We’re here in Dresden at the Bespoke Bike Show where we’ve got loads and loads of rad custom bikes to see. We’ve got steel, we’ve got titanium, we even got carbon fiber. Let’s have a look. [Music] The smoke is full of awesome builds, including this dress bike. We’ve got front cargo rack. We’ve got a dyno hub, dual clean cantens, gearbox, and a belt drive. Is that a Wuang Clang quote? Long tail and couplers. Bristol brand stling have got a wonderful range of bikes. You could put them in the trail or maybe enduro, but think key is they’re proper mountain bikes designed for well everyday proper riding in really harsh British conditions. So, they’re single speed in a good way. This is one of their prototype downhill bikes. And whilst the simple elegant lines bely lots of fun details, we’ve got a belt drive. We’ve got an eccentric dropout to tension the belt. We’ve also got an eccentric bottom bracket to tension the drive side. Well, the non-drive side drive side because this has got sort of like a an extra chain, literally a chain on the other side to help get that pivot point and the belt drive in the right place. Loads of wonderful details as well. We’ve got an adjustable shock mount. We’ve got a little belt adjustment here. So, it means you can open up the swing arm to put it in, but it’s nice and stiff down here. And then we’ve got the wonderful gussets up front with a little styling stamped in them. Wonderful detail. Brakes wise, it’s interesting, too, cuz we’ve got some prototype hell brakes or HL. They’re from the motorsports industry. They’ve got a really high-end reputation. Apparently, they stop exceptionally well. Wonderful to see. We’re on the Curro booth here at Bespoke. And you might think the spoke is all about steel and niche things. Well, E MTBs aren’t niche and enduro bikes aren’t niche and that’s what CJRo have got. Lots of fascinating construction here. So, we’ve got a carbon fiber bike. Again, you might not think about bespoke being carbon fiber bikes, but it is as we’ve got this wonderful example here. This is the Epona, which is their enduro single pivot bike, and it’s also an ebike. So, this one is actually an ebike. So, we’ve got a Maxon motor inside here, a slightly smaller. I think it’s a 400 W battery, but the weight on this is sub 20 kilos, which is really impressive. 150 mil of travel from the single pivot, 160 up front. That in itself isn’t all that exciting, but how this frame is made is really impressive. So, all the frames are made in Czech. They’re custom made, and that in itself is pretty cool. But how they’re making the carbon fiber is really unique. So, they’re using filament winding. That means they’ve got a mandrel core, which is the shape of the tube, and then they’re winding the carbon on, and that means that they can get the carbon exactly where they want to. They’re also running an axle filament placement as well. So, they’re running it not just around, but front to back. And that links into how they’ve got this integrated loop construction. So, opposed to doing tube to tube, where you’re sort of cutting out the tubes a bit like you would with aluminium, they’re actually using the filament to wrap around the tubes, which makes them super strong. So all of these frame junctions, you can see this sort of looping section around here just means they’re really strong. Again, single pivot EMTB. Pretty exciting. Not what you’d expect from Bespoked, but they’ve got more. So this prototype is set up as well, a downhill bike. We’ve got 190 mil of travel, but you can set it as an enduro bike with 170 mil of travel on the rear. And obviously, you can put different forks in. It’s already been raced at the EDR, which is impressive in itself. And again, because they’re making these tubes, it means that they can offer, well, huge amounts of adjustment. So, they can change the front end reach, they can change the geometry, and it also means they can change the back end length. Talking to the guys here from Cajora, they’re looking at offering different options for front end length and rear end length. So, you’ve got loads of customization. Awesome bike to see, especially here at Bespoke. This might be what you expect from Bespoke Show. We’ve got artisally made custom tie with loads of amazing functional and beautiful features. This is the Speedster from Black Sheep Cycles. Black Sheep are known for these incredible titanium creations and this one well is also amazing and there’s a lot going on despite the elegant and simple looks. We’ve actually got a single speed setup on this one, but you could put a derailer on there. You could also put a belt drive. And it’s clever because we’ve got a little adjustable chain stay length which takes up the the tensioning of that belt or in a single speed format. It also means it’s packable. And you might want it packable for a feature which we’ll talk about a little bit later. Again, we’ve got wonderful