This is the second episode of the journey. On this day I managed to cycle from Tõrva to Viljandi along the second largest lake in Estonia. And I’m really sorry that at some points the audio is not the best. Had a pretty good day!
I had an idea, a dream, a little bit of curiosity and trust so I just did a bike-packing trip through Estonia all by myself… and it was pretty great :))

I always dreamed of bikepacking alone. And also I was always scared of doing it. Sleeping alone somewhere unknown doesn’t really sound like something very lovely. But I finally had the courage to just do it. Does that mean I wasn’t scared? Oh no! Of course there were moments when I felt scared. But I enjoyed the trip a lot. Hope that you, yes you, who will watch these episodes will also enjoy the journey and maybe get some inspiration to do a smaller or bigger thing that you are scared of 🙂

do this. The leaves are just falling down. Um, okay. There’s also a snake. Scoop everything out. There’s some animal in front of me. If you could smell this. It’s so good. After every uphill, there will be a downhill that would try to be quick. All my closet fits into this bag. This one. It just goes around my waist. And this is basically all my closet. A towel. Then I also have some stuff in the pockets put inside. Few socks. And also this this black shirt I also keep in in the pocket of the jacket. And that’s it. I don’t need anything else. I think I will explore the city a little bit. So I know it a bit more like exploring a little bit what is happening around here. Yeah. And I saw a squirrel on the other side of the river there. Just some something orange was just jumping around the trees. The best way to wash your hands is to just go in the grass and just do this. And it’s basically clean. And then you just do the same with the other hand. Okay, I’m finally ready to leave. Um, finally. It took me like one and a half hours. I also ate two bananas. They started to look really bad, so I just ate them. It won’t be a warm day today, but right now it’s still a bit cold. [Music] This is the city’s stage, outdoor stage. It’s getting warm. Actually, it is getting warm. We are cycling. Um, it’s getting warm. I will get rid of this under shirt, the black shirt. I will also take off the pants and I will wear the shorts. I will drink some water. It’s 10, exactly 10:00. And I think it’s already like 19, 18°. It will be a warm day, but it’s good. It’s good that it’s warm. I am just enjoying it. My closet. Also, you don’t really know where I’m going, so I will just show you and update you. I have here maps, printed maps out. Okay, I didn’t manage to show you my plan in these maps. It was too complicated for you to understand. But basically, I just went straight up through Estonia from Valga to Talin. That was the plan. And after each day, I will also put a more zoomed in map. So, it’s better to understand where exactly I went on this specific day. It smells like autumn. It’s just the dry leaves and I don’t know, just everything. The autumn is in the air. I don’t know if you can see, but the leaves are just falling down. [Music] I’m going in tto direction. We will go there. This is just adorable. I love it. I absolutely love it. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Um, I just came here and this is the tip of the second largest lake of Estonia. And I will just go along one side of the lake. Not fully around but just along one one side of the lake. I will just sit down there. I think I will make some proper breakfast/ lunch and I will just enjoy the wild life here, the lake life. There are some fireflies, ducks, some other birds. Um, okay. There’s also a snake, of course. This is the perfect spot, I think, for snakes. I wanted to put the bike there. Um, and there’s just a snake laying down in the sun. Love it. I just love it. And it’s This one is the poisonous one. Yeah, the snake is already gone. The snake is already gone because it was it was like there. Yeah, it’s pretty here. It is very pretty here. Um, I decided to stop here. Uh, I was there just nearby. like where the snake was. And I just came here. It’s much easier here. Um, and I also have a place to sit down. I just wanted to show you. I made this. It’s like a It’s not like a protein package, but some kind of supplement like container and I just added it to the bike. And here I am storing my food. Some some parts of the food. And this is like oats, instant oats. I will make this um together with then I also have salt. I have couscous and but I will take also these. There’s also oats and other kind of grains. So I will just add these to that one. And I also have a banana and some dates. And um I think it should be just good. Yes. Yes. Yes. I also have a school. Smells good. I have cycled 20 km today. Well, the