know why. Always forget things. We’re not very good, are we? But you know, we’ve done it brute force. So, no, it’s not usually an issue, but I’ve got really bad Yeah, your hands don’t. I feel sorry for our shoes right now. Lakes hitting me up with a shoe cleaner. At least it’s not too cold up here, though. Actually, it’s cold and moving. I think I’m warmer still here. I’m actually warmer. Yeah, I was yesterday. Oh god, I’m never changing a bunch yesterday. Yeah, changing the bunch yesterday. It was colder yesterday, definitely. So, we’re still here because basically the pump just broke. I had to hold the pump onto the valve while Kyle was pumping it, but it was just letting air out and out and out. So, we’re like, “What are we going to do?” Cuz we’re in the middle of nowhere. Started googling bike shops. There’s one like 15 miles away, so I’d have to ride there, get a pump, and ride back or something. Then Kyle took a spring out the pump and now it’s working again. So, he’s just pumping it up. Hopefully, we’ll get going soon. It’s on now. What What PS are you on? 70. That’s all right. You can I think see the t. Okay, we’ll get there eventually. We’re rolling again. Getting to the highest point of the day now. We’re 2,800 and 55 ft up. Got a big descent coming and it’s looking up. Punch is fixed. Nothing’s going to get us down today. Feeling good. Positive mood. O can be bottom. Yeah. Jacket on. Descent time. Well, seeing as we’re at the highest point of the whole route, it’s time for the one and only Top of the Hill dance. Hey, 12% going down here. Wow, look at that. Woohoo. Yippee! Woohoo! You can tell we’re in a different country now. It just feels different. All the houses are different. Look at that yellow one. Very colorful. It’s cool. I like it. Kyle’s been Well, last night we were reading some facts about Czech and we’ll share some of them with you soon. Right. Hit us with fact number one then, Kyle. Fact number one is we’ve just been talking about beer. Yeah. Czech people average consumption of beer per year. Yeah. Is an average of almost one pint per day. Really? That’s how much you drink. I can’t remember it in liters, but I’m pretty much averages one pipe per day. We’re in the land of the per person. Jeez. So, that’s like a lot of Where we go? [Applause] Another cyclist. Hello, mate. Really nice. Yeah, nice colorful houses. Very cool. I like it. I like it. Yeah. I’ve warmed up about to layer. Got a 700 ft climb now. Biggest climb of the day. And we got the cows. Yoohoo, ladies. Right, we’ve got 45 miles to go. And we’ve just come across a little shop. So, we’re going to go in and see what they have. See what the shops are like here. And check. Kyle’s waiting over there with the bikes while I go in. Oh, bike friendly. Hello. Hello. Oh, jeez. Great. Oh, yeah. Snacks. That’s nice for Kyle. These teddy bears. thing is I have no clue how much that is because it’s in check money and I know that check money like is you know you could 10,000 is like10 or something so I don’t know I don’t know to be honest what I’m what I’m doing right I’m going to have to turn the camera off and decide what I want it was absolutely cringy absolute whirlwind with I didn’t speak a word of English I tried to ask them how to say thank you but they just went nay and didn’t understand anyway thought this will fill us up so what you asked for Coca-Cola Greta that’s your new limbering up. Now they had some traditional check stuff I think. So I thought let’s go for it. Bread cob each bit of carbs. These also could be snacks for later if you want. These are traditional in checks. I remember these from when Ruby gave us some last time. The waffers. We’ve got hazelnut waffer. We’ve got a chocolate waffer. We’ve got wackle gyers for you. sweets. We got a another chocolate waffle. I think got that back soon. I didn’t realize I got two of three. One for tonight. Then these are traditional. So half and half each. Don’t have a clue what they are, but traditional check goods. So don’t know what they are, but they look good. Crack on. And one thing I will tell you is that cost 171,000 checks, check money, which I’ll tell you how much that is cuz it’ll give me an email. Use my currency card. I have no clue how much that was. 175,000. What’s your guess? What’s your guess? Uh, no. Uh, 15 quid. Is it Friday today? 12:50. Guess how much. Today. Oh, yeah. Right. Guess how much order that was. Seriously. 15 quid. 620. No. Yeah. your your transactions today. 