Good morning. It’s just after 7:00 in the A.M. It’s day number four of our bike packing trip to Prague. We’ve both woken up feeling really tired. We did 191 miles today. And the plan today is to do 182. So, we’ll see if we get there or not. We can always cut it short and stop a bit earlier and do a bit longer tomorrow cuz we got a shorter day tomorrow. So we are currently in near Nineberg near Draenburgg in Germany. And today we’re heading through Hanover and then all the way to Hal. A little bit more hilly today, but still not too bad. Bike is looking very dirty after yesterday because we were in Can’t you see it actually cuz it looks better on the camera. Um we were in Storm Amy yesterday, but we didn’t let it beat us. We got drenched for 12 hours. We had 1 hour of dry weather in a 13-hour ride, so it can’t be any worse than yesterday. But the tiredness levels are high because we didn’t sleep very well last night. And uh yeah, but we’re doing this because we want to get some training in for when we try and break the world record for cycling around the world le next year. And we’re practicing a little bit of our route. So the route that we’re doing today and tomorrow is the same route we’ll be doing when we go around the world. So yeah, let’s roll. You right, Kyle? Oh, can you see my sho from down there? I’m not wearing them today cuz they’re just saddled and they didn’t do anything. I’m just riding with wet things on my feet. Oh god, it just started raining again. Oh, it’s chucking it down. Just shove them in there. Oh, I don’t know. I’ll shove him in the top of there. In top of this one. Oh, no. It’s going to be torrential, isn’t it? How ready to three. I’m a one. I feel like a little crisp. It’s been dehydrated over the last 3 days. Actually, I feel hydrated after all the rain we’ve had. Guten’s hard. Not feeling my usual chippy self this morning. I’m in a bit of a negative mindset. So, I’m trying to be positive, but I’m not a fan of the acorns all over the path. This is a nice bit, but a lot of the path is just completely covered in sticks and acorns. So, just a bit of a bumpy ride and slowing us down, but just got to keep going. I’ll perk up in a bit. We’re 10 miles down, so taking the miles off. Okay, so we just went down a path and it left led to a dead end. So, we’re now turning round. Hopefully, there’s a path on the other side of that road. So, now going the wrong direction, but at least that’s one thing I can edit for the round the world route. It looked like it was a cycle path on Google Earth and stuff, but just went into nothing. So, back we go. There’s always a way. So, we’ll uh I’m sure we’ll find a find a solution. Cycle path was shut. It directed us this way. So, not ideal, but you know, better than nothing. This is fun, isn’t it, Kyle? Hope it leads right the way we want to go. Hope it leads the way we want to go. Right, we’ve made friends again now. We had a little spat, but we’re okay now, aren’t we, Kyle? Do you need the emotional support people? I didn’t have a spat with you. No, you were just being a little bit mean, but you’re being nice now. We all get grumpy. It’s okay. I was being m to be fair. I was being negative, but there’s no point being negative cuz that just makes the day go longer. So, just got to enjoy it. We’re on our bikes doing what we do best. And look at this. Lovely. Kyle, do you need the emotional support pickle today? I don’t. I think I think I need it today. If you didn’t watch yesterday’s video, it’s basically it’s a little pickle that I’ve got. It’s like a little crochet pickle that this lovely couple from Canada gave me when I finished to France. And it says something like, “We all need a pickme up or something, but you’re a big deal. Is that a deal? You know, you know what I mean? Like the herb. This is great. Imagine if it was like this all the way. Kyle, new piece of cake. Dingle be more like weird dingbats. We’re thinking this was a good idea. Right. Just stopped for a quick we. The wind is honestly I feel like my face has got windb burn snack as well. But we are 70 mi in. 70 mi in. 111 to go. It’s not bad. You think 111 mi? What time is it? Yeah, we did 190. Sorry. Yes. I’m just worried about if we’re going to make it. 20 12. 