tie seat post. We’ve got gorgeous custom bent tie bars with custom grips. Yeah, they’ve made their own black sheep grips which have got their own little logo on. They’re silicon. They do look lovely. And the other thing is this death explosion fork. There’s a lot going on here as well. Effectively, we’ve got these plates across here and then we’ve got kind of two independent loops. And it means it’s been described to me as you’ve got suspension and you’ve got rigid and then this sits firmly in between in the gray zone. So, it’s going to be flexible but only in these planes. So, effectively center points of these are going to flex and give you a nice comfortable ride. And then the other cool features on this bike, well, we’ve got White Industry cranks. We’ve got a nice White Industry headset, Astral wheels, which are well now owned by White Industries, but they’re very nice, lovely hubs. And then we need to talk about those tires. Might be thinking they’re they’re just Maxis Aspeno, and they’re not that exciting. They’ve been around a while, which is valid, but these are the 32s. We only saw them the start of this year at the Taipei show in a well it’s seemingly prototype format but here they are in the rubber. So this bike is not only cool custom tie, it’s also a 32 tour. Okay. Wow. This is super cool. Initially my kind of eye was caught by this beautiful shaped bar and the fact it’s missing any brake levers. But look down at the back of the bike. We’ve got a coaster brake with a really cool cooling fin on it. Yeah, this is a coaster brake mountain bike. It’s 2niner. It’s full suspension. It’s got 70 mil of travel via a flex plate. And initially I was kind of like I was very confused. I was like, how can you have suspension but with no chain tensioning? But because of this flat plate titanium setup, it can just flex in the right place. So the chain tension isn’t too affected. There’s so much going on though, even though it is a kind of retro future tech bike. So, we’ve got this wonderful suspension setup. We’ve got those wonderful bars. Then, we’ve got this twin down tube. So, starts almost as one. I didn’t notice it to start with. And then at the bottom bracket, we’ve got those two tubes. Then got this double anodizing. There’s actually three surface treatments going on with this tie bike. We’ve got polished, your sort of default titanium finish. There’s then sort of sand or well media blasted, so it’s got this nice sort of matte finish. And then we’ve got two lots of anodizing. First, we’ve got this nice root beer color. And then we’ve got this deeper second, well, not really coat, but second anodizing of the blue. So much detail in what is effectively a super simple kind of clunker vibe bike. We’ve got this remote lever. Well, not that remote, the dropper post, and then if you’re of a certain age, a classic saddle, a turbo. So much fun on this bike. Tutonic Titans of Tech. Yes, we’re on the Tune booth and Tune are known for making really incredibly lightweight parts. From hubs to stems to their very iconic Speed Needle saddle, they’ve got something new here and that’s one of the engineers at Tune’s own custom bike. They’ve used it to help develop parts and actually ride because the folks at Tune ride their bikes a lot. On this bike, we’ve also got the new XC wheels which are very, very nice. They’re being built in collaboration with Duke. Duke make those rims for well lots and lots of races. Kate Courtney included. Yeah. So many nice details on it’s apparently his 11th frame. But yeah, this is first suspension bike. Loads of cool tech. Might not ever become a real thing for Tune to make bikes, but there’s still so many amazing parts. And there’s a few more cool things from Tune as well. Tune are famous for their hubs. I remember working for a pro team that used tune hubs stickered up and colored up as someone else’s for race day wheels because they were so light. They’ve got a new iteration. It was out earlier this year. We’ve got the nicely named Nano and Micro. Very similar hubs but with subtle differences. So we’ve got straight pull spokes on this one, Jbend on this one. And then there’s some other nods to lightweight details. So they’re both center lock, but this one has got a machine down center lock to save even more weight. There’s a lighter one as well which could be used for XE. It’s really designed for road, but yeah, nice to see some really nice blingy hubs. This is a Sour Bicycles pasta party. To you, if you’re vintage enough, as I am, it looks a lot like a coner. And that’s because, well, it’s been inspired by a lava dome. So, even the graphics up here say uh pasta dome instead of lava dome. Loads of lovely details. Once you start looking closely at this wonderful frame, well, there’s lots of nice like custom tubing here. There’s a signature seat clamp that Sour are so famous for. Got really nice dropouts. We’ve got an eccentric bottom bracket, so