to this. After six races with five different winners across two continents and nine weeks, we return to one of the great triathlon venues. Our toughest course by far, the biggest crowd we have, and with more on the line than ever before, the title races for both men’s and women’s are wide open. Who can avoid disaster? And who can find what it takes to win here in Tulu? The big crowd is ready for two big big races. And this is super try. So the primary points and the prize money race is decided amongst the teams. Every point an individual athlete earns for themselves goes into their team’s total. Stars and stripes have a season best 65 in Jersey a couple of weeks ago and could still make the top three. They’re chasing Brownley Racing who in turn are closing on the defending champs Crown Racing who are in real danger of seeing their title slip away as podium racing continue to dominate. Doing it for the team is such an important part of Super Try now. Crown and podium lock it out. What’s great here is you’re seeing what it really means to the teams. These guys are really sticking together and doing it for each other. I tell you what, podium racing are looking really good right now. Crown has relinquished top spot. Podium one, two. Crown really hanging by a thread now. This team title is really looking good for podium at the moment. Well, I’m here with Kenji Nina, the injured podium racing captain here to cheer on his team on what could be a huge day. Kenji, a title right on the line here. Yeah, absolutely. I think it’s a great opportunity for us and it’s a privilege to be back here and supporting the team. So, I’m going to do my absolute best today. Whatever it is, whatever everyone needs, I’m just going to do my best to uphold my end of the bargain. So yeah, it’s uh it’s great to be back in Tuloo. Unfortunately, I can’t race, but uh great crowd as always, and I’m really looking forward to today. Well, thanks, Kenji. And joining us as well, Vince, Vincent Louie, a true uh Super Tri uh legend, two-time champion, and and won this title with Crown Racing last year. Vince, Vasco is lining up today for Crown Racing with a real chance of the title. What does he need to do to win it? Yeah, Vasco definitely on fire this year. I think he really improved his run. Uh, I think this race will really suit you here in treat him in here in Tulus because the bike is quite technical and he’s really strong on the bike. So, yeah, I would advise him to try to uh break a little bit on the on the bike on the last leg and just run his way to the finish. But definitely a good contender for the for the win overall. Well, thanks very much, guys. Let’s hope for a good race. Yeah, he’s been around since 2019. finally broke the duck here last year, but it’s wide open in the individual standings with five men, not just Vasco, in with a legitimate shot of becoming the champion. Both Leman and Velasa will become champion with a win thanks to the extra points on offer in the grand final. While John Reed, Taylor Reed, and Ricardo Batista all have a mathematical chance. Gonzalez Garcia not here. Leman though was a last start winner. He caught up with Adam earlier to talk about preg grand final nerves. It’s pretty good actually. I think I’m still in pretty good shape, but we will see. Of course, there’s a little bit of pressure on me, but I’m already very happy how this season is going. So, I had already one win. And of course, I will do my best for sure. It will be a really tough battle. Well, your biggest rival looks like being Basco Velaka, who’s just behind you in the standings. What does it take to beat him? It’s almost almost mission impossible because he’s a brilliant athlete, but of course, I will I will need to show something extraordinary and I will I will really try it. Maybe I I need to be very patient on tomorrow’s race and save some energy and accelerate just in the right time. So, I’m very excited. And finally, a big a big day as well for your Stars and Stripes team. It’s been a tough season for them at times, but they’re obviously very excited about the potential of you getting on top of the podium. Yeah, I think we have a really good chance on that. Of course, it it won’t be easy. And also, I think we have a good chance to to step on the podium as a team. So every member of the team will push really hard tomorrow because this is like uh all or nothing. Well, to have any chance, the athletes and teams have to conquer the course and the format. Format first, three backto-back triathlons, no breaks, eight transitions, all of which you can follow via the graphic at the bottom of your screen right now. There are three shorts on offer. There shortcuts taken on the final run and earned by the fastest athlete at the end of the first swim, bike, and run. All of which is much easier said than done, especially on this course. And Crown Racing manager Michael Gilliam takes us through it. Grand final. We’ve got a hard swim course. Left to right current, right to left, windbreak. What’s going to happen? A sailor’s nightmare. Let’s see how we go. We’ve got the inside slot. Four spots. They suit us. I don’t know how the others are going to fair. Hopefully the housekeeping’s gone well. Now you’ve got the problem. You got to get the feet in. Get set for this little climb. About 2%. It’s not a hard climb, but it’s a hard climb if your feet aren’t latched to the bike. So, you thought you had problems coming up that short incline. Then all of a sudden, you come off the edge and bang, look what we’ve got. We’ve got a lip here for them to deal with. And then you get the last chance to be buckled in and strapped up. They could come off this without even being connected to their bikes. If they’re slow with their transition, heart rate ridge on the Poner ridge. Here we have a real hard one for them to deal with. They’ve got to go up here on the bike, turn around, hook it, and back down. They’re also going to have to do this on the run. And then they face the real hard right-hander. The addition of the Poner bridge is going to create speed. Speed for this corner, changing surfaces. Then we’ve got the righthander here down to the bottom and bang, the big left. The one that could really bring you undone. They’ve come out from underneath the bridge. Used to be the short. Then you get full gas alley down into transition zone again. Let’s see how it all pans out. All right, that wasn’t enough. It’s been raining on and off this morning, too. Let’s have a look at the lineup with under 5 minutes to go. Matis Bolu has been getting better and better. Season best sixth in Jersey. The 21-year-old Canadian. Leman we’ve heard about as well. The Hungarian second and first from two races. Reese Vanison is back. A World Cup winner, super runner now turned all rounder. And Seth Ryder, the veteran American, comes in. Strong swimmer he is. He’ll pick up some points there for Brownley Racing of course led by Johnny Brownley, the three-time Olympic medalist and team owner. Marcus Day is your swim leader at the moment. He has been fantastic in the water looking for an improved overall. Harry Leelu and Ian Penacamp are both making their league deuce off the back of good appearances in Super Try E. Now, Crown Racing, we just heard from the team manager, Ricardo Batista, sixth in Paris Olympics, sixth overall at the moment. Didn’t race in Jersey, did pick up a fourth in Chicago, though. Velasa, the race winner here last year. If he can do it again, he’ll be the champion. Roberto Sanchez, the former under 23 world champion, has had a tough season. And Aurelian Jim is on his league deboo races for Mets in the French GP. And podium on top with manager John Anthony. The two Reeds on the left, John and Taylor. John Reed picked up a podium in Chicago. Taylor Reed looking to better his fifth overall from 2022. The former world champions, three-time Olivian Dorian Conics is here, and Antoine Duval is on DU as well. Parker, uh, a big day for you today. You’ve got a man, Sean Gayleman, your leading man who’s got a real chance of winning this title. He comes in the lead. What does he got to do to get over the line? Sean’s just needs to do what he’s been doing all season. He just needs to go into this with confidence and and uh, talking before the race, he’s definitely confident he can pull this off. I think he’s just been on a tear the last couple weeks where he’s been winning almost every race that he’s done. He did a French Grand Prix last weekend and did really well there. Um but yeah, uh he’s got to beat Vasco and Vasco was on my team last year and he won here. So I know he’s a big threat. Uh right now Shanser’s two points ahead of him. He just needs to show up and win today because if Vasco gets right in front of him then uh I mean I don’t know how that that would pretty much with the points being worth more here, Vasco would pass him. And just really quickly, you’ve got a chance potentially to leap forward Brownley and get off the bottom. Just quickly, what do you need to do to make that happen? Every single one of our athletes has to show up with confidence today. Um, it has been some rain on the course. The course is a little slippery. Um, but I feel really good about where we’re at. Thanks, Parker. Best of luck today. Thank you. [Music] That’s one of the great shots. We have arrived here after nine weeks at the grand final. Stars and Stripes on the left of your screen. They’ll have the longest run to the opening boy. Crown racing on the right. They get the whole shot in if they can get a good start. It is time to go racing here in the grand final. Interloo for the fourth time. Let’s get it on. Bit hesitant, but a clean start and they are about 150 out to the opening boy. A great start from Marcus Day there in the blue cap who is immediately taking control. My name is Will Mcloin. Alongside me in the commentary box as always, the incomparable Annie Emerson is here and she is practically bouncing with excitement. Annie, I am so excited. I love this venue. The crowds are incredible. It’s a brilliant course. Looking there, water temperature 17°. I know it’s a bit chilly this morning around about 15. Marcus Day taking this swim out really hard. He knows how important the points are for his team. And look at him go now. I can see that they’re being slightly pushed, I think, down the river. Um there is a bit of a current in this one here, but Crown uh we think had the best start for the team on the pontoon. Ah, yeah. Well, maybe the best start on the pontoon, but as soon as they got off the pontoon, it was Marcus Day leading everybody by a couple of body lengths. Uh, he’s wanting to have better results overall, but he’s been incredible in the water. Already picked up the most swim points out of anybody. Hasn’t finished that well. Apart from that, you can see Seth Ryder on the left trying to cut across the veteran American. That was what his stars and drives manager uh Parker Spencer told him to do. and he told Matthysse Bouldu to get right on Seth Ryder’s feet and that’s exactly what has happened as they try and cut down. I think that’s Taylor Reed uh in second for podium racing. Yeah, and the current is looking to be a little bit stronger than perhaps what we thought. It will slow now as they’ve turned that first boy and head to the next boy just 300 m. It’s chilly in there. I was talking talking with Torian Con who’s racing for podium racing this morning and he said he was really afraid of how cold the water was going to be. But it is only 300 meters and before you know it, they will be out of the water and on their bikes. Well, the sun has disappeared once again. I was in that water this morning. It was 15°. I was absolutely freezing. The feeling just coming back in my fingers and toes now. We’re going to head down now back to Adam Leech who is with Vincent Lewis. Well, Vince, Vince, you’ve raced this course before and you’re you’re here on the pontoon looking at what’s going on. What can you what can you see and what are these athletes going through in that water? Well, Marcus Day is definitely stretching the pack. Uh he’s a good swimmer. He’s leading the leaderboard for swimming points, but he’s definitely hurting everyone. Uh Crown Racing choose the inside. I think it was a good move, but the current is actually quite strong now and they got pushed a bit too much and boxed in the boys. So, they they closing the they’re closing the group now. But transition will be crucial and that first lap on the bike, I think, will be will be really good. But also, we have to remember if they do a good first lap on the bike, they can take the bike point once with the fastest bike lap. So, it’s always good to start at the back and finish the lap at the front. Thanks, Vince. So, good to have the two-time champion uh back here, obviously supporting his partner, Georgia, but also just adding so much to um to the Super Trike coverage and giving us a little bit of insight there as a man who was a fantastic swimmer in his time. Really interesting to see Crown Racing who, as we said, had the whole shot. There they are at the back. 1 2 3 4 and Michael Gilliam will be very upset with that. He will be really upset. I think he liked their position on the pontoon. I didn’t. The river goes from left to right in terms of the current and it’s really impacted Crown Racing once again. Out of the water first, Marcus Day, but this time he’s not fighting with anyone. It’s just complete fresh air. It is Reed who is in second position. So, we picked that Harry Leu’s had a good swim as well. Then Dorian Conics is fourth out of the water. So it looks like the first short will go as Marcus Day actually goes past his bike and then comes back. It’s across the mountain line. Brownley out of the water too there. Seth Ryder who didn’t have a great swim. Bannison there is Velasa and Sanchez and Jam. And Sanchez has a bit of a slip as he did on the black car but last time first short goes to Brownley racing and it’s Brownley one two leu having a great transition and then Reed Conics Ryder Brownley is your top six. So, three Brownley athletes in the top six and three stars and stripes athletes in the top nine. And the first crown athlete is Velasa 10 seconds back. Now, Michael Gilliam said to us before confidentially that what he needs is Vasco Velasa to push his way to the front of the bike. He can’t outrun Chongor Leman and he needs to ride like a bat out of hell and gap them on each of the rides because this is a slippery course with multiple changes in surface area. It looks like we’re starting to get a few sprinkles again as well and Velasa is the if he’s going to win it, he’s going to have to win it on the bike. Yeah. Uh, I mean, Chunga is in the form of his life, but I just wonder sizewise, he’s a lot bigger than Vasco in terms of height, and is he going to find this course a bit more challenging on the run? I don’t know. Vasco will be good on this course. He won last year. He knows how to work this course. So, let’s see. So much to play for and a while to go yet. But the athletes, I think, being slightly cautious on this damp course. Sometimes it’s easier when it’s really wet. You know what you’re dealing with. here. Patches of the road are drying out, but patches are still wet, and that’s going to be tricky for some of these riders. Bolu, who finished sixth, is all the way back uh towards the back of the pack there. Second last, and that was a squeezy little moment on that green paint. And this time they come down the hill. Uh very narrow onto the cobblestones here. We have never had an accident here before. Touch wood. Uh people are very, very cautious as somebody takes it wide. That was Conics in the back of shot. They come spilling through into the back end of the course and a right hand turn. They’ll go under where we used to have the short which is here underneath the bridge. Now it’s on the Pont Nerf which is that little extra spot. There’s Johnny Brownley leading a packa pushing his way forward to the front of this pack and trying to cover that gap and Bolu is at the back along with Antoine Duval and a little pack forms at the front as they catch day and two stars and stripes athletes are amongst them. The first of four bike laps. It’s Reed. It’s Leman who was in was 6 seconds in a rears and has erased that. And it’s Seth Ryder as well. He He Leman is one of those athletes that just doesn’t put a foot wrong at the moment. He’s uh he’s so cool, calm, and collected. And he comes into this race, I think, without any pressure. The pressure really is on Basco Valaza today. He desperately wants to take the series overall, but at the moment having to fight his way back into this race. Yeah, it seems like Leman, he did race in Super Try three or four years ago. Then he had a big break. He comes back in this year and gets a second in Toronto and then he wins in Jersey and suddenly he’s in podium uh in championship contention and it’s almost been a little bit of a surprise for him, the Hungarian. Whereas Velasa has been the bridesmaid a few times and probably feeling the weight of that pressure coming in here knowing he won here last year and people are expecting him to do that. Now he’s trying to push to cover that bike gap as they come around the top of the pot for the second time. There he is in fifth position and Lehman is allowed to work with that group in the opening part of this bike. Yeah, they’re sort of coming back together again. Now four laps of course on this course and it’s going to be fast and furious all the way round and there’s Basco now. We’ll head down now to Michael Gilliam to see what he thinks about that start. Adam [Applause] Michael. Michael, what’s the tactics here? You’ve got Batista in with with Vasco. Was that the plan? Yeah, basically the two of them are got to go together. You can see here we’ve just got one