first few was in the city. So yeah, still a long day to go. I found a plum also in my bag. Well, I knew it is there, but I think it looks good. What do you think? Whoa. Wow. Okay. I will I just finished eating. It’s empty. It is dirty. It needs to be washed. And I saw a girl who just did this. She just poured some water inside of it. Yeah. The oats are on the side of the pot, so it’s hard to get them. Yeah. And then usually you would just pour this out, but she just drunk it. So I will also do the same because it’s totally normal and it’s totally okay. I don’t know. Why to waste water, right? Well, it’s a bit cleaner than it was, but there is still some oats of on the on the edges. This one. And I will just scoop everything out. Oh, and there are some mosquitoes. They’re biting a little bit. I think I will just take a toilet paper and just finish it with that because the leaf didn’t pick up that much. So yeah, I would just take toilet paper and I will just clean it. In this location there’s also a map. So this is the lake. This is the leg and I am here down here and then I will just somehow I need to get here on this side. But it looks like that I can get there from here and then I will just go up something like that. Or maybe I will just go until here and then I will go in. Yes. And I think here was a grocery store. So I will go there. I will check again. I’m not sure if there is one, but yeah, because I need to buy some water and I really want to have like a fish in a in a can uh with bread. Oh, and here’s also the the full map of Estonia. So, right now we are here and then I will just go to and then somehow up here and here is Talin and then I will just come back from here to Va with train. Yes, that’s pretty good. And how do you feel? I hope you feel also pretty good. It’s a good day to to feel good, right? I think so. Yes. And I hope you think so too. I’m not sure how much you see if you see the road. I think you should This is kind of epic. I didn’t expect this. Wow. Yeah, some butterflies and this I need to somehow cross this. Oh, okay. It’s okay. It is okay. [Music] There’s some animal in front of me. What? There. This one. I’m not sure. I’m kind of scared. Ah, I don’t want to go back. Okay, I decided to not go there because this is super like wildlife and I don’t know how many people have been here or like how often, but not that often. And uh I also don’t know how the animal would react. It was a small one, but I just didn’t feel like going there and I just didn’t want to interrupt the animal. So, I’ll just go back around. Like, I have a big big respect for wild animals. They are the boss bosses out here. Is pretty nice here. Unique. It’s very unique. The scenery is very unique. So, the lake is there on my left side. Finally, I got closer to it. Oh, wow. It’s super close now. It’s just here. It’s just here. So cool. It’s so big. It’s huge. It looks huge. How cool. And I’m a bit tired. I have some pistachios. Pistachios. Pistachios. And this is good. Especially the salt because they are salted. Today is pretty slow. Today is pretty slow. It’s going pretty slow because I’m cycling more on smaller roads. It would be a shame not to lick them because of the salt. Salt salt salt salt. Who cares? I guess it’s time to move. Crazy. This seems so much like I need to go around it. Crazy. Crazy. Is it crazy or I’m just crazy? I think both. Um, I just got some water, fish, and uh bread. White bread. Wow. Mhm. I’m happy about this. I’m so happy about this. Yes. Yes. Yes. If you could smell this. I’m just sitting in a bus stop as one of my friend would say. Bomba bomba bomb. Oh, the next 40 kilometers will be just on this big street. Big road on street. It’s a big road. My left knee is starting to pain a little bit. Just a little bit. That’s not good. That is not good. I don’t like the big road. No, no, no, no, no. So good. So good. It’s so good. It was good wild last there are there’s a path going besides the the big road but it just ended right here. Oh, it’s so hard. It just goes uphill and it’s pretty hard. But after every uphill, there will be a downhill. So looking forward for that. I just reached reached Vandi. I will take a swim and get off the sweat and try to find a spot where to sleep. And then I will also eat somewhere. And yeah, I have already cycled 107 km today. Crazy. A bit too much, but it’s okay. So, the day started in Torva and I just went up somehow somewhere and I just went to Villi and there I will also stay overnight. I was in the lake and the water was just perfect. I accidentally made too much food. We We will see how much I’ll manage to eat. [Music] I really need to pee. But there are people just running and walking still. But I will just try to be quick and just go somewhere here in the bushes. Oh, behind a tree.
