Posting this incase anyone was wandering the same. I purchased the mullet “version” the spectral 5. After some very flakey answer from canyon support and finally getting an answer of it being physically impossible to fit a 29’ rear wheel into the mullet frame I thought I’d give it ago.
This frame does not have a flip chip and canyon claim that the rear linkage is different between the mullet and 29’ versions. And a 29’ rear wheel would not fit! Well this it the frame with a 29er in and there is plenty of room to spare to the best of my ability I also measured the geo. the measurements with the 29er wheel compared to the geo chart on the canyon website was a lot closer then with the 27.5.
Maybe I missing something but it seems to me that canyon are throwing 27.5 wheels into a 29er frame and claiming it’s a different bike/linkage.
Ps. I measured with Both 27.5/29 wheels and tyres being identical, hope fortus 30 with maxxis minion dhr 2.4s