Frenchman in there in the middle at the moment, which is destroying my plan. But he’s chose to launch on this downward section, try and get on the second lap. Thanks, Michael. Yeah, the plan was from Gileiam to have Batista try and block those behind hoping hoping that Lehman especially was behind and let Vasco Velasa get away at the front. Unfortunately, that group of four does include Lehman. So, the second we start to think about the second of the shorts now because if Lehman comes up with one or Stars and Stripes come up with one and Crown Racing doesn’t, it’s certainly advantage Leman in the championship battle because if it comes down to it, he’s probably got better run legs than Velasa. And if he also has a short shoot, that could really help him as he goes to the front of this race. It’s about coming onto the mount line after the transition onto the run first and picking that up. And Velasa will know this as he takes another second out in that lap from that leading four. It’s all happening here, isn’t it? Just taking a look. Reed was there as well with Johnny Brownley in the second chase pack. Reed still in contention. Not Reed as in Taylor Reed from New Zealand. It is John Reed from the US, but he’s a little further back than he would like. Yeah, he’s 10 seconds in a at the moment. Vanison as well 11 seconds back in that third group. This group working together off the back of the Lassa. So, it’s Ryder, Leman, Reed, and Day. And Day has finished way back in the pack after having great swims previously. He’d be happy where he is right now. Velasa really leans into that corner, has confidence in his bike, and continues to drag that pack up to the front on the third lap of the bike. And there is the gap. 5 seconds or more and coming down this sort of roller coaster section. The three crown athletes are all trying to work together to put themselves back up at the front of this one. And you can see the gap. If anything, it’s increasing a little bit as this group work together at the front. We haven’t really mentioned Taylor Reed that much, have we? I mean, he’s sitting back in uh let’s have a look in seventh position. Had that crash really, really unfortunately in Jersey towards the latter stages of the race, but he’s an athlete that’s really coming to form and definitely potentially still in contention in terms of the overall series. All right, we’re going to head back down now to the black carpet to Adam Leech who continues to bring us updates across the course of this one. Parker, we’re just seeing the athletes ride by here. You’ve got Seth Ryder up there with Chongor. Is this the plan? Is he helping to create this gap to Vasco? Two years ago, Seth crashed on this course and he’s been talking to me all season about coming back for this race to make a point. He wants some redemption on this course. And if that means he helps a teammate win the overall series, that’s what he’s going to do. Thanks, Parker. All right, just as he says that, the three crown athletes have dropped from 5 seconds to 8 seconds back and Penn is with them. the debutant from the Netherlands. Bolu has moved up from 15th place tonight, so he’s had a good start to the bike. And Johnny Brownley has dropped from about seventh place to 12th. Harry Leelu as well came out of the water in third position and now he’s 17 seconds back. So, he’s finding the going tough as well. This is a great little working group. It really is. And we know that Seth Ryder is a really decent swimmer, but he’s a renowned cyclist and he’s absolutely eating up this course right now. Really impressed with Marcus Day as well, the way he’s riding on this course, although I think he’ll find the run a little bit harder. Yeah. Well, in transition, there’s some real drama here. Dorian Conics as a flat pack on the on the rear of his bike. the mechanics here changing the uh the entire rear wheel. But honestly, this is probably going to be the end for him fairly soon because it’s going to be hard to get back into this. Thanks, Adam. That is bad news for Dorian Conics there, the three-time Olympian, obviously former world champion, 2022, I want to say. Picked up the world title and uh a puncture in this type of racing. Impossible to come back from. Absolutely. 2023 world champion and second and second here in 2022. So he loved this course and he was really excited to be back racing. He hasn’t had the best years since the Olympics. So real disappointment for team podium and uh Durian Conx. Yeah, just confirming he is now out as they come off the bike. So whoever crosses the mountain line first after this transition will pick up a short. Brownley already had one through day. Reed is the only hope then for podium, but it looks like it could be Leman getting out. And who’s going to get out first? It is going to be Leman and Stars and Stripes pick one up. Smart racing from the Hungarian. A slower transition there from Day. Vasco Velasa won’t know who picked that one up, but he won’t be happy to hear it is his title rival. And now it’s left to him to try and run that gap back. Meanwhile, at the back of pack there, there’s Bolu on the right of screen. Then Leelu Brownley is in that group as well. Vanison, who’s probably the class runner. Reed has come out with his he’s going to do the entire thing with his swim cap on and then Antoine Duval is finding things very very tough. Look at Layman though. He is so strong. He doesn’t know how to go any other way than absolute 100%. Taylor Reed looking really good and as I was mentioning a little while ago, still in contention to make the podium overall. Marcus Day has just got to work this climb, give everything he’s got and not lose too much time because then he’ll have the nice fast descent. Yeah, in terms of the men in that shot, Leman probably the form runnerup, although they all are incredibly quick. It’s Day who needs to stay in touch with the group and it’s hard to tell what that gap actually looks like between Day and Velasa, but you know, Velasa has got one eye up on John Layman out the front. The gap was out to 10 seconds at the start of the run. When we get another split, we’ll tell you. And it’s only a 1.2k runs. A little bit smaller or shorter than it has been before. And look at Ryder. He is sucking in the big one. Seth Ryder wondering exactly how Chongor Leman can be that fast. You know what? This run course is absolutely brutal. Will I I I I’ve been thinking about it. You know, they come off the bike absolutely maxed out and it’s straight uphill. All right, into the back end of the course now. And that is a big big gap. We’ll head back down now to Adam Leech with another update from a manager. John, is this a little bit nervy? Dorian Conning’s out. John Reed struggling a little bit here. This is a little bit of a blow for you today. Yeah, this is these races are super dynamic and a lot of people thought we had this nailed, right? I’m not nervous, but you can see a lot of things can happen. So, we got to give John Reed some time to catch up and I think he will. Thanks Sean. Yeah, at the moment podium only have that one athlete in third, but the two athletes in front from Stars and Stripes are not in the title race. Velasa Sanchez and Batista though are in for Crown who’s trying to shut that down and it must be getting hot under John Reed’s cap. Oh, it must be. I saw him this morning and he just looks so excited for this race. So, not the best start so far, having already lost an athlete, but hey, Taylor Reed is still up there, too. And uh, you know, my money’s on him to pull off something pretty special here. John Reed there just going through the pictures. He’s got a lot to make up on, but a great runner. What can he pull back before they dive into the water once again? Yeah, you can see the uh playing card there for Jong Leman, who is an absolute fixture at Tijaros, which is at home in Hungary for him. And he, as I said, was here a few years ago, took some time off, came back and had a second in Toronto and now he looks like a superhero with those on and and then a first in Jersey. And he was very surprised to have done it as well. And he’s back at the front of this race with Ryder hanging tough in this one with Reed in the gap now gone to everyone but Lehman. And it looks like Stars and Stripes will pick up the second their second short or the third overall by going straight into the water which means that Crown Racing do not get one and neither Oh, you know what this is looking this is looking tough for Basco Velza, isn’t it? It really is because if Leman beats him, he wins. If wins, he wins uh the series overall. But uh Leman’s actually looking really good at the moment. He is. And I think that Velasa will want to just jump on Marcus Day’s feet. He’s to the right and Velas is off to the left. And they’ll try and work together. And as we’ve seen in these swims before, when a fatigue swim begins and we’re now into the fourth of nine disciplines, the gap generally disappears for the athlete out the front. And we can see that already happening. It was 7 seconds into the water and now it’s basically all evaporated because it’s so much easier if you’re fatigued to swim in a pack than it is to be out the front. Oh, it absolutely is. And and sometimes you think, how does that happen? Cuz the gap was big, but they’ve managed to just to drum jump on that draft. But they are all really strung out, which suggests that the pace is on here at the moment. The pace is on. Crown in fourth and fifth. Stars and Stripes out front, first and second. Taylor Reed is your lead podium athlete. Now, Taylor Reed, and you can see it on the Super Try Instagram, but we’re all very upset to watch Taylor Reed crash out when he was um right up the front of the the racing jersey a couple of weeks ago. He’s been such a fixture on this um podium team, but also in Super Try in general. And speaking of the podium team, a man who dominated like no man before him, maybe Vincent Lewis was Alberto Gonzalez Garcia. He’s with Adam. Well, Alberto, very disappointed for you not to be racing here, but a very interested spectator. A tough start for podium. And also, how do you see this battle between Vasco and and Chongo at the moment? Well, it seems like such a good fight between the two of them. But well, I’m here to support my team pod racing and unfortunately Dorian had to retire for a mechanical problem. So well we are boosting with Tyler Reed. He’s now pushing in the front. So we are looking forward to have a good race today. Thanks Alberto. I’ll tell you what, there’s not many race races or you know race series where athletes who are injured like Kenji Nino and Alberto Gonzalez Garcia will just turn up anyway because the team aspect is so important to them and podium racing obviously is like you guys have got to come. You’ve been part of the team. It’s the grand final, were in the box seat, and they they’ll turn up and do it when in such a packed racing schedule even that they’re injured is is pretty impressive. It’s so impress impressive. I But I’ve been able to speak to both of them and both of them desperately wanted to be here. Kenji, we know what a team player is. But Alberto, what a brilliant addition to Super Try this year. That terrific, incredible win in Chicago, but he just said, “Look, I’m really happy to be here. I can’t race. Not the end of the world. I’ll be back next year, but I’m going to be here to support the team.” Well, he certainly dominated in Chicago. And Kenji, well, this was his his breakthrough podium race here. Um, if you remember, if you finished third as well and Taylor Reed hanging on to the back of these two stars and stripes athletes as Seth Ryder uh swims over the top or not directly over the top, but swims past. We’ve seen that before. Mate, yes, that’s true. We have seen that maybe two weeks ago. That was an interesting one. I tell you what is interesting here as we see Layman lead the water, but Marcus Day slightly struggling on this second swim. He’s such a dominant swimmer, but obviously the fatigue starting to kick in now. All right, there was Garcia on the edge of your screen just cheering on Taylor Reed who is in podium position at the moment, but we still have a lot of racing to go here in the men’s race. Nice clean transition from Ryder and Velasa now heads back out. He is behind Pennam who’s having some kind of a debut. So Ryder first, then Lehman, then Reed, then a gap, and it’s going to be left to crown to work together. There’s Velasa behind Batista and this group together with Vanison’s had a great swim there. Really good. He’s come back up into sixth position. And there’s Day who’s dropped off considerably. 17 seconds and he got into the water so quickly. Love that mount there from Roberto. Honestly, he’s he’s not the strongest of swimmers, so he knew he had to have a a good transition there and absolutely flew onto the bike. Roberto Sanchez Matakon, who’s racing for Crown Racing. He’s had a pretty disappointing season actually, Roberto Sanchez, considering uh his resume overall. He finished eighth in Jersey, which is best result. Yeah, exactly. Two seconds back. I think it’s just the swim that lets him down. You know, he he’s been on the podium the World Triathon Championship Series and finished 10th overall in 2023 in Super Tribe. But the swim is tough in Super Try. There’s a huge gap back. Well, there they are. I I was worried that there was a pile up or something because these three have worked together and really dragged the gap back out considering it was a few seconds out of the water and now Ryder is just on one and just dragging the championship contender Leman well away from the chasing pack again. I I tell you what, this is amazing team work as well cuz Seth Ryder has come in. It’s his first race in the Super Try this year and he’s come into this race and what a help he is being for Tonga Layman at the moment because this gap is significant I think. Yeah, m maybe at the beginning and I’m sure Parker Spencer would have would have talked to them about it. Um was Seth obviously the best swimmer and has been told Seth told Seth to go out there swim well and work for Chongore to win them the title. But there is a time during this race when Seth Rder starts thinking well forget that I could win this race. So we’ll head down now to we haven’t heard from Tim Dawn yet, Brownley manager. He’s with Adam. Tim, it’s like a a battle within a battle here with you Brownley Racing and Stars and Stripes racing. You’ve got two athletes in the top 10. Stars and Stripes have two out the front. How do you see it? Yeah, absolutely. I think Seth Ryder is doing a magnificent job of sacrificing his race for the overall win hopefully for the team, but they’re also getting a load of points. Still got a lot to pay for, but we need to move up on the bike. They’re great racing. Thanks. That gap now to the front group and the chasing pack is as big as it has been. 14 seconds between now what is a group of three to the chasing pack with Pentac and again I have to say like he’s he’s having a great Doo the man from the Netherlands Velasa and Bannison who’s had a great middle part of this race and Batista and then a further 6 seconds back to John Reed. So, we’re all backing Taylor Reed, the Kiwi, to find himself on the podium. And right now, it’s looking very, very good. It depends how much how many matches uh Seth Ryder has burnt. But at the moment, if he’s either doing it for his teammate or he’s doing it for himself. I think he’s too experienced to to have burnt matches. I mean, you could be right, but uh he finished fifth in London in 2024. So, he’s got an idea uh of what he needs to race well over so try and eighth in the Olympic Games. So, Seth Ryder is a talented and experienced athlete. Well, Vasco Velasa, it was 14 in the first lap. Now, it’s only 10 seconds. So, he is pushing it on the bike. Henamp I should say. I mean he’s been in some kind of form. He was 11th in the World Triathon Championship Series in Kal Vivari recently. Um but you know we see people come on Doo and it takes a special athlete to compete on Doo in this format and style of racing because it’s so different to what these athletes are used to. We’ll get another update on the splits. It went down to 10 seconds between Leman and Velasa or the first and second pack. We get an update right now and see where they’re up to, but I think it might have gone back out again. There you go. 13 seconds to Velasa Pentacan Batista and Bannison. I think Velasa has the wrong legs to to pull something back and to get Oh, and that was close coming around that corner there. He leans right into it and uh doesn’t want to take up too much road if he doesn’t have to, but he’s going to have to be c cautious because he needs to stay on his bike if he’s going to have a shot at this overall title. Johnny Brownley 35 seconds back on our screens. 