if you’re reading this, i hope you have a good day 🙂
[Music] Hello. Hello. I am doing another visiting every bookstore in each city in the UK. It’s a new series I started doing on my channel. And today we are going to exit. Right now I have just stayed overnight in Cornwall um because I was visiting Nuki and everything. I’m going to be traveling back through exit and I thought why not do a full day of going to as many bookstores as I possibly can. Sounds like a caris kind of day. I love reading and buying books. So I’m going to have to try really really hard to only buy books that I actually need, not just one because that will be an entire bookstore. I am about to leave my Airbnb now. Let’s head to exit. I have arrived. I’ve got my bag with me and I’ve brought some books as well. You know, just in case I don’t find anything, which I really doubt will be the case, so I can read when I go to a cafe. I love Exat so much. Probably one of my favorite UK cities. Is it a city or a town? Am I being dumb right now? Either way, it’s going to be a good day already. Look how beautiful the houses look. Wow. [Music] [Music] [Music] Bro, what just happened? I literally was trying to find this booktore called Bug Bag. I’ve found it now. I’m literally looking at about to go in and I must have gone in the completely wrong building and I ended up on like a guided tour of this like historical place and I felt like I was in like an episode of Miranda or something because I just couldn’t leave. Like the guy was so lovely. He was doing the tour and he was like, “Come in, come in. We’re about to start.” And I was just like I felt too awkward to be like I’m in the wrong building. So I just I just joined. It was great. I really enjoyed it. But I went looking for books and I found history. I just I honestly that was just so funny. I was just sat there like there was only like five of us in there and there’s like guided tour of this building. It was great. It was great. But I’m going to go in book bag now. The first store I went to was actually like an exchange store. So like you take three books in and then you can just exchange it for three books. And like it’s such a cool idea. And if I lived in Exat, I’d 100% be doing that all the time because it’s basically like a free library, I guess. And so I’d just be going through all of the books that they have in that store. But because I don’t live here, I can’t exchange, unfortunately, and I don’t have free books that I want to get rid of. Trying to go in book bag and more stores to come. I’ll probably try and get like a coffee or go somewhere soon because I haven’t really had lunch yet. So, that’ll be coming. [Music] Going to a Christian bookshop. [Music] Heat. [Music] Hey, Heat. [Music] Okay, this is my first time trying matcha in my life. Okay, I’ve added like vanilla syrup in it. I don’t know. This is really weird. I kind of like it. Like I feel like it’s like an acquired taste. [Music] Bro, this is literally so funny. I just had my first mantra and Claro has started playing in the cafe. The timing is phenomenal. I am now officially a performative male. It’s great timing. I just got my food and it is the roast veg pesto and cheese sourdough toasty and it is beautiful. This place is called the tiny tasting room and I saw on Tik Tok and I’m so glad I came. These are literally just playing like I walked in. They were playing Taylor Swift and no Claro. I’m going to finish my food and then more bookstores. It’s water st. Wow. This is going to be a good one. [Music] Oh, they have jelly cats. So cute. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] This one is so much fun because it literally has a bunch of books in a vending machine. I think I might have to get one just for the vibes. I don’t know which one. I think I might go with this book because I would normally get Emily Henry, but I already have this one and none of the other ones really stand out to me. So, I think I’m going to go with this one. Right. Okay. This is crazy. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. Wait, how do I Wow. That’s so cool. That’s so cool. Okay, I am back in my car now. That last one I went to with the vending machine was like the coolest thing ever. Like there was none of the books I actually really wanted to buy were in there. I might enjoy that one, but we shall see. It’s not one that’s on my TBR. That’s what I mean. It’s like I wish that I was like just buying books that are like specifically on my TBR. I got drenched, and I mean drenched in rain. My coat is currently drying in the sun because that was a downpour on the way there. I feel like all the other bookstores I went to and everything were all really close together and then that one was like a 20-minute walk out. But now I have done all of the bookstores I wanted to go to in Exat. So, I am now going to go to Tiveton, which is a nearby town to exit because there is this beautiful bookstore that I’ve seen online and been wanting to go to for a very long time. And Tiveton is it is a 30 minute drive out of Exat, but I feel like this is going to be worth it. It shuts at 5, so I have 2 hours to get there, but it looks so pretty. So, I am going to drive there now, and that’s going to be the last bookstore of the day. And then I am going to do a little book haul of the books that I got later. And I just the people are so nice here. I just people are so sweet. I love it. I love it. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Oh my goodness. Now it’s starting to rain. That was so lucky. I think it’s going to like pelt it down now. Crazy. I got another book. I keep burying books. It was so worth it to come to Tiveton to that bookshop though because it was so cute and cozy in there and there was like a little cafe. And I feel like if I had the time, I would have just sat in the cafe and read. But I really need to start heading back home. Okay, I’m going to drive home now and then film a haul of everything. So, cut to the haul. Hello, I am back and it is haul time. I love a book haul. So, get ready. Prepare yourself. So, I actually haven’t got like an overwhelming amount of books, but I feel like the books I did get, they’re all in this bag, are like good ones. I’m going to go in order. So book cycle I obviously didn’t buy any books at because it’s kind of like you give three books and then take three books and I didn’t have three books to give but it is a phenomenal idea. And then book bag was a really cute like independent