20 12. That’s a long way to do. Well, 100 miles 6 hours. Yeah. If if we finish by 10:00, I’ll be happy if we finish by 10 p.m. because we did have an hour. We we started an hour later today to have a bit more time in bed, but let’s go. Let’s solder on. It’s hard today. I’m I’m enjoying it. Like, don’t get me wrong. It’s really nice cycling through new places, but be nice if it wasn’t as windy cuz it’s making it hard. But, you know, well, tailwind’s nice. Let’s keep on going. Tailwind’s really nice. Yeah, tailwind’s nice. Crosswind, which we’ve got a lot of, isn’t. It’s kind of like a cross headwind. It’s horrid. Right, we’ve got 102 miles to go. We just came down the road and see it’s Sunday and everything’s shut. We saw a petrol station and we thought it’s not a proper or an accident that’s a petrol station. So, I did the best with what was in there to be honest, Kyle. It’s going to save us time as well. I got it is going to save us some time. I got you. You legend Neskaf coffee says espresso machiato Italian for you for you. Haribo. We’re in the land of Haribo in Germany. So you know for me never have one of these before peanuts and caramel. Oh never never had one for you. Coca-Cola for me. Never had this. Active fresh reload. It says it’s got vitamins, calcium, magnesium. Basically electrolytes. What I need. Perfect. Why don’t you get two of them? Probably go get another one in. Yeah, put it in your bottle. And then this is the best bit. Now, they only had these. So, we’ve got one of these each, but I thought I’ got the cheese in there for you. So, you can make a cheese sandwich. One of them each. And then a dime. Germany. German dime bars. I don’t know. I don’t know. Got a dime bar slice each. Oh my. Just lit up. So, we’re going to be okay now. You You perked up. I perked up cuz I was a bit hungry. But what I will say is go get another one of those. Yeah, I’ll get another one of these reload drinks cuz I think you’ve put one in your bottle cuz I need some electrolytes. Then let’s carry on. Thinking my Spanish petrol station. Get in there. Get in. Quicker than a cafe. Quicker than a cafe. Cheaper than a cafe. Honestly, this I know it’s not the most scenic of areas, petrol station, but this is a slice of heaven sent from the gods of Germany. Honestly, that I don’t quite know what it is, but it’s really good. Wish I could have stand in this moment for a while. I just realized I was looking at all the German brick work. I think, oh, it’s really neat. do a really neat job of it. That’s because it’s all stuck on in panels. What the bottom though? What? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I don’t really tend to look at brick work, but you’re a builder, so 102 miles to there. We got this. I like that song. Look a bit conspicuous. Conspicuous. [Music] That look like you’re going to do something naughty. I can misbehave. Yeah. Can you help me? I can’t get this on. Hello. It’s not stretching over. Is that going over? Yeah. Yeah. Can’t hold you f couldn’t get it over my head. Took it off cuz I got too hot on and I couldn’t get I didn’t want to take my helmet off. I didn’t want to take my helmet off. But I found this new thing you can do. You know, if your helmet’s off, put it like that on your head and then put your helmet on. Yeah. Can you make like a balaclava? Like a balaclava. Right. Anyway, what I’m thinking now is we’ve got I’ve got enough snack. I’ve just been back in there and got some salty crisps. That would be a good idea. Both bottles are full. That’s the right drink. Got a cheeky TomTom. You look happier. Cheeky TomTom. Yeah, cuz I’ve had food. And also I’ve also got some dates because K never takes me on them. And I’ve also got in there get really desperately some dark chocolate. So she’s getting worried about the uh electrolyte situation. Yeah, my hands don’t even want to I’ll show you them later. I actually feel really bad. My hands are really swollen because I’ve not had enough electrolytes because basically I didn’t bring enough with me and I didn’t have any yesterday. So that’s making me and I’m really upset about the bike. Look how dirty it is. Can we clean the bikes tomorrow? Cuz that’s really stressing me out. Compared to how long we were sat down in that place yesterday. We’ve not stopped for long. But the bike. Oh no. Oh, look at that. It’s just Do you know we’ve setting up an hour earlier yesterday? Yeah. But then the time we lost at lunch. I know. Oh. Do you reckon we’ve actually We’re probably only like half an hour or 40 minutes. Oh, this is stressing me out. Can we go for a car wash or something with the bikes tomorrow? Yes. Right. Let’s