fabien and sandrine Hamburg to Copenhagen by bike 700 km of happiness a journey between canals, bridges, ferries across Germany and Denmark Hello everyone and welcome to my channel! Today, I’m taking you with me on an incredible adventure: a bike trip from Hamburg to Copenhagen! Get ready to discover magnificent landscapes, charming cities and lots of adventures! As I cycle along the Elbe I am amazed by the beauty of the landscape. It is a unique experience to cycle along this majestic river. The villages I pass are all adorable. On the way to Lübeck, I make a point of visiting Lauburg, a small picturesque village located on the banks of the Elbe. The traditional houses and the old bridge add to the charm of these banks of the Elbe. It is an excellent place to take a break and enjoy the tranquility before hitting the road. After leaving Lauburg, we get back on the road along the Elbe Canal, a magnificent journey that takes me directly to Lübeck. The landscapes along the canal are of great beauty, with green meadows and majestic trees lining the road. After a few hours of cycling, I finally see Lübeck. It is a spectacular view that invites me to explore this historic city.” Lübeck is a German city located in Schleswig-Holstein, on the Baltic Sea. It has a rich and fascinating history dating back several centuries. Lübeck became one of the influential cities of the Hanseatic League, an alliance of merchant cities that controlled trade in the Baltic Sea and beyond. This alliance fostered the prosperity of Lübeck, which became a major commercial center. Lübeck was one of the main cities of the Hanseatic League, this powerful trading alliance of port cities in the Middle Ages. It was nicknamed “the queen of the Hanseatic League”. We now take the boat from Puttgarden for a short crossing of an hour and a half, to reach Denmark at Rødbyhavn. We are in Denmark . We now cross the Storebælt Strait, taking the impressive 18-kilometer long road bridge. This immense structure, perched 65 meters above the sea, connects the two large Danish islands: Funen and Zealand. In the heart of Denmark, between sky and sea, we advance on this feat of modern engineering, symbol of the connection between the east and west of the country. The gaze is lost in the distance on the Baltic Sea, while the majestic pylons of the suspension bridge rise more than 250 meters in the sky. A moment both spectacular and peaceful… between land, sea and wind. Our little corner of paradise the day before our last day, what happiness!!! Danish sunset, it is 11:45 p.m., and it is still light End of the trip. Copenhagen. Here we are at the end of an unforgettable journey. A month ago, we straddled our bikes, light hearts and panniers full of dreams. In twenty-three days on the road, we covered more than two thousand one hundred kilometers, crossing four countries—France, Belgium, Germany, and finally Denmark. From the northern plains to cities steeped in history, from silent forests to immense bridges, from windswept coasts… Each pedal stroke brought us a little closer to our destination, but also to ourselves. This journey will remain forever etched in our hearts. Not only for the road traveled, but especially for having experienced it together—hand in hand, wheel to wheel. And now we are off to visit Copenhagen. The Changing of the Danish Royal Guard. Every day at noon, the Changing of the Danish Guard takes place on the square in front of Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen. The Royal Guard leaves its barracks, located near Rosenborg Castle, around 11:30 a.m. and parades on foot through the city center to reach the palace. A spectacular tradition, punctuated by military music and the impeccable uniforms of the royal guards. End of the journey — Back home And now, head to the Copenhagen bus station, where we will take the bus for a long 23-hour journey… sniff! 😢 But already, our heads and hearts are turned towards the next trip 🚴‍♂️✨.
