Bournemouth, England’s coastal garden and one of the UK’s most popular holiday spots. But what makes the perfect seaside town? Chilled spots, extreme sports or great places to eat. Take a walk with me and we’ll discover its silky soft shores, iconic landmarks, tranquil gardens, and so much more. Is Bournemouth just a holiday favorite or the blueprint for the perfect seaside escape? Let’s find out. Hi guys. We’ve picked an absolutely stunning day to take a walk around Bournemouth today. I’ve wanted to come here for years and I’m excited to finally be here. The place has it all. It’s got an absolutely gorgeous beach, iconic pier, beautiful gardens to avoid the craziness on busy days like this, which you’ll see soon. The UK’s second largest chippy, and a ton of other really cool things to see and do. So, let’s start our walk, and I’ll show you around. Guys, look at this sand. It’s absolutely incredible. It’s soft. It’s fine. It’s absolutely stunning. And the water quality here actually holds a blue flag status, which is held, I believe, consecutively since 1996. So, even though the governments are dumping well, polluting the waters, at least in Bournemouth, you know, you can come and swim safely. And just up there, I believe, is Alam Chai. That’s a local beach. It’s much more popular with the locals. And further along, as I said earlier, that’s pool and sandbanks down there as well. That’s where all the millionaires live. Also down there is a cracking up. It’s a harvester. It’s called the dirty chine if you don’t want to pay the tourist prices because they are super expensive here in Bournemouth. Uh a harvester. It’s just you’ll pay a chain price, one set price, and it’s really cheap. Now, walking around here, I really am getting like a Mediterranean like beefer kind of vibe with all the beach bars and the the music and the heat. Honestly, you could feel like you’re in a med today. It’s gorgeous. It’s like 26°. One thing you’ll notice here as well is every few steps you can buy an ice cream, cocktail, pizzas, burgers, everything you can possibly want. It’s such a vibe. You got amusements here on the left hand side. Now, there’s not actually a lot of amusement arcades here in Bournemouth compared to a lot of places. At least from what I’ve seen anyway so far. Look at that guy over there above the pier paragliding. That’s amazing. I can’t get over how busy this place is. It’s mad. [Music] [Music] So, as I was saying, there’s lots of place to grab a bite to eat. One place you need to avoid if you’re going to eat anywhere is this place, the salt and lemon takeaway on our left. On Google, it’s got only two stars with 26 reviews. Everyone’s saying the same thing. Food’s expensive. It’s cold and it’s really not worth it at all. And literally next door on West Beach, this place is really highly rated. It’s got 4.8 stars on Google. Uh, you’ll pay a premium for this place, but apparently it’s really worth it. You can buy champagne, oysters, seafood platters here, apparel spritz. It’s quite a vibe. And then you’ve got this place here. Sell cocktails, pizzas, drinks. It’s actually a beach club. It’s called W Beach. DJs every Saturday and Sunday. All these people out enjoying it, getting a bit of shade away from the sun while enjoying the time. The Oceanarium here on our left is one of the most popular attractions here in Bournemouth. It’s supposed to be an amazing day out. They have all the usual sea life and they have cute little penguins here where certain times a day you can actually watch their feeding sessions as well. We’re just approaching the pier now. So, the Bournemouth Pier opened in 1880 and it’s had a few facelifts over the years due to storms and wartime damage. These days, it’s home to an arcade, the Pier Zip, which is apparently the only pier to beat zipline in the world. It has spectacular views over the water if you’re feeling brave enough to ride it. If you’ve been on it, let me know in the comments. I’d love to know if it scared you or not. Now, it’s usually chargeable to come onto the pier, but I was reading that this year the company that runs the pier has actually partnered with the council, so entrance is actually free during 2025, and I believe they’re trying to run it, so it’s free indefinitely. Let’s go take a look. A fun fact for you is during World War II, they actually blew this pier’s midsection up. They’re really worried that the Nazis were going to come and invade and use the pier to launch an invasion on our coasts. It was quickly rebuilt after the war ended. Even in the winter, there these shelters down the middle of the pier, so you can walk down and protect yourself from the rain. Now, I was reading there used to be a theater here, but it closed in 2014, and it’s now an indoor climbing center called Rock Reef. It’s actually insane how much there is to do in Bournemouth. Zip lines, rock climbing, places to eat, cocktails, an aquarium. I couldn’t find any holiday parks in Bournemouth when I looked online. It seems the nearest wandering pool, but there’s a ton of hotels, including some larger chains like the Marriott, uh, Hilton, the Travel Lodge, and prices start at about £50 for a one night stay. And that’s me looking recently in June. Obviously price will change the closer you get to the summer. If you’re enjoying this video, please consider giving it a like. And if you want to see more seafront tours and UK holiday parks, then why not subscribe? It’s free and it really helps me grow the channel and bring you more and more content. Guys, I’d appreciate it. Thank you. Look at how clear the water is from here. You get you get a great vantage point of Bournemouth Beach as well. You can see Sand Banks over there in the distance. Much better vantage