A lot to unpack here: this is my 2023 cf slx8. I ordered the groove aero bars as well as the pace t bar CP0048. I was sad when I found out that they do not mate together as many of you have found on here. I was invested in this as I had all the parts and spent all the money. I was able to get it to mate with a few small modifications and I hope this helps someone out.
I initially put the pace bar on the bike and found that the down tube was too long. About .5 inch of tube was left showing out of the top. Other than that everything looked like it was going to work. The stock angled spacer was also not needed because of the angle on the pace bar. I did cut one small knob off the next spacer down because it did not line up with the hole on the pace bar.
I used some tape and an oscillating saw to cut approx .5 inch of the carbon fiber tube off. Then used some files to make it smooth and flatter than my terrible cutting skills. Routed the cables and boom works beautifully.
Canyon does state that the CP0018 cannot be replaced with a CP0048. I believe that only the newest models of the aeroad can mate nicely with the CP0048.
