Recently overhauled a 1985 Bianche Stelvio. I believe it was marketed as an entry-level racing bike back in the day. Columbus tubing, and built in Italy with a mix of Ofmaga, Campy, and Suntour parts. 14-26 Regina cluster, 23mm clinchers, and Suntour Superbe brakes.
I cleaned and rebuilt the wheel bearings, replaced the bottom bracket with a used Phil Woods hub, and replaced the crankset, chain, headset, cables, and saddle.
It’s now a very fast and smooth road bike. I don’t plan to race (I’m 67), but it’ll be good for long rides on country roads outside our city and paved multiuse trails. I fantasize about an Eroica ride somewhere but gotta get my mojo working again after being off my bicycles for a year. I’m a longtime serious rider but I prefer vintage bicycles for their character, beauty, and ease of maintenance and customization.