point. [Music] Here’s the Rock Reef. So, it says they got a peer zip, a high line, peer cave, cliff and climb, vertical slide, a leap of faith. That is perfect for you adrenaline junkies. Now I just want to take you over here to the left hand side to the Key West Bar and Grill because it’s apparently the highest rated place you can eat in Bournemouth or at least on the seafront from what I found. They say they got the best views in Bournemouth as well. You can get coffees, cakes, cocktails, afternoon tea, breakfast. You can even a private hire for a wedding as well. [Applause] On the left hand side you can see the aisle of white. Hopefully you can see that on the camera. Anyway, and you can also see over to Boscom and Boscom Pier as well. So here’s a bit of Bournemouth’s pier history. So it says 1856. The first seaside peers were built in the 1810s. As people discover the joy of visiting the seaside, pier soon became major landmarks for these developing resorts, allowing visitors arriving by seat in Simbark and those visiting by land to enjoy a seagoing experience. In 1856, a 100 ft wooden jetty was completed on Bournemouth Beach. In 1861, this was replaced by a larger wooden structure extending a length of 1,000 ft. So you can see the actual zip line that goes that connects the pier to the beach. I bet that’s an amazing experience. You get the most amazing views over the water from here. It’s absolutely stunning. And just over there is Hangby Head. It’s a no new spot. So if you’re that way inclined, you’ve got somewhere to hang out to. I can’t believe how busy it is for a midweek looking it. It’s mental. Believe it or not, Bournemouth actually has its own microclimate because it’s sheltered between the Isa White and the Perfect Hills. So, it tends to be warmer here all year round and it gets about 7.7 hours of daily sun, more than anywhere else in the UK. [Applause] That’s it. [Music] How clear the water is. This is Hot Rocks in front of us. It’s a cracking restaurant here in Bournemouth. right in the epicenter. It sells Cajun food, curries, all sorts of things. It’s Hawaiian themed surfer kind of bar. They also do cocktails in here as well. So, you can just imagine sitting on this terrace enjoying a cocktail, a woodfired pizza, and enjoying the sea views. It’s amazing. So, here on pier approach, right before the pier entrance as well, is a beach shop. So, you get all your seaside knicknacks here. your bookies and spades, inflatables, some Crocs, sandals if you forgot them, and some little Bournemouth merch as well. Oh, and your suntan lotion. You’ll definitely need that today. This is Hay Random was in front of us. And as I was saying, it’s one of the biggest fish and chip shops in the UK. It seats over 400 people and there’s some seating upstairs with incredible views over the bay. I mean, from this angle, you really do get a sense of the size of it. The perspective is massive. Did you know Bournemouth was the first in the UK to have a purpose-built beach hut? This beach hut was the first one built in 1909. It’s considered a historical landmark in the UK and a blue plaque marks that fact. It’s mad to think that this beach hut is the one that started the craze for beach huts in the UK. That’s pretty cool. I love beach huts. They’re so synonymous with the UK seaside and that’s the very first one. Incredible. We’re going to head over to the lower gardens now, which is just down here under this approach. One thing I noticed as well is uh as I walked around is there’s a lot of open top buses and they go all the way up to Jurgor and Lworth Cove. You want some peace and quiet from the crowds when Bournemouth rammed. You can head in land from from the pier to to renown lower gardens. It’s a floor haven for the riverborn which fun fact is where Bournemouth actually gets its name from. You can just imagine sitting here with a nice picnic enjoying the peace and quiet and watching the world go by. It’s really tranquil. These great touristic gardens boast vibrant floor displays, a classic mini golf course, a band stand hosting regular concerts and even at a there’s also seasonal events held here like the Christmas tree wonderland which transforms a garden into a festive wonderland. So the pavilion theater and ballroom is a concert hall in Bournemouth. It opened in 1929 has been re redesigned several times since. It’s a grade two listed art deco building which holds western quality shows and Christmas pantos as well. This guys is the Cooper Thompson Rescue Avery. It’s a small but cute sanctuary for rescue birds from all over the world. There’s many different exotic species here. Look at them all living harmoniously together. They’re absolutely beautiful. For our last stop, I have someone very famous and influential to show you. I’ll see you over there. [Music] Just a short drive away from the bomb of Seafront is the grave of Mary Shel, the mother of horror literature. She was a creator of the iconic horror story Frankenstein. She published it in 1818 and is considered one of the most important and influential pieces of horror literature. If you’re a horror fan, you can pop by and pay your respects. Mary’s only son, Percy, had originally intended to build Bos Mana as a retirement home for his mom, but she sadly died before it was finished. She was originally buried in London, but her only son, Percy, had her exumed and moved to be buried closer to his home here in Bournemouth. After you’ve been to pay your respects to Mary, you can pop around the corner to the spoons named in her honor and have a good beer or wine. Bournemouth really has been an absolute joy to discover and I hope you’ve enjoyed discovering it with me and you can discover more wonderful places with me just here. Take care. [Music]