store even though I went to the wrong place to be that was so that was crazy. But either way that was a really good independent store but I didn’t they didn’t really have a lot of like romance fiction which is kind of my genre. That’s like my preferred. I do read other stuff as well. Yeah, they didn’t really have many romance books so I didn’t get anything there. So then Bridge books was the next one and that was Christian Bookshop. I have already read this book before, but I borrowed it from someone and I really wanted my own copy. So, this is God on mute and in my opinion, this is one of the most like impactful Christian books I’ve ever read and it is all about like unanswered prayer, how to make sense of it. I’m trying to remember because I read it like a couple of years ago, but I know his wife is has a diagnosis of something that’s like pretty traumatic and it’s just kind of like making sense of like why bad things happen to good people, why certain prayers get answered, why other ones don’t, how to wait, how to know to wait, how to know like it’s just like everything all about prep. Honestly, it changed my life reading this book. So, 100% recommend. And then also at the Christian bookshop, I got some presents, but I bought a coaster, which isn’t a book, but I thought I’d show it with a Bible verse. And then also a little card by the same illustrator, which is very pretty. The next place I went, which is pretty unexpected, was the works. Um, because I bought a book for my friend, which I’m not going to show because I might have blew this before I’ve sent it. So, I’m just going to pop that there. I didn’t expect to go, but it was raining really heavy and I was like, which shop should I go in? And I was like, the works. that has books. So, I ended up going in there and then I bought these two books for myself. I love Abby Emnezz if that’s how you say. And this is her most recent one, I’m pretty sure. Say you’ll remember me and I’ve been looking for this in so many places for so long. And I found it for £5 in the works. So, get yourself to the works. This is like so high up on my TBR. They strike up a relationship. They’re kind of dating, but then they realize it’s not going to work. So then they try to forget each other. And then the other book I got was this one. And I feel like I’ve saved it on my TBR. So I don’t know what forced me to do that at some point, but this one has sprayed edges of a little trees and like a little campfire. Very cute. It’s kind of giving like camping wilderness vibes, which I really like. Ooh, this is really interesting. So basically these two characters got married and they were high school sweethearts but after 17 years the girl Sarah has began to like have doubts whether they got married too young so they go for like a little wilderness retreat. That’s very interesting. I feel like most romances like have a meat cute and everything but this is from like the perspective of a married couple like rekindling their love. The next place I went was water st and I loved that water st. I thought it was really nice. It was three stories high. There was a cafe there if you wanted to like read a book and go there. They had a good selection of books and this one is I have like three books and like my main top priority of my TBR and this is one of them. One Italian summer. Once I finish the book I’m reading right now, I’m going straight onto this one. This is all about like traveling Positano which is a very beautiful place in Italy. I have been there and I feel like I’m going to be reliving it with this book. And the woman who served me, she was she like, “Reading books like this makes you feel like you’ve gone on holiday without the price.” And I was like, “Yes.” The next book I got was, you saw this in the vending machine. So, it’s the situationship. That’s the only thing with it being in like a vending machine is you can’t read the blurb. So, I have no idea what this is about. I just really wanted to see the little thing go around. In a generation that’s normalized competing over who cares the least, can Tia overcome her fears and lay her cards on the table in the pursuit of something real fact? And then the last place I went was in Tivetton. My final book wrapped upun. It’s the most autuminal book ever. Look at this. I’m trying to like bulk up on some autumn books to read. I was about to say the fall man living in Canada. That brought that out of me then. But this is a cozy small town romance from the author of Headfirst. Basically, the main character, Eloise, uh she’s finished college and she’s moving back to her small town where she grew up. And then she obviously comes across some guy. And then it says at the end, against the backdrop of four festivals, apple pie baking contest and country fairs, the two rivals, enemies to lovers, slowly form an attachment that could end up changing more than their careers. I am so excited. Literally, look how cute this is. I am such a judge a book by its cover. Oh, they have like a little recipe at the back. Oh, like a sticky toffee pudding. Oh my goodness. is also from like both of their perspectives. So, it’s from the guy and girls perspective. I feel like probably my favorite bookstore I actually went to was the one named Tiveton. It was just so beautiful in there and there was also a little cafe. I was just like I could stay forever in here and they had so many special editions and sprayed edges of so many different books. They were a bit more on the pricier side, but I feel like if you went in there with like, oh my goodness, my favorite book of all time, they had like the pumpkin spice cafe one with like these beautiful sprayed edges, but I’ve never read the book, so I don’t really want to spend £20 on a book that I’ve never read. I feel like if you’re in Exat, go to the vending machine. That is just like such a unique experience that I don’t know if they have that anywhere else. I’ve never heard of that anywhere else. So yeah, that was really, really fun. I hope you enjoyed coming along with me on my little book adventures. I have made this into a series, so I’m going to like link it in one of the things of the other videos that I’ve done. I’ve gone to Bristol so far, and I will be going to many more cities. So, comment below which cities I should go to or any bookstores that you think, “Oh my goodness, this is like the best bookstore I’ve been to in the UK.” I hope you enjoyed this video and I’ll see you in my next one. Bye.