28 on yours. So regardless, it’s half a minute, which is way too much in this style of racing. Velasa back on the front of the pack. [Applause] Well, Vince, you’re watching on here. You know these athletes so well. Seth Ryder is going so hard out the front. Is he gone too hard or can he keep this up? Yeah. Know, I think Seth is doing great. He’s using the course as his advantage. He’s really technical on the bike. I think this next run is going to be decisive for him if he can stick with Tongo. Uh that’ be that’d be really good. But yeah, definitely the next run is going to be really decisive for Seth. But yeah, I’m really impressed and uh really happy for him. Thanks, Vince. He did look like he was digging pretty deep at the back end of the first run, Seth Ryder, but he’s got a little bit of a cushion back and he can certainly swim his way back into things if needed. And Leman will be happy as well that he has a strong swimmer in Taylor Reed alongside him. So, he’s got two great swimmers who can continue to drag him away from the pack. I think these three need to kind of stick together if they can, but it’ll be difficult because, as you said, this run uh all things can happen in the run, that’s for sure, and gaps can quickly form, but if these three can work together in the water, then they will have a chance of staying away from the chasers. Yeah, three and four are goodsized groups around a course like this. as we get an update from our timing team that Antoine Duval who was a minute 20 back on the last lap has fallen more than a minute 30 in a rears and that means that he is eliminated. So, anyone who’s further than 90 seconds back when they enter the black carpet on any lap of any discipline is done for the day. And that he is the first. Probably not the last though, such as the pace up at the front. And the pace is ferocious. Vanison having a really, really good race. Really good to see. He’s so well known as a runner and sometimes struggles on the swim. the young athlete who is part of project podium having a really really good race here. The other one we should talk about a little bit more as Matthysse Baldi, the Canadian who I think back in January was injured. He was really he wasn’t really doing anything in the sport. He didn’t know whether he wanted to continue or not. And he reached out to Parker Spencer and said, “Give me a shot.” and Spencer and he wouldn’t like me saying this but he’s put a lot of his time and effort and money and help into Matthysse Bolu and he has continued to get better and better across the course of this season to be able to mixing it with a chance at a top five in Super Try only 6 to 8 months after considering giving up the sport is nothing to sneeze at. So everyone who’s helped Matthysse along the way and Matthysse himself my hats off to you. Absolutely. He’s gone sixth in Jersey, eighth in Chicago, ninth in Toronto. so improved in every race which is uh been really good to see. I’m super impressed with Taylor right now and I think he’s a big favorite isn’t he amongst the fans and the athletes and there’ll be a lot of people out there that just are thinking well it it’s about time for him isn’t it? He got a bronze medal back in the 2022 u mix relay event at the Commonwealth Games and has been on the podium at World Cups but the last year or so hasn’t been the best for the Kiwi athletes racing for podium racing. Love it. He could win this race. you know, he’s he looks strong and then two weeks ago he just said I was just I was on one. It was one of those days where everything felt easy and then he ditched the bike on that treacherous round, didn’t it? He said it was my fault. Put my hands up. You know, I was too too over keen there. So, great to see an athlete or hear an athlete not blaming anyone else but himself. We’re going to see soon who the managers have decided to give the short to. And that shortcut is no longer under the bridge. just on the pump nerve and it’s down to Parker Spencer and Tim Dons who decide and I’d be very surprised if it doesn’t go to John Leman from Parker Spencer and Vanison back out on the run with Batista. So the young American alongside the man who from Portugal who was sixth in the Olympics Ian Penamp the Dutchman and another Portuguese legend of racing especially super racing is Velasa and they’re still stuck together. The gap’s now big. Back to Sanchez, Manticon. And out the front again, he just goes off on one. He’s nice and tall. Big long loing stride. And Chong Leman will probably end up in the water on his own for the final swim. He is such a talented and very very likable athlete. I I I just think that we’re going to be seeing a lot more coming from Layman from uh from Hungary. Chonga Layman racing for stars and stripes. He’s been a brilliant addition to the Stars and Stripes racing team this year, but it’s River Spoon. And I tell you what, I think that Velasa will be very happy for the company that he has around him now supporting him because it’s not been the easiest of days so far for Vasco Velza who came into this race really as the series favorite. Gaps now coming back to Taylor Reed who could be caught by Ree Vanison on this one which could help the rest of the athletes swim their way up to Leman who’ll go into the water on his own. Riders managing to hang on to him. Vison who started the run two seconds behind this group of three is now in front and we continue on this run leg. We’ll go back to Adam and update. Adam, what have you got? Yeah, the shorts are being awarded here. Uh John Gore Layman has got it for stars and stripes. So that’s a big advantage to him in trying to get this title over the line. And Tim Don Brownley Racing has given it to Ian Penamp. Oh, no surprise there. Penacamp’s having a great race um on Tiboo as we said. Yeah. What what an incredible first Super Try race for the 24 year old. He he had a really solid performance in the world triathlete championship series in Khaliv Vari um just at the beginning of September and finished 11th there ninth at the European Championships. But you know you talked about athletes who come here and race for the first time and uh and it’s not easy but Ian Penamp at the at the moment racing for Brownley Racing having a brilliant debut here in Tuloo. He’s raced Super Try E but that’s an entirely different beast. Can’t wait for that one at the start of 2026. finished 10th uh in the finals there, the 24 year olds. He’s only really stepped up from he went straight from junior to elite racing back in 2023. And to be fair, to be fair to Panda, he actually raced as a junior in uh in Super Tri Jersey in 2018, you know, when we had those junior races. Absolutely. And a few athletes have done that. It’s great to see that. Yeah. Brilliant. So, All right, we’re back on to swim caps on and it’s now one, two, three. Stars and stripes thanks to Vanison. [Music] Out they come. Michael Gilliam waving not the white flag, just the white hat at the moment. And a slip there from John Leman. He’ll only lose a second or two, but that could be crucial. You can never sit up in this sort of racing. You really can’t because as we know it’s certainly not over until it’s over and there is normally some sort of drama in to lose but at the moment layman is up and back in the water. So the shorts won by Stars and Stripes and Brownley Racing going to Chongor Leman and to Ian Pennam and they are into the water after two stages of fast and frantic racing. For the final time here in Tulus with one swim bike and run to go. It is Stars and Stripes one and two. They’ve been together all day. Chong Leman with the short shoot in hand and Seth Ryder alongside him. 6 seconds then back to Reed Velasa Bannison and Batista. And it all is all set up for a championship showdown between Velasa and Lehman. Both of them with a win will win overall. And there are other athletes in with a shot, too. Taylor Reed with a slim mathematical chance. Ricardo Batista as well, but really it’s all about those two. Well, it is, but we can see there the costume, the race costume looks like to be Taylor Reed. Black and white podium there out in front pushing the pace. They’re they’re only a couple of body lengths off. So on this boy they might have a chance when the front two just slightly slow to get back onto the feets there of Seth Ryder and uh Chonga. It’s Seth Ryder who’s leading Chongalan on his feet at the moment. Very important second half of this last swim and they’re all the last will be relying on Reed to help drag them back up. It was 8 seconds. Looks like less now as Aurelian Gem also gets eliminated. Last part of the last swim and there’ll be a sigh of relief as Velasa gets sort of choked up on the second turnboy. Yeah, confirmation then. Jeem is the second athlete. So, two of the local athletes who’ve come in to podium and crown respectively, both eliminated and to make it to the last swim. Very, very uh solid effort from them. And Adam continues to bring us updates from down on the black carpet. Adam, really interesting there going through that transition there. The both Layman and Vasco Velar had a little slip there, but Vasco deliberately held back slightly to to follow Taylor Reed. He butted between him and Rhys Fannison very deliberately obviously to try and get this pull around the swim from Taylor Reed. Thanks Adam. It’s so good to have insights from the man with eyes on down there. And let’s get a look back there. And uh yeah, as it stands, we finish as you can see there from the left. Taylor Reed would vault himself up into third position overall if he did finish at the moment in third position in this race. And you know what, the person who I thought was going to be a real threat for the podium is overall in the overall series is John Reed. Um who is way back down the field now. He’s not going to feature I don’t really think today. So that gives Taylor Reed an opportunity to move up still. Alberto Gonzalez currently sitting in second obviously not racing because of injury. Sixth places Miss Lord took. He’s not here racing but this is giving Taylor Reed a real opportunity now. Although he has dropped off these two which is a bit disappointing. just left wanting slightly on that last run. Well, Ryder’s not going to figure in the overall. He hasn’t done the racing. Velas is going to come out of the water third. He needs to have the bike of his life if he is going to win this championship. It all comes down to this for Vasco Velasa who hasn’t been able to see Chongor Leman at all as he watches him get onto his bike. And now it is all about him. He’s not going to have anyone to work with. He’s had a better transition than everyone else. And he’s going to come around here hoping that Vanison will help him. And Vanison just keeps getting better and better in this one. Now 11 seconds back. Another great swim from Reese Vanison. He used to be a super runner. Now he’s a super triathlete who has just had two great swims at the back there. Velasa. Now he’s going to have Batista work with him hopefully. So the two stars and stripes athletes then Velasa, Vanison, Reed and Batista. Oh wow. This is amazing though from these two. They’ve got the gap that they needed early on, but Vanison, could he play a part in the overall podium? Well, not in the overall podium obviously of the series, but here today racing in to he could make it a stars and stripes podium lockout for the race. That would be a huge result for Reese Van and Parker Spencer. And you know what? I don’t think there’s a manager that deserves it more. Like as you were saying earlier on, Will, he puts his heart and soul into his team and he really deserves to have a big day in Super Try. It really hasn’t gone all his way this season, apart from that brilliant victory from Layman in Jersey a couple of weeks ago. I don’t know if you saw that, but Seth Ryder made the turn at the top, had a look back, saw Greece Vanison, his teammate, and just put the old arm out like, “Slow him down. Slow him down to try and block up the rest of the group, drag them up to us.” That’s what it’s all about. It’s team racing here. There are four teams and, you know, there are only three places on the podium and Stars and Stripes, we know, would love to jump ahead of Brownley Racing. I don’t know what the best result Seth Ryder has ever had, but I can confidently say that he has never been on the podium. Fifth. Fifth in London in 2024. There you go. Well, he is having the race of his life in Super Try. There’s no doubt. He won the bike league in 2021 in his debut uh year in Super Try. So, uh he really is showing us today what he’s made of. I’ve always thought that he’s underperformed considering the talent he that he has. But today, not only individually, but as part of a team here for Stars and Stripes Racing who really needed the points, he has really shown here. [Applause] Leman now with one hand on the championship. 13 seconds. So, it’s Balloon back out again after that swim. And instead of it being Velasa erasing the gaps with his bike handling skills, it’s actually been the other way around. These two working incredibly well together. Even having a little bit of a chat there, taking turns on the front and pushing that gap out. Batista can’t work together with these other two athletes in between. Cannot drag Velaser up. And I’m sure that’ll be frustrating Michael Gilliam. And when he’s frustrated, we like to talk to him. So, we’ve sent Adam over to talk to him right now. Michael, some incredible racing here. You’ve got you’ve got Batista up with Vasco. Can they reduce this gap and work together? It’s going to be tough now. Those two are on form at the front. I’m really happy for Parker actually because he’s worked so hard to try and let this day happen and it’s happening for him. We’re really got to try and consolidate that third. So, the two of them will work together. Let’s see if it works that way. I’m not too sure about it. Thanks, Michael. It wouldn’t be too sad. And I mean, obviously, Crown Racing, the defending champion, so used to winning, so used to being at the front of every race, but if they can come third and fourth, they’re still not going to leak too many points. And then it’s going to come down to where the other team members are. Although Vanison certainly going to pick up a lot. Harry Leu has now been eliminated as well for Brownley Racing after having a great early swim. It’s been tough since then for him. But at the front, two laps gone on the bike. Two laps to go and then a run home. And Lehman has been in supreme run forall. I mean, look at the effort on his face. I’ve never seen Well, all these athletes, I’ve taken nothing away from any of them. This is brutal racing. This is the toughest shortc course racing you will get in triathlon. And they all give 100%. But there’s something about Layman. He’s just out there. He’s absolutely on the gas the whole way through. It makes me feel better cuz I have the same face on the old my whoosh zone 2 ride. You know it’s that like shocked looking face. You know what will just we’ve got a little bit of an opportunity. Isn’t if nothing happens here that we need to come back to just a moment on the mass participation event this morning that took place here. Absolutely magnificent. A sellout event. It was. And you were second in your age group and 29th overall out of over 400 competitors. Will congratulations. 438 but who’s counting? Well, they said over 400, but yeah, I mean, no, that was a great race actually because there’s there’s great mass participation races alongside Super races around the world, and I’ve done them all this season. I have finished fifth, third, and second, so I’m getting better. I’m a little bit like an old old Matthysse Molu. You talk yourself down, but I tell you what, and I know you’ve got a world championship event coming up in a couple of weeks time. He did it again. Slow down. Slow down. Is that right? He’s telling this time he’s telling uh Jong, let’s not bin it now, pal. Let’s just ease our way around this bit. Tell you what, everyone’s been super solid. We haven’t had a single incident on the bike. I hate to say that. I don’t want to put the commentator curse on the commentator’s curse. Let’s not this this sound here. That’s me touching wood. But I think the athletes, they get the rain is coming down. Oh no, it’s going to be slippery out there now. And the women are coming up in about 15, 20 minutes as well. And they will not like to see that. But it’s starting to sprinkle. And there you can see it coming down, tipping down now. And these two, they’ve just got to stay upright and they could probably take one and two in this race. And you’ve got to think that Parker Spencer will be looking at the skies saying, why why is this happening to me now? Do you know what? They have such a decent gap that they don’t have to take any risks here. They really don’t. I mean, it’s it’s not huge, but with the way they’re both running, it’s big enough. So, really, what they’ve got to do is get round this last lap now in one piece because uh that’s uh what they’re going to need to do to get off the run and go for the overall victory. Um Cle’s dropped two seconds there. Yeah. So, Oh, the man goes down and this time it’s nobody wants to see that. He’s had such a great race. Batter is down. Oh, you hate to see it. The youngster from the US has slipped on those tiles. The same place we’ve seen so many people fall before. Taylor Reed was behind him as well. So, another crash for Taylor Reed after a couple of weeks ago uh in Jersey. Oh, yeah. I just hate to see it. Yeah, hate to see it, but I don’t know that it’s going to make too much difference in terms of the order that they’re in. Although, Velaser has now found himself all by the front. Here’s the replay on the right hand side of your screen. from Bison. Reed behind. Bennison loses it. Reed gets stuck. Stays on the bike and I think we’ll get that is horrible to see. So, oh, the back wheels just gone right out there. Just reminds me of um Cassandra BR in uh Japan earlier this year in the WTCS. Just got on the gas too early on the slate and just lost the back wheel. Oh man, they’re nearly home. They’re nearly home. These two out front though, incident free. Last lap, half a lap to go and a lot of it’s a nice long straight. It’s only a couple of corners left and they’ll have no idea of the chaos that is happening behind them. It looks like Vasco Bellaza sitting in third place has gone it alone, but he had Baptista, his teammate, uh not too far behind him, but we know that that crash has slowed up Reese Fannison and Taylor Reed. Vasco Velasa, to correct me if I’m wrong, was this a Stars and Stripes athlete last year. Uh, yes, he was. And Tim Hellwig second last year. So, it was Stars and Stripes 12 last year. And now Parker Spencer