I think the course definitely suits me even better than last year. He’s here to win and everyone has strong legs. So, it’s going to be it’s going to be a really hard race. This is Del Toro, of course, is one of the big name for today. It’s a little bit like hectic from the whole year, but yeah, I mean, I’m good, so we will try. Dao ladies. Uh the front of the race though has splintered. There was initially a seven rider group that has been reduced to just these three riders and a chase group at 40 seconds. Quinton Herman’s Yan Tratnik and on young Hunter of Una X. And already Matt, this has been just fantastic racing, hasn’t it? Great. It’s just the attacks came straight away from the foot of the climb. It’s been dynamic. It’s been unpredictable. And it’s just Well, it’s the antipasto, isn’t it? Because uh we’re going to do this climb one more time. opens up a little bit of a gap on Mark Hosi and Yonetti Palamma. Oh, Milazi it is actually not Rome and Rubio his teammate though is there and so too is Balma rolling back the years. Yeah, roads is part of the world’s team, didn’t he, in the uh for the Netherlands. And again, you can’t really get a sense um how steep that is, but it is a good six or seven%. Into the darkness here in the shade of these trees in this late afternoon here in Piamonte with one lap to go. 33 km remain, but the three riders in the breakaway. They’ve been outsmarted really on on this climb. Del Toro made a series of accelerations, but none of them paid off at all. Um, and again, just goes back to this is a hard race, but it’s a race you really have to think about. And we all like a race you have to think about because it throws up some unpredictable scenarios. Um it’s a race for a race for the thinkers but still with a gap at 106 to the Pelaton. It is possible but um I’m just trying to think of a a bridgeable gap on the climb where there sight picking his way through and opening up that gap to Neilson Palace almost on the wheel of the Norwegian from the original breakaway. He’ll just sweep past him and then off in pursuit of the six riders who are closing in on the front of the race. Deltono has now broken free of the pelon the saddle. Hershey gets popped straight away. Yeah, that dispenses with the Swiss and Mr. Master tactician saw that coming. He read it perfectly. But how long can those veteran’s legs hold out on the wheel of the young Mexican almost half his age and now he’s powering clear. That seated acceleration from Isak Delo Mama I think acknowledges he can’t go with him. And surprise surprise Matt, we see a UAE team Emirates rider attacking off the front and going solo with 17 1/2 km to go in the Superga climb in Piamonte on the famous ascent of that climb outside Churin. He surprised a few people by producing the Pogata bow. He did it again at the Giodalia wearing the Malia Roa in victory. And oh, we’re going to see him replicate that bow that became the trademark or has become the trademark of Ted Pagacha. He’s deserved it. Isak Del Toro is putting himself in the frame with his inspiration and with the man who has dominated affairs. And Del Toro comes to the line and he’s barely done a day’s work. Look at that. It’s as easy as you like for Del Toro. He pats his chest. He points to the sky. And he’s made that look so straightforward. Delo wins Grand Ponte. And it’s win number 15 of this stunning 2025 for this young Mexican. Hold on. Hold on. Feron coordinator. Toro, Emirates.
