Day 225. 32km (91487kms 8yrs)
After a hungover rest day Harry and Rita saw us off with a cooked breakfast and big hugs. What a superb stay we’d had.
Following Harry’s directions we were able to take a nicer route into Pécs, (which thanks to Rita we now knew is pronounced more like Peach than Pecks).
Separated once more in the final few kilometres we never actually completed our ride together, together. Olivier held back when he noticed I was no longer behind him, while I’d continued on along a slightly different navigation into the town.
Reunited, we checked into a hostel and took a walk around the lovely town for a couple of hours before returning with beers and canned goulash for our last dinner as team.
The following day I waved Olivier off and had another – gloomier – wander about town before returning to the hostel with beer for one.

[Music] Look, I’ve got eggs with bacon and cheese. Yes. I’ll give you my report on the mirror from peach maybe maximum two days. Thank you. What’s thank you in in Dutch or Hungarian better? Oh, Kushim and in Dutch nice. Bye bye. Look at the mirror. Look at the witch. So nice. What an amazing stay with Harry and Rita and their son, Yella. They had a fantastic time. Um, incredibly kind. Um, lovely to have a shower and clean laundry as well. Um, we’re off to we’ve learned it’s called Peach, not Pex. Um, for a couple of nights. So, this is our last day cycling together. Uh, I’m going north to see my mom and Olivia is going west to Slovenia. See it? See you. Let’s go. CCTV and the flags. Got a fantastic tailwind for this. 30 or so kilometers west into Peach. got separated again. So, it seems we’ve prematurely finished our bike trip together. You have to have a code to get in the hostel. You can’t just rock up to hostels anymore. You have to pre-book. How annoying. See youa, which means hello. which means a lot in Hungary. Yeah, maybe goodbye too. So, see you in the next one. Bye-bye. Bye. Bye. Ride safe. On my own again. How strange. But only for a few days. And then my mom is flying into Budapest. Meanwhile, I’ve got the lovely town of Peach to explore. This mosque really is wedged into the city. You have to pay for everything in this town. The mosques, the church. Guess I’ll be enjoying the city from the outside. Awesome. Thank you Jesus. Heat. Heat. No, no, no, no, no. The supermarket is closed on a Saturday afternoon. What? And tomorrow? Oh, no. Yeah. Open bottle shop. I won’t go thirsty. At least I even found a bakery open so I’m not going completely hungry. Uh, beer for one. Cheers.

نعليا رايفت عليك 😢😢
Pecs (payche) is lovely. Nice to see very familiar surroundings and food. You’re not too far now from us..I think about 70 km north from there, a place called Kaposvar..my wife has previously cycled that bit from pecs to kaposvar (about 3 hour cycle)
Good luck 👍
Always amazed that sand and dreary landscapes are more popular (video numbers) than green harmonious landscapes.
We meet again. You are in green and beautiful places. I wish you a safe journey. My dear. Good luck 😊🎉❤