you could run this as a single speed. Whilst you’re looking at that bottom bracket, you might notice the bullseye cranks, and you might be thinking, “What the heck are those?” Okay, this is a bit of a joke. These are made by Cybercycle and they’re made in a similar style to the bullseye cranks of old. Other retro but new parts include the PMW, so Pacific Northwest dropper post but in silver. And we’ve also got a cyber cycle stem designed to look like the Kona velocity one from back in the day. It’s got a a pull clamp on the face. We’ve got wonderful Manitou forks here with retro graphics which I think are like the Manitu 2 forks. Correct me in the comments where I’m wrong. A wonderful example of a near custom bike that you could actually go and buy. I chatted to South Cycles and they were happy that you could ask and request for one with these decals and with this build kit. So, if you’re keen, get busy. Yes, this is a Scott Spark. So, it is originally a mountain bike, but as the sticker said, it could be a gravel bike. This is a reimagining of a bike to a completely newer level. And it’s by somebody that can well it’s the only person that can do it. Danger home. The Swedish amazing mechanic has developed yet another mindblowing bike. Lots going on here. So it’s not just simply some drop bars and some arrow wheels. No, it’s been redesigned. So we’ve got a really big chain ring. That’s normally a kind of pinch point on dropouts with converting mountain bikes to gravel bikes is you can’t get the chain ring size in. But you can on this because this whole swing arm has been redesigned and rebuilt. Suspension travel is down as well, down from the 120 mil of stock down to 110. That same travel reduction has happened on the custom fork as well. And then we start to talk about custom parts. I mean, we could look at the ceramic speed rear cage and jockey wheel as a starting point, but there’s lots and lots more. We’ve got these rims from a side profile. It looks like a well a an arrow profile, a bit like a kind of whales fin where you’ve got these shorter and lower sections which you know apparently ride a bit like a low profile wheel but have the aero advantages of a deeper section wheel. But from the side from where I’m sitting you can see that this rim is not only really deep, it’s also really fat. And that’s to boost the arrow gains but also the tire stability. And working our way up, we’ve got this incredible Daramo seat post. So, we’ve seen these on some of the World Cup race bikes. Well, Daramo the products. I’ve not seen this fixed one. Apparently, this weighs just 83 g. We’ve got the MCFK saddle. We’ve got carbon rails. We’ve got well, a carbon top. It is super light. And then, well, things get more complicated and probably more diversive. But remember, this could be a gravel bike. And here we are. We’ve got this incredible one piece bar stem combo from Daro. It has been optimized for this bike. So, we’ve got the right width, slightly different flare, and slightly different drop. It’s kind of mind-blowing. I mean, I think it’s incredible. I think it’s amazing. What are your thoughts? Is this the future of gravel? Wow, my brain is fizzing. Just so many incredible custom bikes and so many different materials. We’ve got carbon fiber. We’ve got steel. We’ve got well, titanium as well. I mean, the forks that we saw on some of the bikes were wild in terms of lots of travel. Then just so much innovation. I know I’ve got my favorites. Maybe I’m a little bit biased, but let me know what your favorites are. What was your favorite material? And we’ve got much more coming in the next video

I love the belt drive, it's so practical and good looking! Thanks mate!
i just wrote the "First" comment literally just one word and it got shadow-banned, for real this youtube censorship is getting ridiculous :/
it's called a jack shaft.
Intend, the best
I just wanted to see that bike with the huge fat tires ☹
What's that bike in the thumbnail, the full suspension mini velo with the mid drive motor?
we got, we got, ah no longtails
Titanium is always the most beautiful in my eyes.
More of this please!
7:30 What brand is that dropper post?!!?!?
Has someone invented a dropper that drops, that’ll clear up. 🤙😀
Tune is the best 😀
https://youtu.be/CloICBnBXt8?t=373 a mountain bike with only a rear brake? no thanks, its even got a dropper post, but no front brake? that's crazy
4:06 you completely left out the fat bike in the background. 🙁
Superb video of these incredible bikes.Starling is very impressive.
Bespoked carbon fibre is basically what carbon fibre was 30 years ago… I don't see the point in all this small scale carbon stuff, once the geometry is set and you've bought the bike, things like 3D printed lugs etc are unnecessary and don't benefit the consumer in any way. They only help the manufacturer because they don't have the capital or abilities to monocoque it like the rest of them.