1250 171,000 check 6120. She wasn’t come here again. It’s like Rio just says like it sitto Libby. That’s where we were. That was a great little stop. I’m glad we did that. Sometimes when you’re riding, even though you think, “Oh, I just want to keep going. I just want to get there.” It’s more productive to stop and refuel because then you feel better on the bike and you’re moving faster. just started to feel a little bit like, oh, snacks are running low, energyy’s running low. Let’s stop and now feel energized again. So, just got to make sure you do that. Then you just you’re more productive. You pay like £4 for that bag of haribs in England. Yeah. That was great. Kyle’s got another fact for us. The other one that I saw last night was Yeah. Prague used to be four or five different places like New Town, Old Town. Don’t know the names of it, but that boyed. I think it was in the late 90s. Yeah. 1900s. I might be wrong. Oh, it used to be four different countries. Oh, four different places. Oh, hell no. There’s only 500 ft. We got to get and turn right. That’s the road. It’s open there. I can’t walk across the grass. That’s what I’m thinking because there’s no I’m just looking on Google Maps now. There’s no roads around here. Yeah, there’s literally [Music] there’s nothing around here, Kyle. There’s only that main motorway there. It’s 300 ft. Turn right cuz we just want to go right there, don’t we? We could see if we could walk down the side cuz it’s open there. It’ll be open there, won’t it? Back we go. Right, we found a way. We’ve got to go back on ourselves, turn right, go right round and join our route further on. So, adding a few miles on, but nothing’s getting us down today. It’s not raining, so we’re just grateful for that. And there is a way around. It’s just a bit There’s not a lot of roads around here. So, yeah. But we got this. We can do it. So, we got back onto our route. All good. Oh, we’ve only added on two miles. Come around. There’s another road closure. And it’s just really hard to route round because it’s just we’re going to have to just go left all the way down here. It’s going to add more miles on again. Now we can Yeah, we can go this way to Slaney. Okay. This way, Kyle. Up there. No, I’ve looked. I’ve checked. It’s all right. Go that way. Well, no choice. It’s the only way. But two or three miles. It’s the Kyle. Honestly, I’ve just checked. It’s the only road. Why don’t you trust me? I just did this one. Only added a mile on. And I’m telling you now, this one’s adding a mile up. It’s the only road. Come on. Let’s just go cuz the more we stand here, the later it’s getting. I’m getting grumpy. Right, we’re at decision point. We either go straight and try and join our route or we go left and try and join our route. Straight looks the more direct, but we could risk the road being close where that big road is. That’s a longer way, but we still have to get over that road anyway. So, I think we just keep going straight. Yeah. Yeah. If if it’s closed, I have to come back in this way. One of these things. Yeah, you’re thirsty. Right, let’s go. Bit more climbing to go, but not too far now. Kyle’s having his waffer. His check waffer. I’ve had man. They’re really nice and they’re so easy to eat on the bike because they’re just so soft. So, they’re great. Do you like it, Kyle? Yummy. I love a waffle. I love a good waffer. It’s a wafer really, but we like to see waffer cuz we’re silly. Holy pine cones going up little burner. I can feel it. Oh, look at that. Less than 20 miles to go and less than 1,000 ft left to climb. We’re going to make it another road closure, but they let us through. They said, “You go, you go.” Thank God because if we had to do another diversion, I just couldn’t cope today because that would have been a long one back round. So, we’re only 10 mi away now. We’re nearly there. I just saw the lries and I thought, “Oh, please no, another one.” But they were really friendly and they said, “Yep, go through.” So, it’s all right. It’s just like this and dangerous. Oh, Kyle. Honestly, when I saw that road closure, I thought, “Please, God, no.” I thought, seriously, I thought, “I’m going to walk on the grass. I’ll walk on there at this point. I’ll cycle across that field.” Kyle’s not a happy bunny at the minute. His knee’s hurting and his D2’s died, so he’s in the easiest gear. That’s all he can do. Legs spinning fast, but we’re nearly there, so it’s okay. [Applause] [Music] Wow, look at that. Kyle Castle Hey, nice. We made it. Look at this. It’s amazing. That bridge over that looks cool. Lots of spice. I’ve never seen the bike so dirty in my life. It’s awful. All right, though. Okay. His knee’s in pain. He’s got pain in his knee. But we made it. Now we got to find our accommodation. Yeah. Yeah. Loads of spires, isn’t there? Over 2,000 spires. There are here apparently. We Googled that last night. Little fact for you. It’s great. ducks down there. CL bit overwhelming. Kyle, we made it to the results. That’s so nice. A

Very good videos about your adventures. I sometimes have the impression that you two are exerting yourselves too much and take not enough time to enjoy the land and people The wind and weather were very bad for you two. As a kid we always went to school by bike even in very bad weather. It is important to cooperate against the wind with close behind each other riding with regular rotation of first and second place.. Of course it is a practice run for your record attempt, but still. I advise you to see some You tube videos of Wheels to wander (a dutch couple globetrotters, with good advise about clothing and gears. They were often camping in the wild. Another good video is One year on a Bike, also by a dutch man. You see the harsh environments they have to cross.. Also some older videos of Mark Beaumont who cycled the world in a record time are very informative. Good Luck and have a good time!