could have a Stars and Stripes one two this year with only 1.2 km to go. Looks like Blue Sky joining us again, which is good for the women. Ryder out first, then Leman. And can Seth Ryder win this one? Can he win a race? He’s never been on the podium. Leman’s probably the better runner. And now it’s a crown one two in terms of third and fourth in that pack with Batista missing that one. Marcus Day has been eliminated at the back after leading early on. The last is all by himself. For some reason running with his goggles on still doesn’t need those again. He’s not that wet. He’s not going to lose a second even if it means taking off his goggles, is he? He knows what he’s got to do. But I think it’s going to be very difficult now. The gap is big and it’s the hill he’s got to climb first. So that’s going to take even longer. But you know what? Chonga is not going to let Seth Ryder have this win. He’s really not. Seth Ryder slightly struggling now on the run. Not struggling, but he’s just dropped off ever so slightly and Reed is 40 seconds down. Just the worst. I I just I wish I felt like swearing. I’m sad for him. Didn’t do anything wrong there. And Reese Madison as well. Taylor Reed drops to sixth position. It’s handed Ricardo Batista and Vasco Velasa a third and fourth at the moment. So Batista is sitting very nicely, isn’t he, to take an overall third position in the series. Yeah, now he is actually because Batista and Reed were both on 22 points. So now Batista looks like he could take third overall. He’s on 22. So he’ll pick up 16 or 14 points, sorry, if he uh stays in fourth position. Velasa will be second. Leman will be first and Reed will be fourth overall at the moment as if that continues as it stands. Short shoot has been taken and it’ll be also taken by Penn. That’s the gap that the shortuit has created. And Seth Ryder, it looks like he’s going to have to settle for second. He’s got daylight behind him. Velasa is not going to be able to run that down, you would think. Although he finished very strong. You can see how gingerely they’re taking it down there as well. It’s steeper than it looks on television. It’s always those white bits of paint on the road that you’ve got to keep your eye out for because that’s where it gets really, really slippy. But look at the Hungarian athlete right racing for stars and stripes racing absolutely flying. Took a victory in Jersey. It was a bit unexpected I think the second place in Toronto in the first race of the series, but he’s wrapping this series up now in style. He certainly is. And Seth Ryder looks behind, has a little grin to himself, and he thinks, “I’m about to find myself on the podium.” He even has a chat with someone alongside him as they head along the bottom, which means we’re only one finishing straight away from a win here for Stars and Stripes. A one two lockout and a championship for Chongor Leman who has just been in supreme form in all formats over 2025. Seth Ryder will have his best ever. And Vasco Velasa, well, he’s in the position now that Hayden Wild was in last year, unable to catch up to the two stars and stripes athletes. The difference though for Velasa is that he’s got both shoes on unlike wild last year, but it is Chongor Leman. He is going to be not only your race winner, not only going back to back on the wins, but he is your championship winner as well. The Hungarian wins again. Jersey to lose and a title and stars and stripes. They go one two again here in toaster just could not catch up. He’ll finish second overall. Big hugs from Parker Spencer to Leman. He could not be happier with that. Only one incident and that handed Batista a fourth place and third overall in the championship at the expense of Taylor Reed and John Reed who had a difficult race. No one behind them for quite a long time. I think it’s going to be the debuton Ian Penamp, the Dutchman who finishes with a fifth on Doo, takes the short, gets himself home as the lead athlete from Brownley Racing. And he looks like he’s enjoyed his first day out on the big stage. Yeah, brilliant first outing for Penn. And here comes Taylor Reed. He’s going to have to settle for place. And it’s a disappointing day for him. It really is. and Lisa Madison who came off his bike just out of the uh transition from swim to bike. Reed came back with an eighth overall and Brownley has moved himself up into ninth. So Reed improved and Brownley hung on but he’s nearly a minute 20 back. A team owner from Brownley Racing and Reese Madison he’ll still be happy with that to be honest. He’s had one small incident this mar and otherwise excellent race. Roberto Sanchez, the third crown athlete to come in in 10th position. Solid solid performance there for from Sanchez. It really is. But I I wonder if Van will be kicking himself going what could have happened because I think when you look to that group as it was together, he potentially was even quicker than Baza on the run. But listen, they will there will be another race. There will be another day. Michael Buch hyping up the crowd as he does. You can see him there as he’s cheering back Matthysse Bolu home. The Canadian 21 years of age, he’s been in basically 11th for the second half of this race all by himself. And he crosses over and he’ll move up into I want to say sixth in the championship, maybe fifth. We’ll have a look at the points when they come out. Pat on the shoulder from Parker Spencer. He’ll be very, very happy with that. But the man they chased all day was Chongor Leman. And they just could not catch him. He stayed strong, didn’t worry about the issues happening behind him and continued to be the consistent athlete that he was needed to be to win the championship title. Oh, Vince, what an incredible race and what an incredible achievement from Jongo. You’ve tasted this before. You’ve won this title twice before. What does it feel like? Yeah, I know. It’s crazy. I mean, when you go down to the wire for the last race, obviously, uh, you got to you got to play your cards. And I think Shung was really strong lately. He’s strong on these distances. So, no, he was he was really good. Great racing. Honestly, he he like he did not let Vasco breathe at any time. And after a bad swim, I think Vasco was always on the back foot. But uh Vasco fought hard and I think by team they also like quite good crown racing. But yeah know definitely stars and stripe kudos to them. I think this is the only team finishing with four athletes. That says a lot. But yeah it’s uh it’s really good. And now under the women’s I hope I hope Georgia can have a bit of a of a go at at the title. Yeah. Well absolutely. And just really quickly does Chonga owe a beer or something to Seth Ryder tonight? Well we’ll see him. MG is happy enough with with second overall and if we can uh manage to pass podium because they had not the best day today on the men. So we’ll see how we can go. Yeah. Well, thanks very much Vince. Cheers. Thank you. Parker, what an incredible day for you. Amazing. And a word for Chongor and Seth up the top there. Oh man, Tulus is something special at least for our men. We went one two here last year. Just did it again. Seth told me right before this that he was going to have a good day, that he needed to have redemption on this course. He helped Shanzer win the whole series. Like I mean I’m I’m over the moon with that. And then Ree I I really think Reese would have been third, fourth if he wouldn’t have crashed right there. That was a huge huge day for him. He’s really struggled at the super tri format and the rest of the U23 guys racing in worlds in a few weeks. They should be scared of what they just saw. Yeah, an incredible day. And you’ve narrowed that gap to Brownley. It’s really on now, isn’t it? It is. I need my girls to show up just like the boys and then we’ll keep that third spot and make sure that we’re on the podium at the end of all this. Well, thanks Parker. Congratulations. Thank you. Well, we are going to see confirmation of the team’s points after the U podium a little bit later on. But first of all, let’s have a look at the race. And first of all, Marcus Day was just on absolute fire. He had a Cassandra Bog Granlike swim. Came out with about 12 lengths behind him and picked up the first short for Brownley Racing. But then Stars and Stripes started to take control of the front. And as Vincent Lewis said, Chong Leman did not let Vasco Velasa breathe. He had a a difficult first swim and Lehman continued to look behind him and make sure that the gap was always there. It closed to within 3 or 4 seconds. It ballooned back out to 14 or 16 seconds. These three worked at the front for quite a long time. Leman, Ryder, and Reed. And the group behind continued to push and push. That was about as close as they got in the third swim, but these two were just supreme on the bike. Then there was the crash from Vanison who was just behind Velaser in fourth at the time. That cruel Taylor Reed’s race again and it left these two out the front. Leman taking the win two weeks ago taking the win again here and taking the championship title. Batista in fourth overall and that will help him as well. Race results a confirmation of it as the sun shines again here in Tuloo. We’ll get the race results in just a tick. And Leman was right out the front. 7 seconds in the end. It was Velasa 14 seconds back, which is basically where he was the entire time. Ricardo Batista gets fourth. Penacamp with a great result. Reed unfortunate to finish sixth with Bennison seventh. And then John Reed got better during the race to finish in 116 back. We’ll head down now to the presentations and stars and stripes as they were last year. One and two. [Music] In third place from Portugal representing Crop Racing, Vasco Vacha. Pasco Valasa handed his medal from Kristoff Deah region Oxatani counselor and haven’t they been just a fantastic supporter representing this race over the last four years. Seth Ryder from his best being fifth to sitting second and having a chance to win it all. A big rice from the American. And in first place and Sumatry Tulus champion from representing Stars and Stri Leman. [Applause] A watershed season for John Leman takes another step forward. [Music] [Applause] He’s handled those pre-race nerves with a flamm with a maturity beyond his years to make sure that Basco Velasa did not have a chance at any point to take it away from him. And Velasa finishes second overall. A one and two for stars and stripes on the day. Here are the league standings. A confirmation of extra points on offer for to lose. Leman jumps out to in the end a six-point lead from Velasa. Ricardo Batista jumped himself up from sixth into third with 14 points and Taylor Reed moved from fifth to fourth. John Reed on the other hand moved from fourth to fifth. So, the two podium athletes swapping positions. Alberto Gonzalez injured on this one and Matis Bolu finishes with six points to go, 24. [Music] What a season it has been though for Chongor Leman. He came back for the first time in four seasons, I think it was, in Toronto and finished behind Alex Yei. There’s no shame in that whatsoever on that day. He missed the race in Chicago. Came back for Jersey and went one better. Him and Velasa fought the whole way through. He ran away from Velasa at the end there. And that in the end would prove the difference as he adds another win here to go back to back and end on 49 points. Chong, many Chong, many congratulations there. What an incredible day for you. Awesome, man. I’m so I’m almost speechless. It was just crazy from the beginning till the till the end. We were like working perfectly with set. It was just a dream team. We were working very well on the swim, on the bike, and on the run as well. It was just perfect. I’m I’m just to the moon and back. I can’t really say anything. This is like a dream coming true. Like now it’s reality. I could win the series. I’m just so happy and I can’t really say anything right now. And a and a big thank you to Seth as well. He did some serious work there, didn’t he? Yeah, I mean it was a really really tough race. We pushed so hard on the first round to have some get to the other guys, but then we managed to have some some seconds between us and from that we we didn’t look back. We just push all the way till the end and it worked out very well. Like starts and drives was rocking today. Thank you very much, Chong. Many congratulations and let’s let’s bring in Vasco here. Vasco. Vasco Chongor today and Stars and Chongor and Stars and Stripes in particular just so strong out there. Yeah, indeed. I mean, they they really worked so well as a team. It was really hard for me seeing Seth in the front uh together with Chonger helping each other. I had to do the work by myself. Didn’t get that much help. I kind of feel like I kept the same gap the whole time. We had around 10 seconds. Uh I did my best. So I just really congratul for the title. Incredible. And I also really really happy to see Seth come here. Put on such a good performance helping his team so well. Really good to see. Thank you Vasco. And still many congratulations on second. That’s a huge achievement. Well done to you. Thank you so much. Yep. Thank you. And let’s bring in your teammate here, Ricardo. Well, I just had the lovely moment, Ricardo, where I got to tell you finished third in the series and you didn’t know. Well, congratulations. How are you feeling? Yeah, I’m feeling amazing. like I was not expecting to finish third in the series. I think I had no podium dur during all the season, but uh I had a couple good good finishes and it’s really nice to finish on the on the podium on my first super tri season and uh I’m really looking forward to the next year and maybe stepping up on the podium. So, I’m still really surprised and I’m really happy for it. Well, many congratulations. A fantastic achievement from you. Just shows what consistency can do over the season. Well done. Yeah, thank you very much. See you next year. What a happy man. I love that. Well done, Ricardo Batista. Have a look at this though. Podium racing at the moment took only 28 points from that race and the gap has gone from 40 points to 20 points. So all the pressure on podium for the women’s race. Meanwhile, Stars and Stripes have leaprogged Brownley Racing and are two points ahead in the race for the team’s podium. So, it is all up for grabs and the women’s racing is only minutes away. Well, they’ll hope the sun keeps shining as the women start to warm up. There is Jimea Deena who actually raced here a couple of years ago or raced Super Tribe, but she was only 16 at the time. He’s only 18 now. She joined Stars and Stripes and Parker Spencer having some words with her Rosa Tapia, but also Nina, who’s had a disappointing season as someone who’s been super consistent. She’s had a crash. She’s had some bad results. And there is Georgia Taylor Brown who has won three times the overall title and is in contention for this one, but she’s three points back. So, she needs things to go her way. She needs to win first of all and then hope someone can jump in between her and John Leair and Leani Pererryio as well. So mathematically set up with four women who can potentially win it. Annie Emerson, Laair, Perio, Taylor Brown, and Veron. Well, it’s looking good for Laare, but we know she’s had a couple of bad races here in Tuloo. So let’s see what can happen today. A reminder then of the leaderboard after three rounds. Jean Leair has gone back to back in Chicago and Jersey. But and we’ll get into what’s happened to her to lose before a little bit later on. Leon Perio has had two second place in so she’s two points back. Both of those athletes can win with a win. Taylor Brown and Jolian the winner from Toronto on the VU also have a very realistic chance of this going their way. And Fanny Zai has an outside chance. She’ll be looking for a podium. Those four, they are the contenders. Georgia Taylor Brown, she is the three-time champion. One of the great triathletes of modern time, very best in the world. But Men hits the front. Can’t say enough good things about her. She’s going to be a force across the season. Not many picked for this one in such a class field. She has dominated in this one. The only perio moves right into championship contention. The toughest short racing there is in triath. Her run saves her yet again. Another second placing. John Leair will lead into the grand final. She’s got one hand on the championship, but she does it here in Jersey and it’s all about to lose now. Jean, you’ve had a few tough times in your home race in to lose. How are you feeling leading the league going into the grand final today? Yeah, I mean, yeah, I’m still a bit kind of stressed. I know it’s not because last year was bad and last year was bad too that it mean it will be bad this time but I cannot stop thinking that maybe something will happen. So I will take it step by step and uh for sure I would like to win. So I will do everything I can to to win but I’m like we never know. So and your biggest rival here second place is also your podium racing teammate Leoni Perio. Is this the day that the podium racing team unity has to go out the window a little bit? Yeah, I mean I guess like the best will be to go together until the end and just uh yeah on the last run lap make the difference and uh yeah I mean I think we both want to win but we as well both want to win the for the team. So yeah let let’s see but first me if I can finish the race will be a huge improvement so I will already take it. Well best of luck Jean we wish you all the best. A to lose local and the pressure is on Jean Leair. Let’s have a look at how they line up in the women’s race, which is very, very soon. Nina, as we said, crashed in Toronto, only took five points in Jersey. The 2022 European Sprint Champ will