go. No stopping now. 100 miles snacks on the go. [Music] Really nice, isn’t it? Yeah. I feel so much better for that food stop. It’s amazing what a bit of cake can do. Yeah, we need it. All the calories we can get. Burning a lot. Oh, we’re in a massive deficit. Yeah, I think we are in a bit of a deficit. That’s the thing. It’s like when you’re doing these rides, it’s kind of like an eating competition. Really got to eat a lot, like 7,000 calories a day. So, although part of my mind sometimes can struggle with how much I have to eat from the when I used to have an eating disorder and especially things like that cake I’d never normally eat when I was ill. Like I do eat it now. But sometimes I can still get a bit like guilty. But I have to remind myself like food is fuel. You need to enjoy it. And it tasted so good. So that’s all that matters. Doesn’t matter. Like I don’t think we need to worry about what we’re eating while we’re doing this. And eat plenty of fruit and veg as well. So it’s all about balance. This is really nice. They were cute. This is a nice place. We’re on the cobbles. This is gorgeous. Oh, sun on our faces. Really nice. You’re actually a bit too hot now. I was cold a minute ago. Now I’m too hot. Go for that. Yeah, this is the last. Look at that sun. So grateful. Now, after yesterday, 13 hours of riding yesterday with only 1 hour of dryness, this just feels like heaven. And it feels nice to have some downhill. The first time, like all day yesterday and the day before, it’s just been so flat. We’ve had no free wheeling. This is just great. Kyle, a tin man on a motorbike. Don’t be so silly. She like that one. Watch out there’s a car coming. You don’t get me on the Zimmer, mate. The Zimmer in Zilly. Started from down there. Now we’re here. We were down there a minute ago. Climbed up. It’s actually nice to do some climbing. It’s like I much prefer rides that have got hills in than flat rides. I’ve got to say it’s more interesting. And now I’ve got a nice long descent. So we can enjoy that. 104 miles down now. So 707 8 78 to go. Not too bad. I’m just talking to the camera. Kyle. Kyle, give me a little tushi shake. Bumpy. I’ve just eaten that Tom caramel peanut bar thing. Oh, so good. God, I can’t believe I’ve never had one of them before. Really nice. 28 miles to go. Less than a club ride. Woohoo. Need to put our front lights on. Actually, Kyle, it’s getting dark now. You probably can’t see much, but we’re on a little cycle path. Trees each side of us. single lane path, which I’m sure is lovely in the day, but at the night it’s a little bit scary. I’m not scared though cuz I’m with Kyle, but if I was on my own, it’ be really scary. It’s a bit spooky down here. Keep on going. Less than 20 mi to go now. Hell, that’s where we’re going. Two miles to go. Right, we have made it 183 miles done and we found ourselves a kebab. So, we’re going traditional. We can’t wait to eat it all. I just ordered Kyle some sort of kebab and a chicken nugget box. So, and someone here speaks English. So, it’s great. Right. They just found out that I’ve got YouTube. So, they’re now inviting me around the back making our dinner. This is great. Should I serve up Kyle a kebab? Where’s Kyle? Oh, love. Oh, that’s spicy. Okay. Yeah, perfect. Kyle will have that. my husband cuz I was looking at you through the window wondering what I’m doing. This is great. Oh yeah, that’s the Kyle. Thank you. Just invite me in. Great. I’ll put this on my story. Oh yeah. Look at that. Oh, does that go in there? Does it? Oh yeah. Great. Thank you. Right. So, we’ve just finished. I’ll do the ride stats when I’m in bed cuz I just want to eat. But we had an unfortunate incident on the way back. Kyle absolutely decked it. He’s here. He’s okay. But basically, there was a car coming behind us and there was tram lines on the road. So, I was like, “Oh, just move to the side.” I moved to the side and Kyle kind of like swerved and you hit the pavement, didn’t you? Basically, came straight off salad all over the road. Um, there was also a load of lemons all over the road and but your bike’s okay and you’re okay, we think. We’re probably in a bit of shock at the minute. Hands are better off your angle. Watch your hands. Okay. Look at your gloves on. Thank god you got a bit of a scuff here. It’s my knee. It was the impact on my knee. Yeah. I hit the curb. But it’s 10:00 in the Been a really long hard day, but