Hope Kyle will feel better soon!
What happened to that tire glider you raved about?
At some point they changed it to Czechia. Passed through the country top to bottom during the TCR in 2022 it was beautiful! Got chased uphill by a wild boar… not fun!
Enjoyed watching all your videos! I hope Kyle feels better soon. Congrats on your first practice trip!
Congratulations you made it! 😁 Despite the utterly disgusting weather conditions too.
Is Kyle really that miserable ????????
I've always wanted to visit Praha! What a great trip!
I was beginning to think with the road closures, you was in GROUNDHOG DAY 😢😢😢😢😢
I can highly recommend following the Elbe river valley from Dresden into Czechia. That's one of my favourite bits of Europe to hike (Saxon Switzerland National Park, yes it's not in Switzerland). Not sure if that valley road is particularly safe/unsafe to bike on, you'd have to have a look on streetview.
Hahaha, I am pretty sure it was just 171 Czech krona, not 171 thousand. Next time do not buy Coca Cola in Czech, buy Kofola 😉
You have buttocks and seat bones of steel 💪😎😄
If only I had half of your stamina!
You are both of you awesome.
Get well AFAP Kyle.
Been to Prague several times. Love the city.
Well done on the ride!
I think a one of the little electric bike pumps will help on the around the world trip.
Great series of videos. I keep on thinking Kyle rides a bike across Europe and will be back laying bricks in a day or two💪💪💪
Why on earth would you not have a pump on each bike?
Epic! You pushed hard and suffered, but I'm sure you learned a lot, which was I think the whole point.
Yeah.Uk is crazy expensive, most expensive in Europe since left EU 🙁
At some point you'll get used to kilonies instead of milonies if you go around the world 🙂
171,00 = 171.00🤣
Well done Amy and Kyle, that was an epic week with epic miles to match! Thanks for sharing the highs and lows and enjoy Prague! Cheers
Great effort, have you considered using tubeless tyres? my husband and I are in our 60’s and 70’s. Mending a puncture on the side of the road is now beyond us due to problems with our hands. Tubeless tyres have enabled us to continue to follow our passion , being out on our bikes 🙂 😊
10:49 The late nineties and late nineteen hundreds are a few yrs apart 😂😂
Can't think of a more miserable way to ride a very expensive light and aero bike….. than riding it with a ton of stuff hanging from the sides and back. Ugh! Way to go Kyle! Great effort but you did not seem thrilled to be there.
Congrats from Amy RTW committee , it has been decided that a puncture a day is way above average. the committee will remain convened until a solution is found.
What an epic ride! Congratulations. And I’ll tell you what, I felt physical relief when the video when from cobbles to tarmac near the end there. LOL
One word, TUBELESS. Not one competitor in the 2025 TDF run on tubes. All used tubeless
Ever thought about sacrificing the lighter tyres for something like the Continental Contact plus or similar? They’re a bit heavier but I rarely (touch wood!) puncture. I Also carry a rechargeable epump which has helped others, but luckily not me … yet 🫣
Great trip and cracking effort 👍. Re punctures, I’d go tubeless and take a spare pump!. I’ve not had a puncture in the four years I’ve been tubeless. However, I always cary a tube and repair kit as well as TyreKey tyre lever. Brilliant, quick and painless tool to remove and replace tyres particularly when you’re tired. I’d also look at Redshift stems to help take the vibration out of your hands as well as wider (32-34mm) tyres.
amazing that you two finished such an ambitious project despite the downpours. The view from that bridge at the end was awe inspiring.
Hi Amy and Kyle, I think Kyle is as well as he could be, considering its early in the morning, and has too cycle so many kms. And now to top it all off another puncher to fix. Can recommend an electric pump they are great. Hopefully you can have a lie in soon. Amy your dance is still good. Well done on reaching your destination. No problem you two cycling round the world. Think how fast you will ride with out the extra weight you are carrying at the moment. Take care on the roads, all the best Tim ❤.
TPU tubes with a few ml of sealant for all the benefits of both. So much smaller, lighter and easier to pack. Cleaner roadside repair. No worrrying about having to seat the bead on the rim when re-inflating. Win!
tell it like it is! brilliant! rain or shine, the REAL cycling life!
If you come this way next year, consider biking to Dresden and on to Decin. Then you’ll be on a nice long flat river path all the way to Prague.
Kyle is going to need to get his head into the game. Riding around the world is tougher than cold hands and reroutes
My heroes
This trial trip was a great way to eliminate all the things that didn't work properly for you and Kyle.
I would sit down and search past rainfall recordings for as much of the World trip as possible, get month by month past rainfall info for the areas you will be riding and attempt to string together the ones with the lowest amount of rain, as we know how miserable riding in the rain can be.