want more. Any Cox back again, World Cup winner. Rose Aapia also a World Cup winner. And Yumina Deopena, the 18-year-old USA National Junior Champion. Brownley Racing. Jess Fuller comes back. She was seventh in her only race in Toronto. The 25-year-old Jolian Vermillan, the uh Toronto race winner. sure is a title contender. Vanny Zalai wants another podium after that one in Chicago and Eva Gooderson debuted in Chicago where she was 15th. The Kiwi Crown Racing Miriam Casillas is back. She’s done the whole series. The three-time Olympian 33 years of age. Her job is going to be hold up the rest of the the pack on the bike and try to get Georgia Taylor Brown away in the race for her fourth title. Aspen Anderson and Elena Polart on Deu 18 years old and 22 years old respectively and podium racing is led by the two who lead overall. Jean Leair, two-time race winner, has some sad memories of to lose in the last two years. Leon Perio has had two second places. She has a supreme run. Susanna Michelitzka, the super swimmer, it’ll be interesting to see what John Anthony has in store for her. Let’s hear from him now. John, you started the day with a 40point gap on Crown. It’s been half to 20 points after the men’s race. How are the nerves? I think we’re fine. Um, Super Try is dynamic. It’s fast. It’s really hard to predict, right? And we came into this race, we have we have a plan, we’ve run some scenarios. I’ll be honest, this wasn’t one of them, but things happen, right? Dorian flatted, he was out. John Reed didn’t have the race that he wanted. We’re down by 20, but our women need to execute the plan. We have a plan, and Crown needs to bring the racing to us. We don’t need to bring the racing to them, and that’s our strategy. And you you have two uh rivals at the top of the championship, both on your team today. You need them both to stay upright here and not get too caught up in the fight, really. Yeah, that’s the most important thing, right? I’m not concerned about where they finish in terms of that individual rivalry. I am concerned about them keeping the rubber side down and racing a smart race and letting Crown bring the race to us. That’s our tactic. Thanks very much, John. Best of luck. Thank you. Yeah, the plan from John Anthony, he wrote it to me. He said, “We only care about Crown. Let the other teams do the work if we’re racing Crown. He wants Susanna Malichkava to She’ll line up in the leftmost position. They’re on the outside and she needs to push hard left across and try to drag the rest with her. She’s the super swim up.” He says the ramp straight out of transition. The best area to attack as well. 20 m 20 seconds, sorry, to race start. So much anticipation for the last Fortnite for this one. Crown on the inside, podium on the outside. Let’s see if Crown can make the whole shot work. The last race of 2025. Let’s get it on. Solid even start now. And Crown on the right hand side. Georgia Taylor Brown will be hoping for a better swim than she’s had in recent times. took some time away from the sport and it’s certainly shown in her swimming if not in the other areas of her racing. And someone out the front there for Crown who’s doing a pretty solid job alongside one of the Brownley athletes. Yeah, it’s uh it’s a tough starting position that the Crown have had. We saw it in the men’s race and I think the managers thought it was the best line to take, but let’s have a look and see what happens. got another 100 meters before they or a little bit less now before they hit that first boy. But the pressure is on GTB today because really looking at Crown Racing, Miriam Miriam Gasillas um will race well for sure. She will pick up some points, but they’ve got a couple of new athletes making their Super Tri debut uh here in Duth. So the pressure really on Georgia Taylor Brown to pick up the points for Crown Racing today. Do you think so though? cuz I mean she’s not in she’s not leading so she people are not really expecting her to be able to Yeah, but she she’s the underdog for this one. Yeah, but in terms of the points that Crown need perhaps as well. Oh, they definitely need the points. There’s no question about that. So, the pressure is on GTV to pick up the points for her team particularly when we look at podium racing who are so strong in the women. They by far have the strongest team here today with Yan Leair, Susanna Malakova who’s improved from race on race. lie out the front though. It’s Fanny Salai. Fanny Salai leading to the first boy. She’s gotten better and better in the water over the course of the season and she she is amazing in the water. I marked her down as being one of the leaders here today. I chatted with her. She’s changed her swim coach and I tell you what, it has made so much different. The other athlete to look out for is Jolene Vermillain as well and Mikaova as well as is the other swimmer I think we should be looking out for here. Well, there’s three Brownley athletes up the front and that’s Georgia Taylor Brown who’s fighting with one of them in second position as we’ll go back down now to Adam Leech as he does giving us an update from the black carpet. Well, I’m joined here by Vincent Lewis again and uh more than an interested observer in this race with your partner Georgia Taylor Brown competing today and trying to win an incredible fourth Super Tri League title. How is she feeling coming into this? What kind of form? What does she need to do? Yeah, well, she’s a bit running on fumes. It’s her seventh race in seven weeks, so I guess yeah, it’s it’s the end of a big racing block, but uh yeah, I think she’s good. If the weather stay like it is now, sunny, I think she will be she will be able to attack the bike and and and take advantage of the technical bits. But yeah, it’s definitely a manua with her and and Jean, but she’s in good position now the after the swim. So, let’s see what how the day unfolds. But yeah, definitely she’s keen to get on the title. Thanks, Vince. Thank you. I think it’s advantage crown or and George Taylor Brown at the moment. I don’t see a podium athlete anywhere in the top. Is that a podium position? And I’m not sure if that’s Mikuela or if it is the hair. I think it’ll be Mitchkov. She’s got that that stroke. That’s um looks like the the Slovakian. This is a good swim from GTB though. Oh, it is definitely a good swim. She’s been coming out in 14th or 15th position in recent times. But the cold water here in Too’s obviously doing her very well with Fanny Zai though is going to take out the swim like Marcus Day did with Brownley racing about an hour ago. Zaya 17year-old is out first. Ava Gerson is out second. Then Georgia Taylor Brown was Laareer and Misgirl were together. Didn’t see Leair there earlier. There’s Goodison. There’s Taylor Brown. Then there’s Leair, then Vermean, then Miklitzkava, and then Alden. So, three of the contenders in the top seven in the swim. Let’s see who takes the short first. Is it going to be Zai? Yes, it is. She does the job. She picks one up at Brownley Racing just as Marcus Day did, although under a little bit more pressure than Day was to cross that line. Then the hair and Taylor Brown, Goodison, Valen, Malitzka 5 seconds back, Anakah Sophie Alden. So had a good uh transition there. Alden Perio is your other major contender and Fuliger your top 10. There is so much happening here isn’t that there is so much to pay for in this final race. Not just for this race but for the overall standing and of course very vital team points. Speaking of team points, Polart and Anderson are the two from Crown Racing who need to do better than where they are now. 22 seconds back in the first swim. [Applause] So, it’s going to be interesting to see what Leonique Perio does to uh pull back that deficit. We know what a strong cyclist she is, but really in contention certainly for a podium finish, but uh she could chase Yan Laair down for the overall victory if she has a great race here and Yan doesn’t. I think the pressure will be on Yan Laair. She’s had a DQ here for not doing up her bike helmet. She’s had a puncture here before and she’ll come in here as she said, “I just want to finish today. Forget everything else. I want to finish on home soil.” She now races from Luxembourg, but this is her hometown. It is. And Michael Gilliam has asked Miriam Casillas to get in front of the pack that is chasing Taylor Brown and block them as much as possible. Unfortunately for them, Laair is not in that pack. She’s all on her own in second, but Casillas has moved to the front of the chasing pack behind these three. is attempting to. Anyway, we don’t see her there. She’s there. She is there in the back of screen. So, she needs to get in front of as many athletes as possible. Perio hopefully included. And there she is. Leone Perio behind Alden with Tapia behind along the side to all the stars and stripes athletes. And there’s Nina as well who just hasn’t had the season that she’d want to have. So, at the moment, it’s working out for Michael Gilliam in terms of the race win. And Taylor Brown’s looking behind her thinking, do I need to do all this by myself? I’ve done it before. Should I do it again? She likes the gap, I think. I mean, they’re close, but if she attacks this climb now, we’ve seen her do it before in super dry racing where she goes off the front early on. And this is a really good start for GTB. It really is. Was one, two, three in Chicago. They’re the same down there in this one. And Tim Don will be happy for Fanny’s lie. Tim, that was a tough men’s race for family racing there, wasn’t it? And starting strike just overtook you. This is looking good in the women’s and you’ve got Jolian still contending for the title. Yeah, that’s right. I mean, you know, it’s racing. You as I said before, the teamwork was fantastic from Stars and Stripes. We’re going to hope hopefully replicate that to jump back ahead of them now. Still early days, but we got some extra points with first and second out the water. Thanks, Tim. If you looked at those positions, third, fourth, fifth, and seventh for Brownley, whereas the best place stars and stripes athlete was in ninth. So, at the moment, there’s only two points between them. Brownley back in the box seat. Oh, he certainly is. I tell you what’s happening on this course here. And Georgia Taylor Brown, I have to say, is one of the technically best cyclists that there is in triathlon over this style of course. And she doesn’t mind a little bit of wet. She doesn’t mind it twisty turny. She doesn’t mind it if it gets technical. And that’s where she’s getting the gap. If you watch her descent now down this tricky little short descent, she’s a lot quicker than Yan Laair and Fanny Salai are. That gap just going further and further. There was a bit of a moment there maybe from Taylor Brown. It got very quiet very quickly, but the gap is probably double what it was in the previous lap. So, we’ll see if she continues to put more time into Jean Leair. Probably hasn’t quite got the run that Leair has. Leair seems to have the kick to outdo everybody else in season 2025. And fair play to Goodison and Casillas. They have moved up onto the back of that chasing pack. So there’s a group of four now working together and we’ve seen that being a pretty good number. And speaking of good numbers, look at that. Threetime Olympic medalist, three time Super Tri League champion and third. So three threes there for Georgia Taylor Brown. She’ll be hoping to do better than that in Jersey. What happened in Jersey here in Toicon Luis there on the course. He’s gone to the quiet section f further away so he can shout out time references to GTB uh to give her an idea of what the gap is. Someone at the back there just as you were talking there having the issue coming down through the roller coaster section as up the hill goes Anaka in 12 behind Deopena the 18year-old. Yeah, we’ll get a replay in just a second of what happened at the back there. And that is a crash for I think Aspen Anderson. It’s a crown racing athlete. We know that in the red. Disappointing for the the young Aussie. I think it was Anderson because I saw Elena Pol um the 22-year-old who came in late yesterday as the fourth athlete for Crown. She was on the timing sheets, but I didn’t see Anderson. So the gap a little smaller now as these athletes can work together. Casillas as is her job has moved upwards in front of the championship contenders behind her and will look to try and block as much as possible. She can let Puliger go. Well, what is interesting here is Jessica Figer, I don’t know if you remember, but back in 2024, so 12 months ago, Jessica Fer finished fourth here in Tuls and had an absolutely exceptional ride along with GTB. She’s a really strong cyclist and I think if GTB had looked over her shoulder and wanted to see one athlete chasing her down, it wouldn’t have been Jessica Fuller. She’s going to do this entire bike on her own. Fuller. Yeah, as you say, is a fantastic cyclist. Casillas, then Leair, then Zai, then Tapia, and Perio Malichka are your top eight. And Anika just gangling off the back. Yeah, the the athletes, two German athletes racing for Stars and Stripes Racing. Anak Quil and Nina, really strong athletes, but just some of them haven’t quite find found the form that they need to race this style of racing. And they really are red lining. You need to go into a completely different energy system. Taylor Brown’s gap has completely evaporated now. So, I’m not sure whether she’s gone easy and let them come back to her knowing that she didn’t want to get into that second swim all by herself. Well, we’ve got a run to go obviously, but I wonder whether she just came off a little bit and waited for everybody rather than do this entire thing on her own knowing that it’s going to drain her too much. As as Vincent said, she’s at the back of a seven straight week block of racing. Want to be a little bit more tactical or whether Jess Pulig has just had a huge bike and drag everyone straight back up to her. Yeah, exactly. There’s a little bit of a gap here. Uh the only perio is at the back of this group behind Fanny Salai and we can see there it’s only a couple of bike lengths but it could be significant although of course they have the tough run to come before they start the next triathlon but uh GTB on the front here and it’s two crown athletes in there two podium rate athletes one stars and stripes and one brownly the one under pressure there is van in terms of the championship contender Enders and Crown Racing will know they very much need to win this second short. Brownley Racing have got one. They want to make sure that Podium Racing do not get one. And that’s probably one of the questions Adam Leechel put to Michael Gilliam. Now Michael, we’ve seen Georgia flex her muscles and and break away there. Is that a deliberate tactic to then let let them come back a little bit and share the work? Yeah, she will have to. Now we we thought let’s lay it down on the first one and let’s see how it goes. We stretched it out but then the group formed a nice group of four which is the ideal number and that’s brought her back. So now we’ll shut down again and we’ll save it for the last one and see if it can come good then. Mia’s been doing her job sitting in not doing too much work. So maybe thanks Michael. Interesting tackle there from Taylor Brown who’s let Fooliger come into transition first which might deny Crown a short. We’ll see who has the better transition. Fuller goes in real well rear wheel first which takes a little bit longer as does Taylor Brown. And the question is who can get across the mount line first and it’s going to be Jess Bulliger who’s stolen one on Taylor Brown. Make sure the crown do not get the second short. And now the question is who comes across the dismount line first in the run. Can Taylor Brown come back past? Can Leair come back past or can Brownley lock out the shorts and make it an even fight for the contenders for the championship? I don’t think Puler will probably have the run legs to keep away from Leair and Taylor Brown, but stranger things have happened. Well, they have and she’s always improving on the run. She knows that’s the area really where she most needs to uh work in super try. Had a pretty solid season so far. seventh in Toronto and we can just see that gone straight past Taylor Brown has Jean Leair and there’s been no real answer there. There’s a tiny little gap already between them. So Leair has been the class runner of 2025. She’s gone straight past Taylor Brown in the first 400 meters of this run. I don’t think she’s got an answer to Taylor Brown. She’ll find something. She’ll find something. As a as a partner Vansson Louise said, she’s running on fumes. But sometimes it can work in an athletes favor when they’ve really run themselves into some decent racing fitness. But you are right there, Will. And it does look like GTP at the moment just slightly struggling this on this run. She won’t want the athletes to get much of a gap. But Yan Lehen is starting to pull away from her now. And Jessica Fuller just managing to stick with Leair. Perio’s having a good run too and dragging Valen up into this behind Zai. So, Valen’s had a good last lap of that bike and a good transition to put herself up into the conversation a little bit more. So, we have all of our podium uh championship contenders in first, third, fourth, and sixth in this group of six with Buligar and Zalai in there as well. And this is what you want to see in a grand final race, isn’t it? The end of the season and all the top contenders still up there. Leair though having the best run so far. Perio challenging her for that. And then Zelai and Veron down the hill they go. And one of the lightest and slightest athletes, Leair just hammering down the hill. Meanwhile, Nina, she must have had