we did it. And now it’s time to enjoy something and hopefully be all right. Is that good? I’ve got my chicken. Right, I’m fed. I’m watered. I’ve got my emotional support pickle because it’s always around to let me know that I’m a big big deal. I love this little fella. They’ve got little glasses on as well. Can’t fer this pickle to your pickle. No, that’s not true. Anyway, ride stats from today, 182.76 miles, 4770 ft of going up. So, quite a flat ride to be honest. But booming the saddle for 12 hours 46 minutes and 53 seconds, and I felt it, let me tell you. Average speed 14.3 miles an hour. Let me tell you one thing. I did have a moment this morning in Hanover where I did say to Kyle, “I’m getting on a train cuz I can’t do this.” I said, “It’s not good for me. I’m too tired.” And then literally the next hour after I had a little cry, I just felt so much better and then I was fine. But there was a point on this dark cycle path and then we got to a river which I didn’t actually record because at this point we were both just so tired and we were meant to get a ferry across. There was no ferry to be seen. And it was pitch black and we had to reroute basically on some more dark cycle paths. But we got here and then Carl fell off his bike. But you know when you’re just riding, you just envision your bed. We’re here now. What’s that off? And that’s off set brothers. Daddy, I love you. Love you. Love you. No, that’s not set brothers. It’s off Elf, but it’s the same actor. Anyway, we’re in bed where we envisioned and I’m going to slip down to slumber with Mr. Pickle. actually Mrs. Pickle cuz it’s got pink bow in his hair. M and I’m going to think about what I want to do tomorrow. Well, I can’t really think. I’ve got to ride my back, but you know, I’m going to enjoy that thought cuz it’s going to be a nice day. Car’s moving the camera cuz he’s eating some popcorn. Is that nice? How you feeling? Oh, you love your hair, by the way. She really looks like Dracula. Um, you did really well today. Kyle was very Look at my face. I’ve windswept. Kyle was very very although the one moment Hannib weren’t that supportive but the rest of the day you were very supportive of me. The moment I want support is cuz I knew that how to get you going. Yeah cuz he knew that I didn’t want to quit really. So we had to be giving some tough love. And I’m glad you did. I might come across like I’m being mean. But you needed that. Yeah, cuz I was riding along really slow on purpose cuz I thought in my head if I start going really slow then we’ll have to get the train cuz it won’t make it in time button. So I was just like freewheing along with my head down and every time Kyle looked back I was like doing a really like sad face. Well, I know I had to push a button. So if I wound it up enough that I’d je up. Yeah. Then it worked and then he went right on then let’s go on the train. And I was like no I’m not getting on the train. Cuz I knew it would work by that button. Yeah. Oh anyway crunchy apple. Also, I think it just shows your mindset because if you’re in, look how red my face is. If you’re in a negative mindset, then the day just goes a lot slower. But if you’re positive, it’s okay. You’re out there, Kyle. Anyway, I’m going to finish on a crunchy. Oh, and this is my swollen hand situation. Really not good. They’re really swollen. Normally, you can see the bones in my hands. So, I think it’s a mixture of lack of electrolytes and the bike position because when I’m on my dogma, my other bike, I never get it. So, I think it is this position on that bike. It’s got to be. And the electrolytes. At least I didn’t fall off my bike like somebody over here. Anyway, crunchy apple test. The one I got you. M from the tree. No, this is the one I bought from the shop. Oh, the one from the tree looks good. I’m going to have the ones from the tree in the morning. I took a bite of that one. It’s actually really nice. Chocolate. Yeah. Anyway, tomorrow we’re going to be hitting Czech aka Czech Republic. So, time to go to sleep. Thank you so much for watching. TFN Tata for now. Goodbye. Goodbye. Where’s Pickle? Who wants to say goodbye? Where’s Pickle gone? Pickle ball. Oh, pickle. Pickle ball. You gone. Goodbye. Wait, what would the pickle sound like? Like something about what you’re about to do, I think. Goodbye. Yeah. What would you What would it do? Wait, you do the voice and I’ll do the action. 3 2 1 go. Get bad. Right.