  1. The beach is nice, but the town hanging off of it is rotting. I was in Bournemouth all the time as a teenager 15-20 years ago but today it is a sad place to be. The high street is a wasteland

  2. Great vlog. Bournemouth vlogger here. If anyone watching this is inspired to visit our awesome town, please don’t leave your rubbish on the beach – it’s a huge problem here & the tourists seem to think its ok to do it!
That aside – thanks for showing Bournemouth in this fantastic video.

  3. I go to Bournemouth every year at the start of July and love it.
Yes, the town centre is getting a bit run down but I think that can be said of most towns and cities these days but the beaches and sea are second to none.
At weekends it does get very busy around the pier areas but walk up towards Boscombe and you’ll find plenty of beach space.
Only thing I’d disagree on is The Harvester which on my recent visit I found to have gone really downhill.
Something you didn’t mention is that the Pavillion theatre next to the beautiful gardens puts on some pretty decent shows.

  4. Thank you for a great vlog so good to see my home town though a visitor's eyes , yes Bournemouth is beautiful and I love living here . There really is so much to do here and in the surrounding area .

  5. Lived in Bournemouth
for more than a decade, best then I have ever lived in. The council really look after the town and beach and take good care of it. During spring and summer, about 4am every morning , a tractor will plough the beach and remove most of the rubbish that the tourists leave behind, followed up by litter pickers to remove the rest. Back in the day you could fish off Bournemouth pier as it had 2 levels but I think the lower level got condemned and due to the commercialisation and the zip line fishing g is now banned (how ever you can fish off boscome down the beach)

Bournemouth gardens are absolutely beautiful and throughout the year alot of events take place . They are all free and incredible. (Tip . . . If you take a packet of monkey nuts and sit on the bench towards the bottom of the park (brach side() you'll. Ake friends with the local squirrels and they will happily sit on your lap whilst mumchi g away….

Thanks so much for this video . . It brings back so many memories.ories…

2 weeks prior to this post I actually hitched a tent on the beach and was fishing 24/7 of boscome pier… catch and cook

I love Bournemouth, and whoever sees this video will so too. ❤

  6. I watched BH over many years.living not far away… a want to be posh place now with beach bars ..with lots of rubbish everywhere,no natural style only some nice buildings…and now immigrants in hotels scratching more on the illusion of a grand town…I love the Russel Cotes Museum, that's a sanctuary…and the gardens in spring or autumn

  7. I have lived in Bournemouth all my life. Believe me, it is just a ghost of what the town used to be. All the large department stores gone. WHSmith in the town square gone. Lots of shops boarded up – never recovered from the Covid epidemic. People have been murdered in the town centre and on the beach. Drug addicts and beggars to be found everywhere. Still beautiful landmarks and scenery. The town's commercial Infrastructure (shops, etc), however, has gone downhill drastically since its heydays in the 1990s. I want to leave as soon as I can.

  8. Used to go to Bournemouth every year once or twice for short breaks but very disappointed the last couple times the place is a dump now and the last couple visits full of migrants hanging around outside bars in the parks won’t be going back anytime soon the local council needs to wake up as the government are ruining what was a lovely town

  9. Bournemouth is the migrant rape capitol of england 200 convictions between just 3 migrant hotels don't come to Bournemouth if you have any respect or love for your women and children

  10. Bournemouth was amazing 50 yrs ago. Bond Street of the South Coast. Incredible large scale clubs. Clean beaches and sophisticated euro/latam nightlife with the language students. None of that now. Failed council. Dirty beaches as todays day trippers discard trash in huge volume. All the shops have closed down. Hotels full of refugees. Town Centre full of drug addicts and beggars. Stabbing and rapes the norm. A once beautiful town ruined by the council and failed/misguided policy of successive governments from about 2000.

  11. Nice tour of the beach, but where's the 'Full Tour'? Boscombe, Winton, Kinson, Southbourne, Charminster …
Y'know – Bournemouth. Why do videos only ever show the beach and gardens?