some kind of an issue. She’s a former European sprint champion and she’s been eliminated. So her miserable super try season continues and Perio’s probably the well she fastest runner I think up there with Laair in this field has caught up to and now looks to have gone past Georgia Taylor Brown and the gap Fuller’s having a great run and the gap between the top two and the second two is not nothing. So it is not nothing. It is a big gap. But uh GTB and uh and Leoni Perio have Fanny Salai not too far behind and Yolene Burmelain as well is up there. Perhaps they can work together. But at the moment Jess Fuller and Yale could potentially be dangerous. They both go well on the bike. Jess Fuller so technically apt on the bike. She really is. I’ve got a feeling that these six might come back together in the water. Well, I think they will, but I tell you what, Brownley Racing will be very happy. They got three in the top six and John Anthony will be highly relieved with first and third at the moment after seeing his team’s gap cut in half. Leair, well, she’s going to pick up the last short and I’ll be very surprised if she doesn’t get it when the manager John Anthony hands it out. So, short goes to podium racing. Nothing for Crown again. They completely miss out on the short shoots into lose. Into the water they go in for the second of three times and it’s Laair and Fuller together followed by Taylor Brown who manages to get into the water ahead of Leoni Perio. And then the pair of Jolie and Valan and Fanny Zai should hit the water any second. And there they are together. And let’s see if Zai can drag Veron back up into championship contention after what was a great swim in the opening swim just a little while ago. Don’t forget Vermillin is a really decent swimmer as well. Fanny Salai was exceptional in the first swim leg, but Jolene Vermillin as well in her own right is a really good swimmer. So I do expect these all to come back together again. I think it’s Leon Perry who’s just struggling to get on the feet of George Taylor Brown. It’s a tricky swim here. We can see the water just pulling towards us on the screen because that’s where the current is. Taylor Brown’s having a good swim. She might maybe not quite get up to get the hole shot into the turn on the lefthand boy the first, but she’s certainly pushing up that way. Leair is having a good swim making Fuller come with her. And you’re right, there’s a gap back to then Pirio Zai and then Ven was 11 seconds between I’m not sure it’s still 11 seconds as Zai now tacks onto the back of Leoni Pirio’s feet. That will help her. It’s unbelievably technical this swim here. It’s ridiculous when you think it’s only around about 100 meters from where they dive into the first boy. But I think the current is tricky here and it’s difficult to position yourself. And we can see now this uh little group coming back together again. Now Fanny Salai really fighting through the water. She can see the feet of Georgia Taylor Brown just up ahead of her. Leair Fuller Taylor Brown. Meanwhile, the first crown athlete has been eliminated. Aspen Anderson didn’t make it into the water the second time, which is disappointing for her. We’re going to head back down now to Adam Leachch who’s got an update for us from down in transition. Adam, a bit of drama down here in transition. When John Leair came in, she was shouting to her manager, John Anthony, there’s a problem with her bike. There’s a problem with her bike. They’ve called in the bike mechanic who’s having a good look. It looks like he’s probably going to give it the all clear, but she’s obviously concerned that there’s something wrong there somewhere. Okay, thanks for the update. And uh Graeme, our bike mechanic, I mean, if if if he can’t fix it, it’s not able to be fixed. He’s very quick. If he there’s nothing he doesn’t know about bikes. I tell you what, Graeme is an absolute demon. Yeah. So, he will get it sorted. You wonder, is she slightly paranoid? I mean, listen, she’s got loads of experience, but she just knows. Is paranoid. She is paranoid. Well, why not? I mean, a disqualification for a a helmet that came unbuckled when she was right in contention two years ago and then a puncture as well. And honestly, when you’re at home, you’re racing in front of your family and friends, all the pressure, the championship on the line, and you just it’s just when you think about, you just overthink it. Things go wrong. The more you think about it, the more likely it is to happen. And at the moment though, everything is going Jean Leair’s way. She’s leading this one. Fuller’s not helping her out too much by swimming on swimming on her hip. So Taylor Brown will be happy for that because it can slow you down a little bit when someone’s swimming right on your hip like that and Taylor Brown’s come back into it and then you know almost throw a blanket over them. Was 11 seconds when they got in the water. We see it time and time again. The entire gap gets erased in the second swim. Looking at the athletes now exiting the water all tightly bunched together. So we’ve got a little group of six again together. This is really the most crucial part in Super Troy racing because we see athletes bunch together and all of a sudden you make one small mistake in transition and that’s it. It’s game over. You’ve lost time and you’ve lost the wheel in front of you. All you can hear the entire weekend when you race here in Lulu is alle like if Ali Brownley was here and think he was the most popular guy on the course. Everyone’s just Ali Ali Ali Ali the whole time. Fuller out. He’s had a good transition. Jessica can have a little Seth Ryder moment, I think, here in this one. Oh no. And Taylor Brown’s just messed up the flying mount. That’s going to hurt her. She needs to have a good bike. And now she has a really, really slow start up this hill. That’s what I said. You make one tiny mistake and they are gone. I tell you what, and you start with the climb and that’s where you lose time. If you’re fidgeting around with your bike, you’re not quite on it properly. Fanny Salai at the back of this group of six. Perio is up there as well. So, all on the bike, but let’s see what they do here cuz I’ve got a feeling that these three athletes out in front are not going to want to hang around. Well, the mail who’s had a great swim actually. I thought it was a lie in front. It was a mail in front in terms of the two Brownley athletes that started off that swim at the back. She’ll be looking at Jess Fooliger and saying, “Drag me to the front, please.” She’s a fantastic biker, Jess Fuller. And tucked in right behind is Jolian Veron, the 31-year-old Belgian who took the win on Doo in Toronto. then Taylor Brown, then Perio, and then Zai. So, all of our championship contenders are second, third, fourth, and fifth on your timing sheets right now. And a huge gap back to Ava Gooderson who’s in seventh and a great seventh, too. Miriam Casillas has dropped right back. And Stars and Stripes, well, they’re not having the race they had in the men’s, 10th, 11th, 13th, and an elimination. It was always going to be tough for them for Stars and Stripes racing in the women’s event. They have a pretty I was going to say inexperienced but the German athletes haven’t raced well and uh Jimemena de la Pena as well so young only 18 years of age and Roso Tapia very strong but uh not really suiting or really enjoying this course so a bit of a break now between our six uh athletes out in front gap between the front three and the second three and it’s Perio who needs to drag them back up. Brownley right in the box seat though. So we’ll head back down now to Tim Dawn. He’s with Adam Leech and he’ll be happy right now. Tim, that was a huge huge move from Jolene in that swim there. She’s got herself right in it. And you’ve got the short shoe tucked in your back pocky at the moment which I’m suggesting may go to her. Absolutely. I think Jolene always takes a bit of time to warm up and the water is very cold for her. Now she’s in a rhythm, but still the way Jessica’s riding is going to be a really hard task to stay with her. We’re trying to capitalize on team points here and Jolene’s always about the team. So yeah, if she can get the win overall that’s fantastic, but she’s really in it for Brownley Racing. Thanks, Tim. Okay, so this is the championship points scenario. So Jean Leair and Leoni Perio with a win can win it all because they are two points apart and there’s 20 points on offer and 18th of the second. Georgia Taylor Brown and Jolian need to finish one place ahead of Perio. So second to third, third to fourth, etc. And two places ahead of Laair to win. Zalai is a mathematical outside chance, but she needs to win and for Leair to finish fifth. And George Taylor Brown, Perryio, and Jolly all to finish fourth or lower. So essentially, she’d be looking at trying to get a race podium. That would be her primary goal at this point. the 17year-old in sixth position at the moment. But Leair and Perio, the two podium athletes, are the only ones who have this in their own hands. Oh wow. If they start finishing third, fourth, fifth, and sixth or something, I’ve got no idea. We’ll just have to wait for someone smarter than me to sort out. I’m going to test you on that all in a minute in 5 seconds when you haven’t got your sheet of paper in front of you. for me just dangling off the back of that group of two at the front. Fuller really pushing the pace and Laare trying to stay in her draft zone. It’s a bit harder going for Valen to do that. Taylor Brown really pushing it and now it’s the lie under pressure at the back of this group. Needs to stay in touch with those two in front of her if she’s going to get dragged back in. There’s only we’re only in the second lap of this second bike, so there’s still plenty to go. And now Leair takes a turn at the front. Trying to put more time into Taylor Brown. She knows she’s got to cover it in the run, but she knows how good Taylor Brown is on the bike. And they’re probably not thinking enough about Leoni Pererryio and Jolian because Taylor Brown’s done this so many times that you think about them a little bit more. So Elena Polart, the 22-year-old who won the Alware Sprint race not too long ago. That’s a a big race in terms of prestige and won the overall but won the sprint version. Comes in late at 20 I think she’s only 20 maybe 22 very young still and uh has found the going a little tough but making it to the second bike is no mean feat with these women at the front pushing it so hard of course eliminated by virtue of the 92 rule. I tell you what I’m impressed with the hair’s riding. We know that technically she uh openly admits herself she doesn’t like it when it gets a bit tricky and technical, but she looks really really easy on the bike at the moment considering the effort. They’re absolutely flat out. And the recently crowned European champion Jolene Vermlain, you can see by the look on her face, she’s absolutely hanging. She’s giving it 100% to make sure she stays with these two lead athletes. But Yonair Georgia Taylor Brown have worked really hard to pull back that deficit. Banny Salai just sitting on the back doing an absolute brilliant job, but I don’t think she’s got anything left in the tank to offer at the moment in terms of being able to take a turn on this bike. Well, I think they’re all pushing so hard that no one can really get ahead of anyone. And it’s a very technical tricky course as well, but you’re right. Zai’s been hanging on the back, which isn’t, you know, a bad thing to do if as long as you can stay in touch. They had a trouble as well. All right. Yeah, that’s exactly right. We’ve having said that, you know, Taylor Reed was sitting in the back there and got held up by Reese Vison and cost himself a podium. So, the best place to be is right at the front or maybe first wheel to not get to limit the amount of work that you have to do, but limit the amount of people who can crash in front of you as well. Absolutely. I tell you what, Fanny Salai though, I think we forget now. We’re so used to seeing her on the Super Try Circuit. Firstly, she raced at the age of 15 in the esport racing and got a third place finish in Switzerland there. And she’s been racing now a couple of years and just going from strength to strength, but still just 17 years of age. Tell you what, if you were racing in the world championships, like the junior world championships, which is coming up in 10 days time, you’d be a bit worried about Fanny’s lie. And not just that, Aspen Anderson also be racing in that one. uh Yumina De La Pena but the form athlete is Delia who’s sitting behind uh Olympic medalists world champions etc etc in that group at 17 years of age so now Perryio on the front fuler in behind two podium athletes in the top three the sole athlete in red Georgia Taylor Brown carrying the hopes of crown racing and bar rain victorious who are used to winning in this format and across all sorts of formats haven’t seen as much of the top step in 2025 Five. But Lion Perry at 34 years of age just looking so easy on her bike. She hasn’t been off the podium in her last three Super Try Racing. And I think all being well today, it’s going to be another podium finish for Yandere, but this is Super Try Racing and anything can happen. And we’re only halfway through. So twice the age of salon. Don’t say that. Oh wow. Yes. So she is. Took that entire sentence you said for me to add up 17* 2. I know. Amazing. 34. There you go. And I got it right. That’s incredible. I tell you what, another bit of information. You’re going to love this one, Will Mclo, because we have never seen a non-British uh female athlete on the podium overall series. Oh, no. In to lose ever before. We had Georgia Taylor Brown in 2024, Kate Wolf in 2023, and Georgia Taylor Brown in 2022. So, winners in other say Yeah, forget about the series. Winners in to lose. So excited to give us that stat. I just got carried away with myself there, didn’t I? But I get it. Human win here all the time. They win all the time. All the time we’re back. Fourth time we come back. And will that happen again? That’s the question. We got Fuller and Taylor Brown in this group. And then of course the French former Leon Pererryio, the Luxembourg athlete who actually lives here in Tulu, Jean Leair, Jolli from Belgium, and the Hungarian Fanny Salai. So you have the United Nations out here, five nationalities, three teams and six athletes. And in they go to transition again. Again, it’s rear wheel first. Faster to get the bike out that way. Fuller doesn’t worry about that. Oh, sorry for Men and her bikes hit the deck as well. So that’s going to cost her for Men and also the same things happen to almost all the athletes of all their bikes have been falling over. The managers can’t touch them and put them back up there. So that’s going to cost the time at the moment. At the back is the two Brownley athletes or two of the three with Fuller tucked in behind Leair. Taylor Brown two seconds back and this run is crucial. It is so crucial. It really is. We’ve got this run left. We’ve got another swim, another bike, and another run. And once again, it is Vermalin and Salai are just off the pace here. All right, we’re going to Well, with all the bikes falling over, we’ll head down to Adam. See what he can see. Adam. Oh, there’s so much tension down here right now. So, the shorts first of all, uh John Anthony was doing a bit of a who do you want it to be with the crowd. They voted for Jean Leair and he’s given it to Jean Leair. Tim Dawn wasn’t going to make his decision until he saw what John did and he’s gone to Yolen for Men and then in transition all those bikes falling down. Yolene was the only one who picked her bike back up and the race officials have picked up the other bikes that failed. So, she lost a few seconds there and she took off with her helmet on and had to come back to her box. So, a tough transition for her there. I tell you what, I was under the impression that no one was allowed to touch a box. Well, I’m I’m with you there and I kind of think Yeah, we know that that’s the story in transition. It’s up to you to look after your equipment. I think they should be left there for them to pick up a on the next round and then they would have lost the seconds that uh that Vermillain lost. Okay. Well, let’s tell Adam to knock them all back down again. Yeah, just just swipe them all back down. I’d be sad if I was Jess Fuller. I would have thought, you know what, I know she’s not in championship contention, but she’s been at the front of this race the whole time. She’ll be sad not to get the short. So, Laair’s the only one in that group at the front right now who’s got that one in the bag, and that is going to hurt Taylor Brown and it’s going to hurt Perio as well. Perio has the run class to run that gap back. Taylor Brown usually, probably today, maybe not. Maybe she’s running a bit on empty. and over these 12,200 m. It’s interesting cuz we’re in the um race briefing with all the athletes on Friday night and we’re running through the course. Michael Thompson, our race director, is running through the course and how it’s all going to work and we said it’s a 1.2 km run, which is slightly shorter than it has been here in the past because the the last run has been two laps, but because of this new extra part on the pump nerf, we made it one lap and she was like, “Can we not make the run longer? She knows what kind of run form that she’s in. Do you want to make the run as long as possible? Wow, look at Jean Leair though. She uh looks totally focused and uh Jolene the mainland there just coming through with Fanny Salai on her heels. At least that they have each other to help one another out on the swim and on the bike. They’ve just got to pick up the pace as much