  1. Pleased it dried up for you both, its amazing what a bit of cake can do,it lifted the spirits 100%,mistakes happen when you are tired, hope kyle is ok for the rest of the journey, keep spinning them legs,🚴🚴‍♂ At the petrol station, 102 miles to go,the 👀said it all 👍,whooo hoooo baby.

  2. I turned to YouTube for comfort to help with what I was going through a long time ago, I have discovered so many people from all walks of life from all over the world over the years, watching YouTube picked up the peace's, I love your videos and discovering what you are doing for SHOUT is very special to me too, keep going you are both doing a great job and wishing you both all the very best, thank you so much both. ❤❤

  3. On a Sunday, in Germany and Austria, often the only food shops that are open are in the Train Station. Bigger train stations seem to have a Spar, a bakery and a few fast food places. Rural Austria also has unstaffed, self-service mini supermarkets (amazing concept). Some of them you have to swipe a debit card at the door to get in, which confused me until some kind local helped me out.

  4. Well done Amy and Kyle, another long ride, you two are amazing. Hope Kyle is ok after his fall. I always wear gloves when I'm cycling. Hope you have a rest when you get to your destination. Love you guys, take care, bye for now Tim ❤.

  5. I wonder if it's worth choosing gravel bikes (w/ tubeless) for your the 🌎 challenge. You won't know what the terrain will actually be over ~18,000 miles (e.g. the sneaky gravel today).

  6. 182 miles! Just another normal day for Amy and Kyle, well done! Very inspiring to see you battling through the low points including your past issues with food, petrol station feasting like proper Audax champions! Hope Kyle is ok in the morning. Cheers.

  7. Hey Amy, great video as always!
As someone else already mentioned, flashing rear Lights arent street legal in Germany. You might get in Trouble with the Police If they See you with them.

You liked the daim cake. It kinda looked like the one you can get Frozen at Ikea. Might want to Look in to that 😉

  8. I really don't see why you want to cycle so far in a day, it can't be pleasant cycling 180 miles in a day. No wonder Kyle is grumpy. As for trying to beat some pointless record for cycling around the world, WHY? I'd much rather take my time and enjoy each country.

  9. Glad your both ok, and still in high spirits, i think it's all experience for your tour next year, dealing with rerouting and the scares of being somewhere foreign, in the dark. Just remember to remain calm and stick to civilisation, you can always work things out in the daylight, and put a good spin on it.

As for the brickwork, Kyles right, they use precast slabs on high rises, bolt on a couple of floors every few week, pour the floor, rinse repeat, but precast on small building is a new one to me, I think about 20yrs ago, prefab houses in germany used to be a thing, but never heard a lot more about them. Anyway, back to the biking, Kyle take care mate, just recently got taken out by a pedestrian on an electric scooter, and dam it hurt, and Amy, stop winding him up. 😁Good going to the both of you, your doing great.