as they can. But that’s a big gap now that separates our front front four athletes and the two athletes behind. It’s a better run from Taylor Brown this time. She hasn’t lost any time really to the other two. Tiny gap there, maybe a second, maybe less. And Jess Fuller is just really impressing with her swim bike and run prowess to be amongst these three championship contenders. She finished seventh in her only race this year and hasn’t featured in the last couple of races. Hasn’t been around. Comes back in. She’s obviously raced Super Try a fair bit, but she’s having one of the one of her really She looks incredible. She looks incredible. Never seen her run like this. This is absolutely brilliant running from Jess Bugger. She looks totally in control and and she looks on par with the other athletes and we haven’t seen that before. We’ve seen brilliant swims and brilliant bikes, but this is by far her best ever run in Super Tribe. Certainly is. And here comes the last transition back into the water. And it looks clean. So we head into the final swim bike and run here in Tuloo with a championship on the line and all the championship contenders in the top six. The shorts were won by Brownley on the swim and bike. They will run by podium in the run. That was Jess Fuliger and John Leair and the shortuit allocation has gone to Jolian Valen from Tim Dawn and John Leair who has her destiny in her hands. It’s podium one and two at the front. Both those women, Leair and Leoni Pererryio, if they win, they will win the entire thing. And the rest of them, well, Fuller’s having a great one. Taylor Brown’s a contender and is a contender and she also has the short and Fanny Zai is sticking strong as well in the top six. Last swim and run to go now. And it is anyone’s. I am. I’m absolutely flipping out. This is going to be fantastic. I cannot wait for it. It’s going to be a huge end to this one. Do not go anywhere. I’ll take a break and head down now to Adam. Well, I’ve got Alberto Gonzalez Garcia here, a very interested spectator from a podium point of view. This looks like a shootout between two podium athletes now. Jean Leair, who has a short, and Leoni Perio, how do you see this playing out knowing their strengths and weaknesses? Well, they are the leaders of our team. Uh they they’ve been put in the show this year. So, looking forward to see a one two position. I don’t care if it is Leoni or or it could be nice a third victory for for Jen. If I had to push you, if I had to push you, if you had to if you had to say one, you think is going to do it right now. Wow. Uh Jen is pushing hard now and he’s doing it in super try in WTS. So she’s now almost home. She It’s home for her. So I think she’s going to be pushing until really until the end. Thanks. Thank you. Do you know what’s really impressive is Yan Laair’s swim as well? You know, in in years gone by, it really was her Achilles heel. And here she is in this final third swim where normally it’s the toughest swim. And there she is leading this swim at the moment. So 34year-old Leoni Perio racing for podium racing. Having a terrific swim here. And I think that this battle is really going to come down to the two podium athletes for the overall title. But let’s not forget GTB because she has if she has something special in her legs on the bike, who knows what could happen. But uh these two athletes really are the informed ones here in Tles. Yes, another reminder as we head into the final bike and run. Leon Perio can win with a win. Someone nearly has a head-on collision there. That’s Miriam Casillus who’s gotten pushed downstream. Nearly runs head on into Leoni Perio. That something we haven’t seen before. Anyway, we continue. You can see how far away from the boys she is at the top of your screen. Anyway, take a breath. The only Perio can win everything with a win. John Leair can win everything with a win. Georgia Taylor Brown needs to win then have Perio beat Leair. That is the key. If Leair comes in second, she will still beat Georgia Taylor Brown who comes in first. Now the same thing happens for Veron. If the mailin wins, she needs Perio or Taylor Brown to come in between them and Laare because Laair has the most amount of points. So that’s how it stands at this point. Fuller’s having is that Fuller there in second position? Yeah, Fuller is in second and Vermillain has done a brilliant job of her helping herself and Fanny Salai get back into this race cuz they are on the back of the pack now. They were uh Valen and July were 13 and 14 seconds back respectively heading into the water. And now once again it almost looks like an exact carbon copy of the second swim. They’re all together. Throw a blanket over them. Everyone out of the water. Four laps and one lap to go. Perio first then Fuller. And Perio’s had a shoulder on Leair. She’s gone back for a cap. And for Men as well. So the two podium athletes have clashed with each other. Pererryio’s dropped from first to fourth. I think everyone is okay. The main drop. Bizarre stuff. Bizarre stuff is happening one after another. Oh my goodness me. It all happens here in Super Tribe, particularly in To. We nearly had a head-on collision in the water. Leoni dropped her cap, crashed into her teammate, but Men also dropped her hat. And they know that if they leave it and is just a smart athlete, she goes, “I’m not going to pick up a time penalty. I’m going to go back and get my hat, but that is going to cost her, I think. Here. Oh, man. Just when you think things have finished being crazy, we go again for another one. Okay. After all of that, Laair’s first up the hill. Am I right? Yes, you are. Absolutely. Is that at the front? Yeah. Fuller front. Yeah. Laair Fooliger. Taylor Brown. Taylor Brown could snake all of this. And it reminds me of two years ago in Neon where Jean Laair came in with a championship lead and Georgia Taylor Brown snaked it out from underneath that. And I you know you know that the longer this goes on the more Jean Laair is thinking that something’s going to go wrong or someone’s going to steal it from her. But she’s made it to this point. The eighth of nine disciplines without anything going wrong except for the fact that she just shoulder charged Leon Ferry on the way out of the water and nearly had a head-on collision with Miriam Casillas. Oh, you know what? This is the best. This is the best. I love this race. This is the best. It is absolutely the best. And and it’s so hard here because listen, all these athletes are magnificent athletes. They’re great people. They work so hard for their team. You know, you want to say who should win, but Yan Laair with two wins already. You’d say she has to take the victory overall. But this is Super Try Racing. And and as you said, GTB, you never know quite what she’s got shoved up her race cozy because it could be something pretty special. Just going to compose myself there. Anyway, 7 seconds across the first six and then a minute back to Ava Gooderson who is in seventh position. Fuller at the front, then Leair, then Perryo, and now it’s Taylor Brown dangling off the back. And these two have really been struggling to stay in touch. They have been staying in touch, but only just [Applause] Fuller just continues to be so strong in this one. She’s got to start thinking about the fact that she could end up spoiling the party for one of these championship contenders who are stuck right behind her. And Taylor Brown is right there just waiting in the shadows. And this is the only spot someone’s come down today. Right there going up the hill. We’ve seen it every year. It’s nice and dry now this time and they get through again. Wow. These last few we’ve got three laps to go are going to be absolutely crucial and we’re just finding out that Miriam Casillas has also been eliminated. She’s fallen 90 seconds down on our leader and there are some casualties here in Tulus and it’s the nature of the course. It’s just so tough. There’s so many hills in it both on the bike and the run and it’s technical. So the Spanish athlete from Crown Racing is out of the race. Fuller, Leair, Perio, Taylor Brown. We’ll head down now to John Anthony who is got some decisions to make. John, tension here. This is what this race is all about. But do you feel like you might have decided the title destiny between your two teammates by the short you’ve given out to Jean Leah? I came into the race knowing that if Jean Laair or Leone earned the short, then I would unless there were some extenduating circumstances, I was going to give the short to the one who earned it, right? I think that is the most fair decision that we can make going into the grand final. Thanks, John. I wonder if someone else had earned it, like Miklichkaver in the swim, well, who he would have given it to then, but at the moment, he’s been able to go to the fallback position of John Leair earns it, so she gets it. Maybe Perio has got a faster run than Laare, but if she does, it’s only by split seconds. Is it by two or 3 seconds? We don’t know. And that question is going to be answered very, very soon. And Taylor Brown is where she has been the entire time, which is sitting off the back of this lot and hoping that she gets an opportunity. But she needs to win this race. And does she have the run is the big question. Who knows? There’s so much to play out in the next 10 minutes. So, it looks like possibly we’re going to be down to six athletes left in this race. I think just about everyone else has been eliminated. Gooderson’s had that’s Goodison in the back of shot there. It looks like she’s had an issue. Maybe she’s dropped off seventh position. Sorry to jump in on you, but it looked like Goodison off the back. She was already over a minute behind. And you’re right. I don’t think We’re at the super six rule, I think, at this point. We’ll see who comes across the timing sheets after Zalia 6 seconds back, but it looks like there is no one else coming through. Maybe she got eliminated there, Goodison. Anyway, we’ll head back down now to MG and see what he’s got to say about Georgia Taylor Brown. Michael, Georgia’s still in there. She needs a little bit of mathematics to happen here, but it it is still possible given that we have a a Brownley athlete up there as well in Jess Fuller. Ah, you know, miracles can happen, but uh it’s frustrating. You buy the best two in the world to do this sport and they don’t race, you know, makes our life a lot harder for everybody. Makes it hard for Georgia to try and get shorts. It’s just been an uphill battle all year. Kind of confusing as to really what the agenda is of athletes. Thanks, Michael. Okay, there he’s talking about Cassandra Ban and Emma Lombardi who are not here today. And we look at that list of eliminated athletes. Goodison was eliminated which 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 and it’s Miklitzka who’s still in, but she’s on the bubble at 123. Yeah, she’s right on the bubble. I think it’s going to be tough for her to uh finish this race as well. So, we will be down to the super six as you said there. will. But at the moment, GTB on the front. I mean, the only way I think she can win this race that she can outrun the two podium athletes really is to find something really extra on the last lap. And that’s going to be difficult. It’s one kilometer, that’s all. And she’s mixing it up with the best cyclists in the world. So, it’s going to be hard for GTB to to pull away, but uh you never know with the experience and talent she has. What has she got left in her legs? We will have to see. It’s a difficult one, isn’t it? Tactically for her, she has to do more work. If she’s going to try and stretch out the bike and put them under pressure, she has to do all the work at the front. Therefore, the others can sit in and they’ll have a better run. But she probably knows that she can’t outrun the two of them at this exact point because they’re the two form runners in short course triathon at the moment. So, she doesn’t really have a choice but to just put all her eggs in the go as hard as you can on the bike. Try to force them. But you you know I mean anyone who’s cycled in a pack knows how much harder it is at the front than it is sitting in third or fourth wheel. And those two podium athletes at the moment are getting a bit of a free ride. Well, they certainly are. I think some athletes do like to go hard as they head towards the run. There’s something about that transition that makes it a little bit easier if you haven’t been cruising too much. I know Ali Brownley always used to talk about that. So, let’s have a look. But you wouldn’t put your money really anywhere else but Yan Hair and Vion Perio. And that could be a fascinating battle at the end, too. Exactly. How good is it? Those two are going to run it out. And if one of them wins, they win the title. I mean, they you couldn’t get better than that. They’re stuck together right now. And both of them are thinking, “Okay, well, I’m going to have to outrun the other one. They know each other so well. They’re both getting a little breather on the back of this bike. Fulic is only thinking about getting a race podium or taking the race win. She’s not thinking about the championship. Taylor Brown knows that she needs to transition and start this run at the front and hope that she’s got enough to hold on to over 1.2 km. She’s got to nail her transition. I think by her own admission um she she doesn’t her transitions aren’t quite as quick in Super Try as she would like them to be. And I think that is where the races are going to be won and lost here. You’ve got to absolutely nail this transition right now. And they’re literally 100 m away now. 100 meters away from transition and 1.2 kilometers away from making history here in the 2025 edition of Super Try. There is only 1.2ks to go between now and the end of the season and one of these women at the front is going to be your champion. They all get off before the mountain. Just Fuller gets in first. She goes front wheel in this time as you would. Doesn’t need the bike again after this one. Taylor Brown for some reason goes rear wheel in which he didn’t need to do. shoes on and they’re out onto the bike. Bulliger has another great transition. Laair is the queen of transitions and despite all of that, Taylor Brown comes out last. Veron is probably too far back to reckon. Zai will probably finish sixth and at the front it’s Buligare Perio and Taylor Brown 1, two and 3 seconds back. Well, I think Vermean is a little bit far back, but let’s not back look back. Let’s not forget that first race in Toronto when she battled it out with Leoni Pererryio and Cassandra Bogram the Olympic champion and took victory in the first event. But I think she’s left herself with too much work to do. And it’s interesting now because Leon Perio has dropped off the pace and Georgia Taylor Brown has moved up into third. Yeah, Perio usually has the turn of foot that’s required, but this time she’s dropped back into fourth position and it’s Laair who’s put the hammer down first. She’ll be so happy to have gotten through that bike without incident John Leair after everything that’s happened to her on the bike in recent years here. Fuller is continuing to be a thorn in the side of the championship contenders. Taylor Brown is getting passed back again now by Perio and you can see the pain in Georgia Taylor Brown’s face. She’s dug very very deep to try and do the job in the last lap of the bike and it’s starting to show now. Now don’t forget that Leair has the short falling will be devastated not to have been given it. It’s gone to Van instead. She looks behind. She’s going to take it and that’s probably going to boy her to victory. John Lair, she doesn’t take it. She doesn’t take it. She’s She’s made a mistake on the short. She’s given up four or five seconds. You could see the indecision there. She wasn’t going to take the risk. I mean, how she didn’t know she didn’t have it, but it obviously hasn’t been made clear. and she said, “If I take it and it’s not mine, then I’m out of the race anyway, and I’m not taking any risks.” Well, we’ve seen that happen before. It doesn’t matter, though, because look at Jean Leair go downhill. And what a popular win this would be. Perio is putting in the big ones now. She knows the championship’s on the line. She’s gone past Fulliger, but Men has gaps a lie, who cannot keep up with this pace. It’ll take a creditable sixth. But Leair, as she has done before, has gapped Perio. Fuller’s had another incredible run. Taylor Brown’s finding the pace too hot. Well, she is. And look at Yan Laair descend. She’s not putting her foot wrong. It’s hard to descend hard. Their legs will be broken at this stage. Every time they hit the floor downhill, their knees and their quads will be screaming at them, but she’s not looking back. She knows exactly what she’s got to do now to take this victory here and to take the overall title. Perio is absolutely sprinting to try and get away from Fuller, but more than that to try and catch up to Jean Leair. Taylor Brown looks behind. Let’s say that that probably keeps her out of it now. And John Leair has air behind her now. Gap. Plenty of gap. Probably four or five seconds. Would have been more she taken the short. And after all of the horrible things that have happened to Jean Leair here in To and all of the nerves and all of the stress of coming home to try and win the championship. She had it stolen from her two years ago by Georgia Taylor Brown. She’s been teammates with a woman who could steal it from her. Now she looks behind again. And now she can start to believe in front of her home crowd. John Leair having had a puncture having had a disqualification can slow down and save the moment. John Leair finally is going to be your super drive champion at home. Perio comes in second at podium two. Fuller takes a well earned podium and Taylor Brown just didn’t have the kick at the end and finishes fourth from Rome. All of your contenders in the top five. That’s what this racing is all about. Oh my goodness, mate. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Georgia Taylor Brown go that hard or look in that much pain in any race of hers that I’ve ever commentated in. Lovely to see 17-year-old Fanny Salai for Brownley Racing coming home in sixth position. Always got a smile on her face and why not? She knows she can hitch it with the best. A 17year-old should come into the junior world in some kind of redhot form on the other side of the world right now. And John Leair looks in disbelief in this one. There’s literally no one else behind them as she’s talking to Kenji Nina there. Her other podium team captain about the short. It didn’t matter in the end. The two Brits hug it out. But the British women’s strangle hold on to lose is now broken. And that is it for this race. There are no other athletes to come across the line. We’re used to out there still. Is she still hanging out? I don’t think she is. She was 120 down on the bike with the run to go. So, uh, well, she made it through the last bike transition. She’s still going to be out there. Well, great stuff from Susanna Makova. if she is still out there racing for she is you know what it you know probably for anyone else who’s doing that run and getting the big cheers they be thinking oh she came last she didn’t she came seventh how the pace is yeah her best ever super tribe performance so that’s absolutely brilliant for the young 22year-old I love to see the smile I know and and the Slovakian being cheered home by Michael Buch a fellow Slovakian who’s our onore course commentator out there with a microphone. The two Slovakians together and there you go. You got to know you can nail a cartwheel if you want to do it in front of that many people who are enjoying this one. It’s been a lonely old run for Adam, but she gets her time in the sun and plenty of screen time as well. hugs from her podium teammate and the third podium athlete to come across the line in the top seven which seals it for John Anthony and he will be happy after being under a fair bit of pressure. Let’s hear from him now. [Music] Well, well John, I mean what a victory for Jean Hair. The pressure she was under to perform today in front of her home crowd. Everything that’s been the last couple of years, she really turned it on. Yeah, she did a great job. There was so much tension coming into this race, right? For Jean Leone, we had John Reed, Taylor Reed, everybody was eyeing up their own spots and most importantly, we were going for the team win on this, right? So much has happened this year and this team has been able to deliver and it’s been an amazing amazing process. I’m so proud of what they’ve brought today. Yeah. And and just a word on Leone as well because she kept it honest for Jean right until the end there. Oh, she’s a warrior. Listen, she’s a real fighter. Uh, I think you’ve not seen the last of Leoni, that’s for sure. Right. Like that battle is going to continue and we’ll see them next year. And Jean, she didn’t take the shortuit you gave her. That’s not gratitude, is it? Yeah, that’s incredible. Well, maybe I made the wrong decision. Listen, she had so much fire. Jean has been waiting for this and the redemption, especially here in Tuloo for her. I don’t think there was anything that was going to stop her. Well, many congratulations to you and your team, John. It’s been a fantastic year for you and uh and a lovely team title there. individual title, sorry, and a team title as well. Well done. Yeah, thanks. You know, thanks to Super Try for an amazing format, for our brand sponsors, for supporting us and our entire team, even the team behind the team. It’s been a great year. Thanks, Sean. John Anthony, he puts more into it than just about anybody else. And we’re going to have a look at the official results in just a second, but have a look at that shot as well. Right in the heart of the city. You don’t get too many triathons right in the middle of town. 3 seconds it was in the end. Jess Fooler picks up a very very well- earned podium from Georgia Taylor Brown who just didn’t have enough left in the tank after a couple of months block of racing. Jolian Banan she hung tough the entire time managed to see off Banny Zai in the end with three Brownley athletes in the top six that will see them overtake stars and stripes and Malitzka was the only other athlete to come home in the end 2 minutes and 14 seconds in areas everyone else was eliminated look at that Eva Goodison was strong but she didn’t make it to the end of the sec the last bike Miriam Casillas was there or thereabouts early she finishes 10th Overall, Nina Rimes tough season continues and Aspen Anderson with a crash there as well. Let’s take a look at how it all played out. And it was a a better swim from Georgia Taylor Brown who was sitting there in about third position. Vanny Zalai won the short. A second time she’s done that. She’s had some great swims. Aspen Anderson tasted the tarmac on the little roller coaster off the back end of the course. She would eventually be eliminated. Back into the water they went. tough to get your feet in the shoes going uphill and lots of athletes had difficulties with that including Georgia Taylor Brown which made everyone else feel a little bit better when the flying mount doesn’t go that well even for a two-time Olympic medalist and by the time they got to the final swim bike and run there was nearly a head-on between Casillas and Perio and then there was one between Perio and Jean Leair and back for the cap as well when Jolian Vermean the last transition again Taylor round was a little slow and she couldn’t run her way back into it. Fuller was quick, but she got run down by John Leair and eventually by Perio as well. But Laair’s kick got a home again. Three wins on the trot for the Tuloose athlete from Podium Racing. Huge crowds down here for the podium presentation. And just listen to the cheer that goes up when their favorite daughter super chairman who lives right here in the big city gets announced as the championship winner from Great Britain representing Romney Racing, Miss Jesser. [Music] How good was Jess Fooler? I’ve seen her around the hotel last few days. Her mother is here as well watching on. She did race for France in the early parts of her career. Now races for GB. Second place from France representing Podium Racing, Leoni Perio. All of these athletes actually represented France at some point in their career. Perio really made it an incredible race and she’s come with three second places Toronto Jersey and now to lose. And in first place and super try to lose champion from France and Luxmborg representing Podium Racing, Jean Lair [Applause] already with the garland of flowers around her neck and being awarded her medals by Leonid Boglavski, founder of Super Try and one of the driving forces behind this incredible series over the past eight years. [Applause] [Music] The Athletic Brewing sprayed all over the place on this one under some beautiful sunny skies and a huge crowd of assembled media. all the athletes still sticking around and all of these fans as well. So after all of that, a confirmation then it was four points in the end with three perfect races from Jean Leair. You can’t do it any better than that. That is the maximum amount of points on offer in season 2025 and she took them all. Leon Perio made it a podium one two second overall with three second places. Georgia Taylor Brown went second, third, and third or fourth, sorry, for 41 points for me. And Banny Zalai finishes in fifth overall. So after all of that, let’s look back at how Jean Leair did the job. In Toronto, she was supreme and then in Chicago, she was equally as good. Jersey. She was just too strong again. She ran away from Perio in that one. And then she did exactly the same thing here in another podium one two. This time it was Pulliger instead of Taylor Brown who rounded out the podium. Well, Sean, after all the heartache in your hometown to finally get the title, how special is this? Yeah, it’s I’m almost more relieved than happy. I mean, I’m super happy, but uh like I think when I cross the line, I was like, “Oh, amen. Finally.” So, no, I’m I’m really happy. And then winning the general as well because it’s been two years. I’m second. So, yeah, it’s finally a happy ending. So, I’m really glad. Yeah. And a word for podium as well here because you’ve taken the team’s title as well. It’s an incredible season for you. Yeah, it’s been a bit of roller coaster with the boys. We were like, “Oh my god, the the star the I was thinking maybe the boy will do the job and then Leon and I will just have to fight for the individual.” But no, at the end we were still having to think a bit for the team. So yeah, they make it a bit more complicated for our brain, but I think we we won. Okay, so perfect. Well done, Jean. And we’ll see you on the podium in a minute. Many congratulations. And let’s bring in Leone who made this season such a great contest right until the last Leone. But Jean was just a little little tiny bit too strong in the end. Yes. Yes. It’s a very good day. The first uh the first step is very hard for me but after is very good and Jean very push and finally my uh my big swim for the for the for the last step and and my happy for my second place. Yes. I mean you just looked like you were maybe going to claw it back a little bit on the run but then she just held on. Sean, didn’t you? Yeah. Yes. The one is very hard for me today for a very good for for Jean and and from the racing. Well, many congratulations. Well done and enjoy your celebrations. And here’s Georgia Taylor Brown, our threetime champion. Georgia, you had low expectations coming into this series, but you really really pulled it out the bag. You must be delighted. Yeah. No, I’m really happy. Um, today I knew that Jolene was only one point. Well, we were on the same points coming in, so I knew I just had to beat her. Uh, without being like a Debbie Downer and putting myself down already, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to beat Jean and Leoni. Uh, so yeah, I was just really focused on trying to hang on to third and yeah, I just about did that. This is pretty good in the context of what you basically build as a year off. Yeah. No, definitely. I mean, this is better than I can expect. I was hoping to maybe scrape a top six in the series uh considering the work I’ve done this year. So, no, I’m really really happy and I’ve just enjoyed every minute of it and it’s been fun to get out there and go hard. Well done, Georgia. Cracking effort this year. Well done. Thank you very much. Thank you. Three worthy championship getters and what a season it has been. So, as we prepare to crown our champions, let’s take a moment to celebrate all of our 2025 Super Try Medalists across the season. Super Try is back for 2025 featuring four massive rounds across North America and Europe. We get underway. The Belgian for me winner. Perio second is third and it’s a win for Alex Yei. Leave it on to Boo picks up from two and Basco Velasa. He’s on the podium. Gonzalez Garcia will come across the line. Here’s the Chuck outruns everyone. Reed with his first podium. The third win. It’s super try for Jean Lamb. Taylor Brown holds off and Fatty’s alive takes a podium. She’s going to go back to back. Jean Laair will lead into the grand final. Leon Pererryio is going to come in for second. Crown in third. Taylor Brown here at home. John Lee and a first time winner at Super League Triathon for Lassa. All hard to finish second. And a best result for Ollie Conway. What a season it has been as we prepare for the champions podium that’ll include all six athletes, the top three in the men and the women. And just looking back across all of that, it’s been an incredible way to usher in a a next generation. Chongor Leman, Ollie Conway, and Jess Fuliger stepping up to the plate as well. Jollian throwing a hat in the ring. There’s been so many great uh athletes and I cannot wait for season 2026 when we’ll see athletes like Matthysse Bolu and Fanny Zalai and Reese Vanison continue to take another step up as well and it’s going to be incredible to see as we hopefully come back to Tuloo once again and it’s been a true festival of triathlon here. A lot of the people you’re seeing in your screen right now also raced this morning in waters that were extremely fresh, I have to say. But it didn’t stop a sold out to lose triathlon from going ahead earlier this morning. And watching hundreds and hundreds of athletes jump into the Gon and enjoy what was a great bike and run course as well was truly inspiring. And often times you get your medal handed out by a super triathlete as well. So I got mine actually back in Toronto from Alex G if you don’t mind. And it was annoying how fresh he looked and how buckled I was. But there you go. We’re going to have the extra time show soon. But right now we’re waiting for the podium for our champions and then we’ll get our teams up there as well. So it’ll be very crowded and John Anthony has truly changed the games in terms of what the teams can do and the tactics involved and he has been rewarded with the team’s title as well as the champions in the women’s one and two. We’ll head down there right now to the champions podium league. Please welcome to the top three of women and men. [Music] The trophies will be presented by Leonid Musli, Super Chairman and C Thunder. In third place, representing Chrome Racing, Ricardo Batista and Georgia Taylor Brown. Third place in both the men’s and the women’s. The two athletes with Bang victorious across the chest. Georgia Taylor Brown and Ricardo Batista. One relieved to hang on to third, one astonished that he managed to do so having never taken a podium across the series. But consistency was key. and Leonid Boguslavski, the co-founder and chairman of Super Try, hands out the trophies. [Applause] Congratulations to each other as is Leoni Perio. And there is such good camaraderie between our athletes both within and across teams. Five league champions representing stars and stripes lean representing racing [Applause] Down go down go down. [Applause] What a reception for Jean Laair and John Layman, but especially for La Hair as they all take the top step together. It’s been monumental to watch this year. [Applause] World beers each and everyone and we look to welcome them back in season 2026 as we head down now again to the black carpet if you can hear anything at all. Adam Leech. Okay. Okay. Just coming back up onto the podium. Guys, do you mind just giving us a bit of space just going that way? Sean, it’s been an incredible day for you. A great day, guys. Do you mind just heading down that way, please? Thanks. It’s been an incredible day for you, but we’ve got an extra surprise for you. Extra special surprise. I’m going to get out of the way now. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] Nothing more needs to be said than congratulations to Jean Leair and her fiance Natan. And I do not know one bit about that, but I have goosebumps all up and down my legs. Let’s have a look at the team standings in the end. 90 points in the end for podium. They pick it up. And what a day for Jean Leair wins the teams as well. Crown racing in the end with 76 points. Holds off Brownley Racing who jumps back across Stars and Stripes to finish on the team’s podium. [Music] This is what it’s about. This is the team environment that we’re building. Gonzalez Garcia will come across the line. The third win in Super Try for John Le is amazing twin is amazing ambiance is amazing race. Podium one two. This team title is really looking good for podium at the moment. That’s how you do super racing. That’s how you make it to the end on the top seven. [Applause] Leoni Perio leading the way. [Music] Absolutely incredible scenes. We’ve had a proposal, a successful one. We’ve had a new team’s winner. We’ve had some incredible crowds and a beautiful day here in To finish off what has been an immense season of racing. your team champions podium racing. I’m not sure whether we’ll see them get up on the podium before we have to wrap it up here in Tuloo, but it has been incredible once again. We’ll head back down and see what we can catch. [Applause] presented by [Applause] early racing managed to get back past stars and stripes which means Tim Dawn and his charges take third position overall and haven’t they earn it. David Gooderson, Fanny Zalai, Jolian Vlan, Jess Fulliger, Marcus Day, Johnny Brownley, Harry Loo, and Ian Panacan and all the other Brownley athletes that have contributed across the course of the season as well. In second position, Crown Racing, who have had several different athletes as well, but Georgia Taylor Brown leading the way with Basco Velaser on that one. And then the newly engaged Jean Leair, the champion, Kenji Nina, John Reed, Leone Perio, and everybody else from Podium Racing. That wraps us up from season 2026 soon to 2025. We’ve hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as we have, and we will see you next year.

Two amazing races to top off an awesome season of Supertri! 👏
Shame Kenji couldn't race, met him randomly in Tesco in Cardiff last summer and he's such a nice guy.
Bravo Jeanne! Magnifique!
Poor Vermeylen i.whine if the stewards didn't pick up the other's bikes and if she didn't drop her swimming cap
Amazing day for Jeanne she deserved it across the season she a pocket rocket and she flows so effortless around, Im hoping Supertri can get some more races it feels like there was less then last season? this season has flown by it feels to short for me.
